A Good Day at the Office.

It seems that reports of the demise of our title hopes have been greatly exaggerated. Arsenal took tentatively to the field and grew in confidence to such degree that having beaten Hull three – nil they strode off like Lions.

There was a new determination yesterday, the vacuum left by the absence of the Fabregas/Van Persie axsis has been filled by the more gritty nature of Vermaelen and Arshavin and this is worth emphasising; they are the alpha males of the team now and their fighting spirit was permeating throughout the team. And as if that wasn’t good news enough there was a punch up on the pitch as well.

Nasri trod on one of the Hull players feet, which looked as if the Hull player just fell over at the time, and then it all kicked off with Song weighing in and I suddenly had the thought that I wouldn’t want to get on the wrong side of him in a dark ally. The Referee and linesmen went into a huddle and I feared the worse: a red card was surely on it’s way but luckily only a yellow appeared and up stepped Denilson, everyone’s new best friend, and scored a free kick with Brazilian aplomb.

This changed everything, gone was the early nervousness and on came a very determined second half, which was only interrupted by the referee awarding Hull a penalty for some mysterious  shirt pulling, the Rum was going down a treat on this freezing afternoon and all around me went mad with joy as Almunia saved.

Big Al’s heroics kick started us back into action and it didn’t take long until we were able to sit back and roast chestnuts in the warm glow of a two nil cushion. Some superb work by Diaby on the left to then cut it back for Eduardo to score one of his trade mark tap ins. Diaby was going from strength to strength now and crowned a fine afternoon’s work off with a powerful goal of his own, this was the cue to try and increase the confidence in the rest of those lacking in it on the bench: enter Walcott and Ramsey, although the Welshman doesn’t need his confidence increasing he just needs more games.

All in all, a great afternoon, I mean, what could be sweeter than rubbing Phil Browns nose in it? Oh yes, I know, Mark Hughs getting the sack. Lol

Players ratings.

Almunia: come on admit it, you forgave him for a minute when he saved the penalty that kept us in the game. If Hull had scored they would have put eleven men behind the ball and wasted time to such an extent that your hatred of Phil Brown would have reached a level that you would have wanted to see him tortured before he was put down. Well, done Big Al. 7.5

Eboue: everybody’s favourite back up, gave Sagna an opportunity to recharge his batteries, kept his diving down to a minimum and gave a classy display in just how to play against one of the lesser teams. What are we going to do if someone comes in and actually wants to buy him? 8

Gallas: never made a single mistake, still so obviously loving playing along side Vermaelen which is making even more sense now we can look objectively at Kolo’s scatter brained work up norf. 9

Vermaelen: you just know that when the ball breaks and he is chasing side by side with an attacker there is only going to be one winner. His aggression and determination have been badly missed in the Passenal of recent seasons. I wonder if he has any brothers or cousins, a team just can’t have too many Vermaelens. 9

Silvestre: some wise sage has been battling over recent months to try and explain that Mikael is an inexpensive piece of insurance taken out by Wenger on the off chance that three left backs get injured, hhhhhmmm, who was that? Considering he has only played three games at left back in as many season he is doing fine and was better today than he was in the week. Keep it up Mikael 7.5

Denilson: you just know that the Lefties had a collective orgasm when he scored his goal. We have a new free kick taker and superbly taken it was as well; his confidence soared after scoring and had one of the best games of his career at Arsenal to date. 8

Song: he is realising that he is one big tough Cookie. I hope they make him captain for Camaroon in the up and coming ACoN, the only thing he is missing from his game is leadership quality. 8

Nasri: this man does not like travelling but put him in the Emirates and he is a different person. Freed from the powerful influence of Fabregas, the now fit Nasri went about running the creative part of the midfield with Galic flair and determination. 8

Diaby: someone else, who, being free of the powerful influence of Fabregas was able to express himself, safe in the knowledge that Denilson and Song had his back covered he was able to power forward playing the one role he is suited to and a very good goal to boot. 7.5

Arshavin: our new centre forward may not be too much of a threat in the air to most defenders but you can see that they are having a hard time dealing with him on the deck; worked hard and his winning mentality is starting to rub off. 7.5

Eduardo: slowly coming back to life, it’s all about goals with him and his important second goal of the afternoon lifted not only him but the whole team. 7

Best I could do at short notice

  2. Irishgunner says:

Apparently the final straw for Hughes was calling Wenger “a fucking wanker” 😆 like Wenger would have gone to City anyway ha ha

Diaby, Song, Denilson and Silvestre impressed me yesterday – nothing fancy (apart from the free kick) just a good honest day at the office.

