Arsene, why should we believe you this time??

The dust has settled a bit after our defeat to Barca, the heart is starting to heal, slowly.

Yesterday was cruel, Sky Sports reported all day about how wonderful Messi is, how he won the tie for Barcelona single handed, blah blah blah. Sky don’t like Arsenal do they, I bet they would have hated it had we won!

This morning though a different story is there for them to report, Sky United aka Manchester United, having been knocked out of the same competition at the same stage, are not getting the same coverage at all. Its a very subtle reporting of their loss, mainly focussing on the sending off of the manc player and how it was a harsh decision and how it changed the game…. Cods Wallop, they lost and they are out and I’m glad!! In the process, Rooney has injured himself even more but I bet Fergie doesn’t get slated by the FA, the way that the French have slated Wenger over Gallas… For sure they won’t!!

Arsene Wenger has said that he WILL need to buy players to add to the squad if we are to compete next season. Each time we approach a transfer window he says something similar doesn’t he? Will it be any different this summer? We all know we need to add players to the squad, but what we don’t need Arsene is ‘squad’ players. What we need is quality players, players who’s names should be first on the team sheet.

Since 2005 I think, every May, as the transfer window approaches I think, this time, surely this time we will see a signing that fills me with excitement, but it never happens, we sign players like Silvestre, Bischoff – who?? another kid who has great potential…. well this summer surely it has to be very different. Most of us fans who don’t wear the ‘rose tinted’ specs can see it, the Arsenal old boys, Winterburn, Adams, Dixon and Merse have been saying it, surely now the board and Arsene Wenger must see it and finally do something about it….

So do you believe Arsene Wenger this time, do you think he will finally strengthen our squad with a great player or two?Β

We are not asking for more than we deserve, just four players would do, and they don’t all have to be as good as Messi, Torres would do πŸ™‚

Bordeaux went out last night, Chamakh couldn’t save his club from defeat despite scoring. I suspect we will soon hear for definite whether he is joing us in the summer or not.

  1. rico says:

    Morning peeps

I think he will buy in the summer, but not the new spine we need, my thought is he will buy a CH and a HM, add to that Chamakh and a few youth players will finally step up.

Jack, Eastmond, JET, Sunu, Lansbury etc…

  2. Harry Barracuda says:

I think you definately knead a spill chucker.

However, it’s just pure comedy to hear Red Nose banging on about Bayern trying to influence the referee when, for as long as I can remember, his bunch of “sportsmen” have routinely surrounded and harangued referees over every decision that goes against them.

    F*U*C*K*I*N*G Hilarious!

  3. rico says:

Morning Harry, whats a spill chucker??

  4. rico says:

I get it Harry, you came on to ridicule my spelling, thanks for that, top class!!!! NOT

  5. Ralph du Plessis says:

I think Arsene will be forced to buy quality by the board and by Kroenke in particular. The corporate boxes are up for renewal and season ticket holders are not going to keep buying the most expensive seats in the league to watch an experiment for another year.

As many have been saying, we should cut off the dead wood and use that money to invest in quality.

Almunia – Not good enough as first choice
    Silvestre – Not good enough
Eduardo – Maybe one more season to see if he can get his mojo back.
Senderos – Permanently scarred by Drogba

Campbell & Gallas are nice to have around, but we need someone younger as first choice to partner the Verminator.

Anyone else who doesn’t want to be here may as well get offloaded too.

  6. rico says:

Morning Ralph, welcome to Avenell Road, good comment

Morning rsd, apart from the result – how was Barca?

  7. adrian says:

It is not OK for a club like arsenal to depend on ageing centre halves brought in as stop gaps. However, despite the errors made Arsene is still the only way forward. I am sure he will recruit the necessary players in the summer. If the club fails to progress, he will quit as he realises he can do no more.

