If he goes, my support for Arsenal could to…..

I know I could never stop supporting Arsenal, so its more like any support I have for the manager now will go if he sells Little Jack.

Jack Wilshere is one of the best players we have seen come through the ‘youth project’ at Arsenal. Yes Cesc and Clichy are pretty good, but we all know we stole them at an early age, at an age when everyone could see that they had what it takes.

Wilshere is different, he’s English, he’s London born and bred and he is ours – but for how long?

This lad was born in Stevenage, Hertfordshire and he joined our academy in 2001, he was nine years old. He wasn’t plucked from Barca or any other overseas club…

At 15yrs old he was named captain of the under 16’s team, even then he had the odd game for the under 18’s thanks to Steve Bould

Jack scored his first goal against Aston Villa Under-18s in a 4-1 win, he then went on to score a hat-trick against Watford Under-18s, helping his side to an Academy Group A title.

In February 2008, he made his debut for Arsenal Reserves against Reading.

Wilshere played in the Under-16s victory in the Atalanta Cup, being named as player of the tournament, he also played an important role in Arsenal’s 2009 FA Youth Cup win, scoring goals in the semi final and producing a man-of-the-match display in the first leg of the final against Liverpool, assisting 2 goals and scoring himself.

In July 2008, Wilshere was selected in the first team for the pre-season friendlies. He made his first team debut against Barnet as a half-time substitute for Henri Lansbury, setting up a goal for Jay Simpson. Wilshere scored his first two goals for Arsenal in a 10–2 win against a Burgenland XI, and again two days later in a friendly against Stuttgart.

Jack made his competitive debut in a Premier League match against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in September 2008, he was an 84th-minute substitute for Robin van Persie.
At the age of 16 years and 256 days, he was Arsenal’s youngest-ever league débutant, a record previously held by Cesc Fàbregas. Ten days later, on 23 September, he scored his first Arsenal goal in a 6-0 victory against Sheffield United in the Football League Cup.

Wilshere has been a substitute in in the Champions League and he played in the Emirates Cup last year, helping us to retain the trophy, our only trophy these days it seems!!

This season though he has been at Bolton, playing alongside the tough guys in football. It seems he has bulked up a bit and his attitude portrays that of a player that wants to win at all costs. I don’t honestly believe he cares who he pisses off along the way.

Remember when Cesc made his comment to Mark Hughes? Well I wouldn’t be at all surprised to hear Jack Wilshere to ask the same kind of question, he has little fear.

This lad is a footballer, some suggest the ‘new Liam Brady’ – I know we all rate him very very highly, I hope that Wenger does to, for his own sake!! This man is ours, he needs to remain ours, he is the best thing we have seen coming through the ranks at Arsenal for a while…

The next move for Jack Wilshere is to come home in two weeks time, have a break, keep fit and train hard through the summer and then stake your place in the Arsenal first team…. He needs to play, for us, not another team.

Will Wenger think differently???

Sell him to Bolton Arsene and do so at your own peril, I for one will never ever forgive you and I’m sure I speak for most fans out there to…..

    Morning all

  2. rico says:

Arsène Wenger is already assessing where his team went wrong this season and he does not believe Arsenal’s problems stem from midfield.

The Frenchman adopted a 4-3-3 formation at the start of the campaign and Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Abou Diaby and Denilson have made the majority of starts in those three midfield berths.

That quartet have contributed 33 goals between them while Song has developed into an outstanding defensive midfielder, but some believe Wenger should strengthen his midfield options this summer.

As ever the manager is being urged to unearth the ‘new Patrick Vieira’. However, Wenger thinks that might be an impossible task.

“First of all I must say that no matter how much money you spend to find a Patrick Vieira [it is hard to do],” he said. “Since I am in England, I hear ‘this is the new Patrick Vieira’ when a guy is tall and strong.

“But I believe strongly that our midfield are developing very well with Song, Diaby and Denilson because they are young, very young, but different to Patrick Vieira.

“I believe in them because if you compare them two years ago and this year they are tremendously improved and if they continue to play together, especially with Fabregas, they have a good understanding.

“I believe the midfield was not a problem this year because we created so many chances from midfield and we dominated nearly all the games in midfield. I don’t think we had a big problem in there. I believe we had a problem of efficiency defensively.”

    What utter clap trap!!

  3. James says:

Why do think wenger will sell him
to Bolton? Loan maybe, but there’s been no doubt over the players long term future at arsenal. I’d loan him to Bolton again until
January and then slot him straight back in the team for our run in. I’d also give him bonus payments for every kick he gets in on Kevin Davis during training.

  4. rico says:

david c and fat mike, the only ones going are you, please shut the door behind you, idiots!!

  5. gaya says:

i guess u really strongly looking 4 something usefull to talk about. do we need to contribute? i hope not

  6. K-TR7 says:

Morning rico.jack will not be sold, calm down.if AW doesn’t see the midfield problem…

  7. Doublegooner says:

There have been rumours circulating for a year that Wenger finds Wilshire ‘difficult’

Last year he ‘disappeared’ from the 1st team. Supposedly he had a strop when I think he was a sub but never played & asked his parents to take him home instead of going back in the coach with the team.

Wenger may find him not being a lapdog like some of his other babies who he rewards with large contract ( Denilson) & someone on the coaching staff has said that he wouldnt be suprised if Wenger was to seel him if he ‘played up’

Well Wenger, the kid is a genuis. Players like this have strong personalities. Do what Ferguson would do…MANAGE HIM !!

  8. Good to be a GOONAH!! says:

Er… who said anything about selling Jackie. What nonsense. He is going nowhere. Try to avoid red top newspapers…

  9. rico says:

    Morning James,

I am not saying he will sell him, but….

Look at some of the players he chooses not to play, but then continues with Diaby and Denilson.

He is doing well at Bolton, he should have been doing that for us – what is the difference, the opposition are all the same…

  10. rico says:

Morning DG, a sensible comment and a great point well made, Fergie is a great man manager, I am not so sure AW has such qualities..

