Snow Cesc, Snow Balls, Snow Chance

Those dirty paupers from Oop Norf visit the emirates today with a lot of resentment still burning over from last season..I dont care what that lying piece of work Phil Brown says, they will be looking to put one over on us after what happened last season in the ‘spitgate’ debarcle..Tensions will be high and Hull will be up for this, after all  they did beat us here last season it what proved to be an embarrassing result, seeing as though Hull are a poor side..

We need our boys to do the same. We need them to match Hulls resentment attitude. They need to be up for it big time. Our two most influential creative players are out for this one so chances maybe hard to come by with a midfield of Denilson, Song, Diaby and maybe eboue..its fair to say the crab style will observed today so we need to show we can win the battle in the midfield and then hope Arshavin can produce a moment of brilliance to change the game in our favor..Hes still injured, but he’ll still play, so I advise the lads to get stuck in, do the dirty work for 90mins and when the ball is won just pass it to him to hit it..

Its going to be a tight game I feel..the weather does us no favors, neither do our injuries..therefore we need the boys to dig deep today.we need them to close down, go for the 50-50’s and do their best to win that second ball, becuase if they don’t then the chances are Hull will dominate, close us out, break and score, especially with Almunia in the worst form of his life…So i’d like him dropped for todays game..Theo should also be dropped, his attitude and body language has been terrible and the game against Burnley was one of the worst ive ever seen from an outfield player, we need a player who applies himself to the cause so I hope Theo is applied to the bench..

Team selection is a bit difficult seeing as though we seem to have more casualties than WW1, but we still have more quality than Hull…Which isn’t hard..Our ladies have more quality than Hull, today isnt about quality though it’s about commitment, focus, and a determined will to win at all costs…they owe us that after the Burnley performance and this time they have the fans to help them, so theres no excuses..I want to see crunching tackles, 100% work rate, close marking and closing down…we do that and the quality will shine through..

I’m going for 1-0 with AA the scorer..

Without Cesc we have little chance of creating so it socks up,dig deep, work hard and shoot on sight..One of them must go in…

Come on lads no excuses…

    Morning JonJon 😉

You’ve said it all in your post – well done!

The predicted midfield for this game lacks the attributes you are calling for so I hope there is a miracle and they make up for their shortcomings with energy, aggression and passion as you say….

As usual, I’ve just put the last comment on the previous post so I’ll reproduce it here if you don’t mind

    “Morning Roadsters,

Typical Wenger …. after initially saying that he may have to dip into the transfer market in January, he’s now pretty much said that he won’t be buying any players, despite the fact that our injury situation has worsenened in the meantime. The ‘new players – Rosicky and Dudu, were a smokescreen…. Why does he bother? He is the most predictable manager in the prem. What is the point in making statements that raise expectation only to destroy that hope shortly afterwards?”

  2. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Snow way 😆

  3. JonJon says:

    morning raspsnow, 😉

yeah it sounds like wenger isnt going to buy anyone.. ive also read his comments on focusing on debt and football is hit by the recession and nobody will buy in seems that same comment from him comes out every transfer window and its just another way of saying we arent buying anyone, but i am looking.. hes trying to appease the fans who want signings but being honest at the same time…

as for the game i think its all about diaby and song, they do have the attributes, physically anyway, its up to them to lead the boys and let the domino affect ave talks about take its natural course..

if diaby decides he wants to crunch then hes more than capable, its the workrate and the intelligance that concerns me with him..he needs to fully focas today..

TV would be very useful in this role in the middle but im afraid we need him at the back too much at the minute

  4. London says:

    Morning Snowsters

    Good read JJ

I suppose I will go with the Wenger spin: two away games in the space of a week; we almost certainly would have taken four points before if offered. The one thing we probably didn’t take into account was that Burnley were much better and Liverpool far worse than expected.

On the subject of clutching at straws, have you noticed how much better Diaby plays when Fabregas isn’t playing? My only guess as to why it works is that he knows that with Song and Denilson sitting behind him, he is released from all defensive responsibility and is then free to bound forward which if he has one strength that we all recognise, it is that.

  5. Rasputin says:

I guess you’re right JonJon, they do have the attributes but seldom use them. I’m beginning to think that the whole thing about Wengerball is a myth. Adebayor didn’t fit in the mould and Diaby is one of the worst passers of the ball I’ve ever seen in an Arsenal shirt. Even if he does win the ball with a ‘crunching tackle’ he’s more than likely to give it straight back to Hull.

I don’t agree that Wenger is trying to appease the fans. I think he’s just buying time and trying to take the heat off for a while. He’s too intelligent to keep changing his mind that quickly….. he’s known all along he wouldn’t buy and is just playing games. I for one, and completely fed up with it and won’t believe a word he says regarding transfers in the future.

  6. JonJon says:

haha london. the puns and one liners were going to be hard to avoid i feel on a day such as today..

    good point about diaby..

also, if we look at the whole picture, if someone would have offered us 4 points from the liverpool burnley away fixtures we’d have probably said yes..only the point would have been at youve pointed out..

lol rasp,i gave up on that along time ago..but i think the area we really need a player at the minute is uptop…if nikki comes back and finds his feet early we should be ok,hes more than capable of playing the target man,he has the attributes and dudu and vela seem to enjoy playing off him so they could find form we could get 3 in form strikers without having to buy anyone…GK is another issue but fabianski hasnt been given a proper go yet so i cant see a keeper coming in either..

  7. Rasputin says:

I agree with the need for a target man up front JonJon, but it is the frailty of the defence that concerns me. When you consider how good Gallas and TV are, there must be something drastically wrong elsewhere for us to be so shaky at the back. The obvious ansewr is the keeper, but maybe there are other contributing factors?

  8. JonJon says:

whats the most likely team line up today…who do we play and where??? i purposely left it out in an attempt to get ppls ideas and thinking cos i honestly dont have a clue what the team will be..

  9. JonJon says:

the answer is the keep rasp, but also part of the blame has to be the way we defend as a team..the midfeild have allowed ppl to run through them recently and our fullbacks have allowed the crosses to fly in…our CBs have been bombarded with pressure and counter attacks and when your keeper is flapping at everything it makes their job harder…i think they are doing an exceptional job and the rest of the team need a kick up the arse…

when we play denilson and song its supposed to make us more solid but the pressure still comes…they dont work hard enough and they are too attack minded, they need to pack it in and sit back more…

  10. London says:

To me the team is easier than recently because of injuries.

Although, Diaby and Nasri could be the other way around.

  11. JonJon says:

i think manure will drop points today…they are away at fulham and they have no defenders, even vidic maybe 50-50

zamora although a piss poor finisher should have alot of fun playing them

  12. JonJon says:

i agree london diaby and nasri should be the other way round..

    but walcott??? and almunia??

    do you trust them??

id rather dudu and fabianski start..

id even put eboue in for denilson

  13. JonJon says:

    sagan gallas TV traore/silvestre???
    eboue song nasri
    diaby dudu

  14. JonJon says:

    is clichy available today?

  15. rico says:

Wondered why snowbody was on the old post, forgot to press the home button!

