Wenger gets it wrong as Brum do it again..

Before the start of the game I was confident we’d take the points from this one. Confidence within the team was high on the back of 6 wins on the spin and Birmingham had lost their last two.. Although Brum have played some good stuff this season they have lost their way in recent weeks and if we ever had a better chance to beat them on their own patch it was now..

This was not to be the case..We’ve all pretty much said in the build up to this one that it was a potential banana skin for us. Even with a massive match against Barca looming in the CL we had to stay focused and concentrate on the PL…One game at a time was the key but judging by Wenger’s line up you could tell he was looking too far forward.. Brum are a difficult side and we are in a situation where we need to win pretty much every match. As soon as I saw the line up I thought to myself this is risky and that confidence I had was a little dented..

To be honest I was shocked..The team was already down 3 key players due to suspension and injury.. The loss of Gallas, Tommmy V and RVP was already a big burden to bear, but to leave Nasri and Arshavin on the bench was suicidal. We are in a title run in. We were playing away from home against a decent side and we were 5 key players short.. Wenger’s line up was like he’d picked a side for the Emirates. Walcott and Denilson don’t fill me with confidence anyway.

Then I found out who the ref was and then I see the state of the pitch and I didn’t really want to say it at the time but for some reason I knew we were dropping points..

The first half was a scrappy affair. The pitch obviously wasn’t helping and neither were the scandalous decisions of Mr.Manchester UTD himself. We failed to take a hold of the midfield which wasn’t a surprise with Song pushed back to CB and Brum controlled the possession and it dwindled out into a nothing half.

The second half wasn’t much better and we didn’t manage to take a hold of the game until Wenger made his substitutions and threw the players on he should have started with..

I thought we’d broke the deadlock when Diaby made a perfectly legal shoulder barge and won the ball in the Brum box..Webb procceeded to let him smash it into the net before blowing his whistle..You diptsick.

Even Perry groves said on Sky Sports last night that Webb has made some ridiculous decisions recently and its little decisions like that which determine who’s going to be champions..

Nasri then showed us what we had been missing as he picked up the ball 35 yards out and ran towards goal. He made it to the edge of the box and blasted it past the helplesS Hart.. Get in.. It took a long while coming but it had and all we needed to do was hold on but then the unbelievable happened..

Nasri had the chance to make it 2-0 as he ran in one on one with Hart but he fluffed his lines, in the space of 30 seconds Brum went up the other end of the pitch and scored an equalizer from nothing with practically the last kick of the match..We’d done it to ourselves again. Phillips hit a nothing shot and Almunia made his customary mother of all cock ups and the ball slipped throw his fingers and he practically threw the ball into his own net..

Bollox..Points dropped at the wrong time and a result that feels like a defeat in such the manner the Brum goal was conceeded..Momentum has taken a set back and the Barca game will be even harder now.

ALMUNIA..5..Can you believe this guy? Why doesn’t it ever surprise me. He’s capable of pulling off some great saves but his clangers are too much to bear..He loses us more points then he wins us and surely its time to replace him next year.. Manutd were under the cosh against Bolton for long periods of the first half yesterday and VDS pulled off two world class saves..Manure went on to win the game..A top goalie is required and Almunia is nothing better than a decent number 2..

CLICHY, SAGNA, BIG SOL, SONG..8…I’m going to give them a joint score because i thought they were immence..Solid and strong and it would have been 1-0 to the Arsenal if it wasn’t for Captain Clanger between the sticks..

Denilson..5..This game wasnt for him..without the help of Song he struggles by himself and yesterday was no different..Failed to protect his defence and failed to take control of the middle as Song does so well

Cesc..6..poor by his own standards

Diaby..6..not a good game, but not a bad one..his goal should have stood

Rosicky..6..quiet, but he needs to play in midfield not up front

Theo..5..i’m not even going to get started on Theo. was he even playing??

Nikki..6..quiet really..but not getting enough service doesn’t help

Nasri..7..almost won us the game..good goal

AA..5..not going through one of his best months but he’s still dangerous..needs to start every game really..