  8. rico says:

Morning adrian, welcome to AR, i don’t think he will quit, only because he talks up the youth project, that same youth are on the verge of breaking through into the fist team squad – 2/3 very good players added in the summer and a few got rid of. We need to have the depth and strength to rotate, then we may see fewer injured players…

  9. harryo says:

think he will buy in the summer. how many times over the last couple of years have i heard that line. he will buy one player maybe but keep this team as he hates to be wrong. i garrantee dennilson will be in our midfield next season with the clown in nets. van percie our new centre forward and ramsey like a new new signing and djourou the centre half we have all been waiting for

  10. rico says:

morning harryo, every summer we hear the same old… surely one summer he has to tell the truth…

  11. Andes says:

Arsene does not care whether you believe he will buy or not. The reporters asking questions, he gave answers. As simple as that.

If AW wants to strengthen the team, that’s because he believes we need to. Not because he wants to please the fans.

  12. Erick says:

Morning all AW will definetly buy but the main focus should be on our weak points Goalkeeper, 2CH and a lethal striker

  13. was alright

getting over the altitude sickness from camp nou.

was a laugh in the port tho

this reporter came over and was asking us to get out of our seats and move around so she could get a pretty pic

  14. malala says:

The massive defeat at Nou camp was just a wakeup call and an advantage in disguise.I trust Wenger and believe in his credentials as one of the best coaches in the world. However I dont trust him when it comes to getting new players. We have lost heavily to Man u,Chelski and now Barca. The major song is we are building a team, this team never matures.Wenger must buy,go for class not just a player, players who can rise to the occassion, who can be relied upon, players who can make the difference.I have been a friend of this website and the longer I have stayed the more I have read about fans who are downhearted coz of Wengers inability to buy.We need action not words of encouragement. The time is NOW!

  15. rico says:

Morning Erick, I think he will, he has to, we can’t compete with the chavs, mancs now and sure as heck they will buy in the summer, so we need to do the same..

Morning malala – welcome, spot on..

Welcome Andes – AW should care what fans think, they pay to watch, pay for the food etc, and keep the club earning money…

  16. Kzyone says:

Wenger and the board got people killed week in and out. I wish they listen to arsenal fans news around the globe. Arsenal fans love this club with their hearts and some minor of people who called themselves the board and Mr Wenger toy with their hearts. I think we need the fans have to do something. We are the only tool which can change thing at Arshbuton Grove and we have to do it now. I do not believe Wenger will buy big. We all know. When the comes he would say Ramsey, Djourou and Van Persie are new signings. I think I’m fed of him and the board. I have been advocating for we the fans boycotting the stadium. But some think I aren’t a sincere fan. It shows clearly what we need. Many of our current players are not good enough to play for this world brand club. I love Arsenal and each I watch Arsenal humiliated like that of Tuesday night find it very very difficult to come alive. We “FANS” can surely change things. Real Madrid, Barcelona and some other clubs had done it before. We too can do it. Enough of romancing Cooper like gold… Gunners till I die

  17. rico says:

Has anyone else see the Richard Keys gaff he made, he called Theo S***E and told ‘the little boy to get up in his stupid pink boots’ – he obviously thought the microphone was off – just about sums up what we have all said about Sky Sports and AFC…

  18. Suhail.TV says:

    Mornig all … .

  19. rico says:

That clip is funny rsd.. I didn’t understand a word she said πŸ˜‰

  20. rico says:

    Morning STV

  21. nor did we that why we would move for her and took the piss

  22. rico says:

Morning kzyone – welcome to Avenell Road, I clicked your link and it came back as here πŸ™‚

Tuesday was hard to watch, as were the loses to the Mancs and Chavs, especially at home..

  23. MikE says:

i believe we will see a new commanding cb, (we must!) experienced and strong dm cover (or to allow song to play in the back four from time to time)and another centre forward as cover / competition for nic. probably chamack.

we will see wilshere next season and he will be like a new signing too.

    goalie? maybe. probably not.

it will be sad but i expect to see a few of our forwards move on – vela, rosicky and maybe even edourdo who may be happier in a less physical league.

i think il capitano will stay for a final season before moving on but who knows …… i bet he’d love to play for barcelona at the moment.

  24. he’s not good enough mike

  25. rico says:

Hi mike, where would cesc play in a current barca side?? i hope that is what he realises and stays, but like you i don’t think he will move this summer or next – especially IF we start winning something…

  26. see chamkakaka scored again last night was just a tap in tho but the more i see of him he could be useful.

i’m sure wenger will train it out of him tho.

