Song back, is that good news??

Alex Song could return tomorrow to face our new bitter rivals Manchester City. Sad isn’t it what money has done to them as a club? They bought the lazy man from us who then kicked our own Robin van Persie in the face during the away fixture and scored the inevitable goal to rub salt into all the Arsenal Fans wounds.

Song is due a late fitness test today so we should know for definite whether or not he will be ‘risked’ – I am unsure whether this is good or bad news. If such a late test is needed, would it be better to give him another week to recover and make sure he plays in our last two fixtures rather than play and suffer a set back tomorrow?

A win tomorrow secures our Champion’s League qualification and I think if we lose/draw and the other Manc side beat the Spuds we are safe to.

So Bassong will be cheering us to win tomorrow, I however will be hoping he and his side get a battering! I also hope that Stoke City travel to London and go home with a leastΒ a point from the Chav game, no way do I want them to win the league.

Wouldn’t it be funny though if win our last three matches andΒ both Chavs and Mancs lost all theirs……. ok ok, dreamland..

The Joe Hart rumours are still doing the rounds, I watched him on Question of Sport last week, he seems a really nice chap, he certainly knew a lot about sport!! Surely he wants his future sorted out, toΒ have stability at one club and not keep being farmed out on loan knowing he isn’t going to displace Given for a few years yet.

If its true, and Hart is a real target of Wenger’s, I think he would jump at the chance. He’ll know that he would get the No1 shirt for club and probably then go on to be the regular England No1 to. What player could resist such an opportunity?

Arshavin, Almunia and Denilson are all still out for tomorrow so I guess that means another start for Flapianski and Eastmond. I think if Song is fit he will play alongside Sol.

Pretty much the same team as last weekend then, just hope it’s a better performance.

Don’t know about you, but I’m dreading it 😦

Morning all, got to go out first thing, back late morning…

  2. bops says:

all of our last 3 defeats were away from home.. we are at home turf tomorrow and nasri and diaby play better at home..

    we r gonna win !!

  3. charybdis1966 says:

Hello Rico, I konw you’re off but I have to say given the choice of the Chavs or the Manks winning the League I’d, reluctantly, plump for the Chavs.
You know my legendary hatred for Sir Drinksalot and his disreputable rabble from Old Toilet – but that aside can you imagine how overboard the media would go on 4 mank titles in a row?
I know the Chavs are a failry unlikeabler bunch too but they’d only still b eron about 4 or 5 top flight titles if they win, far behind our 13.
Anyhoo – I look forward to Bendy scoring the winner tomorrow(and cheering him on from behind the goal at the north end), something that would delight you no end ! πŸ™‚

    Sagna Campbell Silvestre Clichy

    Eastmond Song

    Bendtner Van Persie Rosicky

    Yes or No?

  6. Meneurdejeu10 says:

    Sorry Sub Diaby for Eastmond

  7. K-TR7 says:

Song is needed!imagine eastmond vs ade!

  8. Meneurdejeu10 says:

I hope our MF struggles tomorrow because I desperately want to see us start with 2 defensive MF next year.

Arshavin our most talented player and Van Persie and Fabregas need a strong platform to be confident and not look over the shoulder.

De Jong is an excellent and feisty player.

    GK: New
    RB: Sagna
    CB: New
    CB: TV
    LB: Clichy
    RDM: Song/Eastmond
    LDM: New/New
    CM: Fab4/Nasri
    RF: Chamakh/Rosicky
    CF: RVP/Bendtner
    LF: Arshavin/Vela

I have no space for Diaby, Denilson and Walcott.

We could actually raise 15-20million pounds selling these three.

  9. James Morgan says:

To be frank,if Arsenal play the attacking style as in the CL they could play into MC’s hands.Their manager must have watched how the gunners were beaten .

  10. Suhail.TV says:

Morning all.. Rico, you want man utd winning title ?

  11. Suhail.TV says:

They won a damn creepy title last year.. Can not tolerate that this season also..

  12. Suhail.TV says:

PL to Hated chelsea.. and I fancy pompey to win fa cup.. What a fate for us..!