Wenger..6..got his lineup wrong..had one eye on Barca and it showed and it backfired..We need to play our strongest 11 every game Arsene…

It was a very disappointing result..once again it showed that we have passengers in this side who are not good enough to be counted on week in week out..We are sitting in third, which isn’t a bad thing but if we had those couple of extra players we needed in key positions we could be flying high at the top of the league and had it wrapped up by now.

The biggest disappointment for me is that it is now out of our hands..We are playing catch up..I always believed that the others would drop points too at some stage so we could afford a draw somewhere..Well there it is.

we now need to win every game.. the fixtures are still in our favour but its roll up our sleeves time and fight to the end..We’ve had a good season no matter what happens, but we need some silverware this year.  5 years is too long..

we thought we had a baby last night rico.. 😉
but it was a false alarm..post was left saved in word and i was out the majority of the night..

  2. j says:

    Diaby 6??????

    He was immense!

  3. K-TR7 says:

Morning.Jj-diaby is worth more than cesc.he drove forward, defended well and you give him a 6?did you watch the game?when rosicky was on he was our only player who drove forward.id rather he started in place of AA vs barca.AA has been terrible!did you see his scuffed shot?TR7 or any top player for that matter would’ve buried that.nasri was brilliant though he should’ve sealed the game for us late on.nasri has really improved,he has been one of our best players this month along with diaby.

  4. rico says:

    Morning JJ and KTR7

JJ, what a night you had, if that happens again forget a post, life is more important… 🙂

  5. rico says:

I haven’t watched all the game, didnt see MOTD and I was so down hearted last night I forgot to record footie first….

I did however see the legal goal scored by Diaby and the dreadful display of goalkeeping by Almunia..

I admire you JJ for managing to put a great piece together for the post…

  6. fegusoni says:

Why does wenger persists with almunia? this clown doesnt isnt even in spain’s squad, that tells you how much wenger knows about choosing a keeper…or is arsenal a 2nd rated club? And why have denilson as defensive midfield – such a light weight and shortie? Is arsene wenger really a top class manager? Get hiddinks.

  7. rico says:

On a day after another shocking Almunia display, this is what I read…..

Wojciech Szczesny kept a clean sheet for Brentford, who beat Leyton Orient 1-0 thanks to a Lewis Grabban strike. Szczesny made several superb stops, denying Adam Chambers as he hared down on goal and also pushing Sean Thornton’s effort wide in injury time to preserve the win

  8. JonJon says:

guys the midfeild was over run by brum

diaby hd flashes of brilliance but he was out of position most of the match…but like i said he didt have a bad game..

  9. fegusoni says:

Maybe we should all continue to have the belief, faith, blah blah blah that wenger is spouting.

  10. bugsy malone says:

did you forget to mention arshavin’s howler? he fluffed a simple tap in set up by bendty and den gave a thumbs up. he’s been missing chances dan he scores them and he plays as if he doesn’t care. he’s our achilles heel dis season cos most people see him as our savior but he’s da villain

  11. JonJon says:

ktr7 i seen torres scuff two shots identical to that last week v mancs

in AA favor the pitch was shit but his finsihing has been bad recently

  12. really says:

Wenger got it wrong, really? He made the necessary changes which got us the goal. The difference between 3 points and 2 lies with 2 players, Arshavin for not going towards the corner flag and trying to hold it there, and not hitting the target + crucially the clown prince known as Almunia.

Denilson was ineffective and should take more responsibility when Song is not in the middle of the park.

  13. JonJon says:

rico it was scary..i was out most of the night and had pretty much no sleep..oh well we’ve had our drill i know wats coming next time.. 😉

i had a rough draft in word but had to abondon it early moring at about 1 ish and sort it out this morning..hence the slight delay..

  14. JonJon says:

it wasnt a tap in bugsy..

bendy missed an easier chance, so did nasri so did theo

this is wat pisses me off about certain sections of the fans…

we go through years of shit displays from the likes of almunia eboue and denilson, theo and even nikki and diaby yet ppl stand by them

yet AA can have a bad few months and hes the villian..

grow some balls..the mans awesome hes just having a bad patch..

dont forget cesc was pretty much none existant last year too

  15. rico says:

JJ – you poor old things 😦

Welcome those who have joined us this morning…

  16. Dave tells it how it is says:

It’s time for Wenger to go.