  3. Irishgunner says:

Brown said: “I have got genuine players. They are solidly behind the campaign at Hull. Richard Garcia is an honest lad. If Nasri gets booked, why did he get booked? I need to know that one.
“If it is an off-the-ball incident, having given a free-kick, I cannot see any reason for him going and stamping on Richard. He doesn’t go down easily. He is a proper man.”

😆 all that tan has got to him, poor man just needs help…

  4. Big Raddy says:

    Good read London.

I agree that our CB’s were the best players yesterday. This partnership is so good. Gallas must be thrilled to have TV alongside him.

At the end of last season I would have been hard pressed to say which of Toure or Gallas should leave. With TV, Gallas has blossomed and I really hope he will sign another contract

  5. JonJon says:

    cheers london and good read…

i literally roared with laughter when you posed the question about having a few of Tv’s brothers in the squad..what a signing he has turned out to be…one of wengers best i feel…

i still maintain that in gallas and TV we have two of the best defenders in europe..if not the best, they just need abit more protection..

  6. Irishgunner says:

May I just say in Mark Hughes’ defence, one of his last acts as manager of City was to drop Barndoor, least he saw some light at the end.

  7. JonJon says:

i dont feel sorry for hughes at all..

he was never going to stay at citeh..not a chance..but he saw the cash and jumped on the bandwagon…his career is in tatters…

problem they have now is that the players who play for him and him alone and have that tosserish like attitude like bellamy are going to kick up a huge stink…

mancini will want his own players so will spend mega bucks to get them and they wont be able to offlaod any of hughes signings cos who can afford their wages???

they will end up with 30-35 players all wanting to play and all on massive contracts and the team will be so unstable that no manager could deal with all the egos..

mancini will do no better than hughes, they wont qualify for europe and then what next?? sack mancini?? and bring in anther manager who signs aload of players and cant offload the old ones??

just shows what a fucking circus citeh have become and they are an embarrasment to the PL…hughes got everything he deserved…alot like the players who signed for them for the cash…

  8. JonJon says:

and how good is mancini anyway??? the PL is a different kettle of fish to any league in the world..

ancelotti isnt really doing all that great he just inherited and good team…

mancini has inherited a side full of crap and full of egos…

but if they decide to have a fire sale id take ireland and SWP all day long..

  9. London says:

The first casualties of Mancini’s inevitable short tunure must surely be Toure and Abebayor.

  10. JonJon says:

london did you see songs tackle on geovanni?? i think it was just after the pen save and geo was through on big al and song hunted him down and got the ball from behind..it was a wonderful peace of defensive work..its hard to win the ball in that situation cos of fear of the refs whistle but song made it look like an art…

  11. Irishgunner says:

All the meeja will be out saying how right Wenger was to sell Barndoor and Kolo – like we said that when he sold them but the meeja always know best.

I used to love Kolo but feck it Vermaelen is the BUSINESS!!!

JJ – that picture you paint makes me feel very sorry for City 😆 😆 😆

  12. JonJon says:

who would take them though london??

ades on 150k a week…whos going to pay that for him?? he now has a global reputation as a lazy trouble maker..hes done it at everyclub hes been at and now he has done it to two PL clubs so everyones fugured him out…

i was reading through the mancity blogs with ave the other night and theyve worked him out already…the comments about him were identical to those on the arsenal blogs last year…

    his careers shot to bits..

  13. Irishgunner says:

    Oh on Mancini.

Two Coppa Italias and then three Leagues with Inter – One when they finished third (default), one when the rest were in Serie B, the other without a challenge from Juventus and Ac Milan were rebuilding.

    Got them nowhere in Europe.

  14. Irishgunner says:

I love telling the City fans “I told you so” – I thought Barndoor would last till the ACN but not even that much…. they gave him too much money too soon.

