Wenger Announces Minimal Signings and Spurs Qualify for CL..

After another season that has seen us fail and collapse miserably, Arsenal fans now find their nightmare continues..

Last night we witness the Swamp Dwellers celebrating like they had won a trophy.. Quite pathetic really, but given the quality (or lack of) I guess it’s quite an achievement for them. Its going to be fun watching them crash and burn in the preliminary rounds.

More to the point and what makes it more worrying, is that it shows they are bridging the gap on us. We haven’t improved at all from last year. We’ve lost more games, conceded more goals, been smashed by every big team we’ve faced and have the same points (albeit with one game left) and now the Spuds are right up our backsides. Not only this but we find ourselves in a frightful situation where if we don’t pull our fingers out on Sunday we could lose 3rd place to them.. A month ago people would have laughed at the idea but such is our ‘mental strength’ over the past few games, this is now becoming more and more a reality..They are on a roll and we are in freefall so we can’t rule it out..

To add insult to injury and totally rubbing salt into the wounds. Arsene Wenger has spoken out over the signings he will be making.. According to Arsenal.com, Wenger has said all the words we feared..

“I think we have been in the race this year with the team we had. We will be stronger next year just with the internal improvement and with the experience these players will have now. The additions will be minimal but if there are some they have to be really top class.”

Now we all know Wenger likes to blow smoke up everyone’s behinds, but there’s a certain de ja vu about all this..Only a few weeks ago (around season ticket renewal time) Wenger was declaring the financial restraints had been lifted and we could buy the players we need..Now hes using the words “experience”,  “stronger”, “internal improvement” and “minimal signings” all in the same sentence…

After 5 years of the same script we all know whats coming next.. A freebie signing, a couple of 12 year olds and then the words “we couldn’t find anyone” and the window closes…

If Wenger thinks certain players in this team really have improved and we need minimal signings in the summer im afraid to say he’s losing the plot.

Like I say though lets hope it’s all a smokescreen because we really do need fresh faces this summer..We all know Chamakaka is coming, but he’s free so he doesn’t count..The fact he’s free also makes it possible for us to use the money Wenger says we have to sign another player or 5 in key areas, especially a  goalkeeper, which is most certainly a priority..

Its not looking too promising though is it??

    mwah hahahahaha..

im still in shock from last night. unbelievable..image the uproar if they finish above us

it doesnt matter what team fulham play..we are playing like a pub team and i cant even see us getting a draw…

fulhams second string still have a gameplan..they have hodgson

our second string couldnt beat an egg..

  2. th14 says:

Long on blarney, short on action. AW has spun us all again! Brilliant blog as always. We seem to have gone in reverse and now those mutterings of ‘the players we have are maturing blah, blah…’ If we don’t sign at least 4 serious players then we will be the Liverpool of next season. Chamakh is good, but we need either Hart or Buffon, Parker (and all of his guts), a kick-arse CB and no more excuses!

  3. JonJon says:

    cheers th14

your right we need players right through the spine…some of the current crop have had long enough now and its obvious they arent good enough….

we have some good players but the number of passangers they have to carry is getting ridiculous..

  4. cootas says:

Got to sign GK CB DM and Striker and replace any we get rid of that makes at least 5 new players but we all know it’ll be chamakh and one other and that’ll be it! and if it does pan out that way we’ll be struggling to finish in the top 4 next year.

  5. LDSBTANW says:

in my humble opinion, a world class keeper is a must (Buffon), i would say 2 or 3 centre halves, over 6 foot. (move TV5 into midfield next to Song & Cesc; as good as he is he is not tall enough). [sylvestre, senderos going, gallas can stay or go, Sol can stay, Djourou can get his hair cut.]go after Hangeland and Cahill and another english lad. then how about a bit of width down the left with a LEFT footed left winger, N’Zogbia would do for me. direct and different to our current pass the ball to death right footed left wingers. chamakh appears to be a done deal, although knowing us we may find a way to fcuk it up. we are in danger of becoming Keegan’s Newcastle, or tottenham for the last 40 years; all pretty football but no balls. We are THE ARSENAL, built on strenght and defensive stability. and our fans are in no position to mock other teams supporters, get behind OUR team. lets at least get a point on sunday, FFS.

