Come 3pm, we could be ten down.. bet the pundits don’t mention that!!

A lot went on yesterday in the news about our fine club and our illustrious leader had a whole lot of things to say….

Nowt changes there then eh?

He talked about,

Why he believes the play-off for the CL place could be pointless.
Why he believes in the goal keepers he has to hand
Why the FA should help Portsmouth but not bend the transfer rules on the way

Tell you what I think, why talk about Portsmouth? It’s not our problem Arsene, unless of course you are thinking of nicking David James on the cheap – or any other player for that matter?

To be honest though, the poor chap just heads off to do a press interview, gets asked stupid irrelevant questions, answers them in a very diplomatic way and then everyone dissects what he replies…

I would rather know HONESTLY why he hasn’t tweaked our squad and made it into a real winning side..

But hey, we have all done that to death, haven’t we?

We have what we have until the summer so let’s get behind them (even Denilson) and roar our support from the rafters 🙂

Sunderland arrive at The Emirates today full of confidence, not from their last run of results but more so from the result they earned when we played them on their turf.

We were poor that day, we must have been, either that or we turned up believing the three points had been secured and we got complacent – I am going for the latter!

So today has to be very different, the players have to walk onto the green green grass of home thinking they are 1-0 down, fight for their lives from the off. To have a chance of winning this league we cannot afford to drop points, especially at home and especially against a side who hasn’t won in yonks..

In fact its twelve games since Sunderland have won a game a football, already Steve Bruce has said he hopes the board are patient with him and give him time to turn around results – he fears he will be axed if he doesn’t sort things out soon!

Well I hope Steve Bruce does turn things around and go on a long run of winning games, what I do hope though is that that begins next week and not tomorrow 😉

So who’s in and who’s out….

Sunderland have fitness doubts over Reid and Henderson, Cattermole and Meyler miss out due to being suspended.

Arsenal – We are without Gallas, Diaby, Van Persie, Eduardo, Djourou, Arshavin, Gibbs, and Merida –
Late fitness tests are in stall for both Almunia and Song!!

If Song and Alnunia are declared unfit, that’s TEN players we have out, yes I know Merida and Djourou wouldn’t definately be starters, but they would be on the bench wouldn’t they??

Did you read that long list of injured players Sky Sports?

Nah, of course you didn’t, you always like to make a big fuss over Manure (aka Sky FC) having Giggs out injured, or The Dippers missing Torres!!

Big day, big game, and I expect a big result in our favour; let’s show the boys from up north just how good we are on the slick surface at the Emirates and send Brucie home without any kind of bonus.

Let’s not let Steve Bruce go home with a similar kind of smug face that the last Manc went home with!!

Secure the three points and get us right back in this title race – we have to stay in it to win it!

Almunia
Eboue/Sagna TV Sol Clichy
Cesc Song Rosicky
Nasri Nik Theo

That’s it, no gossip, no round up, just utter garbage from me 😉

    Morning peoples…

  2. JonJon says:

nice rico, and i agree..i bet wengers regretting not ‘finding’ any players now in january…

injuries stacking up again..business end of the season again..

    always the hard way

  3. rico says:

Morning JJ, I bet he is, it cheeses me off though how sky etc go on about Dippers, Russuians and chavs all having injuries, ours is horrendous…

  4. JonJon says:

the thing with sky is that we the only one of those teams who have a ‘youth project’..so they dont give a toss about our injuries…

as far as the media are concerned wenger brings it all on himself…hence the lack of positivity…

the only way to win them over is to win something..prove them wrong..until then….

  5. rico says:

Youth and Foreign JJ, not the perfect mix for the likes of Sky!

  6. W.A.T.H says:

    Mornin Rico…
Mornin JJ…………… Interesting post rico, 3 seasons running AW has missed the plot with buying what we needed !! His excuses are running very thin..!

  7. JonJon says:

    yeah your right..foreign too…

the rest have english heros in their squad..

    gerrard
    rooney
    terry

we aint got anyone so unless theo starts turning it on we always guna get picked on..
or sign joe cole on a free… 😉

  8. JonJon says:

    howdy WATH..

nice to see ya again…yeah i was saying this the other day….

if we end up trophyless this year after promising them, throwing the domestic cups and having 40mil to spend and not using it-whats he guna say this time at the AGM…judge me in another year?? he says that every year..