  15. JonJon says:

the media dont know shit irish..

they only way round getting rid of their players is if the owners pay off the conracts of the players they want to leave…making them free agents…

but that would cost millions and it would be morally wrong…if that happened fifa should close citeh down as a business…

  16. JonJon says:

so hes won titles then this mancini???

thats not hard with inter…juve and milan have been a dying force for ages…

its like manure facing mick mcartheys tactically inept wolves every week..

i’ll never consider mancity a threat..never..they are too much of a joke..

you see theirs two ends of the spectrum in football…theirs clubs that are financially in the shit and they go into free fall, like leeds and newcastle and now liverpool..maybe manure in a few years..

and then theres teams with so much money they dont know what to do with it and they totally mess up the club..like whats happened at citeh…

  17. Irishgunner says:

I think Toure would take a pay cut to play in Spain with little brother, Robinho is off to Barca by all accounts.

Given, Barry, Tevez, Santa Cruz they will keep.

Bellamy will cause a stink and make his annual move.

Lescott will be made a sub.

They are stuck with Barndoor 😆

  18. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters,

Excellent post London – and I enjoyed ur Raspsno joke yesterday 😆

Pleased to see my master plan has worked. I’ve slagged off Almunia, Diaby and Sylvestre off so much, they finally got pissed with me and all played exceptionally well yesterday 😉 Credit to all of them.

My belief will be totally restored if we can beat Villa…..

  19. Irishgunner says:

We’ll just sit and wait for Arsenal to come out of all this smelling of roses … Arsene promised 😀

  20. JonJon says:

is kolo good enough for barca though??

    i dont know..

would you have ireland at arsenal irish?? or is that a silly question..;)

  21. Irishgunner says:

Just reading about, its hilarious that City fans think Hughes “spent” the £200million.

Cook and whoever it is put in bids for everyone and got what they could take.

Who has worked out? Given, Bellamy and Barry…

Lescott and Toure are a joke but everyone else saw that.

  22. JonJon says:

    morning raspsnow…

yes you seemed to have finally got through to them all…but it was hull we were playing..did you expect anything less??

depending on our injury situation i think we can bring villa back to earth..their form against the top sides has been impressive but i dont think they have can play their expansive game without conceeding against us…

  23. Irishgunner says:

Ireland’s not an Irish international anymore, no more Irish than the man on the moon. Did what his fellow Cork man did and walked away.

He is an oddball. I’d go for Barry personally.

Now Shay Given is an Irishman I’d be proud to see wear the shirt.

  24. Irishgunner says:

One thing O’Neill has done is shore up Villa’s defence … with Richard Dunne 😆 City sold him for peanuts and spent £40mil on rubbish – brilliant!!!

Still Dunne won’t be able to cope with Arshavin.

  25. Rasputin says:

    Hi JonJon,

I know it was only Hull – am I getting hysterical 😕

Its a shame Nik won’t be back for Villa. Does anyoine know when Clichy is likely to return. Sylvestre played well yesterday but will always get found out when up against pace – and Villa have plenty of that!

  26. JonJon says:

i always thought lescott was a good defender…but 24mill was way way too much…12 would have been more reasonable..

turned out to be a bad move in the end..

given has always stood out for me as a class keeper..
but i dont see him leaving…hes one of the best in europe…probably the best in the PL

  27. Irishgunner says:

Jageilka (couldn’t be arsed to check the spelling) was always the better in that Everton partnership in my opinion. Said it at the time.

  28. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

Thanks for the post London, I had the title but I never saw the game properly.. 😦

I have read your piece Irish and as always it is very good.
But I think you are mis-reading what we are saying about Theo.
We would love for him to come good the lol was not laughing at him it was an ironic lol.. him falling over sums him up.
As much as you love a player or a person the facts are he is affecting Arsenal’s chances of winning anything, along with a few others. He is one of our highest paid players and I think to command that sort of money, a goal assist against Liverpool and two goals against Birmingham 2 years ago isn’t good enough.
Theo has no natural ball control he takes too many touches to bring it under control, he has to try to rebound the ball into a safe area normally behind him to keep it away from his defender.
When Greece and Spain won the Euro’s they do it as a team all the players playing similar styles. Theo doesn’t fit in with Arsenals style of play.

What is the point of having wingers when we don’t head the ball? playing the ball along the ground is an invitation for defenders to clear it.

We don’t play that direct, we play one two’s involving 3 or 4 players to get to goal. If you want route one sign the best players to do that Lennon/Crouch. or similar combinations.