AA wouldn’t be saying half the things in the press if Fergie was his boss. Why is Vela not being played, another one who has possibly ‘upset’ the boss, Theo was another, he played in the under21 and the big boys so Wenger didnt play him…

    Its the team that suffer…

  11. rico says:

    GTBAG… Please!!

  12. Tom14 says:

I think you will find that Diaby and Denilson are excellent players. If they were on loan at Bolton they would have done a hell of a lot better than Jack, whi is a brilliant young player, by the way.

This post is a bit OTT.

  13. James says:

I think wenger is cautious with hype surrounding players. Song is important defensively so jack couldn’t replace him. Denilson, well…. He needs to work on his defence if that’s where wenger sees him, and diaby I think has potential. He’s one of those awkward players, never understand quite how he keeps the ball at his feet for so long, but when he passes it’s like he’s shut his eyes and gambling. I think jack benefits from the physical aspect of Bolton game, and owen coyle has adopted a better approach than previous (fat Sam) managers but the players are still the same, they protect him. I think jack would be targeted playing for us, making diaby and song important due to their strength.

I’d love to see wenger try him, but he’d need a run of games which I don’t think wengers ready to offer.

  14. Ralph says:

Rico – you’re just making it up.

Walcott got injured playing for England which is why he didn’t feature for a while. Vela has rarely shown enough to justify a place despite his undoubted talent and there is zero chance of Wenger selling Jack. Most of what Arshavin has ‘said’ is simply mischief in translation and finally, the story of Jack getting his parents to take him home is simply not true. Jack has been frustrated at not playing but he needs game time to get up to the level he needs to be at and that is what is happening now.

  15. rico says:

James, I’d love to see him involved in our pre-season and the emirates cup, see just how much he has come on. I know he’s young but so was rooney when he started.

I’m not a fan of Denilson, I know he has scored a few great goals and very important ones but he is pretty slow…

  16. Spanner says:

We don’t need to be thinking about young players right now. We need to be thinking about experienced internationals, preferably french or french speaking, like Silvestre or Djourou. Ones with prooven experience at the toppest level.

We on Le Grove know that the inbalance with all them english players have cost us the title. Another english player amongst all the frenches will cost us dear.

  17. rico says:

    Is that right Ralph!!

If most of what AA has ‘said’ is mischief, why has Arsene said he is upset by his comments…. mme!

  18. rico says:

Oh, and read the post again, I haven’t said AW is selling him, I am saying if he does, any respect I have for AW would go…

    IF, people IF!!

  19. Baz says:

This is a non story. Arsenal have no intention of selling Wilshere to Bolton.

  20. rico says:

Spanner, who are you trying to ridicule??

  21. Erick says:

Morning all the mf requires one addition a flamini kind of player Aw is losing the plot guys AW may just pay bring in Chamaka and that will be it pure crap

  22. rico says:

Baz – have i said there is intention?? Its an IF, same as a few other british prospects, this coming season it would be good to see a few get their cahnc in their rightful position. Not suggesting they start against the likes of the chavs, but when a game is in the bag, bring them on…

  23. patthegooner says:

Diaby is a potential excellent player and on his day he shows it

Can’t agree with you on Denilson, he is a lap dog and will never make the grade at Arsenal despite being given chance after chance after chance. God knows how many appearances he has had for Arsenal, but I could count on one hand how many of them have been good enough.

As for outperforming Jack at Bolton. Did you see the Bolton Vs Man Ure game. Jack was Bolton’s best player and unlike anyone in an Arsenal shirt this season, he got right amongst the Manc players and unsettled them. Jack is a terrier and has a winning attitude and we need more of that in the Arsenal 1st team. He should at least be given the same run of the green as Denilson.

  24. Erick says:

Rico Jack needs games and AW would never sell him that said though a player who is talented as Jack should be brough back and given games he is ready especially going one on one with defenders

  25. Spanner says:

Denilson is world class. Wilshere is not there yet.

  26. K-TR7 says:

Im glad some of you aren’t managers.if wilshere played and cost us a game he would get slaughtered the same way our fans slaughter the likes of song.some players are strong mentally but some collapse so its good to be cautious…

  27. chris says:

    Complete bollox!!

‘Van Persie is off IF Wenger signs Messi because we wants the centre striker role’

Must be a slow news day

  28. rico says:

morning pat and against the chavs he gave JT a torrid time.

    Morning Erick, totally agree 🙂

  29. Erick says:

Diaby is an on and off player. He is especially off in big games we need a player who can go all the way if only AW had given Flamini the cash

  30. rico says:

    morning ktr7

spanner, if denilson is world class, why does he not play for his country?

  31. Erick says:

Spanner we are not Hull or Wolves this is the Arsenal and Denilson is so average

  32. Avashnee says:

I with you on that Rico. An English player will grow roots, which is what we need. I take nothing away from the multitude of foreign talent. Im not from the uk but you have to invest in local, home bred talent.

  33. rico says:

Erick – agree re diaby, but he blows hot and cold and on too many occassions – look at the barca first leg, he was so poor it was like having ten men from the off…

  34. Spanner says:

Denilson does not play for his country because bloggers like you keep slating him.

  35. rico says:

morning chris, you are right, what you have just written is bollox 😉

  36. K-TR7 says:

Our mf needs a terrier type of player to be complete.offensively our mf is among the best but we are often caught napping defensively.in games when we are ahead we look nervous and naive even when 3 goals up.sometimes we need to soak pressure and hit on the counter as the invincibles did effectively.our pressing also leaves alot to be desired…

  37. rico says:

ha ha spanner, you think we bloggers have an impact on the Brazil national football team, top comment 🙂

  38. Spanner says:

No rico, I think selectors have an impact on the Brazil national football team. And given that they select the shite Melo who did sweet fa against Fulham, they need to spend less time on the blogs and more time watching football matches.

