Too many balls and not enough finish!!!!

How long have we been waiting for this fixture – just how long.

The answer to that for me is, since we played them at home earlier in the season! Tonight was supposed to be about getting to Shite Hart Lane, coming home with three points – isn’t that what we all expected??

It was quiet on here yesterday, so after hearing that kid called Rose was starting for the scum, I asked around, Who is this kid? No-one really knew too much about him, nor did I! You just knew though didn’t you….

We started the same as we usually do, all the play, all the posession and yet again, no end product!!

We also started in the same old fashion way in defence, well, more like in the goal keeping department. A corner to them, a punch out by Almunia and that kid called Rose hits it on the volley straight through the hands of Almunia….

Not long after that, the worst thing that could happen, happened…. Thomas Vermaelen pulls up and goes off injured, probably out for the rest of the season….It got worse though as Silvestre came on to take his place…

From that moment, my heart sank!!

Again though we continued to keep the ball, again though we passed it one, two three many times too many, why oh why can we not just shoot? Eboue had an opportunity to do so, as did Tomas, but neither took them…..The only player so far to have a pop at goal was Clichy….

Says it all really!!!

Just after half time, seconds in fact, the sluggish Silvestre showed just why so many of us don’t trust him. He let Bale, bloody Bale of all people get a second goal for our most bitter of rivals… 2-0 and right now I’m thinking Game Over…

So at 2-0 down, on comes Theo Walcott for Sagna..

Finally, a ball played into Nikki on 65 minutes that produced a shot from the big Dane, sadly it went wide, well wide….

Enough was enough for Arsene Wenger, time to send on our only real hope to maybe grab a point…

67 minutes on the clock and on comes Robin van Persie for Denilson…

This kind of thing really pisses me off – van Persie has the ball in the scum half, looks up and sees a gap, a gap that Rosicky should be looking to run into… Rosicky just stands still and watches the ball which ends up going out for a goal kick… Sorry Rosicky, but if you don’t have the energy to jog to get that perfect pass on 70 minutes, I think it’s time you found yourself another club!!

75 minutes on the clock and we are still 2-0 down and I can’t see where a goal is going to come from for us, our end product is shocking!!

Finally, Robin takes a pop at goal, a wonderful bit of control on his chest and hit on the volley, sadly, straight at Gomes.. (Yes I know it was a save really)

Free kick, step up Robin, another Gomes save denies him and then denies Sol Campbell from the resulting corner..

84 minutes, great ball across the goal from Theo following a great pass from RvP to Theo…. Nikki B finally gets it right and puts the ball passed Gomes…

2-1 and 5 minutes to go!! Last ten minutes of the match we have had 81% possession!!

Another shot from Robin on 87 mins, another save from Gomes – why oh why didn’t RvP start…

It’s over and we lose to the locals in the league for the first time in ten years……..

I dont do player ratings…

10 for Big Sol, you were up for this game

9 for Clichy

10 for Robin, just for seeing him back, and showing us that left foot of yours..

4 for Nikki, just for the goal…

The rest of the side, hang your heads in shame, oh, and go and give your weekly wage to charity, after last nights performance you don’t deserve a penny!!

Last night was the story of not only this season, but the seasons gone by, we play, play, play, pass, pass, pass, pass – but at the and of the 90 minutes, possession doesn’t win a game, goals do!!  But we won’t score goals if we don’t shoot, will we??

Sadly, the game also showed again how a goal keeper can get you points.  Gomes did that in the last twenty minutes, Almunia didn’t and probably never will!!

Last night though it hurt the most!

I’m gutted, angry, peed off and darn right grumpy…..

Morning – now you can all see why i dont really do match reports….

  2. Edmond Dantes says:

The 2nd goal was a killer blow. Not enough cut and thrust in the final third. That sums it up for me.

Only when RvP came on did we look dangerous. One can only imagine what would have happened had he been fit the whole season. But then again, when has RvP ever been fit the entire season? Nevertheless, I thought he was great.