  6. JonJon says:

everyone can see what we need…and to be honest weve needed them for years but it wont happen

i said we’d win the league this season as was the demise of the other top 3..

liverpools collapse was predictable and the other two were bound to be weaker as this season has prooved…but weve stayed exactly the same and it just shows how far behind we are…every other team gets shitter and we still cant win the league..now facing the prospect of being over taken by spurs

theres no improvement this year at all and and the only thing this season has prooved once and for all is that these players are not good enough…

ill be shocked if wenger sticks with the same players next year

  7. LDSBTANW says:

big summer for Wenger. patience wearing thin, he has changed the make up of our club, but to what end?

  8. Frogman says:

    Good morning,
Is this site a disguished version of Le Grove? Page lay out is an exact copy and the writers posts are the same tone as the anti-Arsenal twins, Pedro and Geoff! Why do you bother?

  9. th14 says:

Agree with Cootas – and what a dreadful prospect. Liverpool this season and us next. We can’t afford for Arsenal to be in that position. Time for serious action or a Kroenke takeover!

  10. Erick says:

True JJ ‘arry say that before the game the Chairman asked who Arsenal is playing next yes we will be humiliated until Aw does what is needed. We all know he won’t so please just go home.

  11. Jason says:

The quote about the egg would be hilarious if it was’nt true!! The team currently has the emotional depth of Paris Hilton with the defensive solidity of a bowl of custard!!
Who can guess which players will be physically/mentally fit for Sunday, seeing as they switched off weeks ago?
But if he’s fit, I’d have no hesitation in sticking Henri Lansbury into the m/f. The guy has just come out of a season where he’s helped Watford stay up so he’ll be battle hardened already, he’s 6ft so he can add a bit of height, and he’s a born and bred REAL GOONER, someone who’ll give 100 per cent for the team, the club and the fans.
Also, get Djourou playing, if Gibbs is fit, play him and bring in Mannone….he was like a brick wall against Fulham earlier in the season.
We can’t let the Spuds take 3rd…..We’d never hear the end of it!

  12. Suhail.TV says:

Its New bottle on old wine jj .. Wenger is dough and blind given the tongue.

  13. JonJon says:

i agree we lack natural width..we need a real winger..

dont know about nzogbia though..he reminds me of a left footed eboue…

  14. Suhail.TV says:

Seriously true jason.. What is happening/ happened to manone.. Why he is not given any of chances. I feel if he put a good performance, that’ll prove wenger wrong. So he decides not to give any

  15. JonJon says:

jason that post made me laugh..

    paris hilton and custard..lol

  16. Henry O. Kamala says:

Arsenal does not have depth in the team to mount a serious challenge for the premiership, leave alone the champion and FA cups. Wenger just has to sign at least four quality players (goalkeeper included).

  17. Frogman says:

jonjon, which team do you really support in your real life? Or do you only live in your Internet fantasy world. A quick look around the various Arsenal blogs shows you with many degrading comments. I guess you are one of those Internet freaks.
You say we are a pub team, very funny that and shows just how imature you really are.
Arsenal will win on Sunday and we will clinch 3rd place, that’s for sure. I wonder how many of the other Premiership teams wish they were as bad as us? You need to grow up I think.

  18. JonJon says:

but i totally agree we need more players who have the arsenal spirit inside them and not the fancy dans who are only interested in their wages..

  19. JonJon says:

if you want to chat football then lets do it..

if you want to chat shit then go to one of your various blogs where chatting shit is the norm

  20. JonJon says:

    henry good point..

our second string are not good enough for the FA cup they get spanked by teams like stoke so why does he think they are good enough for the PL??

