What has happened to our Arsenal??

Got about half an hour to spare during a busy day so I thought I would pop a quick post up..

What has happened then in our club?

Early on in the season we lost our main striker, Robin van Persie.

Within days of him being missng players were coming out with things like ‘ We want to continue winning for Robin’

Nik, Walcott and Cesc get injured and the other players say things like ‘We want to keep winning and be strong for our captain and the injured boys’

Aarron Ramsey suffers a horrorfic injury and the rest of the team wear pre match t-shirts sending out their message to Rambo to get well. Players made it clear when interviewed that they want to win the Premier League for him.

Thomas Vermaelen gets a stupid red card at the weekend and today Eboue says ‘We wanted win for gutted Vermaelen’

The comments I mention are a few of many, but something has happened at the club, something seems to have changed within the squad.

My answer to my own question is, This squad no longer has players who think they are bigger and better than any of the others. Nor do they think they are bigger than the club. The squad have become a united group who all want the same thing. They want to win, not only for themselves, but they want to win for all of their team mates regardless of whether they are playing or not.

Now that to me says we have finally matured, that makes me think that this group of men will now fight as hard as they can regardless of what goes on around them..

Arsene calls it ‘Great Spirit and Determination’ Finally, he may just be right….

  2. K-TR7 says:

    Hi rico

  3. W.A.T.H says:

We got rid of disruptive self centred egotistical wankers is the answer Rico….

  4. rico says:

mme, I’m not sure it is then πŸ˜‰

  5. rico says:

    Hi KTR7 and WATH

Nice answer wath, couldn’t disagree one bit…

  6. Dom says:

spot on there mate. no need to mention who you are aluding to!

  7. rico says:

Hi Dom, good to see you here…

We all knew he was disruptive, but i don’t think we knew just how much – he will soon leave citeh no doubt too…

  8. W.A.T.H says:

Makes you wonder what Kolo was like behind the scenes doesnt it…!?!?!? never had any question to think he was disruptive BUT………….. As 4 the other muppet we know full well what a piece of shit he is….!

  9. Mark C says:

    You have got a point.

    We have lost the ego.

    Be it, Adebayor, or Henry.

We do have super stars – such as Fabregas, Van Persie and Arshavin, but they are team players first and humble men.

So Arsne, when you are out shopping this Summer you need to make sure you sign similar types of players – but dont fool yourself into think the current squad is good enough to do this next season as well.

We need three or four new players, and a real clear out of players that wont make it – probably near a dozen there.

  10. rico says:

WATH, i put that in a post a while back about Kolo and it upset a few, but like you i think there was a lot more to his spat with Gallas than we all know.

Gallas has shown what a pro he is this season, so it shows he wasn’t unhappy at the club, just with Toure..

Maybe that is why they both wnet off to citeh together…

  11. rico says:

Mark, it shows you can be a superstar without having to be on an ego trip at the same time..

look at AA, he says a lot, but he doesn’t slate those around him i dont think, just tells the boss to by a few players πŸ˜‰

    So do we all…

  12. rico says:

thanks rsd, your just being nice πŸ˜‰

  13. Erick says:

Team spirit can take you far and its time for all the guys to unite for the fight of their lives Spot on Rico

  14. Mark C says:

Rico – I thiink AA is just honest.

I am sure in training he will be critical of players but will do it in a way that wont annoy the others.

Technically he is better than all of the other players, so they cant always understand what he wants (expects) them to do.

Also, now we have three proper world class players, we dont just rely on one player to get us out of a mess.

If Fabregas is not doing, it then Arshavin will be, and if not Nasri, or Rosicky or Diaby will be creative for us.

  15. rico says:

Thanks Erick and i think it will, for many seasons ahead too i hope –

sorry guys, got to dash again 😦 be back later..

  16. rico says:

And frustrated i think Mark when he first arrived, with his new surroundings and getting used to the PL – Maybe he could see how close we were?

Diaby has grown, Theo is just starting to pick up his game a bit, Rosicky is not far off being back at his best and even Eboue puts in a decent shift…

Maybe some of us couldn’t see what AW could, I know I couldn’t but like Erick said in his post yesterday, we are 2/3 players (not huge ego’s) away from winning many things…

  17. estonian gooner says:

im not sure about kolo but ade definetly was distruptive. this team has been thru a lot(edu leg, ramsay leg, lots of negative in the papers etc, no one is/was believing in us). but look at US!!! we are still going in two fronts!!! we have a possibility to win the greatest prizes in club football – prem and CL! come on arsenal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. no im dead serious this has to be one of your best. love it short and powerful.

  19. sky reporting gallas back for barca….