  9. kay says:

if alex is not fully fit, we should not rush him back into the game cos i expect the trip to stoke to be trickier.Do we have chamark in the bag now?

  10. rico says:

Sad though to think we are relying on Theo to be our hero 😉

Morning WATH, good to see you back, I have missed your cheek 😉

I think our patience is running as thin as AW’s excuses…

Something though makes me wonder if he has insight to something we don’t know, like clubs not being allowed to borrow when in debt, the rule about overseas players, hence him buying them all when they are very young and very cheap…

  11. kay says:

Rico, i need u to answer this,is chamack in the bag now?

  12. JonJon says:

there has to be a balance though rico..

its ok having a long term plan..im very happy that we are securing our long term future..

but what about now?? what about the present?

lets face it the future may never happen…wenger cant control that..what he can control is now and for the past few years hes been looking to far into the future…

  13. rico says:

JJ, it frustrates the heck out of me too, I could understand a couple of seasons without winning after the loss of big guns and the reform, but five is taking the mickey

  14. rico says:

I relly hope the ruling of not being able to spend while announcing losses each year comes into force, so many clubs will then struggle to keep up.

Just look at the russian camp, they have an ageing bunch at the moment and report losses every year…

They could be well and truely in the poo

  15. rico says:

JJ, if you are about, can you double check the pending comment please? I am in doubt, thanks

  16. JonJon says:

roman will just write it off every year..thats the advantage of owning your own club..either that or he’ll just buy 2million shirts every year at 50 quid a pop and settle the ‘loss’ that way

the only way chelsea go bust is if roman does and that might not be for another 20 years..

its a very fine line…fifa may decide to exclude any club who have excessive debts from CL..which rules us out straight away cos we have a huge loan on the stadium…

we might find ourselves at the shitty end of the stick depending on what the exact rules are..

  17. JonJon says:

seems harmless rico.. i think 😉

  18. rico says:

    Chhers JJ

Welcome to Avenell Road Kay, sorry for the delay..

I can’t anwer the question about Chamakh, but I hope its a done deal..

I thought they wouldn’t accept ‘pay offs’ JJ, or is that my wishful thinking 😉

  19. JonJon says:

thats what i mean about buying all those shirts rico..its not classed as a payoff..its money generated through merchancise..doesnt matter whos bought em it still goes down on the income sheet as shirt sales..

chamkhs a done deal…hes free…he plays in france, and hes african..

wenger signing written all over it 😉

  20. JonJon says:

its my grandads birtday today..he would have been 80..

hope the boys stuff sunderland for him today..

  21. K-TR7 says:

This week has been so depressing…the boys owe us a decent performance today

  22. Erick says:

Hi People 🙂 nice post Rico so Wenger is talkin too much

  23. rico says:

Happy Birthday Grandpa JJ, hope he up there with my Pa cheering us on today ….

Hi KTR7, big win I hope

  24. kieron says:

I wonder if Wenger is saying to himself again, ‘I stuffed up by not getting something teed up for the Jan transfer window’. Cos it seems to happen almost every year where we are going good (top of league by 5 points until Eduardo break) and then we end up 3rd or 4th after a fight. Well as the years go by it all gets jumbled up into just memories and not which year this happened or that. But every time we could give a good challenge, we get found out cos no one was bought in the window. How many times can we get stung by this?

  25. rico says:

Morning Erick, thanks – too much talking and not enough doing in my book …

  26. rico says:

Mornin kieron, welcome to Avenell Road

I never get AW and transfer windows, its not like he doesn’t know when they are, but always leaves it til the last day and then tells all all he tried to sign someone…

Look at the AA debacle, even that went on after midnight on the final day…

Sad thing is, he thinks we all believe him…

  27. JonJon says:

wengers facing a possible conduct charge for his comments on the ref..could lead to a touchline ban

can u imagine pat rice holding the fort for a few euro games… 😉

  28. rico says:

It will be the silent approach JJ 😉

Few games JJ, you reckon we will get by Porto then 😉

  29. JonJon says:

manure got a tough one at goodison

and if wolves decide to field thier best team could be a banana skin for chelsea..