  27. rico says:

ah, now i know you didn’t read the post rsd πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  28. read somewhere that barca went 6 years from 99-06 without a trophy while the likes of xavi inesta messi came through the ranks.

    food for thought

  29. Suhail.TV says:

Am afraid wenger may play chamakh at left mid field or a right back. Because there are good players like eduardo vela walcott emmanuel thomas to pick from and he is so versatile.

  30. Danish Gooner says:

We already have chamakh in the bag if he doesnt get injured,he probably will now he has joined us.Then we get around 50 mil selling Cesc in the summer and yes it will happen, then i would like to see the back of Rosicky, when not injured his forte is wasting big chances and having it of with prostitutes complete waste of space and not fit for the PL, he could fetch around 8 to 10 mil ,then we can release gallas, and silvestre they are only good as traffic cones. Then we need a couple of decent centre backs cost 10 to 20 mil,a decent creative midfielder unfortunately we cant promote Ramsey, ask shawcross why ??? cost 30 mil or less if Wenger finds a gem.A new strong commanding goal keeper with Almunia as a stand in cost 10 mil or less and finally a decent winger nor vela and not walcott cost 20 mil.Total amount due between 80 mil max, fetch 60 plus release of traffic cone money.

  31. MOE says:

Look at Bayern Munchen. They were shit 2 years ago. What did they do? They Bought Ribery, Van Bommel, Robben, etc….. and added them to the good players they had. Look at them now. I bet everyone that the final will be Inter against Bayern. Mourinho is the only man capable of stopping Barca. His player will kick the hell out of Messi and Xavi. They will press them in Midfield a la Bolton style. Wenger was so stubborn although he knew that to stop Barca with the squad he had, he had to use the physical approach. One physical approach in the whole match got us the opening goal.

  32. Suhail.TV says:

Players to be ousted.. Arshavin gallas silvertse vela manuelmunia rosicky. Players to buy. Chamakh akinfeev van der vaart chellini milner.

  33. rico says:

rsd – ktr7 was telling us that about barca yesterday afternoon, i didn’t have a clue they had gone so long with nothing whilst waiting for the players they now to becomce good enough. look at them now…

i guess this is what AW thinks will happen with our lot, it just seems to take forever and as a fan its hard to be patient. But, those kids are not kids any longer, i think we will see a few burst through next season.

  34. rico says:

MOE, good comment, Van Bommel was once on his way to us, didn’t he put a nasty tackle in on one of our players then it all fell through??

I remember Spuds wanted him to, he said they weren’t a big enough club for him, i liked him for that…

  35. it always does

you should remember rico 18 years it was once

  36. Suhail.TV says:

This players are so..o.. In consistant. Look how diaby denilsen walcott performing in different games. Why if you give 90% in a game instead of 100% you’re not a good player, Specially arshavin and diaby.

  37. Edmond Dantes says:

    Morning Gooners

The manure loss has lifted my spirits. They were 3-0 up. They got nobody but themselves to blame. The ref was just doing his job. Lets also give Bayern some credit.

They knew exactly how to play against ten men. Moving the ball left to right and right to left. Using width to stretch that defence and pulling defenders out of position.

We looked ineffective against the 10 men Wolves last week.

  38. rico says:

    STV, Arshavin out?? Interesting πŸ˜‰

I wish someone knew what is going on with Carlos Vela, we signed him twenty years ago, let him out on loan for fifteen years then when he finally gets here we don’t play him???

  39. rico says:

I know rsd, but under Wenger we all expect more, and more often πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Could be worse, it could be 50 odd years πŸ™‚

  40. rico says:

Morning Edmond, it was a shocking bit of reffing though, Ribbery should have been booked not the manc, but not that i care πŸ˜‰

  41. patthegooner says:

    Hi Rico

Do you remember, we were discussing whether we believed if Arsene would strengthen last Summer and in Jan.

It is a case of Cry Wolf for me now. I dont believe he will. I Think he will sign a player, but he will fall short of doing enough.

  42. Edmond Dantes says:

Hey guys you not gonna believe it but I will be meeting Arsene during the World Cup in June. He will be attending an embassy dinner.