Morning all, great post JJ and just love the headline…

Not looking forward to tonights game one little bit, at least it’s on ESPN I suppose…

  16. rico says:

    Snowbody here either now 😦

  17. JonJon says:

    lol rico

good not feeling too confident either to be honest..after the burnley game i just cant see what these group of players have to offer to beat hull..

its all about AA i feel..but hes got a niggle and he needs the ball..its upto the others to get him it and without cesc i cant see whos going to do it…too many players are off form or just arent good enough

theos gotta pull his sox up..players of theos hype should be tearing hull to bits but i just dont see it..

  18. JonJon says:

and im not happy about jack going out on loan..if he wants games then give him theos place and let theo go out on loan..

  19. rico says:

    Morning JJ

Brown certainly won’t have a problem getting his players up for today, just hope Arson can match it..

I think every player has to step up today, not only Theo, but yes him especially!

  20. JonJon says:

there really is no excuses today rico, we are at home and hull have immense shitness, injuries or not we have enough to beat them but do the players want it??

  21. avenell says:

Morning Snowploughs.. (before the Roasters can get through)

    Good read jonjon.

Perhaps Arsene is going to loan players to every team except Wolves to help wolves go down..

Theo needs to be punished and sit on the bench and earn a place in the team and not walk straight in.. Diaby too.

Fabinaski has to sit and wait.. Vela has played better than Theo, he has to wait.

  22. JonJon says:

what i think we need today is a spudsv wigan style big score ass whooping with theo diaby dudu vela all gettin amonst the goals…

give aston villa something to think about…that game will be tough..we need to go into it on form and full of confidence cos at the moment villa are playing well and we are not so they will fancy themselves…

we say this evry week but this game is massive.. 😉

  23. avenell says:

If Theo scores Wenger will never drop him… nooooo.

Just a 1-0 from a Arshavin goal will do..

  24. JonJon says:

thats what i dont get with wenger ave,

whats fabianski waiting for?? its obvious to stevie wonder that mannys in a downward spiral, so why persist with him…

wenger wants consistency but he wont get in playing the players everyweek that dont do the business, same with theo..

its practically starting the game with 9 men..

  25. avenell says:

I’m dreading today. the team selection is going to piss me off I know it is.. we are in the same boat as we was this time last year..

  26. JonJon says:

yup…not looking forward to it at all..

i cant see us keeping a clean sheet and i cant see us scoring either..

    1-0 will do

  27. Rasputin says:

    Morning ave,

I agree about the team selection 😦 We’ve been here many times before.

We don’t have a fantastic choice of players at the moment and what we do have is very similar and mostly out of form. we could conceivably get 16 points out of the next 18 if we are truly a top 4 side, but Wengerball won’t do it.

They no longer have the youth excuse. They are all experienced players earning fantastic wages … they need to earn their money and the respect of other premiership teams over these next few games.

  28. avenell says:

    Morning Rasp..

I’m just glad Bullard isn’t playing..
How sad is that when you are pleased that Hull are not fielding there best side?

  29. JonJon says:

    im concerned about nasri too..

hes out of form, and with cesc out hes another ud expct to step up but i havent seen anything from him yet either…

  30. JonJon says:

    sign of the times ave..

we should still win today but im not expecting a supershow…come kickoff theres going to be a lot of foul mouthed comments on here.. 😉

  31. avenell says:

I think Nasri’s okay.. He just needs the other 10 outfield players to play well too. as soon as Theo, Diaby and Denilson play his form goes down like Cescs.

We need all 10 outfield players defending.

  32. Rasputin says:

The whole concept of relying on fullbacks to go forward (especially when they can’t cross the ball for toffee) is flawed if the covering midfielders are lacking in pace (Song) and can’t read the game (Diaby) We leave huge gaps on the flanks at the back when we attack and all it takes is for Diaby (and Cesc a few times lately) to give the ball away and the opposition are attacking us with 4 against 3. Often we give away free kicks close to our box as a result and we all know how poorly we defend set pieces. We have very little width without the fullbacks coming forward, but that leaves us vulnerable in defence.

  33. Rasputin says:

The policy of buying/developing small clever midfielders who only perform at their best when played centrally is like playing chess with 8 bishops and no castles – we can only go in one direction!!

  34. JonJon says:

maybe its situations like this where wenger should go with londons theory and push TV in the midfield

  35. Rasputin says:

Who’s gonna play LB today? I assume Sylvestre will get the nod…..

  36. avenell says:

I’m not always sure if it’s lack of pace from the midfield. They just don’t pick up the spare man or just waltz back with no conviction.. They don’t want to track back. That’s why TV gave away the penalty against Burnley.. Diaby just let the player go.

I know we keep harping on about him but that is what Flamini always did well..

  37. Rasputin says:

True ave, you can sort of forgive Diaby for not reading the game – he’s just thick, but the lack of effort and apparent lethargy is inexcusable.

  38. peachesgooner says:

    Morning guys 🙂

  39. JonJon says:

rasp those two comments are whats wrong at the minute, although its like ave says its not so much a lack of pace but a lack of intelligence, desire and focus

the first 10 yards are in the players head..diabys thick and cant be arsed and denilson has problems picking up the play…when the balls infront of him hes fine but its when it gets stretched hes found wanting…
song does well but he cant be everywhere at the same time…
the fullbacks suffer, the CBs suffer its like a knock on effect..

  40. peachesgooner says:

Good rant rasp at 12.11, what I’ve noticed recently is that we’re not really playing as a team – if something good comes off its more by luck than judgement….

  41. Rasputin says:

Good analysis JonJon – we’re lowly bloggers ….why can’t the boss see it? I’d hate to think that players like TV, AA and Cesc will eventually lose heart because they feel they are carrying the rest of the team.

  42. JonJon says:

and its made worse by the fact the keepers heads in cloud cukoo land and he couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery…

the CBs are having to play FB, CB ,sweeper all at the same time and we wonder why we cant keep a clean sheet…

    morning peaches

  43. peachesgooner says:

…..even when we had chances the other night against Burnley they weren’t team chances – there was no back up from the mid-field. We’re playing like a poor side 😦

  44. Rasputin says:

Hi peaches … I’m just going out to hell on earth (Xmas shopping) so won’t be around til later….

Last thought. It’s bizarre that we pride ourselves on having the best midfielders around and yet, the main problems are in the midfield….. or maybe the GK and lack of a CF 😳

  45. peachesgooner says:

Nevertheless I shll be donning my thermals, furry hat and scarf to go and watch what I hope will be the return of Arsenal……..Nasri likes playing at the Emirates so he should be ok.

Is Eboue still injured – we give him a rousing welcome now at least he plays with heart and desire…….

  46. peachesgooner says:

I agree rasp the problems look like they’re in the middle of the park because we don’t seem to be able to control that area…….but confidence radiates out from the back and I feel that Almunias light headedness is making it difficult for everyone

  47. JonJon says:

also the problem we have with playing denilson and song is that they both bomb forward and struggle to get back..

they are both in there to hold and protect but neither of them do..and neither of them are creative enough so we lose out at both ends of the pitch..

the problem with like likes of diaby song and denilson is that they all play ok when the have players like rosicky cesc robin AA around them..with song being the stand out of the three..but take those creative players away and let them all play together and not only are we defensively weak but we are weak in attack too…

we could play our best team and still leak goals cos its just the way it is…but as long as the creative players play we do alright…
at the start of the season we were still conceeding but we were scoring for fun, take those creative players away and you take those goals away and were in trouble…

which is sort of whats happening now..

  48. avenell says:

Last year when we had a bad spell.. It was when we didn’t defend as a team.

