Arsenalisation, Signings and (zzzzz) Cesc.

It’s good to hear that the North Bank and the Clock End with clock included, will be back next season as the Arsenalisation machine continues..I think the club realised last season that 60,000 scarfs placed on seats at a cost of pittance was a bit of a shitty way to get the fans giddy, so they’ve invested some more money into bringing back some of the old memories.. Since the move to the The Emirates the club has lost its identity a little. This is a good way of getting it back and the fans will have a proper feel good vibe about the place. Hopefully it will spread into the squad and the club as a whole..I think its a good move I just hope it’s not coming out of the transfer kitty..

I really hope these are the first steps in creating a better atmosphere around the place. The North Bank and Clock End are a good idea but that was Highbury and Highburylisation isn’t the answer..It’s not a substitute for success. The Emirates needs its own identity and the way to do that is trophies. They are the best kind of memories. Nobody will be sat in the pub in 5 years time and say to their mates with pride;

“remember that game in 2011 when we had 99% possession but lost 3-0 and Denilson had the best stats”

What a boring, unambitious and downbeat way to talk about the team you love. It should be more like;

“remember that game in 2011 when Denilson hit a 30 yard screamer into the top corner in the 93rd minute? Won us the game and the league and 60,000 of us sat and watched the presentation of the best league trophy in the world at the best stadium in the world. What a day for the arsenal”

The Emirates needs that kind of memory. The only way to kick-start our ambitions and prove we are actually going for the title and not some fingers crossed, half arsed attempt like we are usually do is the need to sign players of quality, good enough to improve the squad because we obviously aren’t developing them as quickly as Wenger expected..

We are doing ok at the moment but we are spending nothing and every time we face a big opponent we get schooled. We aren’t as good as them but imagine how good we’d be with a few more quality players?

The important thing to remember here, is that Wenger said he’s got the money. He said that the financial shackles had been lifted and he had the money to compete with Chelsea. Although we obviously can’t afford to compete with them on wages, transfer fee wise we could sign anyone we wanted. The wage package Chelsea could offer players would make them a bigger attraction for a target, but they can’t sign everybody can they? Which Wenger also pointed out..

Even Fizsmann has gone on record saying that if Wenger wanted £30mil to spend on players he could have it.. That was back in 2008 so imagine how much we have now?

Whether Wenger will spend it or not is a mystery..Everyone seems to think this will be the season Wenger must see he has to spend. He has no choice. We aren’t good enough to win the two (not four) trophies we aim for and we need to stop making excuses and start producing. Recent trends however, over transfer windows past suggest we don’t seem to do too well in the window and the trend seems to be continuing this year.

Chamakh excites me a little but he was free and I’m not that thrilled with Kos if I’m honest. We need more. We need about 3 more…

If we add to these signings and get another solid, take no prisoners CB, a keeper who has the ability and agile niftyness of a chimpanzee and a midfielder with the mental strength and winning mentality of the incredible hulk I’ll be over the moon.

I’m not saying let’s go out and spend £150 mil but £40 – £50mil should do the trick. With today’s market prices if we want good players we have to spend big. No messing about. If we can really compete with Chelsea then lets put our money where our mouths are. Stop talking about it and just do it. This is what we moved to The Emirates for, so we could compete for the best trophies with the ultimate opponents..

By the way I’ve got my new arsenal away kit for this season and yes I have got Cesc4 on the back. I’m not too happy about whats happened and I’m sure Cesc wasn’t innocent in the whole saga but he’s class and if he stays which i think he now will, I’ll support him…I just don’t want to see no badge kissing when he scores because its bollocks..

Sorry, are you actually complaining about the free scarves the club gave out ? Bizarre. If you want a better atmosphere the bottom line is you need to sing up, not write the same old droning blogs about not spending £50m on new players…

  2. avenell says:

    Morning JJ..

Nice post buddy, how do the old water bottles feel when you wear them?

  3. Erick says:

JJ nice piece the germany players seem to be available who can help the cause get the Holand keeper and M & M from germand and lets get on with it Aw come on 🙂

  4. bt62gooner says:

Spot on,just what i have been saying for ages,i think cesc will stay,im a big fan but not stupid.Still think he will be man enough to turn it on this season. If we have have the money then spend it,its plain to see and has been for seasons that the squad lacks a good solid cb,dm,cf and GOALKEEPER!!

  5. avenell says:

How do a load of 50p scarves make the atmosphere better? If you support the mighty you should already own a scarf.
It’s like the team are coming out to a loud of school kids waiting for the Bay City rollers.
    Pathetic, cheap and embarrasing..