  43. Suhail.TV says:

As for as arshavin, it seems his attitude is disrespectfull for the club and manager. He is not giving 100 % let down the club and fans by pessimistic comments. Diaby and eduardo to get a year more to show the worth.

  44. Edmond Dantes says:

Rico. What goes around comes around. Its about time Manure get a “debatable” decision go against them.

  45. harryo says:

glad to see the mancs out but i hate twots like ribery who wave imaginary cards at the ref. thank god we didnt buy him

  46. rico says:

Hi pat, relly good to see you here πŸ™‚

I do remember and like you i doubt he is truthing in his comment, but i live in hope that one day he will realise that he has to change, he has to get players that will enhance our squad, maybe it will finally be this summer…

  47. rico says:

harryo, i can’t stand the imaginary card either, he isn’t the player he once was, i thought in the first leg against the manc he was slow…

  48. rico says:

I think Ribery may have just scuppered his move to the mancs πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

  49. Tsokan says:

I know we lost properly,bt how come nobody talks about the poor officiating against Arsenal.I mean, why ws Bendtner ruled off at 1-1 wen he ws clearly onside?Y were Barca players nt booked for some terrible fouls. They played better,bt Bussacca & Stark deserve to be beaten.

  50. rico says:

Hi Tsokan, its the british media for you, they hate us and love to see us lose…

  51. patthegooner says:

    Good Rico

Ribery is exactly the kind of signing we need

27 and at his peak and to be honest, if we met the valuation (1 yr left on his contract), I reckon he would choose Arsenal over any other club in England.

  52. K-TR7 says:

    Hi fellas,whats happening…

  53. striker says:

By now if AW doesn’t know he has to buy quality rather than wc promising kids he shd be sacked. Wilshire,Freeman,Vela,Eastmond were touted for potential. On top of that they had to be farmed out to get experience. You look at Everton and they pitch the young ones without waste of time.
I am afraid AW will continue with his buy young policy
because he beliieves it will come good although the overwhelming evidence is it is getting nowhere.

  54. Suhail.TV says:

Our record against big teams in last 10 games.. W0 D1 L9. Goals scored 9 conceded 26! . God, its looking like stats of a championship team..

  55. rico says:

Good point pat, hopefully he would learn not to wave the card around… but seriously, that is the kind of player we need, i agree, experienced and the right mentality..

He needs to get any transfers sorted out before the WC to, we know what happened to AA’s price after one good Euro’s competition…

  56. rico says:

Morning KTR7, we are all smiling after the mancs got dumped out πŸ™‚

striker, we discussed that here a while ago, why do some of the younger players not get thrown into the mix, Rooney, Owen are good examples of if you are good enough you can make it…

  57. goonermike says:

Right, bit of perspective here. we’ve played most of the season without RvP. our goals per game dropped from around 3 to about 1.5 then to play the 2nd leg without cesc, song, and gallas….. imagine barca without Messi, xavi, busquets and the world class back up CB’s they seem to have. we have done damn well for (another) injury ravaged season. we cannot pump money into players who will not play week in week out. we need a CB which wenger knows, compare us to every other bugger in world football we ARE doing well. keep the faith, don’t let a bad result taint it. we are still in with a shot of winning the league. Money DOES NOT = success. (Real Madrid, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool etc…)

  58. K-TR7 says:

Sneijder led inter to the semis, robben volleyed bayern to the semis while realm never got past the round of 16.i feel we need a big CH,a flamini type midfielder and a forward(chamakh).don’t give up on AA because i think he and rvp will explode as a partnership next season.

  59. rico says:

Hi gm, we have done well considering our injuries, but barca also had a few missing…

i don’t think we are asking too much here, just two or three players to get us to the top. if we had the right squad, we would have coped better with injuries, when it comes to playing the ‘big guns’ we are shot down…

as for Real, Citeh and spending, they just don’t spend wisely, Hughes was like a kid in a sweet shop, who else would pay 15M for Toure and 25M for lardy??
rafa is the same, the only great player he has bought is torres…

Its not so much the money, its who you buy with that money, thats where AW is a little better than others… Not always though..

  60. Tsokan says:

    Hi rico
@Suhail Where did u get dat frm & what is ur definition of big teams?Cus i recall we beat Man u & Chelsea last season & beat Liverpool home & away this season.

