Bacary encourages the kids to read, just wish he would encourage Arshavin to Shut Up!!!

Ok, I have done this to death, but Arshavin is really starting to cheese me off, big time. A few months ago Kelsey suggested Audrey really wanted to be at another club and I thought he was so wrong. Well sorry Kelsey, I now see exactly where you are coming from, and just maybe you are right.

I think he has used us to get to what he feels is a better club – that being Barca, or Real Madrid!!

Well I say go, go to either and perform the same way as you have for us Audrey and we will be able to do the same as we did when Hleb left us….. That is to sit and laugh, while you get splinters!! πŸ˜›

Today we face Stoke, exactly what we need too, a stoke, or should I say poke up the arse to get us back on track. We got beat by the team on top of the league and then by a bunch of over rated, over priced and over ego’d bunch over players who have a manager living on borrowed times because he was a decent player – but still remains a c**p manager!!

Ok, I will move on from them, today we play a side who have height, strength, and belief in themselves and a manager who is a gentleman rather than an over ego inflated git!

We have home advantage and if ever there is a time for the fans to sing and shout, it’s today. We need them to sing their hearts out and get behind the team – I would if I could be there, and I am sure they all will to!

So, here is the pick and mix crop who would you play??

Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen, Gallas, Traore, Denilson, Fabregas, Nasri, Arshavin, Mannone, Eduardo, Eboue, Vela, Senderos, Wilshere, Silvestre, Ramsey, Rosicky.

I would go with

Almunia
Sagna Vermaelen Gallas Silvestre
Fabregas Denilson Rosicky
Nasri Eduardo Vela

Forget about Delap, forget about Stoke and concentrate on our team, get our team back to playing the football we know can play, and get the forwards to start scoring.

Today should be the perfect game for Vela and Eduardo to find their shooting boots, the same goes for Nasri and Rosicky who need to go back to the days when they would shoot on sight.

Remember the two stunning strikes from the boot of Rosicky against the dippers a few seasons ago, well let’s hope we see something similar today from him.

Arsene says he is getting Rosicky’s new contract sorted, well a goal or two may just get that sorted out a bit quicker! The good news is that he is also trying to sort a new deal for Gallas.

The bad news is that Arsene has said he won’t be making any bids for players who are too expensive! Tell us something we don’t know Arsene, but I do have a feeling he will be buying one of two next month.

Whoever the players are that he has lined up will know who they are by now, they will be watching our game today at some stage.

So come on Arsenal, the chips are down, the odds are starting to stack against us and our backs are getting closer to the wall!

Time to shove all those words from the doubters back down their throats with a reassuring 4-1 win!

” I don’t mind that but the outcome of the game should remain unchanged.” – I’m not asking for results to change Avenell just retrospective banning which has happened.

JJ – You mentioned no player should be on the end of death threats and I totally agree. However you never clarified that the death threats Henry received came all from France. If anything the Irish officials and players acted well in my view. The majority blamed the officials and lack of technology. Even Duff said all Henry was doing was chancing his arm. Henry is the butt of jokes (and a bit of disgust) in Ireland but nobody wants to kill him, that’s just silly and if the French want to be silly there is nothing the Irish can do about it. It was blown up by the international media straight away before the FAI got involved. There was no Irish players at the end harassing the ref or running up to the camera calling it a β€œfucking disgrace”. Even Keane, Trap etc have admitted that it was least good of Henry to man up and admit he handled it. Ireland went after FIFA and their Fair Play remit not Henry.

Again you went back to the Georgia penalty – you can’t claim we only finished 2nd because of that penalty. Yes it changed the course of the game but 1) Keane didn’t cheat to get it (as opposed to Henry) 2) There was still plenty time left in that game left 3) We finished well ahead of Bulgaria and Cyprus

Avenell – The video technology would work. It works perfectly well in rugby. It won’t be used and called for everything. The video ref would be watching at all times.

Back to Arsenal LOL – glad to see more are getting a bit tired of Arshavin and his talking, he could do a bit more on the pitch himself.

  3. rico says:

    Morning Irish

I am really fed up with AA, I would leave him on the bench today and sell him in January and use the money to get a player who wants to wear the Arsenal shirt!!

  4. Irishgunner says:

Morning Rico – I don’t want Arshavin to go, think he is a wonderful player and with the right attitude can be one of the few players who can literally turn a match by himself.

However, he needs a whole big dose of cop on. To be honest he is one of our worse players so far this season. If his attitude doesn’t pick up he needs to be benched and a stern talking to – heard Wenger gave him a good talking to when he didn’t want to play against Liege.