Its difficult to play for long periods without your best defender, midfielder and striker. We can only hope that our squad has greater depth next season. Come on Arsene. Bring in some quality established players.

  3. Edmond Dantes says:

Let it be known I will be chatting to him in June about that. He’s attending a dinner at the embassy.

  4. Suhail.TV says:

Morning rico, painfull but a good post. That’s what we got after a year long hopefull waiting. We wont win any thing the season.

  5. rico says:

    Morning STV and Edmond

STV, Sadly I think its a battle for second, which those with rose tinted glasses will think is ‘some achievement’ with so many injuries…

Its rubbish though, we got up there to give ourselves a chance, last night too many players were shocking, bloody shocking..

If I were AW, I would have a long list to sell come summer….

  6. Erick says:

    One word pooooor

  7. Edmond Dantes says:

By the way, where is everybody?
Have they all gone to the Grove?
I’ve been banned from the Grove. There was some fundamental differences in opinion that could not be settled. Hence they decided to kick me out because Im a hardline Wenger supporter.

  8. Welsh Gooner says:

I don’t normally comment on blogs but you are spot on. Too passing not enough shooting.

God sake how many times did get to the edge of the box and pass to someone further away. FFS shooooooot.

Too many passengers last night, not enough players that want to win.

  9. Erick says:

Morning all yesterday couldnt get in Rico did not watch the game and we lost that sums up yesterday for me bad day

  10. Edmond Dantes says:

My faith in Arsene has not been shaken as yet.

  11. Stephanos says:

Yes we missed a lot of players for most of the season. I’m sure it would have been different had we had them. But we have our first choice keeper! He cost us all the points we dropped since the defeats to ManUtd and Chelsea and a lot more before that! He spilled the ball against Birmingham and was ridiculous last night!

  12. le foxe says:

Shocking performance. Shocking lack of passion and desire from the team.

Would definately give Campbell another years contract….he needs to get in there and crack a few skulls together. If the rest of the team shared his passion we would do so much better.

As for the spurs fans hideous chanting towards Wenger…..I hope you all come down with a severe bout of syphilis. Scum.

  13. Edmond Dantes says:

Rosicky’s shooting was embarassing. One actually hit the corner flag. I didnt know whether to laugh or cry. I ended of just drinking more Lager.

  14. rico says:

Hi Erick, it was awful, all play and no end product, Almunia was die as was most of the side. RvP was a revelation, Clichy and Sol stood out by far…

    Edmond, stick to Arsenal please….

Le Grove is not our enemy, if you want to discuss them, please go there and do it, not here…

  15. Suhail.TV says:

They said we’re most scoring team, without a striker. When we got a striker, we score only a few goals most of them from that man alone. What is happening to other players why only a bentner- who only wake up after 80 minuts to score..

  16. Edmond Dantes says:

That chanting aimed at Arsene was unacceptable. It was even heard clearly on tv.

  17. rico says:

Nik woke up when RvP came on, even then he wasn’t much good…

  18. Edmond Dantes says:

Im not having a dig at them. Just saying what happened to me. But your point is taken Rico. Im not going to mention them again.

  19. K-TR7 says:

Morning.Rvp is our messi, final third master!AW’s comments showed he too has had it.i see a clearout in the summer.rvp!rvp!rvp!rvp!wonderboy is back!

  20. rico says:

Morning Welsh Gooner and Stephanos, good to see you on AR, dreadful night…. just dreadful..

Top comment LF, Morning to you

  21. Eddy says:

I thought that Nasri showed some brilliant touches and plenty of the desire that is required but quite simply those around him, like Diaby,Walcott,Denilson,Rosicky and Bendtner were lacking in many of the aspects needed to win a game like this.Arsene does himself no favours with our gloommonger brigade who seem to revel in our losses with the “I told you so attitude”by his refusal to admit the inadequecies of Almunia and Sylvestre inparticular by replacing them.Surgery is required in the summer but fortunately for us we are talking about 3/4 players not wholesale changes.I think the supporters would gain confidence in the direction that this club is going if Arsene showed willing to offload some of the players that most fans recognise as not being up to the job instead of rewarding them for comparative failure with new contracts.