He took us closer this season sure enough.

But yet again he messed up selection at a key point in the season and personally cost us the title.

Plus he is responsible for the goalkeeping crisis. We all knew a real ‘keeper was needed long ago.

He is not a manager who can deliver the goods. Which I heard was also who Monaco sacked him.

    We should not delay.

  17. rico says:

Did anyone watch Sunday Supplement on Sky this morning??

I think AA is average right now too, but you are spot on JJ, how many of our players have been that way for several seasons now??

AA is in his second season, has not been 100% fit either..

  18. JonJon says:

rico i think that lad might get into the team quicker than we think…

i cant see wenger keeping almunia but i cant see him signing a top one either

chesney could be the option but its a big risk to take..

  19. rico says:

    Welcome really and dave…..

I am not for AW out, Almunai is to blame for yesterday, that attempt at the save could have been saved by me, let alone a EPL keeper – and i’m a girl!!! 😉 😉

  20. K-TR7 says:

Barca last night struggled too.mallorca hit the woodwork twice.messi, xavi and henry started on the bench.iniesta was poor hence was subbed, alves’ crossing was atrocious as it was vs osasuna.ibra showed improvement and now has 3goals in 3 games.alves and maxwell were caught out several times in defence with valdez bailing them out.milito and puyol were steady but had a few hairy moments with quick forwards and long balls.messi was denied any space when he had the ball hence he was ineffective.it looks like guardiola will stick with the 4-2-1-1-1-1 for our game.mallorca players hussled for every ball and with the crowd roaring barca struggled abit.

  21. JonJon says:

wenger doesnt need to go…no other manager in the world could have done wat he has done..wenger needs to stay

this season isnt even over yet but if we end up potless again it will be time to abandon project youth in some areas and spent some money instead

the roumors are we will be debt free in 18months so we are raking it in..we need to spend some of it

  22. rico says:

JJ, I think I would rather take that risk with Chesney, but ideally sell Al and Fab and get one bloody good keeper and have chesney as no2 (cup keeper)

  23. JonJon says:

AA had personell problems too rico

his wife hasnt settled properly russia got knocked out of world cup qualifiers and AA and other topplayers were given death threats by russia public

hes carried injury most of the year too

i can see him leaving in summer but if he stays expect a big season from him next year

he might even win us the CL u never know..hes that good..he just looks unhappy

  24. JonJon says:

thts the way i see the gk problem rico..

  25. JonJon says:

we have a good chance against barca,ktr7

there defence is just as dodgy as ours and puyol looks past it

  26. JonJon says:

dave monaco sacked him because he sold all their experienced players who were on massive wages and broght through youngsters…

he tried to do to monaco what hes done to us but they didnt give him time

    bet their kicking themselves now

  27. Dave tells it how it is says:

It is no coincidence that Wenger stopped winning things when the spine of George Graham’s team retired. He won all his trophies in his first seven years.

Wenger himself has been unable to find a winning formula during the next six years.

People underestimate what Graham did for the club.

The sad thing is that we are only two or three players away from it, so we probably need to replace him now with the manager who can take that final step up and actually deliver.

  28. rico says:

The three newspaper reporters this morning on that fottie programme are all very pro AW and Arsenal – one in particular after the AW rant said – a few seasons ago RvP got punched in the face against b’burn..

RvP refused to shake hands and that is all the press chose to report, they said, what should have been reported is Why a player gets punched….