  39. rico says:

Ava, the right mix is all most want both in players and experience.

Erick, spot on, we are Arsenal, fighting at the top, not for surival…

We don’t see transfer gossip saying the top clubs are tapping up denilson or diaby do we???

  40. StratfordGooner says:

What’s the point of this article? “If he were to sell him?” We may well as well have an article headlined “My support for Wenger would go if he swapped Mido for Fabregas”……total waste of space article.

  41. rico says:

spanner, on a gloomy rainy day, you are making me smile, thank you 🙂

  42. Spanner says:

    Denilson is the pass king.

  43. Spanner says:

We need to get rid of the injured players:

    VP –> Madrid
    Gallas –> Eurostar
    Arshavin –> Barca

    Nolan <– Newcastle
    Parker <– West Ham
    Bramble <– Wigan

  44. K-TR7 says:

Barca won 4-1 thanks to messi(2),bojan and xavi.

  45. rico says:

Spanner – Gallas yes, AA, if he doesn’t shut up he can go, but RvP, nah, I’d keep him… I would sell Denilson to 😉

Parker – in a shot, great player but WH say he is the only player they won’t sell sadly

  46. Erick says:

Startford goon the purpose of the article is to inform you that Jack is a local talent who will not get in the squad Arsenal squad to warm the bench so its a possibility his displeasure may get the best of him hence he will go

  47. Spanner says:

Nah Rico – Denilson is the spine.

  48. rico says:

Thank you Erick, that is exactly it … Its Jack who will get fed up with waiting for his chance, he’s good enough now….

Spanner, we will have to agree to disagree about Denilson 😉

  49. patthegooner says:

Denilson does not play for his country because bloggers like you keep slating him.

Spanner, that has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever read on any blog ever

Are you telling me that Dunga selects the Brazil squads based on the opinions of Bloggers?

Or is it because Denilson is very average and would struggle to get in the Faroe Islands Squad?

  50. Maggie says:

Terrible post, just terrible. Not just because you are shit-stirring and Jack isn’t going anywhere (least of all Bolton), but also because you would withdraw your support for Arsenal. A club with over a hundred years of history due to the sale of one player.

And don’t come back with “oh but i only said i’d withdraw my support for Arsene”. Read your title. All you want is hits. You got mine today. Well done. But you won’t be getting it again.

I don’t block many Arsenal sites because i appreciate the diversity in comment, but you’ve just joined Le Grove in my book.

And learn how to spell properly. “To” should be “too”.

  51. Deal_in_FACTS! says:

Spanner by name spanner by nature…

Denilson doesnt get picked by Brazil becuase of bloggers????

Apologetic rubbish. I hope that statement was a joke – Denilson is garbage. End of. You would think with the amount of games he gets at Arsenal he would be more than capable of making a case to break into the Brazil squad on his own merit, i.e. through his performances! The fact that he cannot speaks volumes. To say that he is not international class because of internet bloggers is beyond belief.

Perhaps you should be the manager of Brazil, Spanner?

  52. Spanner says:

What do you mean patthegooner ?

    You cannot be serious.

  53. Spanner says:

We would have won the league had Denilson not been injured.

  54. patthegooner says:

    I am very serious Spanner.

Do you think any other club in the top 6 in the PL would sign Denilson??

No Chance, in fact I doubt that if you put him up for sale tomorrow, any other club in the PL would look to buy him, or even sign him if he was on a free.

The guy is close to useless,

  55. rico says:

Spanner, we would have probably had more chance of winng the league if we hadn’t had to play denilson, had song been available for all the games, we would have been far better off…

  56. rico says:

    pat – Faroe Islands 😆

  57. patthegooner says:

Spanner I take it you are on a wind up

  58. rico says:

Thank you Maggie, I hold Le Grove in high esteem, so to be ‘up there with them’ is a huge compliment,

as for the spelling, this is a blog site, not a peice of english for an exam, grow up please!!

No-one has your arm up your back, go somewhere else and leave your insults!! Maybe your own blog would be the best place!!

  59. Spanner says:

You are all ganging up on me now. I don’t like it.

  60. K-TR7 says:

I remember when denilson arrived he looked a great prospect,a new cesc if you may, but…

  61. Martha Focker says:

why are Arsenal fans so stoooopid?

  62. rico says:

KTR7, i think many thought he would be the ‘new cesc’ – maybe thats half the problem, wenger has changed his natural game and now he’s neither arthur or martha …

  63. rico says:

ganging up spanner, hardly, just some don’t agree, its a democratic world, we don’t have to agree…

i can’t see what you see in denilson….

  64. Erick says:

Spanner am not but what your saying is a 9th wonder of the world 🙂

  65. gambon says:

Theres no danger of LJW being sold, he will play 300 games for us, mainly in the Cesc role.

He is the best England player of his generation, and probably the only English player of that age that will ever have a shot at the Ballon D’or.

Although I think a loan could do him good next season.

  66. rico says:

MF, plese eleborate if you expect any kind of answer??

  67. K-TR7 says:

Den will never be a dm but AW screwed with him.its all about square pegs and round holes…nasri/AA/rosicky/bendy are no wingers, traore is not an lb,almunia is no gk…

  68. rico says:

Morning gambon, hope your right, my worry is that Jack has had the taste of playing week in week out, he loves it. How long will he wait around for Wenger to give him his chance…

  69. Doublegooner says:

Some of you are wrong if you believe Arshavin has been misquoted on everything.

When AA first arrived here, was living in a hotel in Elstree.

My mate, who is a diehard Goon sat & had coffee with him as he freely signed various items of memrobilia.

During their conversation he said he was shocked at the number of injuries to players & how easily they got the. He said he had never known anything like it before.

  70. rico says:

Thats just what we were talking about the other day KTR7, Wenger gets these players in and makes them play all over the place, Nik a winger?? No in a million years, AA a lone striker, No way..

Buy the right players and play them in their natural position… It isn’t rocket science, but for wenger it is…

  71. gambon says:

    “almunia is no gk…”

    Amen to that!