  22. rico says:

WG – how on earth can players not be up for a derby against the spuds?? you are right of course, but how the heck can they not be?? Only Sol, Clichy and Robing knew what last night was about…

  23. le foxe says:

    Morning Rico…feeling your pain mate.

Getting a lot of grief from various Spurs associates.

  24. Edmond Dantes says:

For the second goal it was actually Sagna who played them on-side. But with Silvestre at the back, the organisation is not that good. So we can blame him too.

I was happy with Sol. He showed good fight. It was a shame Tv had to go off.

  25. rico says:

    Thanks Edmond

Morning KTR7 – Robin back is just wonderful, just pray Spuds do us a favour and beat the cahvs at the weekend and the mancs lose to..

  26. Eddy says:

Edmond Dantes,I too despise that site but won’t bother wasting my breath on them as it’s a free world and everyone has an opinion,I just happen to dislike theirs’!

  27. Suhail.TV says:

The problem for arsenal this season is they are consistant even in defects. One defeat followed by other and one win followed by other. We fought back two times and could do third time but there’s not much games left. A top 2 finish is good for now , ninth time in 14 yrs for wenger..

  28. rico says:

LF – thankfully i am at home with the phone off and the door locked, spuds normally creep out of the woodwork on days like today….

  29. rico says:

Eddy, thats all we have been asking for 3/4 players in and a few crap ones out….

  30. le foxe says:

Its shocking, Rico!! I am currently based in the Middle East and I am even getting grief from some of the locals I work with, who probably havent even heard of S*rs!

The pathetic lack of passion from the lads makes it even harder for me to stand up for them!!!

  31. Suhail.TV says:

Just a feeling that sendoros is missed each time when I see silvertse. Why wenger let him go ?

  32. rico says:

Another thing that pees me off, Wilshere caused JT all sorts of problems the other night, he should be playing in our first team, not bloody Bolton’s!!

  33. Edmond Dantes says:

Back to the point on Rosicky’s shooting. I remember him scoring a great goal in the World Cup – against USA I think. He scored a cracker against Liverpool too. We need plyers who can strike the ball from distance (accurately that is).

  34. rico says:

I feel for you LF, some people are so sad…!!

STV, he must have done something to pee the boss off, how AW thinks Silvestre is better than Senderos I will never know …

  35. rico says:

Edmond – he doesn’t do it now though does he?? That ball RvP played in for him did it for me, he showed no interest and made no effort to run for it…

Traore would have been a far better option imho..

  36. Suhail.TV says:

Rico I think arsenal players dont know what a title push is.. Cause over the years they have been practiced the race for fourth spot which requires lesser efforts. It’s been 5 years.. Horrible and heart breaking..

  37. Edmond Dantes says:

Ok guys. Im off for today. I need to take my mind of all things Arsenal for a while. Hard as that may seem.

  38. Eddy says:

agreed Rico and any intelligent Arsenal fan has known for about 3 years that we have been consisstently around 2 quality outfield players away from winning the Premiership. Now Gallas is 32 it is probrably 3 with a goalkeeper.I wouldn’t be sad to see the back of Denilson,Almunia and sad to say Rosicky, given their form this year and believe that Diaby and Walcott have got too much promise to let go but need to be informed very quickly about what it means to wear the red and white of Arsenal as some of their displays have been abject to say the least.

  39. rico says:

Spot on STV – thats why we need 3/4 players who have ‘Sol Mentality’ – having been there and done it with us, he knew what last night meant, and not just for his own reasons…

Eddy, that’s what makes it a bitter pill to swallow, its not rocket science, but still our bloody leader tells us the youth project is the right way to go – yes of course it is, but we need some fighters in there too, some players who will spit blood for our club..