3 points v sunderland is a must today

  30. rico says:

Wolves have been fined for fielding ‘that side’ 😆

I reckon Everton will win that one, Shrek will get a straight red card and miss three games

    Purfeck 😉

  31. JonJon says:

    yeah we’ll beat porto..

away goals crucial cos i think porto could get one..everyone else seems to against us and if they dont find the net one of our players seems to..the amount of own goals we give away is getting silly..but we should hit a few….

  32. rico says:

Hopefully Song will be back in the middle, that should help too, no Diaby I guess as he is out for a while..

Just pray no more injuries before that game and Willy gets himself fit..

Who you start with today then??

  33. JonJon says:

    ??
    sagna sol tv traore
    eboue cesc rosicky
    theo nikki nasri

  34. rico says:

Its good to see a team without Almunia or Fabianski JJ 😉

Did you see Sol’s comments about Denilson in the paps today??

  35. Erick says:

The boys should play today for the fallen Soldiers JJ grand pa an K-TR7 pa R.I.P

  36. rico says:

But your team just about shows how bad things are, Eboue in the midfield…

    Song’s fit isnt he?

  37. JonJon says:

    i dont know rico

i think weve lacked alot of energy in the middle so thats why i think eboue should play

whats the big man said about crabby??

  38. kieron says:

    Thanks Rico for acknowledging me…
I am a die hard fan from Sydney, Australia and stay up countless nights watching them. Each time we give a crap performance I say not doing it this weekend, maybe if I dont watch we will win, but I cant help myself. I pray that cos we are a good team on field, being run in the best way possible and we dont throw money to win something like Spurs. But it doesnt pay off, are the football gods saying, do it the manure, chelski, pool or spuds way? I believe and have told my GF (poor girl gets bombarded) that this is our year!!! The fact that with a genius incharge (and he is, trophy or not), none of this ‘big money signings’ but instead a good team going about our business as best we can despite constant setbacks, means that good men dont always finish last!!!
Please god, gods what ever it is out there, we are good fans who are due a good turn in our team. A beacon saying that it is possible to win trophies and prove that u dont have to be like City, Chelski, UTD etc etc!!! Have faith my fellow Gooners, 12,000 miles away i am feeling the same pain, but just wait and see it will come!!!

From The Times February 20, 2010

Sol Campbell rediscovers his love of the game at Arsenal

Campbell believes he can play at the highest level for another three years
As he stretches out in his chair after a lengthy massage at London Colney, one of the many perks of being back among the elite, Sol Campbell expresses his determination to play on at the highest level for another three years, preferably at Arsenal.

It is quite a claim but should not be discounted entirely, given that already this season he has moved from Coca-Cola League Two and into the Champions League. Of all the great players of the Premier League generation, only David Beckham can match Campbell’s remarkable career trajectory, which, in addition to all his success, has contained allegations of treachery, the most vile personal abuse, a very public mental disintegration and now two redemptive comebacks.

Campbell and Beckham first met as teenagers on opposing teams in London schools football — Newham v Waltham Forest — and are the 21st century’s very own comeback kids. Even Beckham’s triumphant return to Europe from LA Galaxy pales when set alongside Campbell’s recent scaling of the footballing ladder. The former England captain may have gone from the Home Depot Arena to playing for AC Milan at San Siro in a matter of months, but never played for Notts County against Morecambe at Christie Park.

If nothing else, the fixtures and fittings are of superior quality in LA.

    Campbell: leaving Arsenal was mistake
Campbell’s return to Arsenal has surprised even himself, as when he first turned up at the club three weeks after walking out on Notts County in October, it was with the sole intention of getting himself fit, a route previously taken by Beckham. The 35-year-old had spent several tortuous weeks running around Battersea Park and swimming at his local gym, so it was a relief to discover that he no longer had to pay for his beloved massages.

“I’ve always believed in my own ability, but never thought I’d play for Arsenal again,” Campbell said. “I came back to try and keep fit, with a view to getting another club, in the Premier League or the Championship. I trained by myself for three weeks, which was hard work mentally. I tried to do everything — jogs, sprints, in and out of cones, I went swimming, anything just trying to get the best out of the facilities I had. Ball work was pretty difficult on my own!