People asked at the start of the season did Fabregas want to be at Arsenal? I said give the boy a chance and he has been immense – yes his head dropped for the last five mins against Chelsea which you don’t want to see but that was a game where all his passes he would play to RvP saw no-one there – he was just disheartened.

Cesc wants Arsenal to do well, Andrey wants Arshavin to do well, I don’t have a problem with that till he starts sulking and decides not to play.

  5. rico says:

But all he has done is moan Irish, we are too short, the tax, not enough stars, we need to spend big, we need to do this that and everything else πŸ˜‰

Had he have been on fire all season I could understand his comments, comments though that we should never be able to see or read in the press, he should be telling the boss his thoughts, not reporters..

  6. kelsey says:

    Morning rico and irish.

Nice post rico, and today really is a must win game.Pullis has done a good job at Stoke, but however physical they well may be,they have only one once away this season,(and we all know who they beat.)

With regards to team selection,it will be interesting to see if Eduardo starts,as he is obviously still a yard or two off the pace, whilst Vela looked the only one of our attackers who had a reasonable game at City.Same applies to Rosicky, who appears to be playing a quite different role, and understandably is also not 100% match fit.I think Arshavin will play, purely because if he gives five minutes of magic,he could turn the game.

What City showed me,although we literally played the reserves,is that Cesc as good as he has performed this season needs to build up a telepathic relationship as he had with Robin. At the same time I question if he really is captain material, his head really went against Chelsea. We are asking a lot from him, remember he is still 22,and he is pivitol to the way we create chances.
I have said it before, that even allowing for injuries,of which we have far too many, there is no consistency in the team,by that I mean,we never know which team will turn up on the day.

with regards to buying a striker in January, that may well happen but a central defender aka gilberto and a keeper are just as much a priority. We will never win anything without an organised defence as a first priority.

Looking at Wenger he has aged 10 years in three and maybe just maybe the intention that this team will eventually be the best is obviously still there but he may have lost the best way to change what amounts to as the way all our tams play, which can now be counter acted by more and more sides playing us.

  7. Rasputin says:

    Morning rico,

    Excellent post πŸ˜‰

Regrettably, I think I’m going to upset just about everybody on here in one way or another 😦

Here’s just a few of my rants …..

I’m in favour of video technology, but only to be used in a game when/if the ref wants clarification – not managers or players.

Ireland were cheated out of the WC – video technology would have prevented that…. having said that, it is over and the debate should be finished now…

I think we only have a 50/50 chance of beating stoke today …. not because of the height of our players, but because over the last few matches, none of them have played anywhere near their best, the team is not on form because the players are not on form.

We shouldn’t offer Tomas a new contract after the citeh game, his performance and work rate was appalling … he would need to apologise to the manager and the rest of that team and put in twice the effort for his next 10 games to earn a new contract

Eveything AA says is correct … but he should keep his ‘little mouth’ shut as he is damaging the team and club by his criticisms. Once again, I am mystified that no-one at the club (and clauses in his contract should allow this) has told him to stop….. His comments are honest – he has criticised his own performances …. he’s no fool so I can’t see how he would think that lack of form and bad PR would get him a move to Barca … they don’t need him any way…

My choice of a marmite gravatar had nothing to do with any other site, but was a bit of fun …. I find Arsenal crests etc a bit boring … give me a guinea pig any day πŸ˜›

  8. rico says:

Morning kelsey and Rasp and thanks

Head and heart with me Rasp for today, they fight eachother all the time when it comes to thinking about whether we will win or not, and I can see where you are coming from πŸ˜‰

I can forgive Rosicky for the Citeh game, but only if it transpires to be a ‘one off’ and not a weekly event πŸ˜‰

kelsey, I like Pullis too, he is one of a few gents in the game. I would start with Eduardo for one reason only, he is one of only two strikers who are fit 😦

I think we still need the three players we all were asking for last summer, but we all know that just isn’t going to happen sadly 😦

Rasp, shall I hunt you down a piggie πŸ˜‰

  9. Rasputin says:

    Morning kelsey, rico,

Because we have too many similar players and apparently no-one amongst the strikers who can power in a header (what would be the point – we don’t have anyone who can cross a ball either!!), curl in a free kick, dump defenders on their arses or who is prepared to have a shot from outside the box (except Denilson) we have an army with only one weapon in its arsenal…..

Its like two armies going into battle where one has only rifles and the other has rifles, mortars and tanks … we get outgunned!!!