The only time Theo would be effective is if we sat back in our own half and sucked the play in then theo could break. but we would need another Theo to be on the end of his crosses.

All teams play the get the ball out to wingers and hoof it in style, but they pay far more money for there players than we do and we score more goals, so I would say that our system of walking it in the net athough frustrating works very well.
What we are lacking is a Pires type wide player and I hope Rosicky can be the player he should be for us. and the irreplaceable DB10. But some things are not to be so to play the Wengerball way other and all players need to be techniical.

Also I got a caning on the same site as you did when I suggested Eboue was better for Arsenal than Theo, I thought he played better with Hleb, Flamini, Rosicky and Cesc.. So I do know what it’s like, but the difference on here is we will also say when a player does well like Diaby did yesterday (not as a defensive miidfieder though).
The comments are also said during a match when emotions are running high and I get into the game as if I was standing on the terraces again, we all used to laugh at Nial Quinn when he played, but we still loved him.

    Nearly afternoon now.. 🙂

  29. avenell says:

Just heard Steve Bruce saying sacking Mark Hughes was out of order and after 7 years training it isn’t fair that Championship managers last 18 months on average.

The same Steve Bruce that walked out on Birmingham and Wigan.. lol..

  30. JonJon says:

rasp i think traore and clichy could be back so we could have more options than we think..

    aftermorning ave..

    sleep well???

  31. avenell says:

Good apart from a bit of back ache JJ thanks.

  32. Irishgunner says:

Avenell, now if you say “white” and I say “white” where is the fun in that?? 😆

  33. avenell says:

    Morning Irish.. Spot on.. 🙂

We have the piss ripped into this site by another (that doesn’t read this one btw) for agreeing too much, so you have to spice it up.. 😉

  34. JonJon says:

their allin it together ave..ex mancs and all…brucies going to defend his mate..even if it does make him look silly…

i think wenger has handled the issue admirabley though..very gentleman like..even though he must hate hughes guts..he could of really put the boot in but declined..

  35. Irishgunner says:

ha ha variety is the spice of life.

I do hope Theo makes it but he needs to start making it quick. I’m hoping our Russian can teach him a thing or two – I would say he should watch tapes of Henry at his best but we want him playing the ball with his feet not his hands …. see I’m over it, see how I joke about it now!!!! 👿

Ha ha joking, I must be off to bed, catch up on the sleep I didn’t get last night, I’ve been up since 4am – lucky Arsenal won eh!!! 😀

  36. avenell says:

Wenger’s agent probably got a phone call 2 weeks ago seeing if he was interested in the Man City job.. so he had plenty of time to prepare his speech…

  37. avenell says:

Cheers Irish .. have a good night..

  38. Irishgunner says:

JJ – I think Wenger pities Hughes more than hates him. Its the same with Pulis, Brown, McCarthy, Megson, Fat Sam etc.etc. when they are all having a dig.

Wenger’s just thinking “show me your premier leagues” “Gone through a whole season, unbeaten??!!”

    They are only pawns.

Only Ferguson has a real meaning and he is a moany old alcee. Ancelotti seems like a nice chap bless him, was nice at Milan anyway – did a fine job there for the most part but never had the money/youth to win the league.

  39. avenell says:

An Arsenal fan made a good point on the Radio this morning.. When Arsenal lose 3-0 the media say we are in a mini crisis.. When Man U do it’s because of injuries..

  40. JonJon says:

im suprised teams even bother trying to get wenger anymore…

  41. Rasputin says:

I hope Pool don’t get Hiddink if Raffa goes – he’s a quality manager and would turn things around for them.

  42. avenell says:

Liverpool are fooked, no money and a lot of the better players heve gone.. David Blaine couldn’t save them.. 🙂

  43. avenell says:

    Haha like Mother like son…

  44. JonJon says:

    seeya irish..

rasp pool are in freefall and theres no stopping it…why would hiddink want to take charge of a team that only has 2 quality players,no youth setup and no money..

  45. avenell says:

The Dippers would also have to pay Rafa £20 million to get rid of him and Hiddink will want £10 million Euro’s a year (eh London 😉 )

  46. Rasputin says:

I know they’re in a dodgy situation, but their reputation and history carries a lot of weight. Torres’ scoring record for them is phenomenal (and he was probably nursing injury for a lot of games) If he played for us, we’d be unstoppable….