  6. Erick says:

Any… Sing to Denilson and Diaby wont get them going believe me the ref seem to be more motivated by the singing that then

  7. JonJon says:

    hi guys

    avenell spot on mate..

  8. Erick says:

Howdy Ave still homeless 🙂 nice post yesterday 🙂 Oliver must have taken you to task top man 🙂

  9. James - South Yorkshire says:

the same old droning blogs about not spending £50m on new players…????

it’s true we need at least 3 new players – and world class players and to clear out the deadwood..

Jagielka is part of the solution as was Campbell in 2001… Toulalan or Melo could be part of the solution as was Silva….

The goalkeeper is anyones guess, but Schwarzer is not the answer ..

We also need a luxury buy to generate the excitement – It appears Ozil could be that

  10. JonJon says:

erick your right, the double d boyz cant get can sing til your blue in the face but it wouldnt change he fact they are not good enough

  11. DM says:

I’d love us to get Sweinsteiger, Zapata, Frey. We’d win it all.

  12. Brady says:

We need to forget about ever spending such money while Wenger is he, I love the man and would hate to see Arsenal without him, but he won’t spend such money.

I would love to see Hangeland, Schweinsteiger, Milner and Buffon come in this season, but it won’t happen. Another center back the kind you talk about is playing for Stoke, is English and young, but I won’t dare mention his name yet he is what we seek.

However at the end of the day to Arsenal these sort of signings would be more Football Manager rather than reality, so expect some “boys” we have never heard of.

  13. Erick says:

The Jagielka and Shawzer rumour does not go away what do you think JJ you are never wrong 🙂

  14. JonJon says:

    re; your german boys..

so lets say if AW went out and bought metezacker, ozil and skeltenberg you’d be happy?

  15. Erick says:

DM I wouldn’t argue with that top top comment

  16. Erick says:

JJ we just need competition for places the DM position has no cover and Kos is so untested would make me smile JJ no doubt

  17. avenell says:

    Cheers Erick..

    James and Brady welcome..

Why can’t we spend £50 million????
We sold Ade and Kolo for what £35.. is it to much to ask for Arsenal to put in another £15.. even the Spuds and Sunderland spend that kind of dosh..

  18. JonJon says:

nice comment brady..your probably right mate, i have huge doubts myself we will see any top players that get us excited like when we signed bergkamp and sol

personally i think hart, jagielka, and melo would do it..ozil would be a bonus but hes in his last year and he had a good WC..we wont get him citeh and chelsea and the barcas and madrids would price him out of our range ( which is probably 3 mil0 ;)..

  19. JonJon says:

erick would you take anthony annan??

  20. JonJon says:

erick id take jag but id rather keep almunia than buy swarzer..

like i said in the post we need players of quality to improve on the players weve got..

replacing manny with mark is like for like..pointless…might as well keep manny..if we want a keeper than we need to spend big

same with have him in a heartbeat but everton will want big money..if we had more ambition we could get him but wenger wont offer more than what he thinks the player is worth..which is normally around 10mil max..

but if we want these players weve got to splash the cash…

  21. Red Arse says:

    Afternoon JJ,

Nice post. I think you have got it right. 😀

    Hi Ave, Erick. 🙂

I read on another blog from an Everton fan that Jagielka is just over 5ft 10 inches. Another (beep) shortarse!

What is it with Wenger and small players? Drogba/Davies frightened? Don’t make me laugh.

The Everton guy also said he wasn’t bothered about Jagielka going. He’d like the £15m because he was worth half that! Just great.

  22. Erick says:

Jj Annan thats exciting but the Mancs have been mentioned in the same sentence so 500,000 will make us no sign him

  23. James - South Yorkshire says:

    Football Manager? Come on …….

    We are Arsenal.

For the past few years we have been financing a world class stadia and as a matter of course have been cutting costs since its inception…

Once the stadia was a realty in design and planning Wenger started offloading players such as Van Bronkhurst – a WORLD CLASS midfielder in his day – No different a ‘bigger WORLD CLASS name’ than Ozil, Melo, Toulalan, Sjnieder etc on loan to Barcelona .. A lot of other high earners followed too …

When Bergkamp came to Arsenal he was as good as anyone in the world. WORLD CLASS
When Platt came to Arsenal he was the equivalent of Steven Gerrard -WORLD CLASS
When Pires came to Arsenal he was a world/ECN cup winner as was Henry and Wiltord -WORLD CLASS
When Silva came to Arsenal he was a world cup winner and probably the best DM in the world -WORLD CLASS
When Overmars came to Arsenal he was probably the best winger in the world – Certainly better than Ribery.- WORLD CLASS

Arsenal is a WORLD CLASS and top drawer club. It should act as though it is.