Plan A is exquisite to watch … but if plan A doesn’t work, we have nothing else to offer…..

  10. Rasputin says:

… best ‘scrappers’ in the squad … Cesc, TV, Gibbs and Traore

… worst bottlers in the squad… Theo, Almunia and Tomas

  11. soundboy says:

let’s forget the past and focus on the future 4 the past is not always good.

  12. rico says:

That is funny Rasp, no point having someone to head the ball at goal as we don’t have anyone to cross the ball πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Spot-on with Gibbs, the way he has come back after ‘that slip’ has been top draw – many would have crumbled..

  13. rico says:

    Welcome to AR soundboy..

It’s hard sometimes, the past has such an effect on us fans, and the team. A win today would be a good start though..

  14. rico says:

Got to pop out for a while, catch you all a little later..

  15. Rasputin says:

Hi soundboy, nice to have you on AR

We can’t discuss the future – because it hasn’t happened yet πŸ˜‰ we can only speculate which means it is based on optimism or pessimism – whichever way you feel.

It is dangerous to ignore the past because without it you never learn ….

  16. Davi says:

I’m inclined to agree about arshavin – especially about wanting him to shut up. He never has anything constructive to say and just echoes all of our doubters.
I hope you’re wrong, but agree its a real possibility, he wants to use us as a stepping stone.
That’s why its important vela gets games in the next few weeks. Honestly, as good as arshavin can be, vela can be ten times better.
Id have the same team as you except eduardo would start on the left and vela through the middle – vela’s 1st touch and link-up play are better – and Id be tempted to put ramsey in instead of rosicky but get him to support denilson rather than the attack. Let fabregas have the freedom to construct attacks.

Btw have you guys seen this zezinho kid? Theres a video of his contributions in a particular 1st team match, and at 17 he looks like he has elements of fabregas, nasri and kaka to his game. Plus he’s not tiny! I hope we get him.

  17. Big Raddy says:

Good call Davi re: Ramsey, but having played 90 mins midweek, I can’t see it.

And I think Rosicky will get a bench seat today.

Must win game today & I am confident. A front line of Vela, Eduardo & AA, should be enough to win it for us. As all have said, AA owes us a decent afternoon.

I predict a 3-1 victory ( clean sheets are boring and UnArsenal)

  18. London says:

    Morning Roadsters

Rosicky needs a big game, his last two performances have been pitiful, he is playing with the same urgency as he would on the training pitch and that is where I think the problem lays: he has played so much non competitive football that he seems to have lost the inner determination to win at all costs, something I always thought he had before he was injured. As for giving him a new contract, better that than let him run down his present one and leave on a free. Big game today Tomas, big game we know you have it in you; it’s time to start showing it again.

A word on the Marmite question: if I have understood this properly and it is thought that the expression belongs to another channel then I disagree. The people on this channel played just as much of an influential role in developing that term as those left elsewhere; and, because of which, I for one feel that people on here have as much right to use it as anyone else.

  19. Irishgunner says:

” Ireland were cheated out of the WC – video technology would have prevented that…. having said that, it is over and the debate should be finished now…” – Rasputin, are you trying to deny me my right as a Irish citizen to moan and be a begrudger?? πŸ˜†

If we stop debating things in the past we’d never debate anything.

As for Stoke – it is actually a good team for Arsenal. After this we should know what the players are made of, a soft game here wouldn’t be much good, Stoke will be tough, beat them and a bit of confidence comes back.

  20. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

    Good post rico.. well done.

    To answer a few points..

Irish I did agree about retrospective punishments the other day.
I hate rugby, I hate the silly names, They still cheat but differently. I hate the technology and it is another game full of stop starts.
To be honest I wanted France to win and qualify for the world cup mainly because of the biased reporting in this country before the game..
It was like Man U playing against Barca, us v them but when it came to Ireland v France it should have been them v them but it wasn’t and when Henry handballed it the media over here have gone into a frenzy..
I know where you are coming from as you have a direct connection but the English should just be looking at the match from outside with no prejudice.

And London you are right about Marmite players it is just a generic term. we even had a post way back in March
    https://avenell.wordpress.com/2009/03/16/bendtner-the-marmite-kid/

just because we don’t use that term everyday, doesn’t mean we jumped on a bandwagon. Every fan blog in the world uses it type it into google..