We played Ade, Theo, Denilson and Diaby.. None defend from the front..

At the start of this season we got off to a flyer RvP, AA, Rosicky Nasri and Fabregas all put a stint in..

Now we have lost the momentum of that type of play as last years lazy players come back in..

As for Ramsey perhaps we could get Nike to design our shirts like the Welsh ones then he might look like the player he is for them.

  49. avenell says:

10 outfield players need to close down 10 opponents. as soon as Theo doesn’t bother that means one of our players have 2 to deal with. When Diaby lets a player go that’s another player roaming.

In the end the players we have who want to put a shift in are getting pulled out of position and making rash tackles like TV did Wednesday..

  50. JonJon says:

yeah ave i still dont think ramseys ready, he has his moments but i wouldnt even play him today with cesc out..

a big problem with denilson is like what youve touched on just then, i tried to make that point before..

when he sits back and he can see the play hes not too bad..when he has the chance to intercept he will, but he doesnt close down, he backs off…once the play starts to become stretched we need him to get stuck in and track back and huslte and close down, he doesnt cos closing down isnt his game..rather than forcing the opponent into a mistake he waits for it and thats why we get over run sometimes when he plays..but in fairness hes not alone, like you say theo and diaby dont wanna know either, so thats three players out of the game already when we dont have the ball..

  51. JonJon says:

and then we have the other players having to run around like nutters which as you say leads to bad challenges and mistakes..

  52. JonJon says:

its why i keep saying sagna plays poorly without eboue, cos eboues the only one who gets back to help him, but in doing that we lose an attacker…

  53. JonJon says:

i hate it when we start this discussion cos it always leads back to flamini.. 😆

he was so underated for what he did…and yet ppl would rather have denilson over him.. amazing..

  54. peachesgooner says:

There was a time when we were happy for the opposition to have possession because we knew they would lose it and we would pounce…….also when chances to score went begging it wasn’t a problem because we knew there would be more but now when the team aren’t playing well it looks like we waste possession and squander goal-scoring chances.

  55. peachesgooner says:

Not me – I always thought Flamini worked hard and loved playing with Cesc…..

When my avatar pops up I’m still surprised its the legs 🙂

  56. avenell says:

Steady on there Peaches.. Don’t talk about things like that and your legs in the same sentance.. 😉

  57. JonJon says:

pompey have just scored..get in lol

  58. JonJon says:

reina beat on near post but in fairness is was a thunderbolt..

  59. JonJon says:

    pmsl ave..

yeah peaches we have no stability at the minute, its like the players know they cant defend..

or attack… but weve been picking up the points still so lets hope we have a convincing performance today

  60. peachesgooner says:

    ave :oops::oops:

  61. peachesgooner says:

Its weird we’re moaning about performance and yet we’re third……if we’d been playing dream football and were third we’d be quite happy with our lot…..

  62. peachesgooner says:

How’s your sick-bay ave – is your little’un feeling better today?

  63. JonJon says:

yeah peaches were still third, and weve picked up points by playing like poo.. card for masch..

  64. JonJon says:

    rafa notebooks

you think hes writing up a CV..

  65. avenell says:

Yeah were back to nearly normal thanks Peaches..

Her food isn’t like Newcastle any more. 😉

  66. avenell says:

    Portsmouth 2 up..

    “sign on” “sign on” lol…

  67. avenell says:

The Dippers are going to do a Newcastle next year.. sack Rafa and go into free fall ..

  68. JonJon says:

    then we take torres????

  69. JonJon says:

or we take torres this summer..

  70. JonJon says:

just need fulham to do a job on manure now…

then its upto us again..better not let us down today..

  71. avenell says:

I just saw the goals .. If that was Almunia he would have got a caning for them..

Near post and one through reina’s legs..

Most keepers are shit.. I thing we analize ours too much sometimes. I’m not saying Almunia’s great but is there any if you watch them every game?

That young France keeper looks okay, but then again I only saw him against a team that wasn’t good enough to qualify for the World cup..

  72. Big Raddy says:

Torres would love it at THOF.

    I would take Agger too.

Looking forward to a decent performance today. And at least one of Totts, MU & AV to drop points

  73. JonJon says:

yeah reina was shit today and cechs shit all the time…but almunia has big big problems…

no keepers perfect but its best to have one whos heads in the right place..

  74. JonJon says:

    hi raddy..

i havent seen enough of agger..but torres would have a field day playing in our team..

i think manure will drop points today..away at fulham and no defence

  75. JonJon says:

    get in…fulham 1-0

  76. avenell says:

If Man U lose that makes McCarthy look even more stupid..

  77. avenell says:

    Sunderland 2-2 nice!

  78. JonJon says:

    stoke beating villa

  79. JonJon says:

    tossers have ruled it out..

  80. avenell says:

We cannot have 2 good weekends on the trot can we.. 🙂

  81. peachesgooner says:

Shhhhhh avenell don’t break the spell 😆

  82. London says:

I know and to a certain extent I understand when we are accused of suffering from delusions of grandeur but, although, we may have our problems but they are nothing compared to those of Liverpool.

  83. JonJon says:

i know london liverpool are f@cked

    mancity 3-2

dont care as long as manure lose..

  84. JonJon says:

and we win of course.. 😉

  85. London says:

I’m preparing my ski wear for the game…..and it is live on warm cosy TV…..Hhhhhmmmmmm

  86. JonJon says:

    warm cosy tv london 😉

  87. avenell says:

Because the Dippers lost to Pompey, Rico’s stat that Liverpool are as many points off the top as they are the bottom comes back into play.. lost 7 lol..

  88. JonJon says:

and it was supposed to be our year to drop out of the top..pmsl..

luckypools luck has officially ran out..

  89. peachesgooner says:

London – I was just thinking the same thing 😆

  90. avenell says:

Spuds 1 up.. 😦 from a shot so bad by fatso that the ball never made it out for a goal kick..

  91. avenell says:

Peaches/London Your getting complacent with those tickets. You don’t know how privliged you are.. Put a short sleeved Arsenal shirt on and go and back the team..

  92. JonJon says:

apparently crouch bearhugged the defender before he scored but the ref let it stand..

  93. peachesgooner says:

    Complacent moi 😛

Get on a train ave as the man once said … 😆

  94. avenell says:

Peaches.. I would need that De Lorean from back to the future to get to see the game..

And it was in added, added time JJ.. 1 min the 4th official said..

  95. avenell says:

I would arrive in paddington at 9.32 if I was on the platform at Truro this second.. any good?

  96. JonJon says:

yeah you bad naughty fans…you should feel ashamed of yourselves..

all the real fans from outerspace would jump at the chance to go to a game and stand in the cold and catch a cold

you dont know your born.. 😆

    2-0 fulham

  97. London says:

I hope MaCathy feels a right twat

  98. avenell says:

    Hahaha 2-0 Fulham…

  99. avenell says:

Even my stream is delayed in reaching me. 🙂

  100. avenell says:

    ManU are unbeatable Mick..

  101. JonJon says:

    london he is one anyway..

manure get a three point start and still wont win the league…

mcarthy should be up in the dock 8aiiiiiiii states that no team must field a weakened side at any competitive premier league game without reasonable excuse..

so unless he can prove 10 of his 1st teamers were miraculously injured then he should be f@cked

  102. JonJon says:

    3-3 city…

lol…millions spent and still cant defend

king kolo was a real buy wasnt he..tosser

  103. avenell says:

    Sunderland 3.. 🙂

  104. avenell says:

    Villa 1 up though.. 😦

  105. avenell says:

Villa could end up just 2 points behind the great ManU tonight if it stays like this..