  61. rico says:

Tsokan, this season we have lost to Chavs twice, mancs twice, citeh once, i can’t stomach those losses!!

Just hope we mash the spuds….

  62. rico says:

Guys – I have to pop out for a while, back laters

  63. Suhail.TV says:

@stocken last 10 games against chelsea man utd and barca, though we beat liverpool thrice this season.Hope we beating spurs and man utd losing points. Am off bye for every body.

  64. Suhail.TV says:

    Sorry its tsoken

  65. patthegooner says:

I think most Gooners had the perspective right before the games against Barca. Speaking personally my Head thought we would do very well to get through given the injuries and the quality of Barca (although my heart was telling me we would win it)

What I did not expect or accept was the lacklustre rabbit in headlights performance on both days especially from the more senior players.

What I dont want this summer is more squad players. What we need is better additions to the 1st team

A WC Keeper (Although that wont happen)
a WC CB (Forget Gallas, he is on the decline)
    A WC Winger
A DM (there is no back upto Song)

And I would say a WC Striker but we have Chamakh coming!!!! so that wont happen

  66. Erick says:

K-tr7 AA does not need time just a change of his attitude

  67. K-TR7 says:

What people are forgetting regarding injuries is that we have coped well with injuries so far but you need your best players to beat barca and that is a fact.the mancs missed fletcher in the cl final where barca pissed all over them.we had the spine of our team ripped off and we still scored them 3 goals while mancs and chavs combined were only able to score 1 goal against them last year.if we improve our defence we will sweep all infront of us;3 goals in a qf is supposed to take you through but unfortunately we concedem 6 which is criminal!

  68. Erick says:

K-TR7 Nasir Rosicky and Diaby were the key to taking us through but they never lived up to the expectation 😦

  69. rico says:

    Have i missed anything??

    Afternoon all

  70. Erick says:

Nop Rico still letting off some steam

  71. rico says:

    πŸ˜† Erick, good, its healthy

  72. rico says:

See we are linked with Subotic, Boateng and a PSG midfielder called Stephane Sessegnon….

Let the silly rumours begin πŸ™‚

  73. W.A.T.H says:

    Sessegnon is a striker Rico πŸ˜‰ afternoon….!
Subotic rumour been around a while now..!

  74. rico says:

Afternoon wath, are you sure πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Paris Saint Germain midfielder Stephane Sessegnon has admitted he is considering his future at the Parisien club with Aston Villa and Arsenal the reported front-runners according to the French press.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has tracked the midfielder since he moved to France from his native country of Benin, for who the all-round midfield player has 35 full international caps. Wenger was linked with a move for the midfielder last summer, along with West London club Chelsea and Aston Villa.

  75. rico says:

I heard of Subotic, but who is Boateng…

  76. W.A.T.H says:

Boateng they reckon will make german WC squad also centre half I think…! Seesegnon plays right wing up front another little midget….. Villa are welcome 2 him

  77. W.A.T.H says:

    Oh and Rico…………..

    6 days to tottenringham…….. there’s only 6 days to totteringham……………!! πŸ˜‰

  78. rico says:

Fairy snuff wath, Subotic is meant to be pretty good isn’t he, and if Boateng is due for German team then lets hope this one has some truth behind the rumour – in fact the two together would sort the defence in one foul swoop… keep gallas and djourou, and stick TV up into midfield… πŸ™‚

  79. rico says:

i have just updated the fixtures on the side bar, and seeing that fixture gets the heart racing….

  80. W.A.T.H says:

    Don’t kno about heart racing…………… πŸ˜‰

  81. rico says:

πŸ˜† You know I am being polite πŸ˜‰

  82. W.A.T.H says:

    Polite…………. you………….. when πŸ˜›

See RVP back in full training shortly…! Impact sub 4 the yids..! comes on 2 score the winner….! Yes plz…!

  83. rico says:

And Djourou and Gibbs back shortly too wath…

RvP getting the winner against the swampies would make his injury worth while πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

  84. Erick says:

    WATH how is you πŸ™‚

  85. W.A.T.H says:

I am fine thanx Erick just opened my 2nd bottle of vodka πŸ˜‰

RVP, Djourou and Gibbs all a month to late Rico…!