  23. rico says:

    Thanks rsd πŸ™‚

Bastards, I can’t believe they kept him banned, just for one game rsd??

  24. cant blame them it the ref who made mistake
and they have to back him
bet he wont work in prem next weekend

  25. rico says:

Vermaelen red card appeal is dismissed

The Football Association has just released the following statement:

“At a Regulatory Commission hearing today, a claim for wrongful dismissal from Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen was dismissed.

“Vermaelen was shown a red card for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity during Arsenal’s match against West Ham United on Saturday 20 March.

“He will now serve a one match suspension with immediate effect.”

  26. rico says:

i dont blame the ref rsd, it was the prat running the line..

  27. both ref is was 40 yards away thats his fault should get some exercise fat b……….

  28. rico says:

πŸ˜† they were both miles away, guess work more than seen i think – at least its only one match and against an out of form B’ham..

  29. K-TR7 says:

Tv needs a rest along with sol.tv is on a yellow in the cl and we don’t want fatigue to cause him to pick a yellow forcing him to miss to nou camp trip.it would be good to have gallas back and depending on circumstances i have a suspicion AW may take rvp in the squad to face barca in spain…

  30. rico says:

Gallas is back for Barca KTR7, i reckon Silly and Song at the back on Saturday…

  31. just on the off chance any one got a silver extra for barca home?

  32. rico says:

    not me rsd, sorry…

  40. K-TR7 says:

What are the odds of big jack doing us a favour against the mancs this weekend…

  41. JonJon says:

    hi rico..

  42. JonJon says:

    are the mancs away??

bolton will be tough..and if theres no rooney could be a draw

  43. come on big jack

shame tho jj i was looking forward to the trip too lancashire

  44. if result go our way we could be top on for rocky nb day

  45. JonJon says:

    now wouldnt that be sweet

  46. rico says:

if rooney is out that will give their oppo’s faith, they will walk out onto the pitch believing they can win – with belief comes victory, lets hope its true and fergie has to rest him, either that or he plays him and he gets crocked big time…

  47. JonJon says:

    haha

  48. JonJon says:

then they’ll have to play berbatov lol

and newspapers up and down the country will have a giant pull out rooney knee for us all to pray at

like what they did for beckhams toe that time..

  49. JonJon says:

i hope they do..give me something else to throw my darts at

  50. K-TR7 says:

There is alot of messi hype right now and how he will tear us a new one.wasn’t 2007 WPY kaka supposed to do the same?weren’t the galacticos?i hope our boys play without fear!there is no way sagna and co would allow him to just stroll through the defence.i hope AW concentrates more on winning midfield battle than all this messi frenzy.i love it when we’re underdogs.i hope this will be the moment we command respect all over europe but first things first Birmingham…Is gallas ready for the first or second barca clash?

  51. rico says:

    πŸ˜† jj

  52. rico says:

KTR7, i’m gunner wait until the day before i get nervous about barca…. i hope πŸ˜‰

  53. rico says:

Arsenal’s Head of Youth Development chief Liam Brady has decided against offering new contracts to Under 18 trio Sam Byles, Rhema Obed and James Dunn. All three are now free to find new club’s ahead of next season.

  54. K-TR7 says:

I’ve come from a chav blog whereby they were praising AW’s wage structure and how we don’t allow to be held at ransom by players.they are tired of ballack earning 130k and getting contract extensions at his age while he does nothing.they were also in awe of our attacking wealth and flair which they can’t buy especially fab/AA/TR7/nasri/rvp.they have also praised our youth system and majority of the chav fans concurred on this views.they also said they shouldn’t use essien’s injury as an excuse since we have had rvp and most of our players out to more serious injuries.PROUD TO BE A GUNNER!

  55. rico says:

    KTR7, I’m always proud to be a Gooner πŸ˜‰

  56. K-TR7 says:

Rico-Its so hard to think about birmingham knowing that messilona fc will be at the emirates next week.i hope AW has his troops concentrating on the pl though i know he has one eye on barca.its more exciting to think about iniesta compared to jerome but thats what we have to do first while banishing some demons along the way…

  57. rico says:

you have to, we all have to, B’ham is just as important as barca KTR7…

  58. JonJon says:

i hope the manager and the players aint even thinking about barca next…thats how complacency sets in…

one game at a time..birmingham first..lets beat them then worry about barca…

for the fans its different..we have every right to be excited..this is why we enjoy playing cl..its not just abuout the money for us its about playing teams like barca..

  59. rico says:

JJ – spot on, barca should not even be on the radar until 5pm Saturday…

  60. rico says:

I’m off for the night folks – another busy day tomorrow before the builders are in for a couple of days 😦 😦

Be good and stay safe, nighty night