Football Manager doesn’t come into it.

The Diaby, Denilson, Eboue, Almunia, Fabianski, Glichy type of player needs to be replaced by both exceptional up and coming youngsters AND world class signings …

  24. Abdifatah from G-town says:

if u think the money waz available since 08 and we are unable 2 find a replacement for Almunia,a partner 4 TV5 and a substitute 4 Song who do u think is 2 blame?…lets be honest we cant be deceived anymo..evry new season gets a new name halfway as ”next season’so wen is this next season wit 5 ‘next seasons’gone?…am happy 2b an Arsenal faithful bt am not waiting 4 a single trophy if AW&CO. are incharge…am honestly hurt 2b a gooner at the end of evry season…MAY GOD SHOW AW THE EXIT and i’l be a happy man

  25. JonJon says:

    dont you rate jagielka RA

i think hes shit hot..hes not really a CB he more of a midfielder/rb but hes a good ball player and fits in wherever he plays..

ive read alot of everton blogs that say hes a hero up there and they wont let him go cheap cos he was better than lescott and he went for 24

  26. Erick says:

Howdy RA how is the F1 going JJ seems Aw is going to stick with the youth and the double D boys

  27. avenell says:

    I’m a bit lost James..

One minute you say we are dreaming, then your next post you say we should get world class signings..

I totally agree with your last except.. David Platt.. he was over the hill when he joined, with dodgy knee’s.. But a terrific player in his day.

  28. avenell says:

Soory afternoon Red arse.. how are you? Are your writing juices flowing?

  29. Red Arse says:

    Can’t argue with that.

In the future I hope there will be a change in Arsenal’s aspirations, but it won’t happen overnight.

When you look at the way the Chavs, Manure and Citeh go about their business it is obscene. BUT as a fan I don’t give a monkeys about that. If we had an enormously wealthy owner who spent big and we won everything, I would not say to him “Oh stop it, you naughty man”! I would say instead “Don’t, stop; don’t stop!” like the vestal virgin. 🙂

  30. JonJon says:

it makes me sad to think about that team..

u are right van bronkhorst was a top class player and we had to send him out on loan to barca cos he wasnt good enough to get into our squad..

thats how good we were back then and whats sad is that that squad was ripped apart in the space of 2 years..

  31. Ronan K says:

It’s funny. People will actually complain about anything. Give it a rest eh? The Scarfs were a good idea. How can you say Kos doesn’t excite you. Did Vermaelen excite you before the start of last season? Give the lad a chance before writing him off.

  32. Red Arse says:

JJ, I do rate Jagielka, but he is as you say a v. good midfielder. Typical Wenger already trying to play him out of position as a CB. (Deja Vue?) We need a big, butch bast*rd not a titch!

Ave, I have one or two ideas for a post and will talk to Ricochet when she gets back.

Got to go, the F1 is about to start. 🙂

  33. avenell says:

    Ronan welcome..
JJ can say what he likes because that is his opinion and as long as he is not insulting a fellow Roadster you can what you want..

PS JJ loved TV.. I remember him posting about him..

  34. avenell says:

F1.. I bet they all go round and round in circles.. 😉

  35. James - South Yorkshire says:

    Hiya Avenall..

David Platt was sined by Rioch when he was 29 and captain of England.

He was the 1990’s version of Steven Gerrard.

David Dein said on Radio 5 live and I heard his words as I was listening to him being interviewed. ‘I feel that this is the best signing that Arsenal FC have ever done.’

nd that signing came more or less straight fter Dennis Bergkamp – who was possibly at the time – one of the best five footballers in the world.

We are listed a No. 2 football team inthe world. We should act like it.

  36. JonJon says:

ronan the scarfs were a shit idea..

arsenal fans should have their own scarfs

we dont want scarves to make us sing we want players
    that play their bollox off

TV interested me becuase although unheard of he was captain of that shitty club ajax and was an international virgin with a measly 200 + caps for his country..

it was obvious he was good before we signed him

this kos guy was playing french league 2 football 24months ago and has never appeared on the big stage in his life..never played a big game..he doesnt excite me one bit…hes the next cygan

  37. JonJon says:

i was about to ask you RA are you watching the F1 😉

    see you soon buddy

  38. avenell says:

DB10 was a British record signing (for about a week)..