Denilson, Diaby, Rosicky, Silvestre, Nik, Theo, Almunia…. Last night they bottled it yet again, just like the Barca game away…

I’ve always knocked Eboue, but last night at least he showed a bit of spirit, albeit he was not so good…

  40. Suhail.TV says:

    Rico still behind closed doors,..!?

  41. rico says:

    Still here STV….

  42. Suhail.TV says:

Get some stiff, wash tension off

  43. rico says:

STV, stiff drink you mean 😉

  44. Welsh Gooner says:

How come we have so many injuries this season.

Surely TV shouldn’t get a calf injury like that. What are our medical staff up to????????

There must be something wrong with our training methods with so many players getting these silly lttle injuries.

  45. Suhail.TV says:

  46. Suhail.TV says:

WG, you mean.. We’ve to buy some medical staffs too in summer…

  47. rico says:

WG, thats always been a bone of contention, many question our training – i wonder if its diet too?
We have the best surface in the league, poss the best training facilities too so it doesn’t make sense…

Big Tony never you get injuries, maybe they need a few pints of Guinness in them…

  48. rico says:

    Bet it’s down to…

No salt and not much fat

  49. K-TR7 says:

Rosicky and nasri looked like world beaters on the ball with sublime skills but unfortunately no end product.AA may seem lazy but he would’ve done better in final third with all possession we had there.rvp, chamack and AA upfront will destroy defenses.AW said a fully fit rvp is on par with rooney,cr9…yesterday you saw why.he looked razor sharp and pretty quick too.what i would give to have him play a whole season…

  50. rico says:

KTR7, i thought they were below par last night, had AA been fit, he would have had a field day..

Were you able to sort out a wordpress account KTR7??

  51. Suhail.TV says:

Considering 3 away matches against villa brmngm and spuds. We could’ve won all these three. They were on losing streak the teams. Against birmingm and spurs we got more rest as they have mid weak losing matches. Still we with all the importence spoken and emphasised, we lost 5 points. 5 pts that could land title after 5 years. They speaks very well but on the pitch it’s another storey. Credit to wenger for keeping such a patience.