  13. rico says:

Morning peoples, yes, I would prefer the mancs to win, no I dont like them but not as much as i hate the chavs….

  14. charybdis1966 says:

So Rico you’d be happy to see 4 mank titles in a row Rico, and old Bacon-faces stupid smiling mug beaming all over the papers and on Skysports for now and ever more Amen?

  15. rico says:

chary, good to see you, of course i would love to see nikki grab a winner – no doubt you would pop into my mind if he did πŸ˜‰

  16. Suhail.TV says:

Rico where you’ve been.. A choice between man utd and chelsea is the worst thing..

  17. rico says:

ha ha chary, better than JT and Cole’s faces plastered over the paps, dirty filty horrid men πŸ˜‰

  18. rico says:

In an ideal world they would both lose their last three and we get first, but that’s not going to happen 😦

  19. Suhail.TV says:

Even if they lose rico.. Will the arsenal win their games…!

  20. rico says:

STV, probably not, sad isnt it that we have such little confidence right now…

  21. Suhail.TV says:

Very sad… Even wenger dont.. We just woke up from wonderland.. dream..

  22. charybdis1966 says:

True Rico, the chavs are a pretty disreputable collection of excrescences, but my dislike of ole 65% proof nose outweighs my dislike of Cashley, Shagman Terry, Roll-about-Dog-breath & Co.
If Bendy comes near to me to celebrate a goal on Saturday I’ll pass on your thanks to him.

  23. rico says:

πŸ˜† chary – truth is i hate them both, but its the principle of how the chavs are run too, they just tip it for me…

at least the world cup will put an end to a lot of the sky gloating about how their team won the league….

  24. rico says:

STV, give it a few weeks and we’ll all be excited again when AW brags about his new signings πŸ˜‰

  25. Suhail.TV says:

If devils wins it .. Red nose will be elevated to moon by press..

  26. Suhail.TV says:

    Hoping for that rico..

  27. charybdis1966 says:

It’s a dilemma indeed Rico. Perhpas the World Cup will come quick enough to remove most of the triumphalism from either the manks or chavs off our TV scxreens.

  28. Erick says:

Hallo all nice to hear Song almost available we need to cement 3rd spot because I have a bad feeling about it

  29. Goonerpower says:

Rico got to agree can’t stand the fact Cole would win the title. So if I had to choose then scum it is. God that hurt!!!!

  30. Suhail.TV says:

Halo Erick.. Song is back much to your delight.. We can cement it..

  31. rico says:

Also, I think if the mancs win red nose will retire so all could be worthwile to see them gloat for a day or two …

Morning Erick, we onle need three points, we’ll get them tomorrow – we are at home and wenger would have given them a rocket up their bums after last weekends fiasco (which i still think was a fix) πŸ˜‰

  32. rico says:

OH NO, not more Denilson’s πŸ˜‰

Arsenal eye partnership with Brazilian academy with Arsene Wenger keen to lure South American stars

Arsenal are set to team up with a Brazilian football academy in a bid to bring the rising stars of South American football to the Emirates Stadium.

Next season the Premier League will introduce new rules which state that all clubs must include eight home-grown players in their first-team squad.

The Gunners will be able to include club captain Cesc Fabregas and defender Gael Clichy among those as ‘home-grown’ because they were at the club for three years before they turned 21.

Young Guns: Fabrgeas and Clichy both joined Arsenal back in 2003

And Arsene Wenger is keen to do the same with the latest batch of talent from across South America.

According to the Sun newspaper Arsenal officials will travel to the Laranja Mercanica academy in Brazil to discuss a partnership.

Joint owner Arie Treffers is quoted as saying: ‘We’ve had extensive discussions with Wenger. He is very enthusiastic.

  33. rico says:

hi goonerpower, good to see you here posting, it does hurt to say that i know, lesser of the two evils …

  34. rico says:

    Wenger wouldn’t would he…..

Juventus are being linked with a move for Arsenal’s Robin van Persie and could offer Felipe Melo and Gianluigi Buffon in exchange.