“I started training with the first team after about a month, just popping in to help out if they were a few bodies light. I was the spare man, but didn’t mind. It was like going back to school, but I didn’t mind starting again.

“I never gave a single thought about playing for Arsenal until January, when Arsène Wenger started to consider it. It was a gradual process. He never said, ‘we’re short Saturday, can you play?’ Not quite anyway. The boss saw me training, making better times, playing OK and how I was conducting myself around the club. He said he was thinking about signing players, but they were a bit top-heavy with defenders so I’d have to wait.”

Campbell rejected opportunities to join Newcastle United and West Bromwich Albion in January and his patience was rewarded when Philippe Senderos was offloaded to Everton, freeing up a space in the squad for a central defender.

“I had a few other offers, but once this one came along there was only one winner,” Campbell said. “Everyone else was blown out of the water. There were a few things to sort out as they had a few defenders, but I said to the boss, ‘However long you want me to wait, I’ll wait.’ He was honest and said he wouldn’t stand in my way if a move came up, but I was prepared to wait. I don’t mind being patient.”

Campbell’s patience stemmed from a determination to return to the highest possible level after that disastrous 28-day spell at Notts County. Even five months on, he is angry at what he perceives as the lies he was told at Meadow Lane, which he feels cost him four months of his career, and the way he was vilified for leaving the club.

Although not as painful as his previous walkout in 2004, when he left Highbury at half-time during a Premier League match against West Ham United, there is a hint of anger towards Sven-Göran Eriksson, who accused Campbell of letting him down before leaving Notts County himself. “It wasn’t as hard as 2004, that was a totally different situation,” he said. “But I had four months off, so there was a lot of frustration and a lot of anger.

“I was angry because I couldn’t play football for legal reasons which were not my fault. I couldn’t play the game I love, and it all built up inside me. In the event it created the perfect environment for me as I had great motivation and the perfect target. I had hunger, desire and would have done anything to get back.

“It’s not what I wanted, but in the end it did me a favour big time. People were far too quick to judge me without knowing the facts. A lot of people were too quick, far too quick. It’s typical of people these days. As time went on, only a few weeks as it happens, people started to see and now it’s completely unravelled. Even Eriksson was too quick to talk. Everyone can see the situation now.”

After a difficult second debut in last month’s FA Cup exit away to Stoke City, the reason for Campbell’s shock signing became evident during last week’s controversial Champions League defeat against Porto, when he replaced the injured William Gallas. Again he endured a horrendous start, when he was short-changed by a poor Denilson pass and exposed by Hulk, but recovered to score Arsenal’s equaliser before playing the much talked-about back-pass to Lukasz Fabianski that resulted in Porto’s winner. After years away from the world’s gaze, he appeared inexorably drawn to the limelight.

    *********** THIS BIT******************

“I wasn’t happy that Denilson played the ball behind me in the first minute!” he said. “It was the perfect through-ball. I thought is he playing for us or what? That opened up the lungs and got me nice and warmed up straight away. But it was great being back. You live and dream for those nights, mixing it with the best. It was a great night — I loved it.”

After playing in League Two, it is a joy for Campbell to be competing for the Premier League and Champions League and believes that Arsenal can maintain their challenge for both trophies.

Having been an integral part of the so-called Invincibles six years ago, Campbell is well placed to compare the present team to Arsenal’s last title winners, with the main difference he identifies being a shortage of experience. As diplomatically as possible, Campbell suggests that Arsenal could do with some more older players, an imbalance he believes Wenger will address in the coming years.

“It’s a younger team now,” he said. “I think in the next couple of years the gaffer will address that and redress the balance. I’m sure he’ll bring in some more mature players.

“This team is totally different, but still have the potential to go on and win things. They have to develop some self-belief, put a little bit extra in and make some sacrifices. They have to really believe, and really go for it. That’s when you make your own luck in the game.”

Having enjoyed his return to the highest level, Campbell is determined to stick around for as long as possible. “I think I can keep myself fit and play top football for the next two to three years,” he said. “This season and at least another two. I’m here for six months, and if something happens, something happens.