  52. Suhail.TV says:

    Sorry, story

  53. JOEL says:

When the “Main Men” are absent we can only expect that their replacements give their all.But time and time again this season they have been found wanting. Not good enough in either an attacking or a defensive sense. An unerring ability to pass the ball short and sideways;an inability to track back when the ball is lost;neither enough energy nor enthusiasm all over the pitch;and an unrivalled egotism where they seem to think that they are far better players than they actually are!
The injuries have meant that squad players have all been given their chances and now decisions have to be made with regards their futures-because many need to be replaced. The obvious difficulty is that other clubs must want to spend their hard earned cash if these players are to be moved on; and the Manager will also have to realise that they are not suitable for Arsenal,in the first place!
Starting with the Goalkeeper-last night again proved that he needs replacing. If we’d bought Given instead of allowing Citeh to pick him up, I am sure that we would be at least 9 points better off at this stage.Almunia’s abilities seem to both start and stop at Penalty Saving!Last night he was culpable not once but twice with the first goal. The corner would certainly have been caught had it come into the Chelsea,Liverpool,United,or even the Wigan penalty area-and as good as the shot was, it was certainly no better than RVPs efforts later which Gomes managed to parry.Fabianski is obviously an accident waiting to happen and doesn’t solve any problem in that respect. Our 4th choice is getting rave reviews at Brentford although he’s probably only at the understudy stage if brought into the squad for next year.
Defensively we can’t go through another season with such a brittle “back-up”.As well as Gallas has played, he still remains prone to long-term injury.Djourou has never looked particularly reliable-even when fit.Sylvestre would stuggle to assert himself in the Championship and Senderos hasn’t managed too many games of note playing for an injury ravaged Everton.Vermaelen looks the real deal but needs a big and mobile stopper to play along-side him.I’ve also been underwhelmed by Sagna’s consistency this season. His end product going forward has been dire and he also seems to disappear defensively at the most crucial times. After a very encouraging start he too is looking to be lacking. I’m pleased to see that Clichy’s form has improved and he certainly can’t be pulled-up for lack of effort.
The midfield really needs sorting out.The players need to be given more defined roles and stick to them.As much as Song has improved he still gets himself, needlessly, booked far too often, especially in the “big” games.Diaby might resemble Vieira in stature but that’s where all similarities stop. His repetitive skill of passing to the opposition or just making the wrong decision is particularly frustrating to watch. He has had planty of chances and with a few exceptions has not been able to impose himself- espcially in the most important games.Everyone knows Denilson is a very limited player. Our version of his Brazilian counterpart at Liverpool and we all know what the Scoucers think about Lucas!I’ve been a big fan of Rosicky in the past but his injuries seem to have caught up with him.Nasri flatters to deceive and goes missing in too many games.
Like many other parts of the team the forward line has really suffered with injury problems. It is,however, limited by the fact that we have too many players who offer similar attributes.Too much in the way of speed without the appropriate strength,an eye for goal, and real football skill.Prior to injury Eduardo was nothing more than promising-since injury he’s been extremely mediocre.Vela, obviously isn’t suited to the EPL and both Bentner and Walcott are long-term bench warmers who could more usefully serve as “impact” substitutes.
That’s not to say that the team isn’t potentially one which can win Trophies.Keep Cesc,Vermaelen,Clichy,Ramsey,Song,RVP;Get more out of Arshavin,Nasri,Walcott;Develop the likes of Wilshire,Eastmond,Gibbs; Utilise the tiredless efforts of Campbell and Eboue within the Squad Mix; Bring in a few hardened “over 25s” with a winning attitude as well as a couple of “Legends” into the coaching staff (Keown/Bergkamp); and who knows what could develop!
Whatever happens-it needs to lend itself to a less frustrating Season than this one-which originally promised nothing at all, followed by a wave of disproportionate optimism and ended with a feeling of mediocrity!

  54. rico says:

Morning Joel, welcome to Avenell Road, thats one long comment, I’m going to read it now 😉

  55. rico says:

Joel, I don’t think many would argue with that…

Got a few chores to get done now, catch up in a couple of hours…

For any new blogger who leave a comment, please be patient, you will go into moderation with your first comment…

  58. Mustang says:

    Afternoo folks,

Just read a comment by Wenger saying that imatutrity cost us the game last night. In case you missed it, we have not shown maturity for the past 5 seasons.
But my question is: who is responsible to making sure that we put out a team mature enough to be up for a game like last night? Will he make the changes that the whole world can see is urgently required? I don’t think so, yet again we will not see any decent transfer activity in the summer.

The game last night will be soon forgotten and Wenger will continue to sell us the future and we will continue to buy it in bucket loads.
We are creatures of emotion and we will continue to follow our club emotionally and leave our emotional highs and lows at the mercy of imature and underachieving team.

Definition of insanity: “to continue to do the same things over and over while expecting a different result…”

  59. W.A.T.H says:

Think the headline is completely wrong Rico it should read “No balls mostly pricks”…………..

    Two words… Fucking embarrassing…!

  60. rico says:

    Afternoon WATH and Mustang….

To be honest wath, if it wasn’t for the fact that NewsNow might kick us off, I would have just used ‘Fucking Embarrassing’ as the heading!!

Mustang, you are so very right, I am not one for calling for Wengers head, but five years now we have won nowt – I am sick and tired of watching players under perform and they play that way because they are not good enough.. Not all I know, but so many…

Losing to Barca I can stomach some what, but to lose to the spuds and in the fashion we did has done it for me…

Wenger needs to sort this squad out in the summer or think about his future, we don’t lose to the spuds, or at least we never used to and that must be the last time we do!!

  61. rico says:

Sunday we are without Gallas and TV, no doubt Sol won’t have recovered, we are in dire straights!!