  106. avenell says:

    Man City 4 now.. 😦

  107. JonJon says:

villa are forcing the issue this year…but will they crumble like last year in the latter stages?? or have they learned their lesson..cos if they keep up the pace they could make third…

  108. JonJon says:

    3-0 fulham.. lol

we need to thump hull and get the goal difference advantage in the bag already…

  109. avenell says:

    Haha 3-0.. 3-0.. Fulham.. 🙂

  110. JonJon says:

mcarthey you wanker..i hope burnley totally do u lot over u bellend..

    hodgson you legend.. 😉

  111. avenell says:

  112. avenell says:

We can’t let these results go 2 weeks on the trot.. If we are not fired up today I’m going to be pissed off..

lets see how mentally tough they are…

  115. Davi says:

    Hi guys.
Walcott finally got dropped, and eduardo is back in – I think vela deserves to play more than eduardo, but edu might have more effect if he plays from the wing than he has had as a lone striker..

  116. avenell says:

I believe we have belief.. 😉

  117. avenell says:

Hi Davi.. I am happy with that.. at least wenger reconizes how bad walcott has been..

  118. JonJon says:

    whats the lineup davi??

  119. avenell says:

Not so happy with Denilson Song and Diaby though…

  120. Davi says:

It’s Al, eboue, gallas, TV, silvestre, song, diaby, denilson, nasri, eduardo, arshavin
We’ll see have to see how they line up though

  121. JonJon says:

    i agree with ave..

wonder who the captain is..AA? TV?

  122. Davi says:

I think denilson, song, diaby could work – they’ll be forced to take extra responsibility hopefully.
It depends a bit on what roles they are given too. Wenger said denilson can replace cesc, which i suppose means he will be allowed to go forward more – something he can be very effective at.
I think diaby is being told to concentrate more on defending, again something he *can* be pretty good at if hes up for it.

  123. avenell says:

    Manny perhaps..

  124. rico says:

    Evening peeps

Cant believe both Manure and ‘Pool lost, ha bloomin ha, mind you I did get great pleasure asking a dipper fan this afternoon how Pompey got on 🙂 Can you believe she and her hubby came to see our pups and dropped one of them 😦 😦 She is ok though, thank the Lord….

  125. avenell says:

Cannot agree about Diaby.. he is our worse defensive midfield player if you count Theo as a forward..

  126. avenell says:

You had a bindipper round.. 😯 have you checked to make sure your video and silverware are still in place?

  127. JonJon says:

    yeah diaby cant defend..

if mannys the captain then i’ll do my nut

    hi rico,,aww poor puppy

  128. Davi says:

Yeh, Im thinking Wenger has told diaby to concentrate on the defensive side more.
You could see denilson was told to do that last season as, after his early goalscoring form, he stopped attacking almost completely and concentrated on sitting and trying to break up attacks more.
On diaby, I always go back to that AZ game as an example of how he should play for us. He was flying in with tackles, and formed a very tough shield alongside song which meant we dominated a pretty decent AZ midfield.

  129. JonJon says:

    manny is the captian..bollox..

  130. JonJon says:

diabys too attack minded to defend. hes abit lazy, for a big lad he doesnt put himself about enough..

hopefully song and denilson will hold and diaby will be allowed to roam free behind the striker…thats where i feel he is at his best..

  131. JonJon says:

here we go…come on boys give em hell

  132. avenell says:

Young Barmby will give diaby the runaround..

  133. avenell says:

hope that cold wind isn’t blowing into London or Peaches faces.. 😉

  134. JonJon says:

OMG..cesc wearing a hoody and a hat..somebody phone the police quick..

  135. Davi says:

well diaby does look more mature with his beard

  136. Davi says:

    JonJon – lol

  137. avenell says:

I was going to watch it down the pub but it’s too cold to go out..

  138. avenell says:

    Diaby is shit ffs..

  139. JonJon says:

diabys made three fuckups already..3mins gone

  140. avenell says:

I must of missed one. .

  141. JonJon says:

he looks like Viv anderson davi

  142. Davi says:

ive seen two – not a big deal tho?

  143. JonJon says:

hes in the lineup ave..thats the first one

  144. avenell says:

But he never makes up for them .. I could handle it if he did something good.. just once.. please..

  145. JonJon says:

the second was a big deal cos allowed them a free shot on goal…we need to cut out those errors not put chances on a plate…

  146. avenell says:

What’s the point of crosses with Arshavin on the end of them?

  147. JonJon says:

anyone think hull have started better??

  148. avenell says:

Gallas still thinks long ball to Ade is the answer.. he obviously doesn’t trust the midfield already..

  149. JonJon says:

if we are going to cross they need to be whipped in along the point putting them in the air..nobodies gonna get them

  150. JonJon says:

that was alot better..but i wish song would shoot..

  151. rico says:

7.30pm tonight Citeh are having a press conference, Hughes is in for the sack 😛

  152. rico says:

Ave – 🙂 😉 all still in place..

  153. Davi says:

I dont want hughes to be sacked, especially if his replacement is hiddink!
Hes the only manager Id want if wenger were to leave

  154. avenell says:

That will teach him to win…. lol..

Buy another load of players, keep the other lot coz no one will match there wage demands.. same old story..

  155. rico says:

Davi – rumour is Mancinni, so i have been told, he was in the crowd today…

  156. avenell says:

another manager wenger has seen out..

Wave to him Arsene, like he did to you..

  157. Davi says:

Mancini’s a bit of an unknown still. Anyone could win serie a with that inter squad

  158. JonJon says:

a long shot or a set peice is the only way we are going to score…

same story as this time last year…

  159. Rasputin says:

    Almunia captain??? that’s pathetic Arsene.

Does our esteemed manager really think that Almunia will reurn to his mediocre peak because he’s been made captain? Should have been TV all day. I’m sick of Arsene’s mind games – make the biggest liability in the side captain – that’s bollox

  160. avenell says:

Are you sure denilson is Brazilian?

  161. JonJon says:

    totally agree rasp..

  162. Davi says:

Rasputin – almunia is one our “big personalities”. He’s someone the others look up to a bit off the pitch from what I’ve heard.
His being made captain today is nothing to do with giving him extra confidence or his gk skills.

  163. JonJon says:

ave do you remember what friere said about denilson in brazil…he said nobodies even heard of him and hes way way down on dungas list of players…

    brazilians know their footballers…

  164. rico says:

    This is shocking!!

Are we playing Barca or bloomin Hull !!!!!!!

  165. Davi says:

denilson left sao paulo before he broke into the 1st team. Wasnt he captain of one of their youth teams???
And gilberto and edu werent obvious “brazil-style” players but still good…

  166. avenell says:

He’s been over here since he was 6 coz they haven’t heard of him..
I wish I hadn’t.. I thought he was going to be great 3 years ago .. what’s happened?

  167. Davi says:

Denilson has played for and captained Brazil at every level since he was a member of the under-15 squad.[12] In November 2006, Denílson was called up to the Brazilian national side for a friendly match

  168. JonJon says:

yeah davi..he was captain of their under 3’s or something like that..