  47. JonJon says:

torres wont want to stay too long…

this is a player who left his hometown boyhood club so i see no reason why he would want to stay at pool if they dont qualify for europe..

  48. avenell says:

Leeds had a pretty good reputation and fan base too.. 🙂

I think that the Dippers were hoping that the lot from Dubai would have taken them over, but now Dubai is nearly bankrupt .. oh dear..

Torres may want to go with Rafa or back to Spain. So that would leave 1 half decent player and no dosh..

  49. avenell says:

    How do you do that?

  50. London says:

It’s interesting about Torres, I agree that there would be no reason for him to stay if Liverpool failed to qualify for Europe and he would certainly go if Benitez went…but who would he go to? It can’t be Real or Barça as they both have strikers, Milan maybe or how about a spell in London Fernando? Damn it I just realised who I had forgotten.

  51. avenell says:

Real would just find the money.. Who would be in front of him there?
They would just unload Benzema to an Italian club.

  52. Rasputin says:

Torres and Gerrard must be worth in excess of £80m combined if one of the ‘big’ clubs are interested them – that would pay Raffa off 😛

I’m sure Hicks and Gillette can find buyers in the middle east if they choose, but there will be resistance at the club against that form of ownership. Rather like us, they’d rather have yanks than arabs or russians I guess.

  53. JonJon says:

torres may want to stay in england…

hes played in the spanish league and he may like the PL better..

and we have one thing that barca and real dont have..

    cesc fabregas..

  54. avenell says:

The £80 million would only go to pay some off Gillete and Hicks’s loan that the had to re-finance in the summer.

The interest must be £30 mill plus a year. No Champions League, high wages they won’t make any profit.

  55. Rasputin says:

Exactly ave, so something has to happen at pool – they may well ‘prostitute themselves’ to middle eastern money. It seems to be the ‘in thing’ in the arab world to own an English premiership side.

  56. JonJon says:

if liverpool had any money and those yanks had any real collateral the stadium they were on about building would have been given the go ahead by now..

they are in deep financial mess and without CL assests will be sold and cutbacks will be made..they only have 2 assets

  57. Rasputin says:

Whatever happens, we would never pay the money for Torres and being realistic, I’d have to agree that we shouldn’t.

Our financial model and stability may well be our undoing someday as we are a much better investment than any of the teams in trouble at the moment.

  58. avenell says:

The only ones left with money are in Abu Dhaby and they already have Man City.. Dubai has collapsed financially there economy is knackered so I doubt if any buisnesses there are in any position to buy a football club.

  59. avenell says:

I had better do some work or Avenell LTD will be collapsing financially too.. 😦

  60. Rasputin says:

It appears then that the only big money left in football comes from TV rights. Although Setanta went bust, I can’t see Sky going the same way – which I suppose means that the power lies in the hands of the media – Murdoch owns us all 😦 😦

  61. JonJon says:

who would want to buy a failing club anyway??

it would cost them double just to clear the debt and triple to rebuild…

just look at ashley at newcastle..hes stuck with them..

hicks and gillete have made noises in the past that they want out..but nobodies come in yet…

    lame ducks

  62. JonJon says:

    seeya ave…

yeah rasp..murdoch pulls all the strings..

but even with the point you made about TV rights applies to liverpool..

if they dont play CL next year and finish way down the table they will lose alot aof games next season..who’ll want to watch them???

sure they’ll still get the manure arsenal chelsea coverage but games against stoke and hull and teams like that liverpool will lose out..

they wont be on telly as much so this seasons failures will have a wider impact on all thier monies coming in..even sponsers…

  63. avenell says:

and if the Dippers don’t play in Europe the fans won’t be able to break into the players houses when they are away and steal there medals and jewelery, therefore the fans won’t be able to afford to go to games..

It’s a knock on effect everywhere..

  64. avenell says:

Haha Chelsea fans are defending John Terry..

    Max a wish lol..

    http://www.bluetinted.co.uk/article-standard.aspx?id=120

  65. avenell says:

    Damn Wolves 2 up.. 😦

  66. London says:

“I enjoyed ur Raspsno joke yesterday”

Rasp, I have been through every one of my comments and I cannot find this. I was a bit worried at first because of my heightend state of merriment when I got home from the game but I noticed that Ave caught the brunt of that. Which comment were you refering to?