Thats why i think we should loan him out again, maybe to west ham if they stay up. He could still train with us a couple of days a week, like Szczesny does.

He will be 19 at the start of 11/12, which is perfect age to start playing regularly. I think we forget just how young he is.

  72. paul says:

Pathetic article. A ridiculous premise with no basis in fact simply to grab attention.

  73. rico says:

gambon, just hope wenger can manage him properly and talk to him about his future if he goes on loan again, would love him to go to the hammers and learn from zola…

Good to see you here by the way, and PTG – I keep meaning to pop over for an hour but been busy 😦

  74. rico says:

gambon, just going on from that, there is sometimes the exception to the age rule, i think jack is one, like rooney and owen. they were good enough at an early age and were trusted, i just wish wenger would take that knd of risk with jack in a few games for us… blton weren’t afraid to stick him in against manure or the chavs, why is wenger sometimes so reluctant i wonder…

  75. Herts_Gooner says:

What tosh… I am friends with Jack’s older sister, Rosie, they live around the corner from us in Hitchin.

There is no way Jack is leaving Arsenal, he doesn’t want to go, Wenger will not sell him in a million years either.

He needs to prove he has toughened up, as in all fairness, he hasn’t looked like making an impact at our level this year. He has grown in stature for performances over time at Bolton, but he wasn’t even a regular for them at first. Personally, I’d give him 6 months out on loan and see how he comes back to us in Janary.

  76. Goonermo says:

If Arsene wenger sends fabregas out on loan to Manchester united next season, My support for him will go.
What is the point of this article?

  77. rico says:

DG, i don’t think AA knows when to shut up, i wouldn’t care if we sold him to be honest as long as he was replaced with the right player…

  78. Warning to Arsene Wenger, DO NOT SELL JACK WILSHERE, under any circumstantancies, thank you.

  79. David C says:

So because I disagree with you, you pull my post? It looks as though I am not the only one. The Newsnow hide button gets clicked again.

  80. rico says:

Herts Gooner, thats good to hear, my concerns were, and you would know if you had read through, Jack would get itchy feet having played regular football…

  81. rico says:

David, disagree all you like, insult and you don’t come on – we are all Arsenal fans, and no insults are needed or wanted here…

  82. Erick says:

True Rico also feel JW is ready he just needs to start or be the first sub Aw has to do he had it when he was 16 he is ready

  83. rico says:

Goonermo, if you read it and the comments you may just answer your own question….

  84. gambon says:

I certainly think he would do as good, if not a better job than Theo if played wide. He is also a lot tougher than he looks.

Like you say, there needs to be some communication from Wenger to let Jack know he is gonna be in the first team at some point, so he doesnt feel unwanted.

I figured i should try and spread my (sometimes excessive) views throughout blog land. Im also trying to locate Sabeel, who has done a lord lucan!

  85. K-TR7 says:

Wilshere should take ramsey’s role in the squad while he recovers.he and djorou shouldn’t be included in the 25 man squad since it is effectively a 23 man.AW should learn this in light of TR7/Eddy injuries and how they broke down after being out for large spells…

  86. rico says:

Erick, true, jack can change a game, he is not afraid to shoot from distance and has the skill and trickery to get passed anyone… but no, AW would rather bring on Eboue and play him left midfield… 😦

  87. rico says:

On no, does that mean someone else gets 1st these days 😉 hope you track him down, he hasn’t been on here, yet – if he does i will pass on your concerns..

  88. Erick says:

Gonner mo Cesc is an established star how dare you compare him with Jack. Paul is English that hard thought i had probem but LOL

  89. gambon says:

Ramsey will be back for the start of the season.

Both Ramsey & Wilshere dont count in the 25 man squad.

  90. rico says:

Erick, I didn’t even give the comment any reply, its far to off the wall…. even for me 😉

  91. Erick says:

I dislike the Idea of Eboue’s double role in the right wing yet we can get a better option but he has been better this season

  92. TC says:

‘Denilson is world class’ – you complete and utter **********. That is the funniest statement I’ve seen in years. The guy is championship standard, awful. He must be giving Wenger some ‘special services’ to even get a game he’s so rubbish. If Wenger thinks our midfield is strong enough then we don’t just need new players, we need a new manager!

  93. chris says:

If Wilshere must get game a game everyweek with Arsenal, then start him in goal.
He can’t do any worse than those other two idiots!!!

  94. rico says:

Arsene Wenger is treading a tight rope right now, if he sorts the squad out in the summer, he stays on, if he doesn’t i think a few fans will be calling for a fresh new start…. Not all of course as so many love arsene regardless 😉 😉

  95. 4pigs says:

    Morning Rico and all
The post is your opinion right? If others dont like it then either they should challenge it or give theirs. That why we all blog.
What morons bother to post that they dont like something? lmao!
Wonder if they read books/watch films they dont like as well!

  96. rico says:

😆 chris, but i feel he would be a little worse, not a lot mind you…

  97. Erick says:

Rico 😉 😉 Gambon hope Ramsey does not loose it like Dudu if he comes back fine Diaby will warm the bench

  98. rico says:

Morning 4pigs, you have been missed…

    I like the analogy 🙂

  99. barry the gooner says:

very very suspicious re spanners comments on denilson
are they “connected” in some way????? talk about a spanner in the works!!!

  100. rico says:

To be fair on Eboue Erick, he has been pretty good this season, i think its since Lardy left… But as you say, he isn’t a winger, he a bloody good RB and thats where he should be played, but we have had desperate times this season, desperate measures i guess….

  101. rico says:

I hope Diaby gets to warm the tea pot, not the bench Erick… 😉

Rambo is young and strong, he’ll be ready….

  102. Mustang says:

Wilshere ahead of denilson for me… i think had shown that he is tough enough for the EPL.

Spanner is on a wind up. One of those bloggers who say things to get noticed.