  21. JonJon says:

    hello all…

nice post rico…ive had my doubts over AA’s attitude so far…but in his defence he has admitted he is also not playing well so he is partially to blame for the teams mini slump…

also..i read an interview from wenger last night and he said hes read the AA interveiw in full and it has been misinterpreted in translation…AA was apparently saying that we are missing the likes of nikki, rvp and diaby so we are naturally struggling with lack of height in our team at the minute….

i think the problem we have with the russian is that he has his own website…so whenever it is updated the media will always have something to write about…he is also outspoken so its abit of a 50-50 situation…but as long as he finds his form he can say what he wants….its when his form is crap that he begins to raise eyebrows….

    hello irish…

dont get me wrong im not in anyway knocking ireland…im just trying to look at things from a nuetral point of view…

as for punishment i think retrospectivley henry should be punished..he admitted he cheated…so whats the hold up..

todays a massive match…we need to stop the rot…as london pointed out we need a big performance from rosicky…not only him but all our senior players…

cesc and rvp have been sensational this season and now robins injured we need someone to step up and be the man to help cesc….

we saw what happend to cesc in the chelsea game..his head dropped at the end but he had a good game, it was just the movement of the front players that was killing us…cesc found himself in the same position as last year where he was playing by himself with nobody making the runs…that why i beleive he was frustrated…

we really need AA and rosicky to buck their ideas up and help our captain….before rvp got injured we had something like 15 different goalscorers…so where are they all now???

they need to stop feeling sorry for them selves and play for the shirt…

  22. JonJon says:

oh and i was thinking last night about diaby…

theres an old cliche- you dont know what youve got til its gone…

diabys been knocked hell for leather this season by all of us but since his injury weve lost abit of presence in the middle…maybe we miss him more than we think???

or am i just clutching at straws and looking for excuses??

  23. JonJon says:

i also think diaby could be the answer to our front line problem…

hes big, hes strong, he can control the ball, he can dribble…

maybe wenger should stick him up top as the front man and play the pygmys around him…

diabys a frustrating player..especially when hes losing the ball outside his own box..but maybe his attributes would benefit our forward line…his trickery would cause any defence trouble and if he loses the ball then at least hes losing it in their box and not ours….

wenger may not have to buy in january…in nikki and diaby we could have our answer…and you never know…we could finally find his position…after all he is one of our top scorers….

    diaby for striker????

  24. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

London – excellent point about ‘Rosicky playing too much non competetive football’ – thats what I’ve been trying to say but couldn’t fnd the right footballing term – thank-you.

The number of times players don’t show for the ball or don’t intercept a pass are just too frequent and I think it shows that lack of competetiveness on the training ground. Obviously we don’t want players doing a ‘Diaby’ on each other but they often look so surprised when a pass gets cut out by the opposition.

  25. peachesgooner says:

I’m fed up with moaning about our team 😦

  26. peachesgooner says:

JonJon you put on three huge posts while I was writing mine πŸ™‚

    How are you?

  27. Davi says:

JonJon – I agree we might be missing diaby’s size in the middle. He was starting to understand his role a bit I think. The game he played against AZ is exactly the way he should always play, throwing himself into tackles, and next to song, really dominated the midfield and won possession high up the pitch quite often.
Iv often thought of having him up front. It depends really. He does think like a striker I think. A couple of times hes played as a 2nd striker and the chances do often fall for him, so maybe its a possibility.
I for one really want vela to be given the chance there. He’s not big, but he is quite strong and obviously very quick. He can hold the ball really well. On wednesday he could have had a few chances as he was always looking for the long ball on the break. Often gibbs is the one who plays it but the quality was lacking against city – in the 1st team, theres a chance fabregas or someone will be able to set him away a few times and we know he can finish 1-on-1. We just need to lure them out and break on them quickly. Easier said than done tho, especially at the emirates where teams want to do that to us.

  28. JonJon says:

lol..hi peaches..im fine thanks..especially now its the weekend and we get to erradicate the demons of the last two games…

    how are you my dear???

i think rosicky could be our key man today…if he plays his game, cesc will have a field day…we just need AA to click also….if those three click, lack of height or not we’ll stuff stoke…

a good 5-0 today will put us back up there…

    75% possesseion, a clean sheet…5 goals…

    we’ll be back…

  29. JonJon says:

davi, you raise a good point about ‘understanding his role’…

wenger has said before all his players want to play through the middle…so he has had to change his tactics and formations to fit them all in…

diaby started as a striker in france…wengers played him as winger and DM…and alot like the other players in the squad-when you play them out of position they dont play as well….

i say stick him back up top…use his height and strength..