  21. JonJon says:

theres nothing funny about it…weve won one game in 8

we havent won in four matches

    thats relegation form mate.

  22. JonJon says:

    worst run under wengers reign…

  23. JonJon says:

    worst side in wengers era

  24. Suhail.TV says:

Frog man if you satisfied with what happened in last 5 yrs, then yes this team is great for you..

  25. JonJon says:

i wonder who many other pl teams wish they had denilson or diaby???

they are no better than what senderos was..at least he had balls..and that poor sod cant even get into the everton 1st or 2nd team..

  26. K-TR7 says:

  27. JonJon says:

fulham asked the fa if they could play our game on saturday but its been rejected..

  28. JonJon says:

    hey ktr

    still feeling glum??

  29. Suhail.TV says:

The day we see the back of denilsen diaby almunia and silvertre will be great.

  30. JonJon says:

suhail morning sorry i didnt see you with all the confusion.. 😉

  31. Erick says:

Frogman even a blind man knows the team is rubbish be objective and you wont hear what you want in here take a walk

  32. Suhail.TV says:

Morning jj.. I forgot to congragulate too.. That post on the other day was absolutly fired up.

  33. Frogman says:

I see that I am correct. This is Le Grove in disguish. Waste of time……

  34. K-TR7 says:

@jj this day is crap!seeing the lillies jump around like they have won a cl while silvestre smiling after almost scoring an own goal…you get it,right?

  35. JonJon says:

    yes frogman..well done..

anything football to contribute or are you just going to have digs all morning..???

i can chat football with ppl who dont agree with me as long as we keep it to football but having uneccessary pops at ppl and throwing insults at ppl doesnt happen on here like it happens on other sites..

  36. JonJon says:

    ktr i get it

its not nice it hurts to be honest..its like ave said last night he felt sick

hes not the only one..although some ppl think everythings rosey..

  37. JonJon says:

ktr what do you reckon to the protest being planned on sunday??

  38. Suhail.TV says:

Empty headed players empty handed manager empty minded fans.. JJ the stadium should also be empty.. for fulham game.. But.. Please arsenal a win..

  39. Erick says:

Protest you say JJ haven’t heard of it fill me in

  40. kirk says:

where does this misconception that we lost to all the big teams, so is man utd and chelsea the only big teams in the league? because we done the double of LIVERPOOL, beat aston villa, tottenham, everton. im pretty sure they are pretty big teams all fighting for champions league places

  41. JonJon says:

somebody needs to be fired up..cos the players arent..they are playing like a set of clueless tossers at the minute..

inexcusable performances..losing without trying is the biggest crime in the fans eyes..

its just a pity they dont give a shit…wenger rewards them and tells them its ok and blames everyone else..theyve got it easy at arsenal they dont give a shit about what the fans think

  42. Erick says:

Stv how’s the going still sitting away from books 🙂

  43. Suhail.TV says:

    No erick sitting on it.

  44. JonJon says:

we can sugar coat it all we like but when it counts against all the big sides we fall to pieces..

weve also lost 9 games in total this season so there is absolutely no misconception…

the league table doesnt lie…lost 9..

  45. JonJon says:

some fans are suggesting to do something at the game to say to wenger and the board enough is enough…

at the minute they are planning to wave fake money notes at the game so wenger will know we want him to spend money…a walkout might also happen..

i know theres other fans with plans in the pipe line but i cant say too much as its all hush hush and i know little about it myself..

  46. JSP says:

    Spurs are wank

  47. Suhail.TV says:

Losing against sunderland blackburn and wigan in by any means unswallowable.