I wouldn’t, no way, not never!

  35. Suhail.TV says:

If they are ready to accept almunia for buffon.. Would you.. We can also give diaby and denilsen for free

  36. rico says:

For sure they can have almnuia, fabianski, denilson, diaby but not Robin πŸ™‚

  37. Erick says:

Suhail πŸ™‚ and pay the air fare and accomodation. How are you Rico Exams are killing me oh Song Belong

  38. Suhail.TV says:

Rico if we defeat citi, i will be equally agonised and happy.. Much like the reading win two years before. Tooo..oo.. late.

  39. rico says:

I’m good thanks Erick, when do your exams finish? They were all so long ago for me πŸ˜‰

Its about more though now STV, we cant lose at home, and not to Lardy and Toure….

  40. Erick says:

Yap Rico they get into snail pace once they start Thursday next week Rico STV am hoping for a Mancs win and the atleast a draw Rico hope you still on the Milkshake bet πŸ˜‰

  41. Suhail.TV says:

Exams..Long ago…! Rico I do never meant us to lose.. But there’s a similarity. It was a choice of first and third this season. and We achieve worst possible result considering the manner of season and our’s performance.. It will cause a heart clock if we slip further down now which was seemingly unrealistic after the westham game.

  42. Suhail.TV says:

    Heart block i mean

  43. rico says:

Wo STV, I never thought for one minute you would want us to lose, i understand what you are saying, it would be like losing against those we should be and beating the tougher oppo, if we had showed more fight we would be top now and going into tomorrows game full of confidence, instead…..

Whe do you finish though Erick, and yes, chocolate for me please πŸ™‚

  44. rico says:

STV, my exams were in the 70’s 😦

  45. Suhail.TV says:

    Ma.. God…. 70’S.. I born almost two decades later…

  46. Erick says:

29th Rico thursday next week. Chocolate not grey goose πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  47. Erick says:

    STV you baby πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  48. rico says:

Thanks STV, I suddenly feel very very old πŸ˜‰

I’m not a grey goose fan Erick, don’t like any spirits, occassional glass of wine and beer, thats all this old gal can take these days πŸ˜‰

Don’t believe it when WATH says I’m a scrumpy lass πŸ˜‰

  49. Erick says:

Has the Sailor showed up Rico his vodka was too bitter for me. Rico bet your not as old as you think still a beauty Wath so into you πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  50. K-TR7 says:

    Whats happening…

  51. Suhail.TV says:

Rico as far as the game i feel this one is to win. A draw or lose in front of own fans will be suicidal. It’s much like we faced reading at home 2yrs ago after destroying our hopes our self by shattering a 5pt lead after picking 7 pts in 7 games. Ade was enough grown to bite aw’s ears before leaving us. We cant afford any thing but a win..

  52. Suhail.TV says:

Rico no.. I meant it if you write it in 70. Ever youth.. Cheers..

  53. Erick says:

K-TR7 must win to salvage the little pride we have got so any line up ideas or we stick with the same one at Wigan

  54. Suhail.TV says:

Erick not a baby.. Am older than walcott..

  55. Erick says:

Walcot is still one πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  56. rico says:

STV, I understand, that was horrid, from such a position to throw the league away, and lardy lost his shotting boots and we had a summer of listening to his lies….

Erick, Song may start, whether in defence and play Eastmond in the midfield, or stick with Silvestre!! I think Robin will start to and if he plays like he did when he came on against the spuds, we will win πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  57. Suhail.TV says:

Silvertre thinks none of his team mates were playing well… What a joke..

  58. rico says:

Pots and kettles come to mind STV, Silvestre is a useless shower of S…e imho πŸ˜‰

Hi KTR7 – tomorrow is just as Erick says, a must win. Not just because we play Lardy but we need three points from three games, lose tomorrow and the Blackburn game becomes twice as hard!

  59. Erick says:

AW should start RVP thats vital

  60. Suhail.TV says:

Never mind rico… Do you think melo would be a great addition in summer. I’d rather in for toulalan.. The pasta lover.