AW will probably play Djourou who will pick up another injury and so on and so on….

  62. rico says:

Oh, and Barca deny the Cesc promise not to bid for him in the summer….

  63. rico says:

Denilson is a doubt for the weekend to, bring in Eastmond or Coquelin then – they will run their heart and souls out!!

  64. rico says:

Bollox, I am talking to myself, I may as well carry on trying to shoot rats, I’m after the one nick-named ‘Arry!!!!

  65. agirlagunner says:

    Hello, everyone.

Rico, that was a very well written stream of consciousness match review. Haha.

That was a terrible, terrible performance. Against the Spuds of all teams!

I watched the 90-odd minutes in utter bemusement, wondering how our players can be such fantastic purveyors of slick passing and sublime first touches (*coughs Nasri, Rosicky coughs*) , but could not manage to make their superiority tell in their final third of pitch.

  66. agirlagunner says:

Barca should shut up about Cesc. Seriously, I am beginning to lose respect for that team. The way they talk him up is bad negotiation skills though. Fine, drive up his price! When AW is ready to sell, you bear the consequence.

Not that, and let’s make this clear, since he is my firm favorite, I would ever want Cesc to go though. I really couldn’t bear losing another captain to Barca.

  67. W.A.T.H says:

    Stupid thing….

  68. rico says:

Afternoon agag, i watched all 90 minutes carefully in order to write that i’ll have you know… 😉 😉

I’m still seething after last night and will be until the next time we beat them!

Re Cesc, it’s about time our club showed some bottle, every Barca player has had a say about our player, they should complain about tapping up, I’m fed up with it all to be honest…

  69. W.A.T.H says:

    Sorry Rico got booted…..!

Comes to something when a 35yr old shows Wenger what this side really needs…! Spirit committment and heart and we sady lacking in all three….!.

Wnger spouting the same old bollox about maturity and yet what we need is quality and players with fire in their belly unlike most last night…!. Wengers stubborness to not hold his hands up when he wrong is also whats wrong with a team that he wont admit to needing extra class when we can all see we not good enough.

As for the heading Rico am sure “Fu**ing Embarrassing” would of worked and been spot on.

  70. rico says:

    wath – stupid thing ??

  71. W.A.T.H says:

Rico the club got about as much bottle as half the players………… Gopublic tel Barca to fuck right off and their players and tell eufa to get their thumbs out their arses and do something about the blatant tapping up of our player.

  72. rico says:

wath, well, right now I am done with what comes out of his trap!! He is the one that buys players, or not as our case may be…

If he is being told by the board he can’t then its about time he told us the darn truth, otherwise, pay the money and sort this side out in the summer…

You know me, too PC to write even that as a heading 😉

As for Sol, he is a real fighter, has taken abuse left right and centre for years now, but still he shows every other player on our side up (bar clichy and RvP)…. Boy how I wish that man was ten years younger, also, get him tied down for next season, he could play an odd game and teach our defence what the words heart, soul, derby, blood shed mean!!!!

  73. rico says:

WATH, thats what I was trying to say 😉

  74. W.A.T.H says:

While we on the subject how does master tactician Wenger think we gonna score goals with 5 midfielders and 1 striker…? Comes to somethng when we make the yids look good…! Am sick of listening to his drivel time to get rid of what we can all see and spend the money we were promised we’d be able to do on world class players when we pay top dollar at the soulless bowl to watch a team play “pretty” football.

  75. agirlagunner says:

Keep ’em coming Rico! We loves them write-ups! If I am honest, your alternative title summed up last night’s experience. We were promised a season ending with all guns blazing, instead we collapse at Shi** Hart Lane.

I hate this Cesc to Barca buzz. It’s the pesky fly that wont’ go away! Even Messi, who everyone says does not say much, said quite a lot about our Captain. It’s become more than mildly annoying.

