The Devil or the Deep Blue Sea?

Afternoon Roadsters.

What is the result that the Arsenal faithful wants to see this evening?

Would you rather see Man City win so they can get Champions League football and with their finances go on and sign the some of the best players in the world and fast track themselves into one of the strongest teamsΒ  or would you like to see ‘arry’s Spuds get fourth.

Morally I suppose it should be the Spuds at least they haven’t used outside investment to buy their way up the League, the somehow show a profit in their trading, but they are not holier than thou, the way they stole “One Day” Ramos from Sevilla and sacked Jol before a game without even telling the guy.

ButΒ  they may just be one season wonders like Everton in the Champions League and will disappear back down to where they came from.

Man City they are a different entity, they will carry on building and will sack and recruit until they are successful, they have already shown how ruthless they can be in the way they sacked Hughes, there is already talk of them unloading Tevez, Bridge and our old favourite Slaggybayor.

Who will I be supporting ??

Afternoon all. It was all looking a bit quiet.

Sorry I haven’t been around much but work is getting in the way of the mighty.
I even missed one and a half of our games, I just got out the loop. Perhaps that is healthier sometimes as I have read a lot of knee jerk reactions to our latest end of season collapse.

and good to see you Kelsey, I hope things are looking up mate.

  2. JonJon says:

    hi ave..

i had a post and was going to bang it up a bit later…

good to see you on the blog though..missed blogging with you

  3. K-TR7 says:

Hi avenell.i don’t care who wins since they are both devils.it may be a day late but happy birthday to Francesc Fabregas you are now 23.i think fab must really love us to be with us.his spirit in vieraesque:sprinting to score vs villa knowing he would tear his hamstring, playing with a broken leg vs barca when the game seemed lost and knowing he would miss the 2nd leg…i cannot describe how strong his presence is,its like a spirit.AW should build a team to ensure he wins countless medals his talent deserves.HAPPY BIRTHDAY CESC!

  4. Queen of Suburbia says:

    Have to go with City.

    1. Anyone but the Spuds
    2. Platini will see to it that they can’t just go out and buy everyone with his new wages/turnover ratio rules
    3. It might free up Hart.

  5. JonJon says:

im probabaly going to get strung up for this but i think it would do the club good of spurs knicked 3rd from us…

an end of season collapse and finishing behind the spuds would not be seen as a successful season..its our worst nightmare…

    it would force wengers hand..

three priorities for arsenal should be
    1-win a trophy
    2finish top of the league
    3 finish above spurs

if none of these objectives are achieved it should be seen as disaster

we havent improved at all from last season..weve lost three more games..the top 2 have got weaker and we still couldnt catch them and those behind have all got stronger and closed the gap..

  6. K-TR7 says:

Afternoon jj.i have waited for a post since i need a daily fix to all things arsenal here…to the fans hoping for villa get ready for ……chamackh!he has confirmed it already…AA has said that the article that said he is leaving for barca is a load of crap and that interview never happened.he also said Dennis Lachter is no longer his agent.AA-RVP-CHAMACK it is!

  7. JonJon says:

i still think ppl should not attend the fulham game.

  8. avenell says:

Hi QOS.. good points.. I just hate the Spuds that’s enough.

    KTR7 how are you mate?

JJ.. stick your post on later, this was a stop gap. I didn’t think it was worth going over all the points about the game tonight as I wanted to hear the veiws of others and see if the rivalry with the Marshlanders is still strong..

  9. JonJon says:

    hi qos..good to see you

    ktr

i no longer care for AA..at a time when heart and soul have been missing from the team hes been one of the worst culprits and he is experienced compared to the rest

if he wants to leave let him

  10. F.O.Y.S says:

Cant wish for Citeh to be in. Once in it will be hard to get them out plus there is plenty of comedy action to be had watching the neighbours from hell out of their tiny depth in the Champions league

  11. avenell says:

I’d let him go for Β£25 mill.. He will do a Hleb at Barca anyway… Doesn’t work hard enough.

  12. JonJon says:

yeah hes still got 3 years on his contract..under 30…still regarded as one of the worlds best..he shouldnt be cheap and we could get 2 warriors in for that price..

  13. th14 says:

I cannot imagine in my worst nightmares that the stains finish above us. How will I explain it to my son, who has NEVER seen those ***kers finish above us. Besides, with them in the CL it would devalue it so much that other teams would purposely try for the Europa league!Come on Citeh – even if you are aided by Adebaywhore. A Citeh draw or win and 3rd is ours!