  86. rico says:

RvP may just wath, the other two will be next season sadly, but only five games left, hope Sol can be fit for all of them… Especially the spuddies….

  87. W.A.T.H says:

Sol will make mash out the spuds……….!

Gibbs n Djourou will play b4 the season ends Rico watch…!

  88. rico says:

But they are only due back in training in a fortnight, AW fortnights are more like months πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Bit like men and their inches 😳

  89. W.A.T.H says:

It wasnt a Wenger forthnight it was a Lewin fortnight….! Good job mines a 42inch then eh….! πŸ˜‰

  90. Graham says:

What a load of negative trash most people are spouting. Anyone would think we were hovering around he relegation zone to read some of the anti-Wenger diatribe. Here we are with just five games to go and still in with a genuine chance of Premiership glory yet all people want to do is stick the knife in. Yes, we did lose heavily to Barca but with half the team out is there really so much shame in that? Look at Man U – they struggle if just one key player (Rooney) is missing, let alone five of them. And don’t forget that we’ve had big players out injured pretty much throughout the whole campaign but have still hung in there. This team is definitely improving and on the verge of something big. If others mirror the improvement shown by the likes of Song and Diaby this season, then the future is even more promising. Wenger only needs a couple of additions to make this happen, not the wholesale changes that some people are advocating. Have faith!

  91. rico says:

I knew you would come back with something cheeky πŸ™‚

  92. rico says:

Talking of cheeky, i’m taking my puppies to the coast for a couple of days tomorrow πŸ™‚ Will be good to take my mind off the up and coming footie fixture πŸ™‚

  93. Erick says:

WATH am not suprised I thought you should have passed out by now πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ The league will be a really scrappy affair however wins it and I hope its us will deserve it

  94. W.A.T.H says:

    I’m saying nuffin………….. πŸ˜‰

  95. rico says:

πŸ˜† Erick, I would have thought wath would be on his third by now, its warm here today, he must be thirsty πŸ˜‰

  96. W.A.T.H says:

It’s not really the weather to be getting ur puppies out Rico… best u be careful πŸ˜‰

Me pass out Erick… never mate, I need a few barrels of the stuff to pass out, us sailors are made of sterner stuff you know πŸ™‚

  97. W.A.T.H says:

Did the whisky for brekkie Rico this is the 2nd bottle of grey goose…! πŸ˜‰

  98. rico says:

    Who’s a grey goose πŸ˜‰

That’s not what Ive heard about sailors πŸ˜‰

  99. rico says:

Them puppies will be in the sea, trust me πŸ˜‰

  100. W.A.T.H says:

If they in the sea I can guarantee they will be pleased to see me πŸ˜‰

Yeh well we dont wanna hear your stories of your exploits with sailors…. This is a childrens site 2 you kno πŸ˜›

  101. rico says:

Welcome to Avenell Road Graham, I agree Song has come on leaps and bounds but Diaby?? mmme, he is very inconsistant imho

as for this being negative, we are totally the opposite, we can all see we are so close to winning a few things but still fail against the chavs and mancs….

  102. rico says:

    Ok, I will stop right there…. πŸ˜‰

  103. W.A.T.H says:

    U kno when u beat I see…………… u so kno u don’t wanna stop though πŸ˜‰

  104. rico says:

    πŸ˜† wath, me, nah – beat i mean πŸ˜‰

  105. W.A.T.H says:

Don’t really think anyone on here is asking for wholesale changes Graham jsut do what we been promised would be a start and how long do you wait for certain players to “mature” Diaby is a pain in the backside everytime it actually matters he goes missing simple as that. Noone really expected us to beat barca with the injuries we have BUT then again why do we always have these injuries year after year after year. IF the squad was bigger and better we ould cope and why always loan out players that would of done a job. Wenger out is a no no for me BUT he must pull his finger out and address the promlem positions that we have had for 3 yrs running now simple as that.