They all feel we are targetted too

  29. JonJon says:

GG was a fantastic manager and i grew up with that era of team

rocky merse parlour wrighty adams are all my favorite players

wenger took over a fantastic side but we needed change cos we’d gone stale under GG

nobody underestimates the work GG did but wenger has revolutionised us..

yes we are a few players short but what other team could stay self suficient like we have and still challenge for the title

the mancs have a squad of 30 million players and chavs have spent nearly a billion…and we are 4 points behind

  30. K-TR7 says:

I have stood by AA throughout the season.his wife may not have settled or for whatever reason but the shift he puts in is almost painful to watch.whatever excuses we may speculate were they the reasons he misses simple tap ins?are they why he doesn’t look interested and lazy?he complains of how we need better players but what does he do when AW gives him chance after chance?its painful to say since with his talent the world is at his feet,he should be running riot in england and abroad.i love the guy but he really disappoints.he may as well turn over barca on wednesday and maybe guide us to our first cl but who knows if he will show up?

  31. JonJon says:

it seems AA has become the new Adebayor..
i dont think he’ll be here next season anyway

  32. rico says:

Nor do I JJ, i read a story earlier from a guy who was ‘supposedley’ at Theo’s bash, it was leaked that a player will leave which will be very sad news…

Cesc has today said he is going nowhere so it can only be Gallas or AA…

  33. rico says:

The trouble with AA is that everyone hyped him up so far, he hasn’t lived up to expectations… not yet anyway..

  34. Erick says:

Mornin all, Why are we comparing AA with the youth player we bought him as a finished product and one of the highest paid. Diaby was phenomenal he controlled the mf single handly its time to make the 4 changes we were talking about in every department but lets see the season through and talk reinforcement Al should have done better with ball period

  35. JonJon says:

he lived upto them last year though rico

when we signed him we were drawing every game sometimes not even scoring..villa were 6 points clear and we had cesc and rvp out long term

AA came in and in his first 10 games he hit something like 8 goals and 8 assists and we rocketed up the table gained momentum put the presure on villa and they crumbled..

that man got us out of the shit

at the start of the season AA cesc and rvo were on fire. we were scoring loads…

his form has dipped since russia failed to qualify and he looks tired but hes a top player..hes proved that

  36. Big Guns says:

Im still in shock….20 000 Brummie fans screaming in ecstasy in my ear…

  37. JonJon says:

    hi erick

diaby was good but we didnt control the midfield at all..

until nasri and arsh came on we’d only had 2 shots on target and 48% possession..

  38. JonJon says:

    the goal was offside anyway..

webb might as well give the mancs the title..

if we dont win it we’ll finish 2nd..we’ll catch one of them

  39. Big Guns says:

    I’ll be back lata, Rico.

  40. JonJon says:

i think we’ll see the changes in summer erick..especially if we end up potless

almunia denilson and theo aint good enough

  41. Erick says:

JJ I beg to differ knowing Diaby as an offensive player he did alot given Denilson was MIA even before the subs he was turning it up apart from the first half which he was average BigGuns so sorry you had to go through that 😦

  42. Erick says:

JJ a busy night for you but still posted the piece nice so your always on high alert 😉 😉 best of luck

  43. JonJon says:

id agree that diaby was our best midfielder yesterday…hes offensively strong but defensively weak..

denilson was lost without song..he cant play with out him..diaby needed to fill that void but he did his own thing…i think diaby is the most skillfill player in the squad but you only see the best of him going forward..when it comes to the defensive side hes pretty useless…always caught out of position and tries to dribble his way out of trouble all the time..

even cesc struggled..but thats prob cos he got kicked to shit

  44. JonJon says:

lol cheers erick yeah it was abit hectic…

i blame that on the diaby score..but im stubborn so im sticking to my guns.. 😉

  45. rico says:

Song in defence proved just how good he is in midfield, in the midfield alongside Cesc, Cesc is comfortable and plays with freedom, with Denilson in there its shite…

Lokk at when Cecs is off form, who plays alongside him??

BG – i was happy for you yesterday, right up until Almunia made one of his worst blunders!