  48. first rule of…

  49. Erick says:

Good Stv give it all, the emptiness is so much

  50. JonJon says:

i suggested a boycott of the game as i dont really agree with protests..

although the fans discontent is ever growing there is still a 50-50 split between the fans who are willing to get shafted and the ones who have the balls to say something…protests at the ground could turn ugly..

protests usually result in provocation which is why i suggested a boycott..

although i reckon they maybe a walk out at some point…which wont make much of a difference anyway as half the stadium leaves after 80mins as it is.. 😉

  51. JonJon says:

    hi rsd.. 😉

  52. Erick says:

RSD HI! Always talking in parables how have you been? JJ interesting guess Aw has brought this on himself thats atleast its something

  53. JonJon says:

top comment..short and sweet and straight to the point..

    cant argue with that

  54. i would to if i could get club level and get free beer for another 10 mins

  55. Suhail.TV says:

When we are up in a game. We are so nervous from there.. Even Against whu wig bla bir bur..

  56. JonJon says:

    free beer…that changes everthing.. 😉

suhail..true again..ive lost count of the amount of times weve taken the lead in games and lost..

even before we had all the injuries it was happening..

  57. Suhail.TV says:

True jj wenger’s comments and our position lifted us to the stratosphere and then put down from there. And now.. Whats next..

  58. Erick says:

Jj you could see their was no gear when we started to win 2-1, 1-0 a draw it was all written on the wall we were struggling even b4 the injuries as you pointed out

  59. Suhail.TV says:

So as players their balloon is crashed and most of them are handicapped.. We cant win the games..

  60. JonJon says:

to be honest we had our fair share of injuries but weve had our fair share of luck too…

luck can only get you so far though and once cesc bust his leg that was it..

we all knew it we just didnt want to admit it cos it was still to fight for but the team didnt want it enough…

  61. JonJon says:

SSN are having wanks over spurs finishing 4th..

    takes the piss…

its asif theyve won the world cup..

  62. the bad
Arsenal have equalled their worst ever tally of goals conceded away from home in a 38-game Premier League season – 26.

    the good

If Arsenal score against Fulham on Sunday, they will have scored more goals than in any of their 3 Premier League title-winning seasons.

    the ugly rsd…

  63. JonJon says:

    lol rsd

  64. Erick says:

A draw is written all over the Fulham game hope am wrong

  65. K-TR7 says:

@jj im all in favour of a protest!he should know of our feelings asap.

  66. JonJon says:

i dont think we’ll get anything erik..

spurs are going to do it..the script was written after the derby game..

  67. we’ll draw and then spurs will put 9 past burnley and we’ll just get third and wenger say 3rd is a excellent achivement blah blah blah

  68. anyone voting eboue today?

  69. c gander says:

we need a mutiny at arsenal im guaranteeing we are left disappointed come august. He just screwed all our season ticket holders, hes more a business man.

  70. K-TR7 says:

We are actually much better than what we have displayed.on talent alone we are miles ahead of most clubs but the attitude displayed by MOST of our players is unbearable!we should be 11+ points ahead of the spuds but we self destruct button as we usually do.i really do hope AW has a good surprise for us since the noise from the spuds will only get louder…

  71. Suhail.TV says:

Ktr7, He’ll have good surprises as he did with cesc verm rambo. But he’ll have so much shockers too..which is excess. That’s what costing us regulerly.. Only can hope otherwise.

  72. Damian says:

I think the current team is not far off being title winners at all, injuries have screwed us over and proves that the depth in squad is not good enough and I think 3/4 new players in the right positions will be enough.

A top class goalkeeper, center back and someone to partner fabregas in midfield and i think we are there + Chamakaka.

  73. irish gooner says:

we need to bring gary lewin back if you ask me,sumtin is definitly up with all the injuries, its at the stage now were we lose 2 players a week to injury,if wenger is really after melo i hope he gets him, song, cesc, melo in midfield would be very good:)

  74. avenell says:

Hi irish gooner welcome to Avenell Road..

Good point, but it wouldn’t have made too much difference to the 2 main men.. RvP and Cesc.. Bendtner’s car crash shagged him and Arsh had to play through his injury to cover..
Dudu and Ramsey we all know about.. 😦

Shit luck but, we always seem to get it every year..
Seems that the “b” team are too young and lack the desire to win and only know how to play tippy tappy football.