  103. Erick says:

Funny enough Chris and Rico Aw may just blow it up he doesn’t talk about the need of a goalkeeper and claims the midfield is good Rico guess this is it for him

  104. 4pigs says:

Yeah sorry but i get cross when people go onto sites purely to insult – what a bloody waste of time. If they are so shit hot why dont they run their own site?

    Chris – priceless comment!!

  105. rico says:

    Morning Mustang,

    There’s a few around like that 😉

I’d play him instead of Denilson, any day of the week…

  106. rico says:

Unless he is going to throw Chesney in next season Erick?? But then that smacks in the face of not playing Wilshere as he is too young then… He needs to buy a top keeper, and before the WC imho

  107. Erick says:

4pigs howdy its been a while some bloggers are so mannerless

  108. rico says:

Thats too much work for them 4pigs, some think its tough to insult, whilst sat in the safety of their own homes in fron of a computer… In a pub they would get a bop on the nose!!

  109. Mustang says:

And for the rest of you moaners, it’s ok to disagree with others opinions, we don’t always agree on this blog but that doesn’t mean we insult each other and yell abuse.

It’s complete laziness hurling insults without having a constructive argument against others opinions

  110. rico says:

dave – stick your spell check where the sun doesn’t shine…. Tooooooooooooooo Anal!!!!

  111. 4pigs says:

    Hi Erick

I dont know why they bother. Anyway i have got it off my chest now. Until the next one….. LMAO!

  112. rico says:

Thanks Mustang, some people just cant do that though, its ok to tell me how many O’s should be in the headline, but when it comes to football they do nothing but insult…

    I personally couldn’t give a flying one about how many O’s go where…. 🙂

  113. rico says:

barry the gooner, welcome on board, i haven’t a clue who spanner is, but his name does suggest he/she is on a mission.

  114. Mustang says:

    Morning Rico,

I trully believe Wilshere is ready and I like a bit of character that he has. If wenger chooses to let him go because he has character then he will regret letting a potential world beater go, but I can’t see our Jack going anywhere. Future Arsenal legend.
Most great players have that bit of cockiness that bothers on arrogance and there is nothing wrong with that.

  115. Erick says:

Mustang nice point enough of the Loan get him into the action many players got their chance it Jack’s time

  116. rico says:

I did this post after mulling over something JJ said a few days ago, something like knowing wenger he will sell jack…

that worries me big time, we all know he is one of the best to come through in years, but he wants to play football now, he wants to be settled at a club now – if wenger doesn’t manage him properly…. is jack a hammers fan???

  117. rico says:

Morning TC, i did a little bit of editing on your comment, just taking away the name calling … 😉

no direct insulting on here please, thanks

  118. gambon says:

Yeah hes a big west ham fan, hence why sending him there would keep him happy. It would knock a couple £m off teh price for Scott Parker too!!

I think most of our youths are a little overrated after winning to youth cup, but no doubt Jack is the real deal. Arsene can see this (I hope).

I fully expect Barazite, Simpson, Murphy, Sunu, Watt, JET, Randall, Ayling to be sold on at some point.

Eastmond, Lansbury, Coquelin have a chance if they improve, but Wilshere is miles better than all of them.

  119. Erick says:

Gambon the youth set up sometime confuses me. AW thinks Joe cole is intresting

  120. gambon says:

We wont be signing Joe Cole, not in a million years.

  121. rico says:

ah but gambon, he may enjoy wearing the colours of his boyhood club, and that’s what worries me 😦

Sunu has just signed a new contract, i think he ‘might’ be a good one..

Barazite has done well since his return from injury and that might be why wenger isn’t fussed over merida, randall though will never make it with us..

  122. rico says:

free and crocked gambon, has wenger written all over it 😉 the only thing that might put wenger off is he’s english ….

  123. rico says:

Off for a bit, see you in an hour or so….

    keep it friendly 😉

  124. Erick says:

I like him but he is injury prone and also has some off days

  125. patthegooner says:

I think Joe Cole would be a good signing.

And he is on a free. I think Wages would stop us from doing it though.

  126. Mustang says:

Gambon, I actually have high hopes for Watt, JET and Lansbury. I hope they get their chance.

  127. ros says:

i watched jack yesterday on the pc he played well and he done kabeoul got carded for it,nice one jack, but he needs another season on loan otherwise he will sit on bench learning nothing one more season he will be ready for a 1st team place, its a back up for song we need and defense back up and goalie RED ARMY

  128. gambon says:

    Cole is good.

But the simple fact of the matter is Utd, City & Spurs would all offer more money than us, and a 3 year contract.

Being 29 in November means Wenger would offer him a 2 year deal max.

  129. Erick says:

    Take care Rico

  130. gambon says:

Lansbury maybe. He needs to take a step up, and basically do more when he’s on the ball.

Watt is a tough & tenacious player, but hasnt the talent needed for us.

JET is just a lazy show-pony. Defnately has skills, but he can only play one position in a 4-3-3, and doesnt really have any position in a 4-4-2.

  131. Erick says:

Citeh would give him a good pay package and may be a four year deal but their is no question over his ability

  132. Erick says:

Have also heard great things about Freeman Gambon what you think, he was included in the champions league squad AW rates him

  133. LewisD:) says:

I certainly hope he doesn’t leave he has a very bright future 🙂
I think one top notch player for our midfield could be the difference for us next season, keep denilson, diaby, and song they’ll improve

  134. patthegooner says:

I think Citeh is where he will end up.

Might free up Ireland though, who I also think would be a terrific signing.

  135. gambon says:

Yeah Freeman has come on leaps and bounds, reminds me of craig bellamy with a bit less craziness.

I think the ones who have a huge chance of making it are Szczesny, Wilshere & Afobe.

Outside of that its a bit of a lottery. They will all be good footballers, but most wont make it in the prem, let alone at Arsenal.

  136. gambon says:

Stephen Ireland would be an awesome signing.