  169. Irishgunner says:

The streams are absolute crap but really don’t know if I want to watch it anyway …. it seems Shitty are sacking Hughes for less IMO…

    oh hello all.

  170. Davi says:

that was wikipedia btw, shoulda used “s

  171. avenell says:

and they play Baptista in the full team.. They are not a patch on the old Brazilian sides..

  172. Rasputin says:

If that’s your opinion Davi, who am I to try to dissuade you? In my opinion, he is the main reason our defence looks so nervy. He doesn’t command his area. He will cost us upwards of 9 points this season and for all those reasons – he should not be captain. He should not be on the pitch …. Fabianski is currently a better keeper.

  173. Davi says:

anyway, our problems arent so much with the midfield today, we dont have anyone with pace and movement to stretch the defence… vela???
certainly dont want walcott up there atm

  174. JonJon says:

i knew this was going to be a close game..i said it in the post..every time song diaby denilson and eboue play together we play shit and we cant create…

  175. Rasputin says:

They are strolling around with no sesne of urgency. The manager looks far more concerned than the players. This kind of malaise has cost us games this season.

  176. Irishgunner says:

    Avenell 8)

  177. Davi says:

Rasp, I wasnt commenting on almunias talent as a keeper, I was just saying I dont think that you’re correct in assuming wenger has made him captain just to give him more confidence.

  178. rico says:

See, my source is good, ESPN have confirmed the rumours – well I did suggest he would be gone by Christmas…

    And we are still dire!!!

  179. avenell says:

Irish .. this is the best I can find about my 30th time of trying…

  180. avenell says:

What’s the riot for???? crashed stream.. 😦

  181. Irishgunner says:

That keeps freezing too Avenell, they are all crap 😦

  182. Davi says:

“why does almunia have to get involved?” – cos hes the captain today! idiot

  183. rico says:

    😦 😦 😦 😦

  184. JonJon says:

nasri stepped on garcias foot barmby pushed nasri in the face and it all went off..

  185. avenell says:

    Who got the booking??

  186. JonJon says:

    nasri and hunt

    barmby got off

  187. Irishgunner says:

you need the software but at least it works, takes a minute to download

  188. avenell says:

    Song sorted Hunt

  189. JonJon says:

im sorry to say that our squad isnt strong enough when the injuries take their toll…

we need a couple of players in january and if we stick with what weve got we’ll finish in the top four but we wont win the league

  190. Rasputin says:

Davi, I don’t think he should be captain for any reason … he shouldn’t be on the pitch….its adding insult to injury to make him captain … oh, but I forgot we reward failure with hefty contracts etc.

Don’t tale it personaly Davi … I’m just ranting 🙄

  191. avenell says:

    He is Brazilian!!!!!

  192. Irishgunner says:

Great strike ha ha Denilson 😆

  193. Davi says:

despite the foot stamp, barmby must be another great example of how english players never dive

btw denilson is brazilian – fuck you! (kidding)

  194. avenell says:

Was it a free kick though??

  195. Rasputin says:

Replay shows that Nasri stamped on the heel of their player (it wasn’t Hunt) and may have got a straight red if the officials had seen.

  196. JonJon says:

    so he is brazilian

  197. Irishgunner says:

Our Russian is a fighter ha ha

  198. Davi says:

Rasp – I wasnt taking it personally, I tried to explain myself cos I thought you were. No worries mate 🙂

  199. Davi says:

    No it wasnt a free-kick.
We got a bit lucky there. The ref has been shocking for both teams tho.

  200. JonJon says:

    sorry ave computers slow..

    hey irish…

one nil up and a punch up in the tunnel…love it…go get em boys…

  201. avenell says:

We are bound to get retrospective punishment for this we always do..

  202. JonJon says:

davi i absolutely love it when a player shoves something down my throat cos it normally means hes done something special..and that was a peach…

have we found our free kick taker…when was the last time we scored one???

cos robin normally takes them and he hasnt scored from one in 3 years

  203. Davi says:

I used to like hull’s players, I just thought their manager was a classless attention whore. Looks like hes rubbed off on them a bit.
Seriously, what nasri did was pretty bad, but why the dive? And then the punch up over it, how often does that happen over such a minor incident?

The ref has been awful. Given too many freekicks he didnt have to.

  204. avenell says:

Diaby is still shit though.. He hasn’t proved us wrong.. 😉

  205. JonJon says:

fuck the punishment…worry about it later..make sure they throw the first punch (barmby) and then kick their heads in…

it will be funny if the players came out for second half with bumps and bruises…

like footy used to be… 😉

  206. avenell says:

Makes Cesc want to spit doesn’t it?

  207. Davi says:

JonJon – I have no idea how good denilson actually is at freekicks. I always have the feeling with him he does possess a really good long shot, but it just doesnt come off that often, mainly cos of the confidence he has to hit them. Rosicky is the same for us. Hes scored like 1 or 2, but before he joined he had a reputation as someone who could hit them…
Van persie is one of the best when it comes to delivering a ball into the box for others, but flatters to deceive when shooting I suppose.

  208. Rasputin says:

For the second time recently (wham and Burnley) we are in front at half time. How much will these players have learnt from those experiences I wonder? We are likely to get chances early in the second half. We score a couple and the game is over, we miss chances and their confidence will grow and we will be under the pressure and most likely concede.

  209. Irishgunner says:

    Hiya Jonjon 😀

That was inch perfect by Denilson, have to give it to him, great strike.

This will blow over yet into a red card …. and Phil Brown’s tan will go brighter orange..

  210. JonJon says:

we spent years fighting with manure and it showed our desire…and we won trophies doing it..

ive missed those battles and now ive seen it again…excellent..we do have fight..good to see…

  211. Davi says:

    avenell – Lol
On diaby, theres still time :). Hopefully they’ll all improve 2nd half. Almost everyone has been pretty poor to be fair.

  212. Irishgunner says:

1831: BREAKING NEWS: Manchester City have confirmed the sacking of manager Mark Hughes, and announced the appointment of Roberto Mancini as his replacement.

  213. Rasputin says:

We’ve been 1 nil up against Hull at the Emirates before 😦 This game is following the same pattern so far. We do not deserve to be in front so we have to pay considerably better in the second half and will probably need a second goal.

  214. avenell says:

2nd half? or second half of the season or second half of his career?

  215. JonJon says:

rasp i think we have this..we usually conceed cos we think were strolling but this game has fight written all over it…

they be up for it in the second half…i hope so anyway they should be..i am..i cant wait…

yeah irish brown will probably say gunnersaurus did a dino-turd on his sandels…and a report will be sent to the FA

  216. avenell says:

Man City will hope to finish in the top 4 this season but as long as there is improvement they will be happy.. lol

  217. JonJon says:

    poor mark hughes…

  218. Irishgunner says:

    deserved a goal there Eddie

  219. JonJon says:

that was brilliant shame about the finish

  220. Davi says:

What the hell has happened to eduardo’s finishing????
    Awesome touch though

  221. Rasputin says:

    Latest news….

Harry Rednap is to face legal proceedings over a tax issue. The cops weren’t happy the way he sued them last time, they,ve been looking to get him ever since. Didn’t they do Capone for tax evasion?