    Morning Erick

  46. JonJon says:

here guys i know we dont look at stats but according to the castrol rankings for the season AA is 13 best player in the world

    hes 4th in the pl

  47. JonJon says:

almunia is 13 in pl for gk

lloris is the best keeper in the world with joe hart in 4t.. 2nd in pl

  48. JonJon says:

    here guys its really interesting..

im going to look for denilson 😉

  49. 142 apparently he better than sjneder lol

    good post mate

nice to see you changed your mind about diaby

    fergie’s rent boy

but you are a hard task master

  50. is a bit rich that you didn’t give clichy any time a in jan and feb but give aa all the time in the world but……

  51. JonJon says:

cheers mate..it was hard to be honest..we should have won..

yeh diaby was ok i suppose i rated him unfairly…its just cos i thought the whole midfield was shit..i should have give him a 7..and if that goal would have been allowed an 8 😉

    im looking for future transfers..

so far ive found a gk..lloris

    and a midfielder..kroos

diabys one of the best mids in the world according to this

  52. Erick says:

Morning Rico Song was again awesome should he partner TV in defense for Barca??? AA has been poor of late hope the Barca test can wake him up JJ stay strong my man life will throw everything at you 🙂

  53. JonJon says:

i knew that was coming rsd.. 😉

i still think AA offers more than most players in the side do even at 50%..its just everyone expects miracles everygame

like ive already said i thought cesc was pretty garbage last year..and not even by his own standards either..he was just poor..

it happens to players from time to time

thing with clichy is that weve got two players ready to take over who would do the same job as an poor form clichy…whos gonna take over from AA??? THEO??? vela?? dudu??? eboue??

he still more dangeros eben wen hes shit

  54. Erick says:

RSD how are you Lad 🙂

  55. rico says:

Erick, Song is awesome these days wherever he plays, but what I am saying is the midfield goes to pieces with him in the defence, we missed TV big time, thank F he is back now…

Chavs and Mancs draw next weekend i hope otherwise i think the fat lady is getting ready to sing…. 😦

  56. Reminder to Wenger says:

Didn’t Wenger say at the start of the season that if we did not win anything this season he would admit that his plan had failed and he would step aside? I assume he has enough honour to see this through.

  57. Erick says:

Rico Chelsea and the Manc will be going for it expect no draws but if the Mancs win it will be tough to wim the EPL but a draw will do 😦 cant see it though

  58. JonJon says:

    a draw or a chelsea win rico…

chelsea still have to go to pool and the potatoes so they’ll drop more than the mancs..

they only other points i see the mancs dropping is away to citeh..

so if we win all our remaining games and the mancs lose or draw to chelsea and citeh..the chavs lose or draw with pool and the pomme de terres and jobs a good un..

i was hoping our draw ive been banging on about would come at spuds or citeh but we gotta win them now..pressures really on

  59. did any one see one of jamie blogs about the entertainer saying he heard that someone was leaving in the summer and everyone was done about it.

  60. JonJon says:

we wont finish the season in 3rd anyway put it that way

and if we finish 2nd its been a good season

  61. K-TR7 says:

AA will tear barca a new one on wednesday when the whole world is watching only to slump vs wolves, just wait and see.the man is a one man army,in football only cr9&messi are probably more talented.he really needs to show up.the reason we are disappointed with him is his lack of effort;if he tried and it went wrong then fine but not putting in a shift then moaning afterwards is unacceptable.i think us conceding late will ensure we stay tight vs barca to avoid it happening again.a midfield of song, diaby and fab would’ve tore brum a new one.chin up,it aint over till its over!

  62. rico says:

Does that mean i have to cheer the dippers for another game – 😦 😦

its still winnerable Erick, i hope chavs and mancs lose all their games now, that would be sweet 😉

  63. JonJon says:

    i seen that rsd

    i think its AA

    reminder to wenger….

i think wenger said ath the AGM to judge him at the end of the season..he pretty much says that at the end of everyseason..nothing about him stepping aside,..

we dont really need him to we just need a couple of players here and there to stop it making it so hard on ourselves…gk is priority and has been a while now

  64. should make a penny or two on that
    if it is aa
shame we wont buy any one decent tho

  65. K-TR7 says:

I have to say the mancs only need to draw the chavs and win all their remaining games.if they win, theres not stopping them i fear.wilshere by the way looked very good.VDS made two world class saves that kept the mancs in the game otherwise the outcome would’ve been different.the brum game is past, lets avoid blame games.all the fans who will be at the emirates vs barca should make a hostile environment and im sure if the likes of AA turn up we may win.