    The new Roy Keane IMO

  137. craig says:

i could’nt agree more with this post, wilshire is up their and wud do a fantastic job in arsenal’s first team, i love wenger 2 death but id never forgive him if he sold him, id be devastated. we need to buy 3 new players with chamakh which is four and where gonna be there, gk, cb, dm.

  138. Erick says:

Aw reckons we are great in mf I also thought so but Diaby has let me down so wouldn’t mind Ireland. Chesney for me is the real deal especially now where we have a disaster in goal

  139. Erick says:

Craig AW has not mentioned Goalkeeper in the same sentence with signing or new so am not getting my hopes high at all he will buy 2 players maximum

  140. Sid says:

    Top Post mate..

  141. Erick says:

Sid you wonder why people are hating

  142. mrswoo says:

What leads you to believe that he would sell Jack. I think it’s extremely unlikely. Especially with the new ‘home grown rules’ coming into play next season.

    Don’t wind yourself up.

  143. agirlagunner says:

Rico, you have a post on your hands, with this one. 🙂 It’s context, people. This was brought up in yesterday’s discussion.

I can’t see us selling Jack. He’s too full of real promise (as opposed to imaginary — as in what is to be found in say… Denilson?). He does remind me of a young..er Cesc (he’s still young, our Cesc) with the Hughes and Ballack incidents.

  144. rico says:

Afternoon peoples, thanks Sid and craig 😉

AGAG, had popped off shopping, hadn’t gone for a tipple 😉 😉

I can’t see us selling Jack either, but we have seen the way AW lets great players leave..

  145. Erick says:

Agag what up and Mr spanner realy got it into the spanners 🙂 if that makes sense Denilson is world class

  146. gambon says:

Yep, i too was mortified to see Cygan leave 🙂

  147. rico says:

Welocme to those just joined AR

mrswoo, what makes you think i am getting wound up?? I’m not I can assure you.. 😉

  148. rico says:

😆 gambon, and Stepavanos (spelling) 😉

  149. Erick says:

Mrs Woo its a legitimate concern and Jack has said he won’t be joining the Arsenal bench

  150. Erick says:

    Chelsea leading the dippers

  151. rico says:

Erick, thats what some miss, jack has said, he wants to play, play at arsenal… BUT he has said he won’t sit on the bench….

    Don’t worry people say….. 😉

  152. rico says:

Chavs could be 4 up by now, dippers are just starting to find their feet a little….

  153. Erick says:

Yeah Rico people say 😉 so a win for the pensioners means the get the league

  154. agirlagunner says:

Hallo, rico and Erick. Did a spot of shopping myself. I realized I had no reasonable shoes.

I don’t see Jack getting many games at Arsenal just yet. Although next season will be a good time to test his development since Rambo shall be sidelined a fair bit.

  155. agirlagunner says:

Spanner was on GG, Erick. Hehe…

  156. Erick says:

May be Agag but may be harder stuff 😉 hope Wath is cool have not heard from him Rico how is the sailor may be he too is spanned. Ladies and shoes two pairs are enough 🙂

  157. Erick says:

    Dippers 2 down

  158. rico says:

agag, i had to go get a few things as off for a few days to the coast – the dogs will learn to swim 😉

I think the sailor said he was busy this weekend but back about tomorrow hopefully – he’s probably on the GG too 🙂

  159. rico says:

Erick, think the chavs have it in the bag now, oh how i wish that was us….

This time next year it will all be so different…. 😳

  160. agirlagunner says:

Erick and Rico, Liverpool are rubbish without Torres. I agree re: the shoes… two pairs a month is not a bad deal. 🙂

Why is WATH known as Mr. Sailor?

  161. Erick says:

Coast Rico enjoy. Even with the Mancs and Chavs plus i wont mention liverpool were all poor this was the year Rico next season it will be even harder because they will invest. Whats funny is the other teams are struggling because of cash we have it and we cant use it how crap is that

  162. Erick says:

Agag i named him so because he likes women and Liquor a party animal always making merry 🙂 🙂

  163. rico says:

    agag, i don’t buy two pairs a year 😉

Erick, nah, next season it will be ours, you can only field eleven players and all we need is the best eleven, a fit eleven and a ‘mentally strong’ eleven…

the dippers won’t spend much unless they sell a bucket load of players, the mancs won’t as they are broke, the chavs have to as all their players are near retirement age, citeh will spend as they have money but unless they make the CL, players will not want to go there….

am i being too optimistic 🙂

  164. Erick says:

Agag am talking two pairs a year or 6 months 🙂

  165. rico says:

Thanks Erick, Cornwall, near Newquay just for a few days – just hope the weather changes, its cold and raining here in the uk today… 😦

  166. agirlagunner says:

That’s exciting, rico. I’m off to cooler weather in 4 days. Yay. An uncle shall be taking care of all the pets.

This time next, year, Cesc lifts the trophy, AW is thrown into the air, Eboue will be busting out his moves, we’ll see a softening in the Verminator, Gael will call the players for a huddle, AA and Nasri will be flashing their dimples, Sol will be screaming whatever it is that he usually screams.. Tears of joy will flow…

This has been a fantasy for ages now.

  167. rico says:

AGAG, and not a denilson in sight in your fantasy 😉 😉

that will be lovely to agag, it must get tough when its so hot all the time… mind you, right now my old tired bones could do with some warmth….

  168. agirlagunner says:

A girl can never have enough pairs of shoes, methinks.

Spot on comment, rico— Citeh will have to qualify for CL first before they become the new Chelsea. And for all that Chelsea are looking to strengthen their squad, they are not the most appealing team are they? The Dippers and the Mancs are in dire financial straits. That’s what stupid spending does to clubs.

Erick, that really sounds like WATH. Hah.

  169. rico says:

Erick, you wait until sailor boy see’s what you have written 😉 😉

Both dippers and mancs are up for sale too, can you see new owners spending straight away… I can’t..

As for citeh, Ade is going, Tevez will be allowed to leave as he’s unhappy and Bellamy wants out to – surely any half decent player would want to know why??