  222. JonJon says:

i think it was his wrong foot davi but still no excuse, should of finished that..he had plenty of time

  223. rico says:

    Poor Hughes indeed !!! 😆

Is that peaches in the yellow jacket 😉

  224. rico says:

    This is a bit better…

  225. rico says:

    Rasp, good old ‘Arry 😉

  226. avenell says:

He has to pay for the Spud christmas party somehow..

  227. rico says:

    Ebooooooooue 😉

  228. Irishgunner says:

I have a good stream Avenell thanks

Silvestre looks like he wants a fight ha ha

  229. JonJon says:

    no fucking way…

  230. Rasputin says:

    Oh well done Sylvestre …

  231. JonJon says:

    manny i love you…

  232. rico says:

    ALMUNIA >>>>>

  233. Rasputin says:

    Watch our confidence crumble now…..

  234. avenell says:

    Englands no1, England, england’s no1…

  235. Irishgunner says:

Agh come on it happens 10000000000000 times a game

  236. Davi says:

  237. Irishgunner says:

    😆 take that pricks

  238. Rasputin says:

He’still crap … but just for this moment I love him 😉

  239. Davi says:

“soft penalty”??? It was a dive!! Im starting to hate hull now. They’re just trying to cheat or trick their way back in
    Thank god almunia saved it

  240. avenell says:

    Dududududududu.. 🙂

  241. avenell says:

Well done Diaby.. I knew he had it in him..

  242. Irishgunner says:

okay it was a tap-in but I like him 😀

  243. Davi says:

    brilliant response

  244. JonJon says:

and thats the fucking game you tossers….

    5-0 to the good guys

  245. Rasputin says:

Duduuuuuuuu hahahahaha !!! let’s hope that is the boost he needs to regain his form…

  246. Irishgunner says:

Well done Diaby there, got his head up and good ball in

  247. Davi says:

That’s why people like diaby. He needs to do that much, much more often, but it shows what people see in him.

  248. JonJon says:

yeah diabys alright when hes in there box…its when hes defending ours where the problem lies

  249. avenell says:

    Deleberate handball is a booking!!

  250. Irishgunner says:

Brown is like a cartoon character 😆

    WTF wears two scarves 😆

  251. Davi says:

JonJon – I agree. he needs to concentrate more basically. I thought wenger would play him more withdrawn so he would learn and improve – glad with how it’s worked out though.
This role suits diaby better, with a safety net behind him so he can concentrate more on attack

  252. Irishgunner says:

    New ref ha ha

  253. JonJon says:

thats how alot of us see it davi…

its when wenger gives him the extra responsibilty tht he cant handle it…

ive always though of diaby as a free spirit, like a support striker…thats where ive seen him produce anyway…

    hes not a midfielder….

  254. JonJon says:

the old ones got an injury irish..

    hes blind

  255. avenell says:

Let’s not kid ourselves this is relegation fodder..

  256. JonJon says:

that was a good tackle by denilson

  257. Davi says:

I still think he can learn to play as a midfielder though
That game against AZ, I kno i mentioned before, but that was probably the best Ive seen someone play that position this year, and on a par with his best performances for this club in any position. The not-attacking, not-defending role next to song and fabregas that denilson usually does better.
While I understand what denilson does and why he’s good, I still prefer the way diaby played that day. He added that extra strength we’re often accused of lacking.
I just dont think diaby *wants* to play there so much, at least thats how it appears when he plays there

  258. JonJon says:

and ave puts things perfectly into perspective…

hull are crap..we should be beating them no matter what team we field

  259. avenell says:

Theo is coming on for his £60,000 wages..

  260. Davi says:

great. vela has to sit out again

  261. JonJon says:

    yeah theo..
time to have a good laugh

  262. Davi says:

lol, jonjon – i was going to call him a clown, but thought that would be too harsh

  263. JonJon says:

maybe vela will come on for theo??

  264. avenell says:

That’s right Davi.. clowns don’t like being called names..

  265. Davi says:

wish silvestre had scored then. that would really have taken the piss

  266. Rasputin says:

We shouldn’t get carried away because Diaby has one good assist … we cannot afford to play him in DM to see if he matures into that role. We have a premiership to win.

  267. Irishgunner says:

Theo’s a good lad, quit with the mocking, its isn’t his fault that Wenger rates him and plays him probably more than he warrants.

  268. Davi says:

Rasp – I agree with you, but if walcott is allowed to learn on the job, why not diaby??

  269. avenell says:

I’m a good lad but I don’t expect to get in the Arsenal team..

  270. Davi says:

Irish – that’s why I felt bad. Nobody ever feels bad for the foreigners though in my experience

  271. avenell says:

    Theo fell over.. lol..

  272. Irishgunner says:

Neither does Walcott Avenell, but he isn’t going to tell Wenger to stop playing him is he??

Didn’t think I’d need to explain that one…

  273. rico says:

    WOT A GOAL!!!!

  274. Rasputin says:

That’s why we should play him further forward…

  275. avenell says:

Did you read Theo’s comments after the Liverpool game Irish.. sounded like he did all the work and he turned it around..

    Well done Diaby.. 🙂

  276. Irishgunner says:

I left another site because all they did was mock our players and manager like juveniles.

I can take constructive criticism but laughing at Walcott cos he fell over…..

  277. JonJon says:

diabys a forward..weve all said it for ages…hes not a winger, hes not a creative mid, hes not a DM..

    hes a forward…end of

  278. Davi says:

To be fair irish, did you see theo in the league cup? taking the free kicks? and his play was so selfish.

Im not saying its his fault, but he believes the hype too much. He’s gotten arrogant

  279. Irishgunner says:

    He’s only 21/22.

Bendtner thinks he’s Pele, I don’t care what they think in their head as long as they put a shift in on the field.

  280. avenell says:

How many times have we said Diaby had his best game for Arsenal against Man U last year as the support striker?

Now we have no strikers Arsene should play him up there more..
But now we play 433 I suppose there is no player in the hole position anymore.

  281. Davi says:

look at vela, hes thinking “9 minutes, greeeaat”

  282. Rasputin says:

Davi, I have no problem with Diaby playing in an advanced role – I’ve called for him to be tried as a number 10. I have a problem with him playing deep midfield because he gives the ball away to often and with our fullbacks playing high up the pitch it leaves us vulnerable at the back.

  283. Irishgunner says:

I’m not saying Theo deserves to play but calling him a clown and laughing when he falls over… C’MON!!!!!!!!

  284. rico says:

    Come on….

Shocking performance in the first half but we end it 1-0 up

Better in the second half and we are now 3-0 up…

Ok, It aint great but its 3 points!!

We all asked for Diaby to step up, and Denilson, they both did at sometimes during the game!

What would we rather, go to Fulham or Pompey and lose???

I’m off, off to call Arsene and advise him of which players to buy 😉

  285. Davi says:

irish – where were you when they wer all having a go at denilson? and he isnt arrogant

  286. avenell says:

Thing is Irish theo falling over isn’t funny at all that’s the problem..

  287. rico says:

I am with you on that Irish.. The lad has been out for ages!!

  288. Irishgunner says:

Not been funny Davi – I was trying to find a working stream.

Denilson put in a lot of meaty tackles today though.

  289. Davi says:

rasp – I agree with you, I was more making a point about walcott

  290. JonJon says:

    well played unlucky rambo

  291. Irishgunner says:

The least Theo could have done was put that away after I standing up for him lol

  292. Davi says:

Irish – ok, fair enough mate, apologies

  293. rico says:

Get Theo in the right position and then lets judge him…. I am boting, I have suggested that before!!