I have a lot of time for Platty. When I went to the 982 victory open bus ride we all went back to highbury..
Platty was one of the only players who took time out to wind his car window down and sign some autographs.

Whre are we listed N0 2 team.. I thought we was no4 behind the 2 Spanish clubs and Man U..?

  39. JonJon says:

chamakh excites me cos hes free so weve got nothing to lose and he has scored goals against good teams in CL..i think we could be onto something although its probably a pre motivated profit scheme…

like ade…get a player on the cheap,,if hes shit weve lost nothing if he shines in PL hes worth 30mil..

  40. JonJon says:

    james they were the days..

signing players like platt and bergkamp and sol..
exciting signings that got the fans horny..

now we have to settle for some kid nobodys ever heard of and hes snuck in through the back door…we never hold press conferences anymore with the new player holding his shirt and it just takes all the fun out of signing a player..

  41. avenell says:

Could you imagine the Kop singing “walk on” holding up free 50 pence scarves.. lol..

  42. avenell says:

We never hold a press conference for our new signings because you cannot take pictures of kids without the parents permission.. 😉

  43. Simon says:

There must be something wrong with me….

I know most of the players linked to us is just media speculation, but when I see us linked to Per Mertsacker for £10m, then see a story about Jagielka for £15-18m I can’t believe my eyes! If these figures are realistic, then surely Mertsacker is a better option.

  44. JonJon says:

    lmao ave double whammy 😆

  45. JonJon says:

if those figures are realist then i would have rather us never signed kos at all and left him alone and signed both mertezacker and jag

  46. Simon says:

Good point. It’s hard to judge, as none of us know the truth with all these stories.

  47. JonJon says:

has anyone seen the akinfeev interview on sky??

hes been saying AA has been telling him to come to england and although juventus where interested AA has sold england to him and he’ll only join utd or us..

  48. James - South Yorkshire says:

    No. 2 in the world.

If JAGIELKA was playing with Arsenal Man Utd or Chelsea – He would be one of the first names penned down on the England teamsheet.
Season 08/09 he was a candidate for player of the year – however very few defenders ever get the award …
He would be a fantastic signing as was Sol in 2001.
Like Tony Currie in the 70’s – He carried a very mediocre Sheffield Utd side. He also possesses a shot like TV5.

  49. JonJon says:

simon i suppose it depends on the players contracts..if mertezackers contract is up next year and he wants a move to a bigger club then bremen then 10mil could be realistic..

jag would cost more though..moyes wont let him go cheap so i reckon an offer in the 20’s would be more realistic but that wont happen

  50. JonJon says:

    are you a blade, james??

  51. avenell says:

JJ… look at this… it brought a tear to me old mincer.. 😦

  52. JonJon says:

hes a good player..i remember warnock saying hes the most talented play hes every worked with and moyes has been able to mould that into a good defender but hes not a natural defender..hes just a good ball player who can adapt to a few positions

  53. JonJon says:

    showing your age ave 😉

  54. James - South Yorkshire says:

    Hiya JonJon
No mate. Arsenal since 1972. I had a 1968 Pannini sticker book given to me by my uncle who was 16yo. I thought Terry Neill looked like my dad. Followed them ever since the 1-2a v’s Everton that season.
Favourite moment as a kid – Signing SuperMac from Newcastle. He was the quivalent of Alan Shearer in his day.

All my family are Sheffied Wednesday.

  55. oliver says:

morning all. sorry i was not able to respond yesterday, did not get back home until the evening…

good post, jj. while i do not fixate on the money we spend or do not spend – and i consider spending for the sake of spending a waste of everybody’s time – we do have some needs to address. i wish arsene had never said anything about wanting to get all his business done before the wc – i always felt that would be unrealistic and would end up being a rod for his own back. having not spoken directly to arsene recently, there is enough circumstancial evidence out there to suggest to me that the club is working on signing a few players and addressing a few needs – gk and cb seem to be the positions most often mentioned. we’ll see what happens…

ra, i read your post about nyy trade, but didn’t respond then because it was past midnight (uk) when i saw it. yanks have been linked with dan haren for a couple of weeks now – with pettite going on the disabled list and burnett melting down every other start, they definitely need another arm for the rotation. tb is not going away and i expect boston to play better when their injury situation improves. that said, i had never heard that posada was being shopped around – it is no secret that he and girardi do not get on, but i am not sure how high his trade value is. plus with all his experience, posada will be good to have around the clubhouse come september/october. i think the yanks will eventually trade for haren, but as a stop-gap only. probably will not need to give up too much for him.