  106. Graham says:

Agree, Rico, that Diaby is inconsistent and sometimes frustrating but the ability is certainly there. It just seems that many Arsenal supporters are not happy unless they’re being critical and not in a constructive sense either. Instead of getting behind up-and-coming young players like Bendtner, Walcott, Denilson et al, they are more prone to spout their vitiol whenever such players put in a dodgy performance or two. In my opinion, Wenger has built a fantastic squad that will be the envy of most. All we need is the addition of a couple of proven performers and some luck on the injury front.

  107. rico says:

Graham, I am with wath, if we had the right squad we could rotate without causing too much of a difference but look what happens when Song is out – we get Denilson or worse still Diaby, they just arent good enough, Diaby blows hot and cold and as said when up against the biggie he just goes awol..

I disgree about not being happy unless being critcal, it would be much nicer to come on here each day knowing we have thumped yet another side 2/3/4 -0….

The squad is almost there….. but not quite..

  108. Erick says:

Totally agree Graham constructive criticism is needed but we have to point where the problem is and that means mentioning a player or two. Diaby is a great talent best box to box player I have ever seen but he has his day but when realy needed he is short 😦

  109. Erick says:

WATH and Rico you two are pure naughty puppies and booze πŸ™‚

  110. rico says:

    πŸ˜› Erick – me??

  111. K-TR7 says:

Hi WATH.Our defence isn’t as bad as people make it out to be;the lack of adequate protection by the other players costs us exposing our defence.we also lose the ball alot compared to 07-08 season.if you watched how xavi behaved like a thermostat on tuesday;raising the tempo in first half while he slowed down the tempo in the second to retain their our squad only cesc and rosicky can do that and thats why nasri rarely plays through the middle as barca exposed him.

  112. Erick says:

Yap you Rico but Wath is the one with them horns Where is this Sailor πŸ˜‰ K- TR7 am waiting for the autopsy but it seemed to me Xavi was influential in the second half but was also kind of anoymous at sometime in the game

  113. rico says:

πŸ˜† Erick, your on form today…

  114. Erick says:

Rico and still not at my peak πŸ˜‰

  115. Erick says:

The Dippers play today any wishes even though i know you hate them πŸ™‚

  116. agirlagunner says:

Hello, everyone. Can’t believe we have to wait a week to watch Beloved team play again.

    Someone mentioned Grey Goose?

KTR7, I agree with your observation on Rosicky’s ability to dictate the tempo… which is why I was, for the first time ever, appalled by his performance. WTF was that? So atypical of him.

  117. rico says:

Hope they get thrashed Erick, I hate them not quite as much as I hate the spuds, but very nearly as much….

Hi agag, wath is the Grey Goose fan, I always thought it was an animal until i realised you are meant to put it on your cornflakes πŸ™‚

  118. agirlagunner says:

I hate them too, Rico. That’s the most expensive blah team ever assembled.

Grey Goose is also meant for dipping your toast in… Ha.

  119. Erick says:

Hope Torres bags one because of his comment on Arsenal AGAG how is Manila and the Peso πŸ™‚

  120. rico says:

Lets compromise Erick, hope he gets a goal, but in his own net πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

    agag, and rafa is a k**b πŸ˜‰

  121. Erick says:

Will the the Dippers make it to the CL?

  122. agirlagunner says:

Erick, Manila is not sleeping since it’s a non-working holiday tomorrow! Grey goose galore. The peso is hopeless.

I would looooove for Torres to have a few bad games, consequently, to be sooooo angry with himself, and makes it his priority to score a hattrick agains the Chavs.

Rico, Benitez is a bit of a madman. That Truth Diatribe against Rednose still makes me laugh.

  123. rico says:

Erick, no, i think Citeh will get 4th

agag, that was funny, and he rant at sky sports saying he would only talk about football…

  124. agirlagunner says:

Benitez seems to be on somewhat good terms with AW though.

Remember this Barney Ronay article on why Arsenal is not scary, but why Benitez is… “…This sounds more plausible, if only because BenΓtez is genuinely quite scary, in the manner of the inoffensive-looking nerdy bloke who turns out to have all sorts of tricky repartee and reserves of malevolent energy when you absentmindedly pick a minor quarrel with him, perhaps in an overheated department store queue…”?

  125. rico says:

I haven’t seen that before agag..

  126. agirlagunner says:

Oh he knocked our players a bit, but it was really rather funny.

  127. rico says:

I’m off for a bit peeps, laters

  128. Q Sola says:

I will always saying this, Wenger is the problem for the situations we are facing right now, how on earth a man with a calibre like Wenger refused to see what the whole world could vividly see, for five years? a manager did not know what he should do to form a formidable team? this must be thrillion jokes.

Him and the board are always contented in as much we qualify for champions league every season. The manager is not so stupid to understand what the issue was, but is a shame, i hate to heard that there is know money, all our money where are they, money for Adebayor, Toure, the Tv money and the budgeting money where are they. Well, let wait this time around, because he made promises he wouldn’t fulfilled, time and time again, I don’t trust the man at all, his wife must be a strong woman. I am really sorry for our team, they really tried, when there was know backups, that was the major reason we hard alot of injuries this season, well done Mr Wenger

  129. Erick says:

Hope its not the Chinese holiday which last for a week and I thought the financial trouble was declining

  130. rico says:

Guys and Gals, Im off for the night so all be good and stay safe…

See you in the morning sometime…

    Nighty night peoples πŸ™‚

  131. Ben says:

Guys, still remember during the start of the season? When we beat up those teams in great numbers? The pundits, the fans all saying how great the bench that Arsenal having, now by losing to a few (in fact just 3) great teams for the whole seasons, and with all the bad lucks (injuries) we are having, suddenly the bench is too shallow, players are not good enough, manager have to leave, really????!!!!

Remember Song? Bendtner? Vermaelen? Diaby? Eboue? At some point you guys have doubts, boos, criticisms, and now? They are more than fine now, can you see what i saw?

Yes its true people lead by emotions, losing might not be a good way to stay rational, what i am saying is be patient, stay with your team, this is a very promising team from what i saw, I believe if we spent like chelsea, R Madrid or Man City, we might already end up like newcastle spending our seoson in championship, the fact is that we have huge debt building up our new stadium (which is brilliant!), and i thought what our manager having that different from the others is he has faith, he believes in the team for all these years, thats to me is great great quality!

Yes, i agreed on some positions we were short of players, like CB, DM, and Almunia, but i also believe that our manager is also not stupid enough to ignore that, I think he is trying to sign some players, however you cant always get what you want, whether to join Arsenal is up to the player and agreement with the club, great player doesnt come easy, whether is the price or his will, they might even reject the offer because of the tax system. So please stop all these nonsense, write some positive articles, have faith with Arsenal~ Gunners for life!~

  132. rico says:

Morning all, New Post is up

Welcome Ben, come and join us on the new one and bring your comments, same for you Q Sola, welcome on board hope to see you on the new post

  133. Arseneβ€˜s a top top manager who has taken Arsenal to the very top. I know he’s look a bit jaded on the sidelines and has become kind of hopeless but if he’s really a great manager(which I think he is), then you can surely expect him to come stronger from this slump.
Also, he’s admitted that he’ll strengthen the squad where it is required to. He also has openly criticized his defence which he never has done earlier. This shows he’s learnt from his mistakes and I do expect Arsenal to beat United next Sunday. I know the title is completely gone(by completely gone I mean no chance whatever might happen) but it’ll do the confidence of players a world of good.I think he needs some players but more importantly needs to ask his players to work harder like Barcelona. People say that our football is brilliant. But I’ll tell you what’s brilliant. Yes, possession football is brilliant but along with it is clinical finishing. So is a defender putting his body on the line. If all this is done, then we’ll become a title winning team. Not now.
This man breathes Arsenal and loves it more than any of the Arsenal fans. I know there’s no place of sentiments in football but who do you think will replace him. And do you think that no top club would want him.The thing is, Arsenal have a youth policy which cannot be forgotten. Someone like Mourinho would just not care about the Wilshere’s, the Ramsey’s and co. That means the whole of 5 years wasted. Wenger would surely figure out what’s wrong and if he cannot cope with the pressure, I think he’ll leave by himself.Yeah I know about him respecting his contract but I know that he’ll leave for Arsenal’s future. I again mention, Arsene loves Arsenal FC and given it more than anyone could ever do.