What is the difference between Theo missing the last and Dudu’s miss??? Oh, and now Ramsey ??

They all lack one thing right now/….. Playing time and confidence!!

  294. avenell says:

Will Wenger shake Browns hand? drum roll…..

  295. Irishgunner says:

    Ramsey should have started, fact!

  296. JonJon says:

    will brown shake wengers…

  297. avenell says:

    Instead of who Irish?

  298. Davi says:

rico – eduardo plays pretty well in between missing though.
Walcott has a great highlight reel, but is so inconsistent. And when he’s off-form hes so bad its not funny

  299. Davi says:

later guys, nice talking to you

  300. Irishgunner says:

😆 Wenger nearly walked down the tunnel without shaking hands

Someone needs to show Walcott how to use his speed, go back to the kick and rush type winger if needed.

  301. avenell says:

But we don’t play that way, that’s why Theo is a square peg in a round hole..

  302. Irishgunner says:

I would have said Diaby but I think he did well today.

I would just have brought Ramsey in for Cesc.

  303. Irishgunner says:

Well the kick and rush is just to get past a player, Theo’s not too good at getting past players, he’s no tricks so hint the kick and rush.

  304. JonJon says:

wenger shook browns hand but just waved at

    seeya davi

  305. avenell says:

I would have liked to have seen Denilson become the new Cesc, he showed signs of it a few seasons ago but he doesn’t have enough awareness.

  306. Irishgunner says:

Denilson has bite in him but as you said he lacks awareness.

On an important note, 2 points behind the Mancs with a game in hand.

  307. avenell says:

I was just looking at the tables.. 5 points behind the Chavs.. I hope they go downhill with the injury to Essien and the ACN

Big game next week.. I hope we get a few players back..

  308. Irishgunner says:

Chavs play tomorrow against WH, hope the Hammers pull a performance out of somewhere

  309. avenell says:

It’s possible, Portsmouth gave them a run in the week..

  310. Irishgunner says:

    On City:

I don’t particularly like Mark Hughes but think he has got a raw deal. The Sheiks think they are Real Madrid already 🙄 Except Madrid got Ronaldo and Kaka, City got Adebayor and Bellamy 😆

  311. avenell says:

Perhaps that’s why though.. Mancini can attract a better player.

Not that I know much about him..

  312. Irishgunner says:

Maybe, didn’t attract much to Inter Milan though neither has Moruniho really.

How long do you give Mancini? Till the summer 😆

  313. avenell says:

I just want to see the pile of players all sitting on the greedy Man City scrap heap.

Apart from Tevez and Given they have bought worse players than they already had.. They have just unsettled the whole squad with greed.
I wonder if Hughes actually chose any except for Bellamy.

  314. avenell says:

They will never be satisfied .. Where has it got Chelsea in the last 3 years?

Where do you think Hughes will end up.. he ain’t going to want a lesser job?

  315. Irishgunner says:

Barry was a good buy for them.

The fans are turning on Barndoor after a few months ha ha and Hughes dropped him today with tells everything in my opinion….

  316. Irishgunner says:

Liverpool sack Benitez, sign O’Neill, Hughes to Villa???

  317. avenell says:

Barry is a good player but he has nudged Ireland out or out of position when he does play.

    Robiniho.. I prefer SWP.

Toure .. Was it Dunne who went to Villa? He was better.

RSC could be okay too, but Ade cost more so the pressures on Hughes to play him. (was)

Richards is as good as Lescott..

  318. avenell says:

I wonder what odds you would get on that?

If o’Neill went to the pool he would be mad.. they havn’t enough money to sign Villa’s best players that O’Neill has managed to acquire.

  319. Irishgunner says:

Santa Cruz was out injured so Adebayor came in by default anyway.

The owners just went out and bought who they could, very silly. Egos to go with it too…

  320. Irishgunner says:

Liverpool will always be a hard job to turn down though won’t it??

They surely have to say goodbye to Rafa now, even Arsenal weren’t as bad this time last season.

Fulham, Villa, Spuds have all a real shot at 4th if they want it.

  321. avenell says:

There are better times to be Liverpool manager though.. I would wait until the ownwers sort there lives out or sell.
The new manager won’t be in the Champions league for at least 18 months..

  322. Big Raddy says:

Credit where credit is due, Almunia had a fine game today. Had his kicking been better, I would say excellent. His save late in the second half was superb.

Once again, TV and Gallas were immense. What a signing TV is proving to be, another gem discovered by AW.

  323. Big Raddy says:

O’Neill is the natural successor to SAF, and if we are honest that is the top job in World football.

He is an ex Manc, has loads of experience (even CL), and is the sort of aggressive personality who could cope with SAF in the stands.

I understood that Liverpool couldn’t afford to sack Benitez

  324. avenell says:

Hi Raddy.. I still quite like Almunia. but he has been difficult to defend lately.

Benitez looked a bit flustered when asked about his position in the post match..

  325. Irishgunner says:

That’s true Raddy, I think Rafa has to resign.

How long a contract had Mark Hughes?? Bet he got a good pay off.

  326. avenell says:

    Or Real Madrid approach him..

Hughes has 18 months left on his contract according to wiki.. that means he signed pre Arab wages. I guess.

  327. avenell says:

I have to respect Hiddink.. at least he didn’t just up sticks and go for the money.

  328. Irishgunner says:

I’m sure Hiddink is getting plenty of it from Amramovich already for the Russia gig.

He’d be a great choice for Liverpool since he has no World Cup to prepare for but the oligarch won’t allow it in a million years.

  329. avenell says:

His Halo must of slipped a bit when they didn’t qualify..

  330. London says:

    Aw Ave

Hiddinck is a 6 mil a year manager and the Russian federation cannot afford that; he only works in Russia because of the Abramovich subsidy.

  331. avenell says:

What do you think Man city offered him?

    Wengers on nearly £5 mill..

  332. London says:

We were fucking great today, although I find that a bottle of rum, which is half the price of a round at the wonderful Emirates, always helps.

  333. Irishgunner says:

    Offered who?

  334. London says:

The Arabs know that they cannot outbid the Russian so they didn’t bother…..Mancini on the other hand?

  335. avenell says:

Hiddink Irish, Man City approached him, according to Hiddinks agent.

Money may not be everything with Abramovich..

  336. Irishgunner says:

Mancini was unemployed 😆 He could turn out a proper mess.

  337. Irishgunner says:

I think Hiddink is his own man too Avenell.

He’ll feel aggrieved at not getting to the World Cup and will want to right that. He has said he’s not interested in going back to full-time club management.

  338. London says:

“Money may not be everything with Abramovich..”

You may have to elaborate on that one

  339. avenell says:

Irish that is what I mean respect to him..

    Not on here London..

  340. London says:

Mancini has no great track record, this is just another disaster waiting to happen.

  341. London says:

We should be clear: Hiddink was, and still is, only in Russia because Abramovich; he is paying him more than he would get at any other club management making him as much of a mercenary as any one else.

  342. avenell says:

This is a bit my dad could beat your dad up situation .. But who would pay the most the Arabs or the Russians?

And he turned down the chance to manage Abramovich’s hobby.