  14. JonJon says:

citeh are the obvious choice to everyone

but if we dont reinforce in summer both teams could overtake us next season

  15. kirk says:

frankly i hope man city, beat spurs and make it to the champions league, at first i was totally against city making it into the champions league because of all the players they could attract, but now i’ve realised, even if they don’t make it this season it is just delaying the inevitable because eventually they will make it. they will just more and more players and bring in better and bigger managers. and at least we can still say to spurs fans, that we play in the champions league and they are still in the europa league

  16. ScotchEggsRUle says:

I hope for a 6-6 draw with 7 red cards lots of injuries then both teams coaches to plunge off a cliff on their respective journey’s home.

  17. A draw prefer spurs to get cl footie cos it won’t last past august.

  18. shedzy says:

Lets be honest about this, Citeh will get into the CL, if not this season then next; if they don’t get into it this year, then they will splash a lot of cash this summer and make sure that they do next year; if they don’t qualify this year then, having spent so much money, it will be vaguely amusing

Spurs, on the other hand, are having their best season since the Prem began, and if they finish 4th, it will probably make them think they are amazing, and then they iwll have to qualify for the CL over the summer, and then they will play twice a week like we do every year, for one season, and probably get knocked out of the group stage. I’d love to see that.

Hopefully a draw tonight to see us not need to win against Fulham, cos lets face it, we probably wont – even at home, and even though Fulham have a least one eye on the Europa Cup final. I really want to see Sperms get into the CL next year, and then be horribly humiliated.

  19. K-TR7 says:

Imagine the spuds qualifying for cl and due to low seeding they draw a romanian team in first qualifying rounds…it would be hilarious!but city have to go for it.the spuds only need a draw so its worth watching…

  20. Danish Gooner says:

Cherish next season in the cl it will be the last for some time.

  21. Coadsi says:

Really despise them both. QOS made some good points in support of citeh earlier.
The only thing i would add to what RS said earlier is Harry would also bankrupt them if they finish 4th (as he did portsmouth).

  22. Erick says:

Mmmh nice Question Ave. If a draw means we finish third then be it but I dont want spuds anywhere near the CL

  23. agirlagunner says:

Hello, all. The spuds, if only to see them climb heights and then plummet. Citeh are bound to do it anyway next year with their sugar daddy.

  24. JonJon says:

To be honest, I dont really care anymore..Our season has gone to shit so whoever achieves CL status wont really matter..

  25. agirlagunner says:

How different things were just a month ago… I know we have lost a number of key players, but we have been dreadful all around. No bottle, no heart, no ambition. Damn disheartening display.

  26. JonJon says:

    AGAG

It goes back to losing Cesc..He is the heartbeat of this team..Hes small but he has character..He’s a midget but hes a nasty little sod and hes a damn good player to boot..

Once we lot him we lost that bit of ‘Arsenal’..

    We lost our edge..

  27. JonJon says:

RVP is of the same nature..A good player with a nasty edge..

The PL is tough so having only a handful of players who can handle it is asking for trouble, especially when those players are injured

  28. Erick says:

JJ and Agag true we just have no gas we just weak and so exposed hate this feeling

  29. Suhail.TV says:

After noon all.. It’s much like asking.. if you prefer capital punishment or life long imprisonment.. What matters is we are f…ing out of the competition and sitting unemployed.. now..

  30. Erick says:

Stv am tired of being tired 😦 suckssss

  31. JonJon says:

If the spuds finish above us all hell will break loose..

  32. agirlagunner says:

Hear, hear, Erick. His heroics in the Villa, Stoke, Barcelona games are myth-making.

JJ, that’s why I’ve always liked RvP; hes class but can get nasty.

STV, yes, the devil and the deep blue sea.

  33. agirlagunner says:

JJ, and that will only be in keeping with our habit of imploding every season. It’s unthinkable, but it may just happen. And how are we gonna live that down?

  34. Erick says:

Tv might as well play with his injury JJ and Cesc too they are the only who seem to care

  35. Erick says:

Chamaka our saviour am sorry but I doubt 😦

  36. Suhail.TV says:

Wenger always feels the players are much younger to win any thing probably because he is too old..

  37. agirlagunner says:

Well. Chamakh will bring something different. He’s a good aerial threat and can hold up the ball well. I doubt he’ll be our savior, but TV5 was a revelation, right? Let’s hope Chamakh is that type of purchase.

  38. Suhail.TV says:

JJ if AA go to barca. He is gone.. No body’ll replace him what so ever. Oh may be some traores wellingtons or a new signing JET. So better to insert some cotton in his mouth and keep him here.

  39. Erick says:

TV is on a world of his own what a player what a sign 3 of that kind and we are set Agag

  40. avenell says:

Does anyone believe ‘arry’s bollox that if the spuds was to buy Belamy off West ham man city would have gazumped them to Palacous?

Or a pre match wind up….