“If not I’ll have to look elsewhere. The manager’s told me I’ve got to the end of the season and he’s looking for other players, but I want to play as many games as possible for Arsenal and help them to win something.”

  40. K-TR7 says:

Porto were poor on wednesday which surprised me as we were playing at their place.we should stuff them at the grove injuries permitting and depending which team shows up.it has been so depressing that i haven’t been to the internet for two days!nasri deserves the bench and walcott is improving slowly although it was just a cameo since its all he can master.hope he proves me wrong.fabianski almost gave me a heart attack.

  41. rico says:

No worries kieron, its good to have you on board..

There are a few bloggers here from overseas.

I don’t doubt we have one of the best managers out there at our club, but he has gone from signing the likes of Freddie, Bobby P, Edu, Gilberto, Henry, Paddy, Overmars, Anelka, Petit who were world class, to signing a few sub standard players..

I don’t think many disagree with the youth principle, but I would love to see 3/4 old heads in there too, get a good balance. How can the youth learn from youth?

  42. kieron says:

    And its Ar-se-nal,
    Ar-se-nal FC,
Were by far the greatest team,
    The world has ever seen!!!

Every game at the weekend and midweek in all cups and leagues, i put on my fav strip (with RVP on back), my Arsenal football at my feet, my Arsenal wrist sweat band (recently bought as its sumer and hot at night), My Arsenal watch (GF bought me, she loves them too BTW) and watch us play.. Love it!!!
(I read so many forums and never leave a comment, so am making up for it now!)
The game is on at 2am, so I have the wrist band on now in my long perperation!!!
    COMON U GOONERS!!!
    I predict a 2-0 win!!!

  43. JonJon says:

haha but the stats suggest denilsons the perfect player..

campbells such a troll, he should be happy just to be on the same pitch as denilson 😉

  44. rico says:

KTR7, it hurts doesn’t it, but I think Theo is just starting to improve a little too – against Porto I couldn’t believe how many times he actually tracked back and defended, on occasions he even made a few good tackles 😉

  45. rico says:

I love the ‘blown out the water’ bit – you wonder how a man of his stature could feel such emotion..

Like you say though, no doubt it was the thought of playing behind Denilson, talk about in at the deep end… 😉

  46. rico says:

kieron, how long you been following the team..

  47. JonJon says:

ive gotta nip out for a bit guys and gals..be back later for the game

  48. rico says:

Morning Roy, welcome aboard Avenell Road, thanks for the link…

  49. K-TR7 says:

Theo is taking baby steps hopefully he comes through unscathed.i hope after all the care we are giving to wonder boy isn’t only to benefit the dutch before they injure him again

  50. rico says:

KTR7, Boy Wonder will be back for us, just to see us over the finishing line …

  51. kieron says:

I have been supporting Arsnal since our 96/07 season. That was my first full season supporting them, but i haden’t developed the passion and love i now have for them, it was more like hopping down from the fence and standing next to it. My team in League still existed so when they got kicked out, I then went head long into football, after all it is the world game…
MONEY WAS THROWN AROUND EVERYWHERE in League and it ruined it, as it will ruin these clubs that try to compete with money instead of being smart like the Mighty Gunners!!!
This is why Arsenal are by far the greatest team. We run our club like it should be done, the stupid Spurs, Chelski’s, pools and city’s of this world can only be successfull for a short time. I bet if we fast forward 6-7 years we will see that Arsenal will be top or there abouts and the money that is thrown into these johny come lately clubs will have disapeared into the next interests these billionaires have, and I for one cant wait!
Anyway, UTD were a big reason I started to follow AFC. After they won there treble, we had them rammed down our throats. We have a sports tonight show (ch 10, free to air) and on that was UTD this UTD that, I hated it. So cos AFC could beat them in games and the league etc, I stuck with it as league went down.
Now I am here, a die hard fan and love it!!!

  52. rico says:

Hi RSD, looking forward to the game then….