  67. Rasputin says:

    Hi London,

I thought it was you, but it may have been JonJon who referred to me as Raspsno…..

I understand you were ‘tired and emotional’ after the relief of yesterday’s result and the performances of some of our less popular players 😆

  68. rico says:

    hello…

  69. Rasputin says:

Hi rico … don’t look at the cricket … it seems we may be capitulating with a middle/late order collapse 😦

  70. rico says:

    What a twurp!!

Huges says he had no idea that he was going to be sacked until after their game yesterday – forgive me you fibber but at the final whistle were you not parading yourself and saying your goodbyes??

Anyway, one down and Rafa should be soon to follow!!

Dippers are in dire straights for more than just their league position, maybe we should be shrewd and make a cheeky bid for Torres – Torres would love to play in the same side as Cesc – who wouldn’t?

  71. rico says:

    Hi Rasp –

1.3 overs to get through to secure the draw, fingers, toes and everything else crossed 😆

  72. rico says:

Is everyone too young to remeber John Hollins??

  73. rico says:

    One over Rasp, one over…..

  74. Rasputin says:

What a plank Pietersen is to get run out 😦

Of course we remember John Hollins – didn’t he play alongside Fat Fwanks dad?

  75. Rasputin says:

Hahahaaaaa – test match a draw …. now come on wham (not George Michael, I’ve gone right off him)

  76. rico says:

He played for us too Rasp, his boy won Strictly last night night 🙂 😆

Dreadful run out Rasp, and Bell needs replacing 😉

Didn’t win win the Ashes after a lucky draw in the first test …. 😛 😛 😛

  77. avenell says:

    West Ham 1 Chavs 0.. 🙂

  78. JonJon says:

    george michaels winning.. 🙂

  79. avenell says:

Rasp.. Not that it matters Hollins was chelsea, arsenal and QPR.. Fwanks dad was West Ham..

  80. avenell says:

John Hollins did an anti-smoking advert standing on the clock end.. after that when he played the song was “he don’t drink, he don’t smoke what does he do?” to the Adam Ant tune.. 🙂

  81. JonJon says:

thats where you lot show your age cos ive never heard of john hollins..only in books…didnt he help moses cross the sea.. 😉

ave i laughed quite alot at you dipper comment..

and yes rasp it was meeeee…

  82. rico says:

I knew that too ave 😉

    How is liitle un??

Great draw Rasp – Come on Ridgeley 😉

  83. rico says:

Does Mrs Ave not watch the dancing ave??

  84. London says:

    Rasp

I think you have hit the nail on the head: it was a great relief; I was dreading another disappointment.

  85. rico says:

JJ- it was Jochebed, he hid him before he swam 😉 😉

  86. rico says:

I missed an ‘S’ off my he, should have read she!! 😳

    Sorry Jochebed

  87. rico says:

    Ballax a cheat!!

  88. avenell says:

    Rico.. She’s fine today thanks..

A bit of strictly and a bit of X factor.. but mainly cooking and not your mate that river cottage bloke.

    Except when Arsenal play.. 🙂

I get her working most of the time.. 😉

  89. JonJon says:

    lol

    wham still doing it right..

  90. JonJon says:

    oh dear…chelsea gifted a pen..good tackle

  91. avenell says:

Officials have gifted the Chavs a penalty ..

  92. JonJon says:

    cheat cheat cheat

  93. avenell says:

  99. rico says:

  100. JonJon says:

parker was the best man on the pitch

  101. rico says:

Feels like it anyway!! But days do seem like months!!

  102. rico says:

    JJ – who cares 😉 🙂 2 points to us 🙂

  103. avenell says:

Yep we are reeling them in win tha game in hand and we are 3 points off top.. If it wasn’t for Mike riley we would only be 2 points off..

I’ve had a bit of a dickie belly but nothing like little one had.. As I said yesterday we have built up some immunity to Mrs ave’s cooking.. 😉

  104. JonJon says:

    ahhh..must have heard me.. 😉

  105. JonJon says:

yeah we are getting closer and closer..

i said a while back if we are within a few points of chelsea by the time the ACN comes around we can take them…

how much do they miss essien..lol

  106. avenell says:

No real mention of the plastic bottle thrown .. when they threw a dummy camera on at the emirates sky wanted the place shut down..