  41. Erick says:

Stv he is replacable like the Mancs did with Ronaldo

  42. Erick says:

Ave thats a prematch vibe he is also trying not to get the spuds hope too so if they got beat he has a soft landing spot

  43. JonJon says:

arry speaks less sense than wenger sometimes

remember when he said his wife could finish better than bent

the same bent that hits 20 goals a season at every club hes been at barring spurs..

  44. Erick says:

JJ whats your view on Chamaka?

  45. Suhail.TV says:

Why he is called “chamaka” ! Erick!?

  46. agirlagunner says:

Harry says a lot of silly things. He’s like he’s son. How the latter is asked to commentate on shows is beyond me. What a milquetoast.

  47. Erick says:

Stv about gettin us the much needed trophy

  48. JonJon says:

    erick

i dont know…he seems to be another striker who runs the channels..which we dont need we need a finisher..

but the way i see it is that he cant do much worse than the strikers we have aready

other then robin and nikki i dont rate any of the others anymore..

and hes free..so it gives us extra cash to splash in other areas..

  49. Suhail.TV says:

Hai agag where you are no news abt you.. Back to normal today after yday?

  50. JonJon says:

    suhial

we call him chamkakakaka because we put his name and kaka’s name as 1 and it just stuck..

  51. agirlagunner says:

After tomorrow, I’m off to a mini-vacation, stv. I need it. I have had a hellish few months.

I’ve been watching Chamakh, he goes to ground a bit, but he scores good headers.

JJ, we just need Eduardo back. πŸ™‚ Saw the SFH thingie. That’s the sort of thing that amuses girls like me. Testosteronic tussles. Haha.

  52. JonJon says:

    AGAG

    lol

i must confess im one of the worst when it comes to blog scuffles…i thought i was pretty relaxed though yesterday..

compared to my record of run ins with bloggers that was nothing..

    lol

  53. Erick says:

JJ another Eboue guess the finishing and defence especially btwn the post we need to bring in someone

  54. Eddy says:

Iam not 100% sure that Tottenham haven’t had “outside investment”as,when you look at some of their spending, you have to question “where is the money coming from”…Joe Lewis.
    Bentley Β£15m
    Bent Β£17
    Modric Β£15
    Hutton Β£8!
Pavchenko Β£11m etc etc etc The list goes on and on and they have outspent on a net net basis for the last 10 years.

  55. Erick says:

Agag I envy you holiday πŸ˜‰ me may be December

  56. Eddy says:

    should have read “outspent us”

  57. agirlagunner says:

Nah, you were pretty cool. I only ever lost my temper in bloglandia once. Over Arsenal, of course, but in a Barcelona blog, of all places, where, I was, as to be expected, the minority.

That’s why I like this place. Trolls are few and far between. πŸ™‚

Oh and congrats on the bubba!

  58. agirlagunner says:

Erick, and next year, London! Yay!

  59. Erick says:

Eddy they have Russian links (MAFIA) πŸ˜‰

  60. JonJon says:

we need a few wariors in there..thats what we need..in goal in defence and in midfield and we should be alright..

but wenger always buys the technical players now and hes overloading the squad with pansies…

we need some tough bastards right through the spine of the team and we ready to rock and roll

  61. Erick says:

Agag just hide me in your hand bag because the visa thing is killing me 😦

  62. JonJon says:

    oh cheers AGAG..

  63. Erick says:

JJ true but we just have to hope Aw see’s things clearly and does what is required of him

  64. avenell says:

You need the snip JJ.. might calm you down a bit.. πŸ˜‰

  65. agirlagunner says:

I still need to sort out that same thing too, Erick! Haha. But I’ll make sure to bring my largest keepall so you’d have some space to move. I checked the Visa requirements to Oz, and it’s no less a headache.

JJ, by tough bastard, let’s not mean Robben or Sneijder or any other diver.

  66. K-TR7 says:

Why is AW teasing us with transfer talk everyday when we know he’ll do jack…now hes saying he is in the market for top class experienced players?yeah right where have i heard that before…he has also been saying for the past two seasons he will improve the defence…imagine if he surprises us to sign Buffon…sweet dreams…

  67. JonJon says:

avenell after recent events ive often thought about it.. πŸ˜‰

  68. JonJon says:

id take robben and sniejder AGAG as they have more creative edge than the likes of diaby theo denilson eboue..

in general i think the team needs a major over haul and if it were up to me only tv, sagna, cesc, song, rvp would survive the cull of first team players

    obviously id keep the kids

    but its not that easy..

  69. Erick says:

AGAG from Kenya to London is hell on earth from bank account to family to pets to first cousin middle and last to education to purpose of visit even accent to skin colour no offence but rubbish. JJ I would add Eboue to that list but as you say its tough

  70. JonJon says:

nah eboue adds nothing to the team..

  71. Matt says:

Spuds have bought their way up the league with a secretive billionaire backer. Yes they haven’t quite spent like Chelsea and City but they do spend well over the odds for what is a small club with a small fanbase, minimal history and a small tosshole of a ground.