Oh, and who wants to live in Manchester, unless of course they want to go shop at the Old Trafford shopping mall for new shoes 😉 😉

  170. agirlagunner says:

Cause we’re selling Denilson soon, rico. Haha. Hope springs eternal.

We have a bit of a drought this year (crop damage is in the billions) and we struggled through dozens of typhoons last year. Sigh. It’s awful.

I have been watching old games, we need to play Traore more. He’s not that fast but he is a strong physical player.

  171. rico says:

Thats awful to hear agag 😦 😦

Traore is zippy agag, he’s a real winger with an awesome cross… i think he’s as quick as clichy and gibbs, maybe not theo though 😉 😉

  172. Erick says:

Am going to blame it on the gg Rico or my milkshake was spiked ha ha ha we have to be careful AGAG next year it will be really tough AW must sign 4 great players and bring Sols spirit to the team but we are the Arsenal we will do it

  173. agirlagunner says:

He was ponderous against Everton and Bolton, rico, and he looked a little slow and careless. Fantastic against Villa though. Maybe because he was deputising at LB and that may not be his favored position?

  174. JonJon says:

    after noon all

    best comments of the day-

    denilson is our spine
    denilson is world class
denilson doesnt get picked for brazil cos of bloggers

  175. Erick says:

Sorry AGAG you know Africa is suffering with drough but this year it has been great its raining and guys are harvesting hope it changes soon Agag

  176. Erick says:

Mr Spanner Spanned us JJ ha ha ha he made a 9th wonder of the world 🙂 🙂 🙂

  177. agirlagunner says:

This is my favorite comment of the day:

“We don’t need to be thinking about young players right now. We need to be thinking about experienced internationals, preferably french or french speaking, like Silvestre or Djourou.”

    What on earth…?

I know, Erick. The weather should sort itself out.

  178. rico says:

I think so too agag, he isn’t really defensive minded, he’s an offensive player..

Afternoon JJ how its hanging 😉

  179. Erick says:

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha GG is working magic where is Wath

  180. rico says:

    My favourite comment is…..

‘You can take your spell check and stick it where the sun don’t shine’ 😉 😉

  181. JonJon says:

    top post rico…well done 😉

    heres the facts…

other than cole wenger has never developed a top english talent at the club..
he has no patience with the english lads he sells them before he gives them any sort of opportuntiy..
jacks of a robust nature..he wants to play and wenger doesnt like it if players are not quiet…he only likes the quiet boys and not the ones who bang on his door wanting to know why they arent getting a start when crap like denilson does…

18months ago jack was in integral part of the team and wasnt going anywhere even on loan…that was wengers words..

    where is he now?????

  182. rico says:

Thanks JJ, I blame you for the post, you sowed the seed about Jack 😉 😉 Iv’e had a fun day though so thanks

  183. goonergerry says:

Wilshere needs another year on loan-he is still very young. Passing is good- takes up good positions but defensively is a liability-just watch the Bolton Spurs game-simply not strong enough yet-but in a years time will need to come back in.

  184. rico says:

goonergerry, he’s ready now at bolton, he plays against the same sides, he ran Terry ragged and caused the mancs problems….

He should be at home, at Arsenal and doing all that for us….

  185. agirlagunner says:

But Wenger’s been patient with Theo, JJ.

It would be tragic if Jack were sold. He is the would-be face of English football. He was feisty again last night. Loves!

  186. rico says:

He has had to been with Theo agag, he actually spent money on him, Jack though he hasn’t…. 😦

  187. Erick says:

Walcot being tricky but his season has been pathetic blame it on the injuries or playing for the under 21 lets hope it works out AGAG

  188. agirlagunner says:

rico, I am confident that Jack is not going anywhere else permanently. One of the many ways that Jack is special is that once he’s truly come of age, he can be Wenger’s answer to all those who say our Arsenal is all Johnny Foreigners.

  189. rico says:

agag, that is my hope too, he is a very special player and can be awesome for us, i just want him to play now… well, next season 😉

  190. rico says:

I just seen, AR is 4th on Newsnow today 🙂 🙂

  191. JonJon says:

wengers patient with theo cos he cost him 12mil..

    gooner gerry

jack maybe a defensive liability but hes no worse than what we have in the middle already…

difference is jack will find the gaps and create the space..denilson and diaby couldnt find the space if they were playing on the moon…

  192. JonJon says:

we can all say jack isnt ready..we know he isnt ready..but the one thing he has got is great potential…

denilson wasnt ready..he never went out on loan and hes had 3 years of first team football and still isnt ready..neither is diaby..neither is theo…

so why cant we give jack the same chance..

  193. rico says:

    In The Championship…

Henri Lansbury wrapped up another 90 minutes and scored for Watford as they ended their season in style with victory over Coventry. Lansbury got the second goal just 60 seconds after a Danny Graham penalty had put them ahead. He drilled the ball low and hard into the bottom corner from inside the box. It finished 4-0.

This is another one I hope gets his chance….

  194. rico says:

JJ, if he’s ready to play at bolton, he’s ready to play for us imho – where is the difference…

Diaby and Denilson are the players keeping him out, well i’m with you, i know who i would rather see workd some magic….

  195. gambon says:

Lansbury could be a good player, i like his attitude.

But he needs to improve a fair bit, anyone playing in our midfield should be the best player in the championship.

Ie- Ramsey would be the best player in that division by some way.

He’ll be 20 later this year so he has to get moving.

  196. JonJon says:

jack reminds me off what joe cole was like..

which reminds me..i hope we go for him…top player..

  197. rico says:

Theo looks for world cup boost!!!!

Bollox i say, he should be looking for a boost to ensure his club secures third spot first!!

Whats the betting AW doesn’t play him for the last two games 😉

  198. rico says:

gambon, he has all the time in the world, dont forget denilson and diaby will keep on playing, by the time they retire Lansbury will be up for sale 😉

i like lansbury, he has an attitude to, but the right kind of one, bit like jack.. unlike randall who is a clone of bentley….