i know that is not a baseball blog, so those who couldn’t care less, just skip the rest…the more interesting story is across nyc in queens, where the “jerry watch” is back on. since the all-star break, the mets have lost 8 of 10 (all on the west coast) and are in danger of their season ending before july is out…if they can somehow win in la today, they will finish a big road trip 3-8 and i expect jerry will finally be fired – perhaps as early as monday. he has never been popular with the fans (i do not think he has done a bad job) and is the obvious target. he makes his share of mistakes – the mets bullpen is the obvious one – but we has not been given the pieces he needs to make a sustained competitive run. calling for jerry’s head now overlooks the fact that the starting pitching has generally been good – they win every time santana starts, and get good starts from ra (no relation?) dickey and niese. but jerry has had ollie perez – who he wants no part of – foisted back on him, and has had to deal with beltran’s return from injury. the entire lineup has gone cold since beltran’s return in san francisco – coincidence? possibly, but as beltran plays his way back into shape, while batting cleanup or fifth, that means runners are not being picked up. the team was in worse shape back in early may and jerry was on the verge of being sacked then. they gradually picked it up – they will start hitting again and should get better, but i imagine the “jerry out” club will get the blood they are baying for…

or maybe not. jerry remains a lightning rod – as the ny media, former met players (bobby o. and straw are the latest to pile on) call for his sacking, owner jeff wilpon does not have to answer questions about why he did not spend for the front-line starting picture everyone knew the mets needed after last season. ditto general manager omar minaya, who isn’t asked about the huge contract he gave ollie (value for money? absolutely not)…in the infamous words of john ehrlichman, they can let jerry “twist slowly, slowly in the wind” and keep attention off themselves. not a lot of fun being a mets fan at the moment. but hey, they are my team and i have survived worse with them.

  56. oliver says:

ra, listening to the audio from last night’s mets extra-inning loss at dodgers. pelf is speaking – he finally put a decent start together after going 10-2 to open the season (now 10-5). he went five (lifted for a pinch hitter) and allowed 2 runs – he went back to his fastball and finally had some success again. if he can continue like this, he should be able to return to his first-half form.

  57. Red Arse says:

    Thanks for that guy. 🙂

I watched the Mets at the dodgers last night and thought they were much better than expected. Unfortunately I fell asleep before the end. 😦

Unusually for a Yankees fan I was really hoping the Mets would turn it around for you.

We’d better get back to Arsenal chat before we get lynched! 😉

  58. Red Arse says:

    James, top man.

Met Jim (?) ex Wednesday player then manager on holiday. Can’t remember his surname but he is Scottish.

Had a lot of banter with him about past Gunner/Wednesday games. I won! 🙂 🙂

  59. Red Arse says:

Alonzo won the F1. Am off for some lunch. All this sport is making me hungry! 🙂

  60. oliver says:

ra, at least pelf pitched well. he was absolute grease-fire in his previous start at phoenix. mets problem is nobody is hitting right now – pure and simple. right before the all-star break, jerry told mike francesa that he would try and ease beltran in, not putting him directly in an rbi slot – unfortunately, beltran has been hitting either fourth or fifth, and he is still too rusty. reyes and castillo seem to be getting on base at the top of the order, but pagan has cooled off, wright looks lost at the plate, and bay and davis are streak. hopefully when a couple of these guys wake up, the rest will come around and the team can start winning – pitching has generally been good.

  61. Breezy says:

    Hello all

I agree with waht most have said, (execpt the baseball stuff, I havent a clue about what thats about). I reckon Jags would be a good signing, he’s played well at Everton the past few seasons, before the injury. However, he has been out for a while and therfore, I think that signing him be a risk, especially, with our medical staff!!.

On the keeper issue, i would have been satisfied with Schwazter, as he would be a stop gap for Chesney now I’m not so sure. I think we should sign a good keeper no matter his age and if Chesney is as good as everyone says he is then he would take over as the number 1 when he is ready. This nonsense of new signings killing the youngster must stop, because if you’re good enough then you’d be in the team displacing whose ahead of you. This is also the reason why the likes of Diaby, Denilson etc have not performed they never had to fight for a place in the team, because Wenger has pampered them all the way into the first team, kind of like a rich kid with a trust fund, no need to earn your way through life because you’re sorted.