I will punch/kick in the shins the next player/coach/former coach/Spanish teammate/FC Barca presidential candidate to use Cesc in the same sentence as “Barcelona DNA”, “Barcelona in his blood”, “Catalan roots”. I swear, I will.

Hi, WATH. Sol turned out to be a really good signing, yeah?

  76. W.A.T.H says:

Hi AGAG, think we def need that case of grey goose eh………!

Sol highlights wengers rule of no over 30’s to be bollox… if ur good enough age don’t matter. We have rewarded players who have failed with long term contracts how the hell does that work…?. If u fail in ur job we’d get the sack…! They get a pay rise..???

  77. K-TR7 says:

Let the spuds produce a movie for all i care,i heard a DVD is out.rvp would’ve easily tore them a new one.when we stepped up a gear they couldn’t handle it.if cesc and AA were there to link up with rvp the spuds would not be talking.barca’s 4-3-3 means three forwards not mfs, next season we should field forwards there not Ams.rvp is a better forward than all their forwards combined,AA is a better am than modric, cesc pisses all over their mf.let them brag for now but chavs will spank them just wait and see, they were due a victory af ter a decade of misery.

  78. rico says:

Thanks agag, sometimes I think the stuff I write is as S***E as that team we lost to last night…

WATH – Spot on re the over 30 rule, but talking of Sol, he was one of the better signings that Wenger has made in the defence, what went wrong before that West Ham game to make him play the way he did? I have my own thoughts about that, but wtf did someone on our management team not spot he was going through ‘issues’ – they should have pampered him a bit, not let him leave…

Also, Bobby P, Gilberto – jeepers, they are still better than Denilson and Diaby!!

  79. agirlagunner says:

WATH, if we had a bottle of Grey Goose for every wrong thing that has happened to our team/ our team made happen over the last month, we’d be dead of alcohol poisoning.

You raise a good point. If our young ones are given the chance, then so should our senior citizens. Haha. I am getting tired of saying we are a growing up club.

  80. W.A.T.H says:

K-TR7……….. It’s no good saying about what when this one fit or that one fit the shit that was on the pitch last night were a disgrace to the shirt when they laid down and died and showed no fight what so ever. To lose is bad enough to not give a shit is unforgiveable…!

  81. rico says:

Thing is though KTR7, I hurt and hurt like I haven’t done all season after a loss, I can accept a little losing to money bags chavs and to a degree the mancs (hate it though, dont get me wrong) but to lose last night in the fashion we did was embarrassing…

Yes if we had AA, Gallas, RvP, Song, Ramsey, even TV for the whole game we would have done better, but we didn’t and those who played just failed to perform…

How many shots did we have on goal before Robin came on?? I think it was one and that was from our left back…

Tomas, Eboue and Nik all had chances to shoot, but no, lets pass just one more time and more often than not they either lost the ball or passed it to the spuds defence….

  82. rico says:

agag, not wishing to blow trumpets and stuff but a few months ago we had a post saying if you’re good enough you’re old enough…

Wilshere, JET, Lansbury, Chesney and a few others are all out on loan and all I read is how good they are doing – all we see is how bad some are doing for us, I say swap them round, play Wilshere instead of Diaby, Lansbury instead of Denilson, two players who are desperate to play for the first team, not two players who are possibly just playing for a wage packet…

We are Arsenal, not bleeding Burger King….

    Sorry 😦

  83. agirlagunner says:

K-TR7, I wholeheartedly agree. RvP is better than any other or all other strikers put together. (ALthough I wouldn’t say no to signing Torres. Ha.) Rooney has scored plenty, but his technique is shamed by RvP’s. There is just no comparison. And on form, Cesc deserves all the superlatives he gets.

Haha, on the Denilson comment, Rico. I don’t hate Denilson, I do try to be kind, but he doesn’t seem to have owned his position. How can he think it alright to be dispossessed of the ball and just shrug his shoulders?

  84. rico says:

Oh, and I for one right now would stick Chesney in goal rather than Almunia… In fact I’d rather me in goal than Almunia and I am rubbish!!