  53. JonJon says:

im back..just had to visit the grave..pay respects

    come on everton..

tell u wat..that donovans a good player..him and saha could cause manures defence allsorts of shit…

    with any luck they will

  54. kieron says:

Sure u would play RVP from kick off in a friendly againsts Italy or anyone for that matter. Why not look at other players to put away goals for Holland and leave our RVP alone. I wonder if he really enjoys playing for them and getting hammered like he did all for a friendly. Arsenal pay his wages he in emplyed by us, we get hurt the most when he is injured, god it annoys me!

  55. rico says:

    Hope you ok JJ…

I din’t realise just how good he was until the game against us, shame we can’t nab him…

  56. kieron says:

I wonder how donavon and beckham are getting along. Didnt they have a falling out cos he was going back to Milan in the off season to play. He was being critical of Beckham for doing that wasnt he. Is he at the toffees in the same kind of deal as Beckham? either way he is doing bloody good. If someone can shut down Rooney, they are stuffed. I watch them play sometimes when they are on tele and i am waiting for Arsenal to start and he is brilliant unfortunatly. Hoefully he will get stick from the fans and make a complete twat of himself out there. Should be a good game, need them to slip up then chelski to do likewise. Knowing us if they do slip up, u cant bet we will try our hardest to do same!
BUT, have faith its our year, I can forsee it…

  57. was he a die hard gooner jj?
    donavon was
didn’t think he would keep it up just thought he was up for us as was his first game. boy how he proved me wrong.
Your happy that a game comes so quick after you lose so you dont have to think about it.

  58. JonJon says:

ive heard his name being branded about for a while now..always getting rave reviews but never took it seriously…then i seen him play PL and thought wow…why nobodys snapped him up before is beyond me..

    keiron..

cant really stop top players from playing for their countries though…all top players not only want records at their clubs but they want to be recognised at international level…the amount of caps they get and the amount of goals they score always looks good on a players cv..

robins quickly become hollands no 1 striker…and holland are a massive team…huge…

of course he enjoys playing for them..the injury is frustrating but its part of football…

  59. have you seen kitchen sinks denilson v porto vid

  60. utd looking weak at the back

  61. JonJon says:

rsd…u mean my grandad?? hell yeah..

if you read yogis post today it reminds me of him…

born in london, loved the arsenal, evacuated to leeds then joined the army..finished his service and moved to leeds permanent to be with my nan who he met wen he was evacuated and started a family..brought me up to be a gunner…

only ever talked about 2 things…arsenal and the war…so supporting another team wasnt an option..i was brainwashed from a young age.. 😉

  62. JonJon says:

lol rsd ive seen that vid

wat exactley does it show??? cos im really confused…is it just me or was it aload of bollox?

  63. and you had to grow up surround by united fans thats why your like this. 😉

  64. JonJon says:

i think the donovan beckham thing was a clash of egos

donovans usa no 1 player and beckham no 1 import…

same team..only a matter of time before they locked horns

  65. JonJon says:

    exactley rsd… 😉

  66. still not seeing it then
    @kerion i think its 6 month loan

  67. JonJon says:

that denilson clip just makes me wet my pants… wats it suppose to show???

  68. K-TR7 says:

Rvp rarely gets injured playing for us,it hurts he seems to score screamers for the dutch than he can for us.he is my favourite player along tomas but his injury was so devastating to us.shava was played out of position and took one for the team and we love him to bits thus getting injured.i hope aw is being cautious and rvp is available after the international break in march.nasri needs to rise to the occasion, imagine theo with his talent!

  69. JonJon says:

and theres 5 minutes of it…

  70. JonJon says:

    fuck 1-0 mancs

  71. what you saying for next 84 shit

  72. need to press f5 more

  73. nasri is a consistent performer kt

  74. JonJon says:

i still dont think nasris been that great this season…for 12 mil and secnd year i sort of expected more…

    still better than denilson though

  75. some one just told me

“denilson is like Nasri and Rosicky and Arshavin, but they are better”

    lol

  76. nasri is due somemore goal but i think he craves cesc postion but wenger thinks he has more pace so uses him on “wing”

  77. JonJon says:

    pmsl

heres a player if anyone wants to see talent rsd

  78. JonJon says:

    totally agree..

nasris a cm..he dont really like it out wide..dont see enough of the ball

  79. rico says:

Im back, had a visit from my Ma, and boy does she talk 😆

1-1 then and Everton just missed a sitter

  80. JonJon says:

    manure to get beat today..