Good post by the way jonjon.. radical but good..

  75. Suhail.TV says:

    Hello avenell

  76. W.A.T.H says:

keep coming with your derision, we’re used to proving people wrong. Oh by the way happy St Totteringhams Day! ‘……OH, was that called off?..’

  78. Suhail.TV says:

Hello wath.. You’re having extensive GG days.. I suspect, not much to hope for .. Other than that.!

  79. W.A.T.H says:

Spot on STV not much else 2 do eh mate……… Drivel from AW and if he seriously believes any of that crap in his statement on dot com then he has indeed lost the plot.

  80. avenell says:

Afternoon STV/WATH.. I have to pop out for an hour on the dreaded school run.. back laters..

  81. Suhail.TV says:

Old age problems wath.. Every one there’re too good and too young for him..

  82. Suhail.TV says:

Why he is bu…king fabianski.. always..

  83. W.A.T.H says:

Amazing how he can say such rubbish in public when we can all see certain players are not good enough. I don’t agree with slagging players off in public if ur the manager but it’s just as bad when u big up a player who clearly not good enough.

  84. Suhail.TV says:

He acts normally when he is winning and certainly losting the plot now. Not pragmatic enough. If they do the same crap next week and costing the 3rd place. He will do it again. They are improving .. Future is bright.. So so.. Wondering what is improving..

  85. W.A.T.H says:

Nothing is improving STV the same players who are not good enough they just getting older but def still not good enough…. Enf of…!

  86. Coadsi says:

I Love the Arsenal but at times i get sick because of whats going on, even $purs qualifying (playing how we should be playing) while we playing like how we expect them to play makes me sick.
We seriously need 6 players, they dont all have to be technically gifted (whatever that means). some should be rough, smart enough to stick to plans and wise enough to know when to change them. but all have to have heart when they play.
But knowing le boss modus operandi over the past 5 years i remain pessimistic.

  87. Suhail.TV says:

Yes wath!!, the script was written in the pre season. The team lacked finishing and balance. The captain’s desire and song verm ‘s hardwork kept us thus far.. They are off we’re off. Van persie and sol got villages around them .. to let them down.

  88. agirlagunner says:

GG, we need fresh faces an an overhaul in attitude. Our players have let everyone down!

Hola, stv, Coadsi, WATH. Arsenal’s patheticness knows no bounds. Is it to much to hope for that we keep third spot?

  89. agirlagunner says:

I meant, JJ. Haha. Too much GG for me.

  90. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG share that GG stop drinking it all by urself…! 😛

  91. K-TR7 says:

Afternoon.imagine if we got buffon…hmmm!now that we have a new striker,we need a box to box mf(de jong/flaminiesque),a solid defender and a gk(buffon?) and we’ll be laughing.we should also look for the causes of so many injuries.to all villa fans, chamack is the one…

  92. agirlagunner says:

Here’s half a bottle, WATH. How have you been? Erick’s been telling on you. 🙂

Buffon would be a good buy, KTR7. That’s the sort of big name signing we need.

  93. W.A.T.H says:

Only half a bottle AGAG was thinking more along the lines of sharing a crate 😉

No chance of getting Buffon I reckon…!

  94. JonJon says:

    evening all

sorry i had to nip out..children certainly change your life..

howdy ave..i know it was radical but you know me i speak my mind..i dont look for excuses…if the team play well they will get my support, if they dont play well they will get my support..

but i wont pussy foot about when the team shows no heart and soul…

i could sit and cheer a player on all day long even if hes playing poorly, as long as he shows effort..

i hated nikkis guts not so long ago but he chased every ball went for every header and really put some shifts in..his 1st touch was still shit and his finishing attrocious but his effort won me over..

i cant support other players who show no bottle and i cant agree with a manager who defends them and thinks everythings ok..

its as if he takes us all for idiots..the injuries havent helped but the fringe players need to know that their arsenal careers are on the line here..we cant afford another cock up against fulham and wenger just keeps saying how good they are and there futures are secure next year no matter what.. its daft…

all is not well within the arsenal squad..the mojority of them need a personality transplant and to be honest im shocked that wenger cant see this..