I need Grey Goose and I dont even like the stuff 😦

  85. agirlagunner says:

A plate of crudites and a shot of GG coming right up, Rico!

  86. rico says:

I don’t hate Denilson either agag, but it’s like water off a ducks back for him to be dispossessed of the ball – I don’t get how a man/woman can play sport at this level and think that that is ok??

Eboue lost the ball last night (yes more than once) and to be fair to him, this time he was fouled, but he got up and chased back three players to get that ball back – credit where credit is due to him…

  87. rico says:

I am looking forward to that very much agag, but please could you make that a bottle 😉 😉

  88. agirlagunner says:

I feel worse about this loss too than any other in the season, CL exit at the hands/feet of Messi, included. And I was devastated by that.

Apart from RvP, the only other good thing about last night was Clichy. Bless him, he looked to be the only other player willing Arsenal to win. Abou was woeful.

  89. W.A.T.H says:

We need to buy players who have to shave AGAG not ones with bum fluff….!. Alcohol poisoning.. Ok I’m willing to give it a try if ur game….?

Wenger must just stop with this crap about great squad etc etc etc when its clear for the whole world to see when it matters we’re nowhere near good enough and each of the last three seasons when it has really mattered our players have bottled it and come up short in the games that we had to win…!

  90. rico says:

WATH – I finally think he knows that at last, it will be interesting to see what happens to Lady Nina’s shares..

Spoke to someone yesterday who knows a bit about the stocks and shares, he told me a couple of things about what he thinks…

Mancs are going to be bought out by a group call London Knights, they are a london based Manc fan group in the S&S field..

Dippers are going to be bought out by Barclays Banck for 500M

Finally he said Stan won’t ever own us as he can’t afford to pay all the shareholders out….

We can make of that what we want….

  91. agirlagunner says:

WATH, Theo says it’s not bum fluff. Haha.

I have never seen anyone try so hard to grow a proper stubble… Add Fail. Game on the GG. Let’s send Rico a bottle.

I am happy with our midfield. I will be happier with our strikers since Chamakh should give us another dimension and Eduardo should have a good pre-season. But our defense needs a massive shake-up.

Rico, Denilson does play like a girl, sometimes.

  92. W.A.T.H says:

AGAG, time date n place and ur on with the GG 😉

Midfield def not good enough for me AGAG far to many players who far to similar and not enough who put their foot in. We also lack genuine width on the right and left and need an out and out striker. centre half we all know and I am not going to mention the word or the person who picks the ball out the net the fuckin half wit paella dropper…!

  93. agirlagunner says:

I am off, kids. Got a load off my chest. It was great talking. Nightynight! One last gulp then cap that bottle, WATH. Save it for Wigan (I am now worrying about Wigan. How sad is that?)

  94. agirlagunner says:

I am convinced about our midfield’s amazingness. Nasri just has to realize that he’s not getting Cesc’s place yet, and that he should make his position his own, AA just has to snap out of his funk, TR7 just has to realize we care more about his footballing skills than his stylish hair, Abou just has to stop worrying about other players half his size, also, Rambo will be back, and Jack is raring to go. I don’t know now how to be optimistic about Denilson. I’m sure I’ll think up something by tomorrow.

One last comment: “I am not going to mention the word or the person who picks the ball out the net the fuckin half wit paella dropper!”

Funniest thing I heard all day. I needed that.

  95. W.A.T.H says:

Nite AGAG, the lid is on the GG and its back in the freezer… we can finish 2moro..! Be good.

Abou and Denilson can piss right off 🙂

  96. rico says:

Nite agag, Denilson is an insult to a girl that plays footie, I played and I had more heart than him….

  97. rico says:

I’m off for a bit folks – see you later…

WATH, they can take Almunia with them too!!

  98. rico says:

Peeps, I’m done for the night, see you tomorrow, it will be a later one 😉

    stay safe all, night night..