  343. peachesgooner says:

I was gonna read through your afternoon entertainment but you were all much too verbal and I can’t be bothered 😉

Yes it was bloody cold – the first half was dead boring although there were clearly undercurrents of anger and spitefullness going on – the 2nd half was spicy and a lot of fun and we were always going to win cos they’re rubbish……..

    3-0 great result – I love Arsenal and I didn’t have half a bottle of rum 😉

  344. London says:

There is a very easy answer to this: my Dad is bigger than your Dad…..simples

  345. avenell says:

My dad might have one of those special brollies..

    Well done Peaches..

  346. peachesgooner says:

Irish texted me that Arsh squared up to someone in the tunnel – how good is that…..

  347. London says:

It’s worth remembering that Abramocich’s hobby is not just Chelsea, it is the Russian National team as well. He pays for both.

  348. London says:

Arshavin and Vermaelen are the new influences that are not to be messed with. We found our new fighting spirit this afternoon.

  349. peachesgooner says:

What a shame about Mark Hughes ……

What a shame about Liverpool …….

    What a shame about Man U …….

We definitely aren’t good enough to win the league but how amazing if we do …… 😛

  350. avenell says:

So if Chelsea wanted him he would be arguing over Hiddink with himself.. that’s exactly it..

Arr can we have your manager Mr Abramovich? er No Mr Abramovich.

  351. London says:

I cannot work out what is going through the minds of the City owners. Did they sack him because they actually thought they would win the league this year or something?

  352. London says:

Yep, that was the problem, Abramovic could have had him for Chelsea but he ran the risk of being assasinated if he forced the issue.

  353. avenell says:

I think it’s the way the team is playing.. and all the draws.
He isn’t very stateman like either, If it’s true, they wanted him out after the Arsenal game where he insulted Wenger all night, perhaps his behavior was in question.

  354. London says:

Do this in stages, how did a 6 mil a year manager get to be working in Russia, yes that is freezing cold Russia. The Federation cannot afford to pay him, so it can only be one person…..Abramovic.

  355. avenell says:

According to the russian press Abramovich doesn’t pay him no more……..

Roman Abramovich’s national football fund ceased to pay salary to the Russian national football team coaches with Guus Hiddink as the chief coach.

The reason why the fund stopped payments concerns the bilateral agreement Mr. Hiddink and the Russian Football Union signed in April in the absence of Abramovich’s fund representative as the third party.

The annual salary paid by the national football fund to Russian football team coaches amounted to 19 million EUR approximately. Guus Hiddink’s net salary is set at about 7 million EUR per year.

A source close to the Russian football Union tells the organization extended Guus Hiddink’s contract after the National Football Fund had confirmed intention to pay wages to national team coaches. However, the fund refused to be involved in the deal.

  356. London says:

This is getting complicated and the Rum is wearing off.

  357. avenell says:

And Man City could treble Hiddinks wages without blinking.. in fact that is what they waste on Ade..

  358. London says:

Bloody hell, he was getting paid more than I thought.

  359. London says:

I’m being called to join in my family, so I shall return tomorrow.

  360. peachesgooner says:

There is only one good thing about a 5.30 ko in the middle of winter – not long till MOTD after a thaw out and a glass of wine 🙂

  361. avenell says:

We nearly got a good talk up on MOTD.. wow..

Hanson didn’t say anything though.. How’s your dipper team doing?

  362. avenell says:

Have you changed the background of that avatar Peaches?

  363. peachesgooner says:

Its possible that I have ave……..doesn’t look like rasps now does it ……..

  364. peachesgooner says:

Catch up tmoro ave off to bed ……. 😉

  365. avenell says:

    Okay night.. me too..

  366. JonJon says:

is anyone about??? my head hurts..i hit the celebratory bottle last night.. 😉 when i got in i read through the comments and i didnt have a clue what anyone was talking about 😉

im still really happy about our victory..i know it was hull but there was certain aspects of our victory that pleased me..

the punch up was great…we scored a freekick, diaby proved to wenger where he needs to play, dudu was lively again got that important confidence goal and manny saved a pen and kept a clean sheet…happy days..

  367. London says:

    Morning JJ

I re-read them this morning and didn’t have a clue what I was talking about.

  368. rico says:

    Morning everyone..

Great result, just great – no not us winning 3-0, but Chris Collins, son of John, won Strictly Come Dancing 😛 😆

  369. Big Raddy says:

I agree JJ. The punch up was great, It was back to the all for one, one for all of the Old Arsenal. Our little Russian is a feisty chap, and it was good to see Silvestre leading from the front…. AW must have been looking at this type of commitment to the cause when he signed him as chaperone of the kids.

The first 40 minutes was very ordinary but from then on I really enjoyed the game. Fairplay to Hull, they didn’t park the bus.

  370. Big Raddy says:

    Morning All

  371. Irishgunner says:

    Evening all 😉

Raddy I was impressed by Silvestre too.

JJ and Avenell, I wrote a piece on Theo based on our discussion yesterday. Its a bit crap and thrown together but see what ye think:

  372. rico says:

I agree re Tweetie, and the penalty against him was very very harsh – good to see Almunia make a save, that will have done him a world of good

  373. JonJon says:

    hello everyone…

london i think it was the rum i was drinking…i can make more sence of it now.. 😉

raddy..i love to see that from the players…that one for all attitude..its great..i miss the days where we would fight with manure all the seems over the years weve become more of a subdued team but i think a good tunnel punch up is great for morale..its serves more purpose for bonding the player than anything i feel.. was great..bloody good stuff..and manure lost..

irish i will take a look

  374. JonJon says:

weve banged on for so long that good GK’s make match winning saves…mannys pen save won us the changed everything

i think he deserves MOTM for that and after all hes been through…it was a poor pen but at the end of the day he still had to save it…lets hope it changes his mindset for the better eh..

  375. JonJon says:

i like it irish, very well put together…

but you forget the 6th reason…overall lack of ability.. 😉

  376. Irishgunner says:

😆 Jon Jon didn’t go with the whole ethos of my article that one so left it out.

As Le Boss would say “I didn’t see that one”

  377. Big Raddy says:

Re the Penalty. Where were the Arse defenders for the follow up? 3 Hull players were ahead of us the the ball, and Hunt deserved to miss what was an total open goal. He is too ugly to play at the Emirates

  378. London says:

I have a post if you want it?

  379. London says:

    Although I can’t think of a title

  380. JonJon says:

the problem we now have with theo is one that me and ave spoke about ages ago..

when all our strikers are fit and firing, he still doesnt make it into the team…robin, AA, dudu, nikki offer the forward line much more, and even nasri and rosicky offer the team more as the wide players…

so where does that leave theo?? 60k a week sat on the bench…

  381. JonJon says:

london bang it up…i dont think anyone else has one..

  382. JonJon says:

raddy yes that concerned me and i witnessed that also..

its like they had gave up..good job the captain hadent

  383. Irishgunner says:

😆 Raddy – when Hunt plays for Ireland I think he is great cos he is a pain in the arse for the opposition, really winds them up, then when he plays against Arsenal I find him annoying – he does his job well in all fairness. He’s a poor man’s Eboue and that’s saying something.

  384. Irishgunner says:

His speed is the one thing he has.

Learn to take on defenders and finish and he can go a long way imo.

  385. Big Raddy says:

Hunt is very ugly. Looks like an extra from Lord of the Rings. He did nothing for the beautification of the Emirates!

  386. London says:

    New post