  95. agirlagunner says:

WATH, If we cede third place to the Spuds, not even an ocean of vodka would help. AW could not have been serious when he said that GK isn’t an area that he necessarily wants to strengthen.

How much poorer do our keepers need to perform before he realizes that a GK is exactly what we need to buy?

  96. JonJon says:

we are too top heavy with flair players and we dont have enough players who are nasty and know the dark arts..

the foot stamps, the eye gouges, the grab of the bollox at corners..

too much complaining to the ref..and not enough getting stuck in..complaining only shows the opponent they are getting to you..so they do it more and more

its like in boxing..you know the guy that keeps complaining to the ref is about to get his head smashed in..hes not up for the fight and hes looking for excuses..

but in both sports its quite simple..stop complaining and get stuck in or you will lose..

we dont necesarily need english players either for this..paddy wasnt english, neither was petit..but they would spend 90 mins kicking lumps out of ppl who even looked at them funny…

opposing teams used to fear us..not just for the football side..now they come into every game with the attitude to rough us up and it works everytime….

i dont like it when certain fans say ppl like allardyce are killing the pl but until 2006 we were one of the dirtiest teams in the league..

and you know something it worked…the pl has always been tough..if anything its getting softer with all this no studs up no tackling from behind take the ball first then the man and its still a foul…shoulder charges are even frowned upon now..

and we still cant handle it..

  97. agirlagunner says:

Hola, jj. I have enough faith in the talent of our players, but their collective attitude beggars belief.

And it grates that they’ve all been giving beauty pageant answers “get back to winning ways” (Sylvie), “we still have a job to do” (Eboue), “youth is no excuse” (Theo).

Talk is cheap. They know they’ve been awful… They must do do something about it.

And if we must go down, let’s go down swinging!

  98. JonJon says:

    sorry ‘arry for the delay…

i bet you cant wait for CL football next season…it will be a tough slog though trying to juggle two massive comps over a season…

it will be interesting to see how you handle it..

my bet is you will be that busy having orgasms with CL that you pl form will go to shit..

  99. Erick says:

JJ what more can i add. WATH, AGAG howdy?

  100. JonJon says:

AGAG have you noticed how its always the shit ones who talk a big game

cecs and rvp dont even comment anymore..they know they could join any side in the world…

  101. Erick says:

Playing after every two days is not easy thats why we need a large squad but Aw is just too unrealistic

  102. agirlagunner says:

JJ, exactly! And Theo’s worse than most. How many interviews has he given talking up Arsenal/lamenting his injuries/blahblahblah… He has been one of our biggest underperformers. He struggles to spot a play, crosses poorly, is easily overrun by opposition… He has to supplement his killer speed with something else.

I would go so far as to say that Ramsey’s development has far bettered his this season.

Cesc, TV5 and RvP must cut a frustrated figure these days. Eight months of hard work trying to shore up points to remain in title contention, squandered in a month by teammates who seem to care more about their WC chances, than our football club.

I’d be the last person on earth to want our players to play hoofball or become thugs, but when our pretty passing is not rewarded by goals, players should also learn to mix it up.

Hey, Erick. I hope all is well. What have you been up to?

  103. W.A.T.H says:

    Evenin Erick…………
We need players end of BUT weall know Mr Stubborn wont buy cos he will then think he has been proved wrong that his experiment has failed..!