  107. rico says:

Thats a tad cruel on Mrs Ave, ave … 😉

JJ, I agree, the ACON will hit them really hard, just hope Roman doesn’t get his cheque book out…

  108. rico says:

    Everton want Senderos… again!

  109. peachesgooner says:

    Hi all

What a shame West Ham didn’t get all three points, great game I thought……

  110. peachesgooner says:

    Oh wow pink 😛 😀 😆

  111. peachesgooner says:

Hi rico – how are you?

  112. rico says:

Hi peaches, shame Wham couldn’t nab the win though..

  113. peachesgooner says:

Great shame as the chavs penalty wasn’t a penalty 😦

Still the table looks nice and close up at the top doesn’t it …… 😀

  114. rico says:

Grim peaches, but muddling along 😦 Hope your foot is getting a bit stronger..

  115. rico says:

    Got to go now peeps..

    See you all soon….

  116. Big Raddy says:

Fulham were excellent yesterday., yet all we hear is the injury crisis at MU. I really hate the media.

& the AV game grows more and more significant. They are genuine challengers this season. I cannot see a fall like their abysmal form post Feb last season, but we can surely hope.

they look stronger without Barry and Laursen. Just as we do sans Toure and Ade.

As everyone has said, what a signing Dunne has been.

  117. Irishgunner says:

    Morning all,

“We’re catching up, we’re catching up”

Time for a cliche folks: Aston Villa is a six pointer for us. Beat them and our game in hand and we might be tippy top of the table soon.

Chelsea will slip up again and there will be “Ancleotti doesn’t know what he’s doing”, United have no defenders and no creativity without Ronaldo.

So lets get Bendtner, Rosicky, Clichy, Gibbs back, buy a CB and striker and go for it like hell.

  118. avenell says:

    Hi Roadsters..

Kroenke has just bought 25 Arsenal shares.. 17 to go.. will he, won’t he???

  119. JonJon says:

its all very quiet round here..

    is any one about…?

ive been reading arse.com today and wenger is paying tribute to diaby saying he aint a defensive player or a holding player..hes a direct attacking player who likes to dribble..

sort of the same thing weve all been saying for over a year…so why has wenger been playing him out of position as a midfielder for the last god knows how long asking him to do defensive duties when he knows hes an attacker..

its like telling robin to play in front of the back four and then scratching your head as to why hes so shit…

  120. avenell says:

    😯 anyone around?

  121. rico says:

I think that is a no ave 😦

    Evening anyone……

  122. rico says:

Villa up next then, Sunday lunch time, difficult game, win it and maybe people will start to take our challenge a bit more seriously…

  123. rico says:

Hi rico, yeah, beat the Villa good and proper and we open a little gap up below us – it will be very hard, but Cesc should be back and if Diaby plays as well as he did in the second half against Hull, we may just get a great result..

The Hull game, second half I mean, was the best I have seen Diaby play in a long while..

  124. rico says:

    rico

would love to chat, but its only us so go and enjoy a peaceful evening…

  125. rico says:

    ok rico, nighty night

  126. avenell says:

That’s the keyword rico… peaceful.. Night.

  127. Rasputin says:

    Hi Roadsters,

Sorry I haven’t been around much – had a range of ‘troubles’ to deal with (multiple burst pipes being the least!)

I see Arsene is making noises about buying a striker again – with the caveat ‘if someone suitable is available’ – suggests to me that there a particular player in his mind.

And…. RVP to be considered out for the season 😦
I just hope the Dutch FA/manager do not play him before fully recovered in the WC

  128. Rasputin says:

That last comment was suppoosed to say ” suggests to me that there ISN’T a particular player in his mind 😳

  129. Rasputin says:

Is AR closed for Christmas? 🙄

  130. avenell says:

We’ll find out Rasp.. NEW POST..

  131. rico says:

    Hi Rasp

Sorry to hear about your troubles 😦 Hope you manage to get them all sorted and the big day doesn’t get ruined 😦

I reckon he is going to buy Rasp, another AA kind of a deal, but just hope it is done and dusted at the beginning of the window rather that the day after it closes 😉

In fact, I have a sneaky feeling we will buy two players, and sell one.