  66. JonJon says:

bloody hell that chamkaka bloke aint even the top forawrd in france according to thise silly index

and that remi is something like 450th best striker in the world

theyve even got AA best midfieler in pl with cesc in 5th behind diaby..now i know its bullshit

ive never seen this before..the next person who tells me denilson is good according to these stats is going to get laughed at harder than i did before

songs not even in the top 20 but lawrence of stoke hundredstone and dempsey are..

  67. rico says:

i have to go paint the porch, back in a while…

  68. utd

  69. JonJon says:

hopefully he’ll tear barca an new one and they’ll give us a fortune for him..

  70. they go on the last 12 month and looks the scoring system looks pap
hypia is 2nd best defender in the world
    enough said

  71. cant pick it gona go down to the wire we just keep believing i have a feeling bayern might scare utd but there defense is ageing
we need to start supporting them down the road which is annoying

  72. JonJon says:

    exactley..pique first..????

    drgba n torres above rooney..??

    horsey bum dribble

whats that other one they all look at???

is it opta…im takin a butchers at that too

  73. Erick says:

Robben a doubt for the Mancs game why not Messi 😦 the world is against us people

  74. JonJon says:

we just need to do wat chelsea done and pick ourselves up and smash wolves and wigan and we right back in it again..

i think xavis out for barca erick

saying that cesc could be out too

  75. think opta you have to pay for

  76. is he really that will ruin my preview shit lol

  77. oh no its ok him and pique made there come back last night

  78. JonJon says:

    yeah opta looks abit dodgy..

think we stand a chance rsd???

  79. K-TR7 says:

JJ-Xavi has returned from injury,he came on as a sub yesterday.pique and abidal are their only doubts.

  80. K-TR7 says:

JJ-Xavi has returned from injury,he came on as a sub yesterday.pique and abidal are their only doubts.let the barca frenzy begin…

  81. JonJon says:

so there already shit defence will be even shitter

    game on

  82. Erick says:

Iniesta game off in the 50th minute with a muscle problem Xavi did 90??

  83. JonJon says:

    ah so its iniesta??

    even better

  84. Erick says:

  85. if we can get xavi and iniesta out the game. we can stop
the attacks and build our own.

they look pretty ordinary last night and on wed, but then the have been resting for us.

  86. i hope we can take something to nou camp cos dont want to have spent all the money to watch a dead rubber

  87. K-TR7 says:

Iniesta was taken off for messi.xavi came on as a sub midway through the 2nd half…

  88. JonJon says:

i was just thinking that rsd

without iniesta that just leaves xavi..get song to man mark that mofo and stop messi by stopping the supply..

then let cesc nasri and diaby do their thing…and hope AA and niki have blinders.barcas defence is crap..we should take the game to them..

  89. AW says no man marking we never do

  90. JonJon says:

i think weve got a better chance at the nou camp…

we wont want to conceed away goal so a can see us playing with shackles…

at the noucamp we’ll go for that goal and barca will do the same so it will be a free for all

    playground kickabout 22 all

  91. JonJon says:

do u honestly beleive a word wenger says??? its all reverse double-triple reverse psychology with him i dont listen anymore or i end up needing counselling

  92. i hope so 0-0 at grove the 3-5 at camp nou

  93. have you ever seen us man mark

  94. Erick says:

If we can avoid conceding the away goal I feel we can get past them but it wont be easy we have to chase the ball vigorously if they keep the ball they may hurt us

  95. JonJon says:

    perfect example

before the brum game he said that 2 years ago it wasnt the draw at st andrews that stopped us winning the title…we had other problems such as player contracts…

but last week he said player contracts are on hold until end of season…

even though a month ago he said we had been in talks with gallas for ages…

lol my heads in bits already.. 😉

  96. if we turn up and focus will get past them

  97. we will defo signa striker nov

bendy will be like a new signing

did you read highbury harry by the way was it in wath’s email

  98. Erick says:

No Man marking if it fails it disastrous i would go for a draw in the home game no goals jst like RSD