  30. avenell says:

We’ve been saying that since we beat Man U last year when he played just behind Bendtner.. It worked then so why doesn’t Arsene give it another go?

He keeps playing Song and Denilson together that doesn’t work (have we won a game when they have started together, not against any decent teams?)

  31. JonJon says:

yeah ave he played those two and nasri had a field day in the gaps they left…

theres no point in playing a load of dwarves and hoping you can pass pass pass your way through and keep banging the crosses in…it dont work…

  32. peachesgooner says:

I’m good JonJon thanks – just been applying the mascara before I head off out to enjoy the feast of football thats going to be laid out in front of me.

My foot really hurts today but……….

……it’d better be good thats all I can say.

Watch out for the Ranting Rasputin πŸ˜€

Catch you all later, enjoy xx

  33. JonJon says:

    whatever happened to nacer barazite…???

he had skills, and hes about 6.4..alot in the pires mould…

    wheres he gone??

  34. Rasputin says:

    London,

You’re wrong about the marmite thing – I’m gonna change it any way because I’m fed up with all the crap…..

  35. JonJon says:

have a good time peaches..hope the lads turn on the style for you..after last week the fans deserve a breathtaking performance…

  36. Davi says:

Avenell – the trouble with diaby is, when we do play him behind the striker, he tends to start well with maybe 2 or 3 good games, then go back to medicrity. He definitely needs a run, but I think he’s like baptista was when on loan here – hes a player who needs a team built to accomodate him. And arsenal really needs to accomodate fabregas imho, so we just dont have room for diaby to play like that. If he settles he can play CM for us imo. He has good playmaking skills

JonJon – I thought diaby was an attacking (or attack-minded central) midfielder before he joined. I know wenger wants to convert him to play defensive, but I dont think he was a striker exactly.
Wouldnt surprise me too much though, but Id have thought if that were a natural position, we’ve been through enough striker crises now that wenger would surely have gone with sticking diaby up front for a game or 2. He trusts him enough I think.

  37. JonJon says:

    rasp..what crap’s this??

    i like your avatar…i think its cool…

  38. Rasputin says:

    Thanks JonJon,

  40. avenell says:

Rasputin.. I thought London was backing you up..

    Like I was..

  41. avenell says:

Davi.. Has Diaby played more than one consecutive game in that position?

No matter where he plays he dissapears during games, his passing is awful too.. It’s better that it’s done further up the pitch..

  42. Rasputin says:

If that’s true ave, I apologise to both of you …….

I’m gonna change it any way because there’s been too much talk about it and we should be discussing the football.

Irish, you moan away as much as you like … I’d be a huge hypocrite if I conplained about someon else moaning πŸ˜‰

Much as I have criticised Diaby/Mr Stoopid/Huggy Bear, I’d really like to see him play up front. I’m sure he can hold the ball up more than nay other player available at the moment.

1 nil Pompey … good for them (even though I don’t like AG)

  43. avenell says:

I have been saying that that term was on the open market like onion bag.. Just because one site has picked it up and uses it all the time and featured it, they never invented it..

I would say it is over used now though, that would be my critisism but as you said .. who cares..

  44. avenell says:

Get your arse on here.. πŸ™‚

  45. Rasputin says:

Well I’ve changed it now – so no-one can be confused as to where I’m coming from……..

We ‘should’ have a comfortable victory today. If we do, I hope that Arsene talks to them after and says “OK, we beat Stoke, but I want to see the same performance and commitment against liverpool next week”

  46. kelsey says:

    no eduardo again

  47. Rasputin says:

Almunia dodgy under the long throws

    Rosicky and Denilson pointless

Nasri doing well tracking back to break up the few Stoke break outs

Eboue as our second striker

  68. avenell says:

There is a button for full screen.. but now it is full stream there are no buttons like there normally is..

    And yes Eboue did.. 😦

  69. Irishgunner says:

There should be an icon in the lower right of the stream, hover mouse over it

    Vela on

  70. avenell says:

3am wow.. what have you been up to during your days?

  71. avenell says:

Irish I have tried that too.. it’s as if the page is too big for the screen amd it is outside it if that makes sense..

The page won’t refresh as that normally shrinks it too..

    Don’t worry..

  72. Irishgunner says:

    Beach mainly
    doing any free tourist attractions

    free things mainly πŸ™‚

  73. Irishgunner says:

That’s an odd one Avenell – me I’d do the whole “turn the computer off and on again” but probably not an option for you now. Can you still watch the game on another window?

  74. avenell says:

Any plans or luck getting work?