  62. naga gunner says:

we first need to change the shit name for the stadium before anything. “Emirates” is just ridiculous.

  63. Red Arse says:

Your summary, as with your Arsenal comments, is clear and comprehensive.

Unfortunately, because of the time differences I am often either in bed or I fall asleep before the games end.

I love watching, but I am unable to keep up with the day to day info/reports about the teams/franchises because there is little reporting in the Uk media. (Bit like you with the Pl, which is why I am so impressed with your Gunners detailed knowledge). Go Oliver! 🙂

Looking forward to the Blue Jays at the Tigers tonight! 🙂

  64. Red Arse says:

    Too true, Breezy,

We need to get hard-headed professional about the buying of players. Come on Wenger. If you need help in finding players, we fans can help!!!

  65. agirlagunner says:

Great article, JJ. Denilson winning us the league made me smile. I would happily eat a giant portion of humble pie were that to happen 🙂

I dare not hope for a quality signing; AW invariably disappoints us in that regard.

Hola, ave, RA, oliver. Howdy? RA and oliver, I always have trouble sleeping, but for some reason, when baseball’s on… I find it easy to nod off. 🙂 😉

Breezy, I am glad we did not sign Schwarzer. His WC performance was very Almuniaesque. And that’s not a good thing.

  66. avenell says:

Hi Naga sorry for the delay letting you on..

    Hi AGAG..

  67. Erick says:

Boom busy day for me Howdy Oliver , Agag and all any news ?

  68. agirlagunner says:

Hello, Ave. Where are our signings?

Hey, Weeds. Not too tired, I hope? Well, one of the stains (the eerily pale one) has been talking about YKW as though he were Barcelona property that Arsenal borrowed. Ho-hum.

  69. Red Arse says:

    Hola Agag,

    Just back briefly. 🙂

I am in agreement with you regarding Schwarzer in the WC, but don’t be too sure AW won’t finally sign him!.

Apparently he is haggling over 75 pence! The difference between £3,000,000 and £3,000,000.75 is critically important and could be a deal breaker! 🙂

  70. Red Arse says:

    Hi Erick,

Rumours abound re Akinfeev. It seems Arshavin recommended him to Wenger to solve our GK problem. Oh dear! 😦

Also you may have read that AW is increasing his offer for Jagielka from £10m to £15m, but as he was reported earlier to be offering £18m that seems to be a decrease! 🙂 And we have been linked with Scheklenberg. All old stuff really!

    It’s all b**lls.

  71. Red Arse says:

You could be right Naga. But Emirates has a contract and we did take their money.

  72. Red Arse says:

Got to go, things to do, people to see! All so tiring! 😉

    🙂 RA.

I’m off to bed soon too, RA. I’ll pray a nine-day novena and ask for the saint’s intercession so that we remain Schwarzer-free.

I’d rather a keeper over Jagielka, tbh. I want one/some of the Dutch too.

Agag you ladies always want everything nice to hear you are good RA old news it seems 🙂

  75. Erick says:

Arshavin should be the transfer manager he seems to be recomending people to the old man 🙂

  76. agirlagunner says:

Erick, by “everything nice”, I do mean the Dutch. Any of those “vans” should get our title challenge rolling. 😉

    Good night, all. 🙂

    Night Agag take care 🙂

“By the way I’ve got my new arsenal away kit for this season and yes I have got Cesc4 on the back”
Know how you feel mate, got him on the back of the new home strip!

hi all….we just returned from morning church services. no news – linked to this player, that player, blah blah blah blah blah. when something actually happens we will know soon enough.

ra, detroit and toronto should be a good game tonight. even without the proximity of the two cities, they are both good teams. toronto would be a playoff team in any other division – in the al east, they have the yanks, boston and tampa bay to contend with.

I understand we have the money which is great, but just because this season we have been told Wenger can match even Chelsea on bidding for a player does not actually mean we will.

This just is not Wenger’s style. I think its actually mad to think our manager has NEVER spent £20+ on any player during all the years he has been with us.

As for Mr Jag I think people need to stop getting so excited over the guy. I would have Shawcross over him everyday. People really need to forgive what happened with Ramsey. I would be confident enough to say that soon Shawcross will be a great defender at Chelsea or Man Utd while being a regular England center back.

All the names we are hearing in the paper will prove fruitless and the players that come in will be players who are not superstars yet, but of course with us they will have huge potential. How good this all proves will be evident come May.

Hi, folks… Arsenalization is good. But need to change Wengerisation