  72. Erick says:

JJ Eboue the right back not the every position Eboue

  73. JonJon says:

ive heard about that guy Matt ive had this debate before with someone

Joe something or other..hes a billionaire on spurs board and he ploughs money into them every season

  74. Erick says:

JJ am calling it a night see you morrow and gdnt to all

  75. K-TR7 says:

According to sources melo deal back ON…

  76. JonJon says:

Eboue the RB is worth 8-10 mil and eboue the RB isnt even first choice..

hes not that good anyway..4 years of mediocre performance with a few good run outs sprinkled here and there..nothing worth shouting about..

  77. Erick says:

JJ you would have to blame Aw When Eboue played RB he was great but Aw had other ideas and messed him by shifting him

  78. JonJon says:

yeah i agree eboues career was wrecked by arsene trying to work miracles..night erick

im unsure about melo..i know nothing about him other than he was voted one of the worst players in italy and he gets rave reveiws for brazil..

  79. avenell says:

Right I’m back and watching the game.. Adebayor’s offside.. lol..

  80. JonJon says:

    spurs should be ahead

    they going to win this

    then theyll get third

  81. avenell says:

Citeh will win if they take the bargain buy Ade off.

  82. avenell says:

The ref will decide this one, he’s crap…

  83. JonJon says:

how would you feel if we lost 3rd to spuds??

mixed emotions or it doesnt cross your mind..

  84. avenell says:

We won’t we will get a draw against Fulham and scrape it on goal difference..

  85. avenell says:

    Vieira.. whoa whoho… Destiny…

  86. avenell says:

That fat f***er should be off..

  87. JonJon says:

    love it if he scored..

  88. avenell says:

From the half way line … revenge would be sweet.. πŸ˜‰

  89. JonJon says:

hundredstone is a pile of shite but he can pick a pass…and he dont get bullied..

suppose that makes him better than diaby and denilson πŸ˜‰

  90. JonJon says:

id take tevez…although wages would be a problem now…

its always the problem trying to take chelsea or citeh castoffs..

cant give them the wages they were getting before

its why weve got no chance of getting joe cole

  91. avenell says:

I don’t like Cole… diving cheating b’stard.. AA is turning into a Tevez money making machine..

  92. JonJon says:

if theres anyone id take from spurs it would be modric..

  93. avenell says:

Yeah agreed… We should have used Dudu as bait..

  94. avenell says:

    He’s deformed that Crouch..

  95. JonJon says:

    his birds not… πŸ˜‰

  96. JonJon says:

    neither is his bank account

  97. avenell says:

Depends on Crouch’s shoe size.. πŸ˜‰

  98. JonJon says:

kings a class act though..shame hes always crocked.. πŸ˜‰

  99. avenell says:

He’ll be in a wheelchair by the time he is 40…. thanks ‘arry..

  100. JonJon says:

    shit

    told ya..

  101. avenell says:

    That is seriously serious…

  102. JonJon says:

    hey up RSD

just in time to see a spuds win.. 😦

  103. JonJon says:

we wont beat fulham…we are in freefall

we going to lose 3rd i tell ya..

  104. JonJon says:

    this cant happen…

  105. least city wont be in cl
and ‘arry will sign a load of players
    on the fiddle and spurs
and ‘arry will get sent down lol

  106. fulham are losing to stoke and have to play madrid on wed so weekend team
aw might go all defensive for the draw that would do it

  107. JonJon says:

    spurs in CL??

    wow

  108. JonJon says:

    can we go defensive??

  109. JonJon says:

    bentley in CL.. OMG

  110. avenell says:

    Jenas… lol..

  111. lasanga all round needed

  112. JonJon says:

    crouch???

imagine the euro refs..they will have a field day with him

on second thoughts lets have spurs in CL..watch em crash and burn

  113. avenell says:

    I feel sick.. 😦

  114. JonJon says:

    mancini sacked..another 300mil spent

  115. avenell says:

Who can they attract if they sack him?? no decent manager would lower themselves.

  116. on crap they’ll never sign anyone great till they get cl

  117. JonJon says:

    3rd up for grabs..

weve got to pull our fingers out..

  118. hope so cos quali really fucks pre spec after wc
    anyways

    always a pleasure…

  119. 4th and they have just cum in there pants…

  120. K-TR7 says:

We’ll get third.hate to say it but the spuds deserve it…

  121. i hope so
is it still no seedings next season for the quali’s as like this year

  122. K-TR7 says:

Lets see how they handle two games a week…

  123. JonJon says:

the spuds will crash and burn next season..they’ll have first season syndrome where they cant mix the two comps together..they’ll go all out in the CL and cock up in the PL

  124. JonJon says:

    post of newness.