  61. Suhail.TV says:

He would be a proper replacement for vieira. Rather than diabies

  62. Erick says:

Toulalan has never caught my eye i would rather Flamini back

  63. rico says:

    I dont want either 😦

Erick, I have emailed you πŸ™‚

  64. rico says:

STV, Melo is too attack minded I think, we have enough of them – I hope we see some rock solid beast – secretly I am hoping the Essien and Alex have a big fight with Roman and want to leave the chavs but stay in London!!

  65. rico says:

****** Take a peep at the WC Page at the top of the blog and if you would be kind enough to let me know what you all think******

  66. Suhail.TV says:

Erick, please pray for that.. Particularly essien is a beast of mid fielder rico..

  67. rico says:

Alex is a good defender to STV, imagine him and TV – puurrrrrrr

  68. Suhail.TV says:

Yes hoping for best. Am off.. C U later.. It’s nice being with you people..bye

  69. rico says:

STV, you can’t go until you have read the World Cup page πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  70. Suhail.TV says:

I read it before rico, will give responses later..

  71. rico says:

ok stv, be good and see you later, enjoy the day πŸ™‚

  72. rico says:

Off for an hour, later all

  73. rico says:

Who’s about then, I’ve had my hour πŸ˜†

  74. K-TR7 says:

Hi rico,we should just ignore ade tomorrow, applaud kolo and viera.lets show our class by not singing racist chants, lets just hush it when he has the ball.he is like a jilted lover and will be looking for a reason to lash out, don’t give him one!cheer on our boys to cement our cl status for another diaby always perfoms with song next to him.

  75. rico says:

Hi KTR7, ignore the lot, they are history πŸ˜‰

  76. K-TR7 says:

@Rico ribery, benzema and govou had an affair with a 17 year old prostitute…ibra covered the same distance as valdez in cl vs inter…

  77. rico says:

i read that earlier ktr7, thankfully they don’t play for us πŸ˜‰

  78. K-TR7 says:

AW may have his faults but some of these ‘stars’ don’t help their clubs at all…ribery spouts rubbish in the press and is a primadonna…re fabianski i think he is talented but i think his decision making and nervousness let him down which is due to being on the bench for months,i think he has it in him to be a great goalie even if its not here with us.

  79. rico says:

But so much is bull though KTR7, remember the stuff about Robin and Graham Stack ???

  80. rico says:

fabianski…… i’m unsure if he will be great

  81. K-TR7 says:

Rico-trust me he will…what i don’t understand is how yaya toure gets benched for bosquets?…what are the odds of a fabianski blinder/rvp hatrick/triaby?

  82. rico says:

    off to get supper….

  83. rico says:

worth a paddle i think, but i wouldn’t take that chance πŸ˜‰ yaya, the only toure i would love to see in an afc shirt, but would much rather essien… πŸ˜‰

even though he’s tainted by the chav shirt πŸ˜‰

  84. Erick says:

Rico got your E-mail will be replying soon ha ha ha whats new??

  85. rico says:

    Thanks Erick πŸ˜†

  86. W.A.T.H says:

    Ok so who’s around………………

Erick off drinking milkshake, Rico doing me dinner πŸ™‚

  87. agirlagunner says:

Hi, all. I’m knackered. Long week, Friday night (at long last). Just wanted to say hi. I’m beyond relieved that Song is back.

  88. W.A.T.H says:

Evenin AGAG……….. How’s you…. Apart from tired…? Lets hope Song fit enough to play or we will get overrun I fear….!

  89. rico says:

    Evening AGAG and WATH πŸ™‚

We won’t be overun, I have it all planned as to what Wenger needs to do πŸ™‚

  90. agirlagunner says:

Hey, WATH. Just had dinner with my girls. No GG! Erick has rubbed off on me. Fruit shakes for afters, would you believe?

There is no alternative but to turn up for tomorrow’s game. It feels like a final to me.

  91. agirlagunner says:

Hola, rico. Make sure Wenger hears you!