  99. K-TR7 says:

I think AW will use the 06 tactics book again.messi cuts in from the right, clichy has to force him to go inside where song will be stationed infront of the defence.the best way to stop xavi and iniesta is to minimize their outlets;peg back alves and maxwell, crowd out messi and with sagna/eboue marking henry/pedro it is possible.we should play at a high tempo from the start,it will rattle them.remember they will be motivated to win it since the final will be at the home of their greatest rivals,we just have to want it more.

  100. JonJon says:

you never know with wenger rsd

last year against the chavs he played rvp on the left wing to help stop the threat of the chelsea fullback..
wen has rvp ever done shuttle runs up and down the wing helping fb’s???
he said we needed strength in midfield but he dropped song..

his tactics are wierd at times we might see campbell playing in midfield to deal with yaya 😉

or eboue in goal such is his versitility 😉

  101. JonJon says:

    yeah i read it rsd..

  102. JonJon says:

i think thats the key ktr7..desire

we have the players to match them and beat them on our day..

we need to want to…and we need that little bit of luck in front of goal..

no more taking 30shots to score one..if we get a chance it needs to go in…cos barca wont need that many chnces against us..not with manny in goal anyway…

  103. tactic’s are only 10% of the game the rest is about performance

  104. first rule of ………

  105. you know it wouldn’t suprise me if aw did play sol there i think sol could play well as sweeper
who was the guy clough brought for derby and was well past it but played like every game when they won the title. fuck its on the tip of me tongue

  106. Charlie says:

Cheer up; we still proof all the pundits and anti Arsenal critics wrong from Day One. This team has matured. Small mistakes here and there can be overcome. Anyway, ARE WE REALLY OUT OF IT??????
    I think not.!!!!!!!!!
    WHY, You ASK?
Any teams you know of in the EPL that went thitteen, 13, games without dropping a point??
The team now has to get UP and another run of six WINS and we may just win the TITLE. It is that close

  107. Erick says:

If I were AW I would play Silvester instead of Sol and relieve Song of all offensive duties and let Diaby do both offensive and defensive work what you think??

  108. erick tv is back for barca

  109. Erick says:

RSD Mourinho would disagree with you 😉 He is a master tactian 50% i guess 🙂

  110. Erick says:

Yap RSD TV and Silvester and Song playing more like the 3rd CH not going forward too much

  111. you can have all the tactic’s in the world
but if your players arnt performing you might as well shove that chalk board up your arse.
moanrino has good tactic but he also knows how man manage. he learnt that from bobby.

  112. Erick says:

True RSD what would be your line up for the Barca? I like what Jose did with Drogba he was not known but the made him to a top top striker I cant see Nikky getting there no glipses at all pure tap in’s and headers no night mares for defenders

  113. Erick says:

My line up wld be Almunia,Sagna,Tv, Silvester,Clichy,Song, Cesc,Diaby,Nikky,Nasir and AA

  114. line up easy our first team
    sanga billy/sol tv clichy
    diaby cesc
    rosicky bendy aa

  115. Erick says:

    Intresting Mozart mmmmh

  116. okay maybe it aint so easy i guess nasri will play as rosixty played 65 yesterday

  117. iniesta out http://bit.ly/aNdoqo
    hammy could mean both ties
    thats nice

  118. JonJon says:

i like diaby..but not wen hes given a specific role to play..

it seems he a free spirit who does pretty much his own thing..whereas wen hes asked to play a disciplined role he cant do it and we get inconsistent performances

dont forget wenger only recently said hes nothing like vieira, cos vieira was box to box…and he was right..

diaby is only happy going forward..hes a liability otherwise..