  81. rico says:

I would rather see Nasri alongside Cesc when Song is out, leave Denni boy at home 😉

  82. rico says:

I reckon so JJ, the less ugly Neville to get one over on his bro 😉

  83. JonJon says:

its like wengers said before all his players want to play down the middle..

and they do..we dont have one single player who looks comfy on the wing in the squad…

  84. JonJon says:

    less ugly neville.. lol

  85. rico says:

Sky Sports are doing a piece on the old Arsenal..

  86. K-TR7 says:

Nasri had a better first season than second which is weird.i don’t hate him but i think he still lives off his brace against the mancs like AA does with his goal haul at anfield although he performs better than nasri.sagna has been the definition of consistency in the last two years and its a fact.he may not cross to save his life but he is a rock defensively which is his primary role.people never acknowledge efforts of such players because they can’t pass like cesc or shoot like aa which is sad,you never know their value till they are gone

  87. kieron says:

i agree all we do is try to go down middle, they just pack the defenders there and we cant get through. However it seems like we cant get through but obviously we do as we scored many goals… Everton looking so much better for most of that half, Shrek not having best half, comon toffees, keep it up for 45 more minutes…
its pretty warm tonight so have my strip hanging on cross trainer, ball at the feet, wrist band on, lets go not far away now!!!

  88. kieron says:

Oh and BTW, how the ref missed the handball by Brown and how Donavan missed the goal, i hope he doesnt rue that chance!!

  89. he’s limited to pop shots on the left from wide
    i agree
no wonder his best game is when he played with cesc in middle

  90. rico says:

    Good comment KTR7

  91. sorry aint keeping up with f5 today kids r snowed in

  92. rico says:

Jeff Stelling and the brady bunch are hammering our club, especially Fabianski…

  93. JonJon says:

yeah traore likes the wing but hes 3rd choice lb..

hes not exactley a gamechanger….we’d be better off playing a cm out wide than traore.. 😉

  94. rico says:

You got a load of snow there RSD 😆

  95. JonJon says:

    they right though rico…

top clubs dont win anything without top keepers..weve all been saying that for god knows how long…

at the end of the day wenger bought almunia from a second division spanish team when he was in his late twentys and now hes our number one and our best keeper of the current crop…do u see fergie or benitez buying crap for a key position…no they go out and get the best…wengers created his own mess with almunia

and after fabs display did anyone think we werent going to get the piss taken out of us

  96. rico says:

you are right, they are right about all they are saying, keepers, how we need players for now not in five years, how we couldn’t string passes together and how dejected cesc looked…

and when they point out that sol was the one of the best players on the pitch, just how does that make you feel??

    makes me feel sick!

  97. why do you bother it just negative energy pre game.
Yeah rico we had 2 feet this morning and it still snowing.
the first time all winter the tram got stuck on the rails
thankfully it got me out of a weekend at the in laws hence i’m bloooging

  98. JonJon says:

if we could get tht defence organised then we’d storm every competition were in..

lets face it we can pass the ball for fun and we can open anybody up..

but as long as our defensive game continues to gift goals from to the other team we’ll always make it hard on ourselves

i love good attacking play but i love good defending also…nothing better to lift the crowd than a bone crunching tackle..other than a goal…

    wenger needs to sort it..

  99. rico says:

Its real though RSD 😦 No matter what I read or watch the game will go the same way..

You must have a lot to stop the trams, we are due some here later today and tomorrow, I had hoped we had seen the last of it, bloody stuff!!

    😆 re the outlaws ..

  100. rico says:

It aint rocket science is it JJ, i just don’t get why Wenger can’t see it..

maybe he does though and thats why he dropped Almunia, if it was, it backfired big time..

i hope the rumours about sorrennson (spelling) are true at least then we know he sees what we see..

  101. rico says:

Wes Brown is such a filthy player!!