  104. K-TR7 says:

@jj top comment!we were a dirty team and it worked.i was telling rico that when we would make teams fear us footywise and also we were good at intimidating opponents.the invincibles won games in the highbury tunnel, even roy keane got intimidated.the invincibles though were poor in europe,i remember ajax boys schooling us.AW changed this team to achieve more in europe and to his credit we have but he should balance it out with players who can do battle on the pitch no matter the opposition.we are not far:rvp, cesc,AA,tv are among the best in their positions while sagna, clichy and song aren’t far off.fans may not see this but chamack signing reveals he sees the need for physical players who can get stuck in since we miss ade over buys like villa who is a worldclass player but due to the size of our team will further make our team look even smaller hence imbalanced.

  105. Erick says:

Wath don’t listen to a word Agag says she is trying to create a conversation with you 😉 😉 Agag just going through the internet looking for summer transfers gossip you ready for your vacation?

  106. JonJon says:

    howdy big boy 😉

i think the situation has gone too far…for years wenger has been defended on the basis hes had no money to spend..the move to the stadium was risky but we pulled it off so wenger must be thanked for that…

but in recent years ppl have debated whether he has the money to spend or not and this time hes actually said hes got money but he wont spend it..

its just confirming what ppl have said for years about him but he wont back down..

its like someone else said hes not in competition for trophies anymore hes in competition with his detractors…hes becoming that fixated with proving everyone wrong hes taking us back wards

all the hard works done all the effort all the patience..so whats he waiting for?????

  107. Erick says:

K-tr7 top comment but will Aw make the 3 or 4 top class purchase to create a European footballing giant. We badly need a plan B we had started to win games that had a draw written all over it but we just couldn’t keep it going 😦

  108. JonJon says:

its not so much as becoming hoofers…we dont need to necesarily have a plan B

what we need to do is earn the right to play wengerball first..

barca destroy most teams with work ethic and then good football

we used to destroy most teams with the same tactic with an added bit of rough…

now we just expect teams to roll over and die and when they dont we sulk and complain to everyone that will listen..every game is treated as a training game but what they have to realise is that its called a competition for a reason.. The leagues the cups, you have to compete..just turning up and trying a few tricks and flicks wont work against everyone..

  109. agirlagunner says:

Very funny, Erick. 😛 I am hopeless at packing.

If next season ends without any silverware, the youth experiment would have failed and failed badly.

    When’s Rico returning?

  110. W.A.T.H says:

JJ how’s things fella…? all good i hope, u managing to get some sleep..? 🙂

We have no plan B we have no width and the spine of the team is gutless and midgets….! To play pretty fancy football you also need to be able to win the battle first which we can’t do so we then can’t play fancy footie and win..! Still pass far to much and not direct enough when we need to be but thats cos the players not good enough.

  111. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG packing is the pits just buy stuff when you get there 🙂 Just take GG you’ll be fine…!

  112. Erick says:

In Barca when we scored the first goal we had an advantage just play Theo on the counter and let Nikky get the high balls but Silvester played a one two with Messi and Diaby refused to give a thru’ ball to Theo when he was all clear Crap 😦

  113. Erick says:

Its clear we need a combative midfielder with a turbo engine Song Cesc and a player I will call X. Solve the equation an find X

  114. Erick says:

JJ who is the big boy?

  115. agirlagunner says:

We don’t defend as a team, JJ. We just don’t have a pressing game… AA certainly knows nothing of it. Diaby doesn’t either. And let’s not go into Denilson. We want to pass, pass, pass, but as a whole exert little to no effort in trying to recover lost balls.

I like that Paddy and Petit were such big characters; but that sort of game doesn’t seem to be in the current aesthetic. And in our team, there are not enough players who can dish that out.

I love expansive, elegant fotball as much as the next person, but we need more purpose. If purpose were an off-the-shelf commodity, I’d send our boys a shipload.

  116. JonJon says:

    Wath is erick.. 😉

  117. JonJon says:

    no sleep whatsoever WATH

your right mate we dont have any width..it doesnt help trying to pass through the middle all the time and trying through balls in the 6 yard box

  118. agirlagunner says:

WATH, I did one better. I got someone to do my packing for me. And the GG in the freezer can wait until I return.