  199. rico says:

mancs are 1-0 up, another nani goal..

  200. rico says:

JJ, dont you think Cole is a bit of a crock to risk?

  201. JonJon says:

no more of a crock than diaby clichy rosicky dudu rvp gallas..

  202. gambon says:

I like the article that said we were after Hart, Hangeland, Cahill, Parker & Milner.

Them 5 plus Chamakh and we will be significantly better.

  203. agirlagunner says:

If we’re buying crocks, 1) there’s one in Anfield I have had my eye on.( not a winger though) 2) there must be cheaper options. Joe Cole has looked indifferent this season. And he’s no spring chicken either.

  204. JonJon says:

i like hart, cahill and milner too gambon..

i still think chamakakaka wil be our only (free) signing though..even though the financial shackles are off (season tickets)

the players show great improvement and mental strength and are young and will improve and know what they have to do blah blah blah

  205. rico says:

JJ, have you checked your emails 😉

cahill and milner would be great for us, but no way will we prize milner from villa would we?

fair point about cole jj, aw has had a few things to say about him… ie, our midfield is fine etc… what land does he live in…

  206. gambon says:

We defo wont sign Milner, and I think thats a real shame.

One thing that all the successful teams have in common is that they look to secure the best players from within their own league.

Milan, Inter, Juve, Real, Barca, Bayern, ManUtd all look within their own league for talent first & foremost.

We should be looking at the Milners, Youngs, Irelands, Hangelands, Cahills of this world.

  207. rico says:

I would go for Ireland gambon, and sell diaby…

  208. rico says:

glad we never got Barry though…….

  209. robert says:

I don’t think Wilshere will go anywhere

  210. JonJon says:

milner would cost too much money now..but his energy and drive is what we lack

  211. JonJon says:

diaby has to be one of the most overrated players in the squad..

yes he can dribble but thats all he can do…he cant read the game he cant pick a pass he holds onto the ball too long he wont track back,

    hes a terrible player..

  212. rico says:

so you don’t rate diaby then jj 😉

  213. rico says:

Right you fine people, I am done for the day, got washing, packing and stuff to do… 😉

See you all tomorrow I hope, stay safe,

    nighty night…

  214. Alex says:

To be completely honest in his two last games for Arsenal he lloked like a chicken lost in the woods. Did not look mature at all. I think that was the reason for the loan. The idea of selling Jack is as laughable as the rumors of Arshavin leaving this summer for Barca. The problem with Jack is that he was too good to sit on the bench and not good enough to play first team football for Arsenal. Hence his time with Bolton.

  215. GMR says:

The problem with loans is that the players experience first team football & then don’t want to play for the reserves any longer. Wilshere said this past week he doesn’t want to come back to Arsenal and sit on the bench, yet he clearly isn’t good enough for the first team right now. The vital bolton fansite were slating him and saying they didn’t want him back next season, seen as thats fans speaking it hardly looks a glowing endorsement of his time there.

In time he’ll be a great player, but if he demands first team football or a move elsewhere what do you do?? It’s easy to say make him honour his contract but as Bentley proved they can make trouble in the dressing room. Hopefully he’ll come to his senses and except that he has to work hard and develop so he can be an automatic starter, otherwise his career will probably be as successful as the aforementioned Bentley.

  216. Eddy says:

If…I suppose we will have to deal with a lot of “if’s” for a few months. This article is based on a huge “if” and considering the story that “Arsene is considering selling Jack” is probrably based on a crap article found in The Mail then we really shouldn’t give it too much airtime.
I totally agree with the previous response from Alex as I was less than impressed with Jack’s performances in his last couple of starts for us,particularly West Ham away in the FA Cup and he will benefit from the regular first team football that Bolton are offering him.

  217. AUSSIEGOONER says:

  218. Law says:

If I’m Dunga. I will put Song on my squad instead of Denilson. Denilson is a Brazilian crap.

  219. rico says:

    Morning all, top comment GMR

  220. rico says:

Law, Song cannot play for Brazil, but I am sure you know that really…

  221. JonJon says:

    morning rico.. 😉

  222. rico says:

Morning JJ, your early this morning 🙂

  223. JonJon says:

    your number 2.. 😉

  224. JonJon says:

    aint had much sleep…

  225. rico says:

Not so good then, you off today? BH and all that…

You calling me names, no2 indeed 😉 😉

  226. ozzie says:

Oh dear. The news wells must have really dried up. This is a non story. There is nothing in it. You are making stuff up and even getting wound up by it? Silly you. Wenger isn’t going to sell Jack now. To do so would be a slap in the face of all that he has done so far for the club.

  227. rico says:

morning ozzie, who’s wound up? certainly not me…

read the news, jack says he wants regular football and doesn’t want to be sat on the bench, can you see wenger playing him next season??

give your reason why you think he wont be sold, please dont waste your time having a sarcastic dig at the article, i’d love to read the posts on your blog….

  228. Phil says:

Calm down – I’m sick of so called fans waiting to undermine our club and manager. Don’t support the team then

  229. rico says:

    Wenger on the fans………….

‘They have to trust us. Historically we have done well on the transfer

market,” said Wenger, who takes his side to Blackburn on Monday evening.

“Last summer we bought Thomas Vermaelen, nobody knew about him and now he is in the team of the year, so they just have to keep faith in what we do.

“As always we will try to be intelligent, sensible and take care of this club in the right way.”

Wenger insists he will not allow his side to be broken up, adding: “One or two will go out, which happens every year, but the first target is to keep the squad together.

“This team has a future. I believe the players want to have a future together and that is why it is my job to keep them together.”

  230. rico says:

So, AW says one or two are leaving…..

    I hope its our No1 and No2 🙂

  231. rico says:

Phil, I will always support Arsenal, its Wenger who I am begining to doubt 😉

  232. rico says:

    New post up