  102. it been snow here since before xmas
forgotten what the grass looks like
Was walking the dog this morning and stepped of the path was up to me knee
just what do you get from the pundits that you dont already know it’s just hyperbole and revisionism.
jj re your last statement why do you hate denilson

  103. didn’t wenger flat blank denied the sorrennson balls

  104. rico says:

RSD, I don’t believe too much that he says anymore…

  105. Almunia, Eboue, Silvestre, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song, Ramsey, Fabregas, Nasri, Walcott, Bendtner

  106. rico says:

    2-1 toffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss

  107. the freekick rules he gave out yesterday
    kind of made me think

  108. come on
now wolves build on the spurs win

  109. JonJon says:

i dont hate denilson mate…hes a tidy little squad player..average at best..good the the little teams and the cc..

what i hate is the way he gets his arse licked and ppl go on like hes the best midfielder on the planet…

hes so overatted and it does my head in the way certain fans make out hes mr wonderful…

if he was that good he’d be in the brazil squad and if we have a fully fit first team he doesnt even get on the bench so i just dont get it why ppl go on like hes up for the ballon d’or or something

  110. rico says:

Blimey – that team is unexpected…

    RSD what rules??

  111. JonJon says:

lol..yeah wenger flat out denied the sorenson rumours but he also said hed sign some one in january…

he also says at the end of every year he’ll keep the squad together and he’ll sign big players…

honestly i pay as much attention as i do to what wenger says as i do to what the media says…

its all spin…part and parcel of football..there aint a manger out there who speaks the truth..that includes wenger

  112. rico says:

Ramsey Song Cesc… Not bad eh?

  113. JonJon says:

yup…think wengers fooled everyone with that team

  114. JonJon says:

    no campbell?? no rosicky??

  115. kieron says:

YES!!! 2-1 to Everton, 5 min to go according to TV…
    comon!!!

  116. rico says:

they better be on the bench…

  117. rico says:

its been like that for ten minutes kieran, keep up 😉 😉

  118. rico says:

how close was that free kick from shrek!!! phew..

  119. rico says:

    3-1 game over now…

  120. JonJon says:

    that was a sweet goal

  121. rico says:

wonder if theo watched that goal by rodwell…..

  122. JonJon says:

    beautiful technique

i think thats a stupid rule..how can u book a kid who scores for his hometown club against the mancs and strips and jumps in the crowd…

    its called passion…

ive seen players get just a talking to for some of the dirtyest tackles ever and they book a kid for that????

    dumb

  123. rico says:

any goal that beats the mancs is sweet jj 😉

  124. not really
sol is a big ask for him to play 2 games in 4 days
we are at home and wenger does like to use the squad.
    http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-the-five-errors-the-referee-made

  125. rico says:

Stupid rule indeed, but I bet he don’t care right now JJ –

Today we can get to two points off 2nd place,

This crop need to get their big fat backsides in order this afternoon and win this game, we have been given so so many chances to catch the top two, today it must count…

  126. the pensioners team looks a little squadey for an away match

  127. Erick says:

Everton he he he he he he he 🙂 🙂 Come on Arsenal

  128. rico says:

AFC.com, Referee Steve Bennett, then in brackets (Kent)

He better not be today 😳

  129. how annoying richardson makes the team

  130. rico says:

He could be a pain RSD, little squirt 😉

  131. Erick says:

Silvester boy oh boy call 4 me a heart doctor attack through out the game

  132. Erick says:

    Good luck lads

  133. avenell says:

What was that we have offered Silvestre a new contract.. 😯

  134. looks like one of those games

  135. avenell says:

Yeah we need a goal soon.. Wtf was Theo doing?

  136. fuck no’s nasri hello
    he even looked at him

  137. avenell says:

  138. does everyone want to be a hero in the box come on guys pass to the guy who open

  139. just about to say eboue looks like hes adding pace to the attacks get in

  163. kieron says:

I am trying hard to keep up but pc is not near tele atm… awwriight!! hope we can do the same 2nd half!!!
Does Cesc look happy? I want him to score so he will be, or at least so we can judge his body language.
comon 45 min to go, Kenwyn Jones missed a pearler of a chanec, i thought big trouble when that went thru. Should always go for the trap. Vermealen is bloody brilliant! ok, 3am still hot or maybe its me, no its hot!