  119. JonJon says:

i agree with the tactics and performance…

but thats what makes jose so good…

performance is all about confidence…jose gets them all thinking they gods and they follow the tactics to a t.

agree with the line up too…

although its a toss up between rosick and nasri and diaby

id be tempted to go for the midgets v barca but diaby has that power…its difficult

  120. Davi says:

Leaving nasri and arshavin out wasnt really the issue.
Both have been a bit quiet recently.
Eboue was the big miss. This game was exactly the sort of game we really needed him.
We should have won regardless, but leaving manu out for the entire match wasnt smart.
Diaby was amazing by the way. Dominated other players and his goal was wrongly disallowed imo.

  121. Erick says:

RSD one down 2 left Messi and xavi if we can stop this two wet will be ok JJ true Diaby is an attacking machine defensively he is below average but probably this is the game suited for Denilson

  122. JonJon says:

without iniesta xavi will be lost..we’ll run the midfield..

  123. JonJon says:

    no not denilson… 😉

    why would you say that???

    cesc song diaby/nasri

    we dont need denilson

  124. JonJon says:

yeah davi i was a tad harsh on diaby weve all established that..

and i agree..id have rather seen eboue than theo…

but watever way we approach it wenger got it wrong tactically

  125. Erick says:

Davi I also had that feeling we were missing something and now that you have mentioned him may be he should have started ahead of Walcot

  126. Erick says:

JJ being a not so physical game may be we need him to kill off the triangles

  127. JonJon says:

the thing with eboue is performance wise you never know what your gonna get…but hes always in the action…he gets stuck in…

hes sort of our version of ji sung park…sort off

wenger once said he was our new ray parlour and i laughed hard..

but to be honest i see it this season…in patches

but its about time..we had to suffer three years of crap from him first…

in fact id play him against barca…attack the fuckers keep them pegged back

  128. Davi says:

I wasnt surprised to see theo start, and its easy to criticise his inclusion with hindsight, so I wouldnt slate wenger for that personally.
I would have had eboue in somewhere tho, whether it be on the wing or at RB. Even if he’d brought eboue on for the last half hour in place of theo OR sagna, it might have made the difference.

  129. Davi says:

No, jonjon, this season you know exactly what you’re gonna get from eboue. Especially against teams like birmingham who play well as a collective but dont have special players.
He gets to the byline with real ease. He doesnt always deliver the perfect ball but he does always trouble fullbacks. Definitely should have played some part yday.

  130. JonJon says:

he offers nothing going forawrd though erick..apart from the odd long shot..and against the big teams hes caught out..

i dont see why we should go with both denilson and song…song can do it on his own whereas denilson always needs song..playing them both just takes a player out of the attack

go with just song let him do wat he does best and let the rest create our own trianles..

  131. JonJon says:

    not really davi

he still has good games and bad games…

you said it yourself he gets to the byline and doesnt always deliver..you dont know what to expect..its either a pin point cross or its in row z or he falls over…

but you cant fault him for energy..hes very direct and the team did miss that yesterday…he should have played i agree..

  132. JonJon says:

id have played him for theo..but like you say its all hindsight..

wenger probably using him as secret weapon v barca so he rested him…

  133. Erick says:

JJ he aint may fav player but just may be… Davi true if he aint running at the defense he is making room for other player and his give and go is spot on kind of like Dudu’s

  134. JonJon says:

    yeah its a wengerism rsd…of cockney/french decent..

  135. JonJon says:

its been fun guys cheers for the good debate i gotta go get some kip

be good yall no fighting… 😉

  136. Davi says:

JJ – ok, well you know your going to get a performance where he constantly beats the defence, but inconsistency on the final ball. But overall hes played well in all but a couple of games this year imo. And the less impressive ones were a long time ago now.
imo its inconsistency on the final ball, but consistency of performance. Is this just semantics now?

  137. sounds like home made porn tri-anal’s!

eboue over sanga or just on the right cant see it but it is aw

  138. Davi says:

    Nm, later Jon

  139. see you jj tell her next time if she’s gona keep you up all night she better damn well have the baby

  140. Erick says:

  149. rico says:

    New Post

  150. Bluenose says:

Of course diaby’s goal shouldn’t have stood, bowyer had the ball and was pushed in the back, diaby didn’t touch the ball in the tackle so it was a foul.