Erick, I agree, Diaby’s decision making was poor in the 2nd leg v. Barca. Which combative player do you have in mind?

  119. JonJon says:

    WATh that is so true

ive been known to baord a plane with just a shirt shorts flipflops and sunglasses and i just buy everything i need when i land..

only problem i found with that is trying to get it all back home.. 😉

i once walked through customs wearing 6 pair of shorts 8 t shirts and a carrier bag full of cigs.. 😉

  120. Erick says:

‘Big boy love’ it. Theo has been rubbish this season, AA lazy wont mention the ‘D’ boys crappest

  121. JonJon says:

anyone with an engine and a nasty streak AGAG..

anyone who can pass further than 3 yards, not get outpaced by refs, fall over when the wind blows, or dribble round 5 players only to pass the ball to them at the end of it all..

alot of ppl like melo..some say inler…some say matuidi…personally i dont care who it is as long as they play like flamini did in his last season…

  122. Erick says:

JJ ha ha ha ha ha 8 shorts my oh my am sure they thought you had gone bananas. AGAG my list Melo, Flamini, Palacios, Rodwel, Ireland or Viera

  123. JonJon says:

i still think the 433 would work if we had two kickass workaholic mids and a kick ass winger..

the two nastys in the middle keep the engine running while cesc sprays the passes about..if we cant go through the middle we hit the wings and pull the defence all over the place..

  124. JonJon says:

erick ive also got a nipple piercing that bleeps when i go through detectors..

trying to explain that youve got abit of metal in your tit to spanish officers is rather hard work…

the only option is to strip to prove it..

but strippings not easy when your wearing 100 layers of clothes.. 😉

  125. agirlagunner says:

How do boys do that? I’m the opposite. I always have something to check in and something to stow away in the overhead compartment and something slung on my shoulder, plus my handbag. Oh and duty free shopping bags.

I was stopped by customs in HK once; my friends suspect it was the number of pairs of sunglasses I had.

  126. JonJon says:

the boys learn the hard way AGAG

i think to the girls its more a natural thing..

every girl ive been on holiday with had a checklist and had different methods of making more room in suitcases like ironing knickers and shoving bras and sox in the shoes..

to lads its too much hassle..and you always end up losing something anyway..

the packing is not important..less packing more beer time..and you dont have to waste time after youve landed waiting to be the last one to find your suitcase on that conveyer belt thingy…

its just wasting time..the time youve spent fighting for you suitcase you could be sat on a beach on your 3rd cocktail.. 😉

  127. agirlagunner says:

I’m having rethink about Melo. I’d like someone likely to punch a teammate for giving the ball away.

  128. JonJon says:

melo is supposed to be a bit of a nutcase AGAG..

but apparently hes also hard work in the dressing room such is his temper AW cant man manage players like this too well..he like his players to stay quiet and stay in line…

  129. agirlagunner says:

Haha, WATH. Part of the fun is the checklist. there’s a method to the madness, Iust say. And I just always feel like “I’d die” if I didn’t bring that right pair of shoes. So I’d bring 5 pairs for a weekender. 7 pairs for a three day trip and so on…

It’s worth that third cocktail I think.

  130. Erick says:

Atleast i got tip on how to travel JJ piercing Ouch! Melo is a great player AGAG just wait and see him at the wc. Women and shopping

  131. Erick says:

Guys am calling it a nite see you morrow Peace

  132. JonJon says:

what interests me though erick is that if melo was that good why have they voted him worst signing of the year in italy…

hes spent along time in italian footy so it not as if he needs to adapt..

is it just the way juve have been playing him..???

cos he still gets rave reviews playing for brazil

  133. Erick says:

Dunga also pointed that out JJ for him to be effective he needs to play with a DM and in our case Song for Brazil it would be Gilberto Gdnt

  134. Erick says:

He is also not so skilled but got a Turbo Engine and a real fighter