  92. rico says:

Hey AGAG, its all written loud and proud, we are going to win if my cunning plan is put into place….

Who am i kidding, its pure hope and I know we will still see Diaby and Silvestre 😦

  93. K-TR7 says:

Evening AGAG,Erick&wath.i can’t bear the thoughts of ade scoring…

  94. rico says:

KTR7, he wont, trust me! πŸ˜‰

  95. K-TR7 says:

At least diaby and nasri show up at home…diaby plays well with song next to him…am tipping him and fabianski to have blinders…

  96. agirlagunner says:

Diaby had better turn in the performance of his life, rico. As a bigger player, he is supposed to give us options! Does he do that? Nope. He just charges down the middle, hoping the opponents defense will part like the Red Sea to let him score! I’m still sore with him. I suppose it’s because he is capable of so much more that his horror performances of late are difficult to just brush off.

  97. agirlagunner says:

Hi, KTR7! Ade was never my favorite, but I still feel weird seeing him in another kit. I guess I feel that way about a lot of players who made mad money moves (which have invariably turned out to be awful decisions, btw).

  98. rico says:

agag, I wouldn’t start him tomorrow – my team would be……

    Eboue Sagna Sol Clichy
    Nasri Eastmond Song Rosicky
    Nik van Persie

  99. agirlagunner says:

Rico, Eboue and Walcott play well together though if you have observed. I mean, there is a fluidity to their exchanges. Walcott doesn’t seem to read the other players quite as well.

  100. rico says:

This just about sums up what AW thinks of our keepers – Chesney is going to be thrown into the mix next season…. Hoo-bloody-rah, Hart and Chesney, what a great no 1 & 2 πŸ™‚

Wojciech Szczesny will be Arsenal’s No. 1 in the future – that’s the view of ArsΓ¨ne Wenger.

The 20-year-old has been on loan at Brentford since November and has earned many plaudits for his eye-catching performances for the Bees.

The keeper has made 24 appearances for the League One side and their manager Andy Scott has already been quoted as saying he wants to take the stopper on loan again next term.

But Szczesny himself has said he is determined to be the Gunners’ No. 1 next term. Speaking at Friday’s press conference, Wenger asserted his belief that the youngster will wear the Arsenal gloves in the future, though maybe not next season.

“It is reasonable to have the ambition to be No 1 here next season,” said the manager. “I believe he is doing extremely well.

“I believe one day he will be the No 1 at Arsenal certainly. But we will see next season. It is down to his performances.

“But you want as well some experience at our level. You cannot only go with young goalkeepers.”

  101. rico says:

ah, but agag, robin will get the goals, Sagna instead of Silvestre gives us stronger cover, when citeh get tired, bring on the Linford Cristie of Arsenal….

We have to have a strond defence and Theo/Eboue work well going forward but getting back?? Not so sure. With Tevez, who I think tends to drift out to the left, I wouldn’t risk Theo… but its only my view, i just think if we attack to much tomorrow we will find it hard…

  102. rico says:

Right you old tinkers, I need to pop off now – very tired old gal here – hope to see you tomorrow all, night night and stay safe…

agag, sorry to leave in the middle of talking about stuff, but…. I’m getting too old for late nights πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  103. agirlagunner says:

RvP’s been out sooo long, I need to remind myself, we have him back. If RvP so much as winces and feels his hamstring/ankle/knee, I’ll pull him off though. I’m saving him for next season (If only I could find a solution to his WC participation.)

I hope Sagna doesn’t have one of his walkabouts again. Not when tomorrow’s results could threaten our third spot! You think our defense can handle Tevez?

I rate Sylvie so highly that I would sooner play Vic Akers or Pat Rice over him. I am dead serious too.

  104. agirlagunner says:

Good night, rico. Don’t worry about it. Catch you tomorrow!

  105. W.A.T.H says:

    Night Rico… sleep tite…!

  106. agirlagunner says:

    Have a good Friday, WATH!

  107. W.A.T.H says:

you 2 AGAG and a great weekend…..! have lots of fun

  108. rico says:
