Phew, we got there in the end….

It was a bit like watching ‘the three little pigs’ when I finally got to see the game. We huffed, we puffed and on 94 minutes we blew the Wolves house down.

Yesterday in my post I said three points please and I honestly didn’t care how we got them. I feel the same today, gritty performances are one’s that win trophies, and yesterday was just that. Yes there were errors, lots of them, but as a team we fought to the end and got maximum points – with it, we kept alive our chance to win the Premier League.

The Mancs are obviously getting twitchy as Old Red Nose is playing the mind games, telling the world that Chelsea are now the favourites to win the league, but he needs to look over his right shoulder at the dark horses who are ready to make the final bolt over the line.

I’d be fuming if I was SAF, how many yards exactly was Drogba offside?? It is quite funny to see the decision go against them, but on the other hand a draw would have suited us better. I thought Andy Gray was going to cry!!

Not read any reports of any injuries from yesterdays game which is great news, I did though fear that Rosicky was due another few years on the sick bed after being on the end of a clattering tackle.

How many great chances did we miss? 4,5,6??? Maybe Lady Luck is saving them for Tuesday….

Tit bits this morning – Cesc is off to Barca for £50M, Chamakh deal is done and dusted. I thought papers were meant to report news not old stories with a few words changed…

Short, but it’s Easter, I have chocolate to eat 🙂

Have a great day all

  3. i caught a bit safari they looked good as usual but they had pique and puyol in defence they wont on tues

  4. rico says:

Morning Erick, its good they have a few injury concerns, especailly Ibra – KTR7 will be on before tuesday i am sure, we need his round up before the game 🙂

  5. rico says:

    morning rsd …

  6. rico says:

4-1 winners against Bilbao though, not Real Madrid 😉 😉

  7. Erick says:

Morning Rico and RSD. Thats great news K-tr7 is doing a preview great so great. RSD did you spot any weakness??

  8. rico says:

Thats me hoping KTR7 will do one Erick, fingers crossed 😉

  9. rico says:

Messi is a weakness Erick 😆

  10. Erick says:

How I wish Rico we just need to go at them no need sitting back AW needs to play an attack minded team that the only way through

  11. wasn’t watch that close but if we can get the ball we can score. anyone know how long to put lamb in oven

  12. Erick says:

Rico may be me no idea but i know how to eat it when its ready??

  13. rico says:

Sorry rsd, no idea, I don’t eat or cook meat…

  14. god why do meat veg’s everywhere i turn

you know it brings down your life expectancy

  15. K-TR7 says:

Morning erick&rico.barca played well with bojan scoring twice, jeffren and messi.they played at high tempo but they tired towards the end where bilbao scored and could have even equalised since barca looked jaded and thats why we need theo to play in the second half not from the start.they looked so vulnerable to counters it was scary.bojan is really quick and would cause all sorts of problems for sol if he starts.their play is also faster and more fluid when ibra isn’t playing.maxwell played in cm with abidal at lb after his long injury layoff.ibra, iniesta and toure are injured while pique and puyol are suspended, they are struggling to name a 23 man squad for the game.

  16. rico says:

not a veggie rsd, how does it bring down life expectancy??

  17. Erick says:

You guys are not serious no meat what do you eat?? I love meat yummy

  18. le foxe says:

    Happy Easter all

Wow, that was a bit of a nervy ending yesterday! Hopefully we will be much more clinical on Tuesday!

  19. Erick says:

K-TR7 hallo man nice can we win this one lad if we turn up am talking really turning up??

  20. Erick says:

LF you can say that again AW himself said it he wasn’t sure we were going to score

  21. rico says:

Morning KTR7, that is good news, I hope they are absolutely wacked for Tuesday, our first eleven should be pretty fresh.

i know we are without Gallas and Cesc, but they are missing big key players, this tie is going to be very interesting..

You up for the pre barc post on tuesday morning ktr7?

  22. rico says:

Morning LF – we certainly left it late, but better late than never 😉 😉

  23. Moda says:

    Who is K-TR7?

  24. rico says:

Morning Moda, KTR7 is one of our bloggers who follows Euro football with great interest and gives us his views…

  25. rico says:

Erick, i haven’t eaten meat for 5/6 years now and don’t miss it one bit – veggie food has come on leaps and bounds if you need a quick meal, mostly though I cook my own ‘stuff’ with pasta, rice etc…

  26. K-TR7 says:

Rico-i’ll do my best.barca fans don’t like ibra and some are fancying their chances without him but they have never understood him.guardiola bought him as a plan B;For all their play on weds their goals came from long balls since the pretty passing brought no reward, mark my words they will miss him.if our lads turn up erick we will scare them, most of their opponents at the camp nou park the bus but they will have never faced a team like us there in a long time.

  27. Erick says:

Thanks K-TR7 you what about their make shift defence any weakness over their can Eboue directness make something out of it what about Messi poor showing at the grove do we need to have special attention for him?

  28. Erick says:

Rico meat is my lifestyle without it in my meals i don’t count it as a meal especially fried meat yummy 😉 change topic am already missing it

  29. rico says:

Thanks KTR7, It will be good as you’ll know all the pre match barca injuries etc, looking forward to it already 🙂

Ercik, lets talk about carrots then 🙂 🙂

  30. K-TR7 says:

Erick-messi shines when given the time and space.top teams don’t give him space and thats why he looks poor.kelvin palmer was destroyed by arsenal fans when he criticized theo’s perfomance vs wolves.in the first half theo looked like the world’s greatest prospect but got tired in the second half but he is getting there.the chavs perfomance mirrored ours at the old toilet except this time the mancs couldn’t cheat their way to a victory.it was funny to see fletcher and co squirm when the decisions didn’t go their way.

  31. rico says:

Theo on with 35 minutes to go KTR7, unless we are winning 5-0 and all looks too easy 😉

  32. rico says:

Guys, its stopped raing and the sun is shining so off out in the garden for an hour – back a little later…

Don’t eat too many Easter Eggs all 🙂

  33. K-TR7 says:

Rico-my MOTM vs wolves was morzart.his link up play was superb especially with theo, tracked back, took a couple of good shots and fought like a lion.i suspect he will start on the left at the nou camp.eboue’s directness will be employed on the right.diaby plays well when he plays only one game per week and thats why he was rested.AW may decide to give him the Am role where he will run at barca defence pinning them back or award it to nasri.AW has some difficult decisions to make.bendtner will win everything in the air against milito/marquez/abidal,he may even score if the delivery is right.

  34. rico says:

Thanks for your comment Dash, needless to say you don’t need to wipe your feet as your not coming in – your own blog must be so so good……..

Oh, I suspect strongly that you don’t have one…

    Twerp!!

  35. rico says:

I thought he was just like his old self too KTR7, he was unlucky not to get himself on the score sheet. I worried big tim when the wolves player went through him though.. Thankfully no harm done, I hope he starts on Tuesday…

We need Nasri to have a great away game too!

  36. Erick says:

K-TR7 am waiting for the preview Diaby might be the key hope he shows up my fingers are crossed for sure

  37. Erick says:

I don’t see Rosicky playing in the away game probably as an impact sub Denilson will definetly start. Rico its also raining here everyday

  38. K-TR7 says:

Erick-due to shortage of personell and experience he will start.rosicky also takes our game to a whole new level when playing.who would you trust with the free role between diaby/nasri/rosicky?

  39. Erick says:

Am thinking Eboue playing in left was no fluke AW is thinking to use the flanks to win that game but Rosicky is better may be he will suprise us all by playing Dudu on the left

  40. agirlagunner says:

Hello, everyone. I am a faithful reader, but post very infrequently. I am convinced I will die of a coronary watching Beloved Team play. How late was that? Kevin Palmer was slaughtered by Arsenal fans, myself included. He isn’t fit to tie the laces on Theo’s boots. How one is paid for churning out such rubbish is beyond me! He knows nothing about football, and less about our club.

  41. rico says:

Hello agirlagunner – welcome to Avenell Road, by your name i take you’re a lady?? Good, that would make two of us here.

Sorry for the delay, you were in moderation, your comments now will go straight on..

I didn’t think they would score, it seemed an impossible task so late, but credit to Sagna for the perfect cross and Nik the perfect finsh ….

  42. rico says:

Erick – I think Eboue could be on the RM and Rosicky on the left, Nasri and Denilson in the middle.

Nik up front with Dudu or Diaby is my thought. Diaby has the legs to get up and back to help out if needed…

  43. K-TR7 says:

Afternoon AGAG.I love alves saying we need a miracle to get to the semis despite the game ending in a draw.well alves miracles do happen especially we gunner fans see them well too often.remember pride comes before a fall;ramos said they will beat lyon 3 nil in cl 2nd leg but …barca never took their chances so…

  44. Erick says:

K-TR7 miracles lately we have been experiencing them but Alves should be very careful but time will surely tell come Tuesday. Rico i just feel if Diaby has a good game we will definetly get into the Semi hope Alves will eat his words

  45. rico says:

I reckon play Diaby as the second striker Erick, if he has a good game he could nab a couple of goals – i wouldnt trust Dudu for Tuesday 😦

  46. K-TR7 says:

I think diaby and nasri will share the free role.diaby will get it when we need numbers in the box to get at the end of crosses while nasri will get it when we need craft and guile in the final third.barca’s pressing game will intercept alot of passes hence with nasri and diaby in the middle we can dribble ourselves out of tight pressure sitiuations with denilson making the simple passes to keep the game flowing.sevilla won against barca through counter attacks and wing play.with bendtner upfront, eboue, diaby, clichy, sagna and theo can be useful on counters we have the necessary tools.diaby was rested because wenger feels he will be pivotal vs barca.play without fear and we will shock the world.

  47. rico says:

KTR7, I have no doubt we can and will go there and come home proud, i honestly think barca had their chance at the emirates – pressure is now on them to replicate such a performance but they wont.

they will as you say be pressing us, trying to score many goals, but it will backfire, this time we will be the team out of the blocks…..

we are written off by most, but we will be just fine.. i cant wait, just can’t wait….

  48. Suhail.TV says:

Good Evening , happy easter for all.

  49. Suhail.TV says:

    Hi, happy easter for all..

  50. Suhail.TV says:

    In ‘No Man’s land’ ?!

  51. agirlagunner says:

Rico: Yes, a lady. This has been a roller coaster ride of a season. But for all the downs, the heights have been fantastic, yeah?

TR7 is my MoM. He has a fantastic technique, and I am somewhat less devastated by our Captain’s absence, knowing that we are not short of a little midfield magic. Plus, he can score from a distance too.

I am confident that Eduardo will find his shooting boots soon. Yesterday, he got himself into all sorts of good positions although good finishing evaded him. We were patient with a lot of players who we felt were not cutting the mustard just a season or two ago, and now, look at Abou, at Bendtner, at Song!

Our Fox in the Box is sure to come back.

    Happy Easter everyone!

  52. Suhail.TV says:

Barca 2 2 Arsenal. Barca to be gunned down at shoot out. Wilcommen AGAG.

  53. Erick says:

Happy Easter Suhail AGAG nice view and the second lady in the blog and Rosicky is the best midfielder we have left hope AW can give him a chance

  54. Suhail.TV says:

Hi, Erick.. Hw waz d day. A shocker of a match yesterday, only to give a blast of relief.

  55. Erick says:

True lad true unbelievable stuff Hope tuesday we can do the same the day has been good my friend you

  56. Suhail.TV says:

Any idea how chelsea can lose 4pts atleast

  57. rico says:

Hi Suhail – how was the exam, poss easier than watching the boys…

aglg – good, you and me against the rest then 🙂 🙂

  58. Suhail.TV says:

Happy to C u rico, exam was made good in the end just like the lad’s game.

  59. rico says:

aglg – i worry about Eduardo, its not the first time he has missed sitters, but I think it will happen in time. He justs needs that first goal, and wouldn’t bet on it being a very difficult chance he converts, rather than a sitter. Once he gets that he will settle.

As for Rosicky, always loved him, hated him being injured and the old TR is on his way back, if he stays fit for the rest of this season, next season he will be one of the first on the team sheet I am sure.

  60. Erick says:

The pensioners have Liverpool which i hope they can loose 3 and Spuds who can may be hold them for a draw 4 points we have

  61. rico says:

Suhail, Chavs have to player the dippers and spuds away, two draws, four points lost 🙂

  62. Suhail.TV says:

Remember rosicky braces in WC and those at anfield.

  63. agirlagunner says:

Suhail, a shootout will definitely finish me off! But that won’t be a bad deal if we channel say the spirit of Roma 09, and win. In any case, I’ll come back from six feet under to watch our lads thump the Spuds!

Hello, Erick. I am a big fan of Mozart! He can get feisty too like Nasri. I am eternally optimistic about Dudu. I only need to remind myself of the brace he bagged v. Cardiff in the FA Cup immediately after returning from injury early 09. Now, that is class.

  64. rico says:

i cant take a shoot out either, BUT, if that does happen the one thing Alumina is not so bad at is penalties. shoot out and my money is on us….

what made you finally post today agag??

  65. Suhail.TV says:

“I am always really suspicious that they have a great team great players…” so they should beat chelsea is’t it Mr wenger. Happy to see totenham losing, so a trip to white …t lane is not at a bad time. I love totenham so i want them to revive against chelsea after losing to us.

  66. agirlagunner says:

Rico, you are right about Dudu missing sitters. But I can’t seem to help myself. I am hopelessly hopeful about him. Haha.

Besides, our players are the most contrary creatures; on days we expect them to breeze through the opponent’s pitch, they labor; and on days we think they would falter, they deliver.

    Lads, prove everyone wrong!!!

  67. Erick says:

True AGAG am a big fan of Rosicky and shooting from distance may be what we need in the Barca

  68. rico says:

Suhail, you must be kidding, you love Tottenham???????? OR is that just for the game against the Chavs… 😉

  69. Suhail.TV says:

Only for game against pensioners ha..ha..

  70. rico says:

We are all hopeful about Dudu agag… he’s a good player, he will get his finishing back, well, i hope he does….

  71. agirlagunner says:

What made me post today was the need to find a good reason to put off work. Hah. Plus, I have always liked this blog.

Somehow, I cannot find it in me to post in the blogs of those “Gunners” calling for Wenger’s/Bendtner’s/Denilson’s/Almunia’s head at the slightest setback. Which isn’t to say, I sometimes don’t think thoughts along the same vein, about the last two at least. Hehe.

  72. rico says:

Thats good to hear agag, thanks, we do have a ‘justified’ pop every now and again though 🙂

  73. Suhail.TV says:

Agree with you AGAG, if you checked arsenal mania during early feb almost pessimistic hopeless fans were calling for wengers head and others.

  74. Suhail.TV says:

Rico I meant liver pool should beat chelsea and totenham to hold them.

  75. agirlagunner says:

I’m off, everyone. Thanks for the welcome.

  76. rico says:

Suhail, i know, just jesting 😉

    Come back soon agag 🙂

  77. Suhail.TV says:

    Bye, laters

  78. Suhail.TV says:

    Got work tomorrow rico

  79. rico says:

See you soon Suhail, have a good day 🙂

  80. Suhail.TV says:

    See you

  81. charybdis1966 says:

Hi Rico – I have to come on whenever your favourite player does well. I always think of you when that happens, once I finished screaming myself hoarse and abusing turning to the Wolves fans yesterday I thought of myself “Rico must be proud!”

  82. charybdis1966 says:

    Meant “thought TO myself”

  83. rico says:

Hi chary, same goes for me, i always think of you as you know, when he does good or bad – he has got better and better, bit like Eboue 😉

I am actually starting to have a bit of faith in the Dane… 🙂

He saved us from embarassment yesterday…

I feel for Eduardo, he has it all and just needs a goal…

  84. charybdis1966 says:

The shame of it Rico, is that Nick’s development should have not been done as the first choice striker – we’ve had to rely on him in high pressure games when he shouldn’t have been put in that position.
And a confession – I had my doubts about him a year or so ago but just didn’t have the decisiveness to say one way or the other if I rated him.

  85. rico says:

Agree there chary, he has been under so much pressure to deliver, but to be fair, he has latterly, and credit to him…

He needs a true goal score alongside him, if only dudu could be that man right now…

ah, a sneaky confession slipped in 😉 😉

  86. charybdis1966 says:

That’s the spirit Rico- as gooners we’re all in this together.
    Catch you later

  87. rico says:

    take care chary ….

  88. rico says:

Im off peeps, be a late one so a late morning post possibly looms…..

  89. rico says:

    Night night and stay safe

  90. Erick says:

    Gdnite Rico

  91. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Hail! Hail! Little Nicky 😈 He has certainly come on in Leaps & Headers this season.

  92. rico says:

    He sure has George

  93. agirlagunner says:

Hello, everyone. Just found out about Song. How depressing is that? But we’ve only got one Song!