  75. avenell says:

The one that’s stuck is working.. most of the time anyway..

  76. Irishgunner says:

I have free accommodation till the end of December so staying put for ow and will look in the New Year.

  77. avenell says:

Are you glad you went and are enjoying it though?

  78. Irishgunner says:

Oh yep definitely – just need to get a job so I can stay

flippin stream I have is gone

  79. avenell says:

Here the one that I am watching.. you will need to download veetle if you don’t have it..

    good luck if you do..

    http://www.veetle.com/viewChannel.php?cid=4af0721aa8367

  80. Irishgunner says:

Its okay my other one came back, thanks though.

    Why can’t Sagna cross??

  81. avenell says:

Who’s gonna head it anyway? lol

  82. Irishgunner says:

    Arshavin LOL

  83. avenell says:

I’m freezing I have been putting off lighting the fires.. but I may give in soon..

  84. avenell says:

Arsenal left backs have the lifespan of a mayfly.. lol.. not another one down.. 😦

  85. Irishgunner says:

    Well done Aaron

  86. avenell says:

Stream went down.. what did he do?

  87. avenell says:

    Ah 2-0 got ya.. πŸ™‚

  88. Irishgunner says:

Nearly an excellent goal good last ditch defending there though

  89. Irishgunner says:

    Mancs beating WH 0-4 away

  90. Irishgunner says:

Okay I’m off back to bed – talk soon

  91. avenell says:

Cheers Irish. Have a good night.. Day.. Morning.. πŸ™‚

  92. Rasputin says:

A win’s a win, not particularly convincing, but its all about results and we won. I only listened on the radio and received texts from the match – anyone got an analysis?

  93. avenell says:

I think you have summed it up Rasp..

I didn’t see all of it though.. We should have been 4-0 up at HT.. then it would have been convincing.. but you know us..

  94. JonJon says:

    hi guys..

sorry i had to dissapear…i had a few family issues i needed to attend…

i totally missed the game and ive just got back home to watch wengers interveiw…my heart sank when wenger said cesc missed a pen and had a shot cleard off the line and sorensen made the difference…

i was frantically searching for the score and then i found it…phew… πŸ˜‰

how did we do??? who starred?? who was shit? who got injured?? πŸ˜‰

  95. avenell says:

AA and Nasri starred.. Rosicky was the invisible man..

Vela was good when he came on..

The defence were good, Almunia flapped at a few delap throw ins…

  96. JonJon says:

adebayor own goal after given double save…lol

i want citeh to win though really..or a draw..

  97. JonJon says:

i was hoping rosicky would have been good today…i know hes been out a long time but after the way we stood by him you’d have thought he would have been playing his heart out…

maybe the injury has taken its toll and hes not the player he was and never will be…

but then again..knowing our luck we’ll let him leave on a free and he’ll end up being a superstar next season for someone else…

  98. London says:

Well, I’m glad I was at the game, I have been hung, drawn, quartered and apologised to all in the space of ninety minutes.

  99. kelsey says:

adebayor is back ha ha ha

    injured traore,gallas,eboue and rosicky.

we will win feck all with almunia in goal. he had a tiff with gallas. the spaniard was a nervous wreck in the first half according to reports.

  100. avenell says:

He was a bit out of the game on the left. He mat of been better off roaming a bit.. But perhaps he was instucted to stay out wide..

As I say I didn’t see it all so that may not be correct.

I don’t think you can write him off yet..

  101. JonJon says:

its a funny old game london.. πŸ˜‰

was it a good game mate? how did we look?? did we look a team low on confidence?

  102. JonJon says:

kelsey..i think almunias heads gone…as will he at the end of the season..

ave..your right…everyone has dips in form, he’llcome out the other side…form is temporary, class is permanent..rosicky was born to be a footballer….i just hope we see the best of him this season…

  103. JonJon says:

what was the tiff with gallas about??

and weve lost another LB??? eboue wont be missed but gallas will…

ive read dudu picked up a niggle too?? whats going on at our club..only everton have worse injuries….wenger must be pulling his hair out…

  104. London says:

    JJ

I missed all this, I didn’t see a tiff and certainly didn’t know that Gallas was injured, What’s going on? And do you know if that was Ramsey’s first league goal?

  105. London says:

I love Rosicky but I’m starting to think he was born to be a hairdresser rather than a footballer. Not good, no where near being good.

  106. London says:

Does anyone know why Eduardo was out?

  107. JonJon says:

well done to the young man…it will give his confidence a big boost…

so a clean sheet…three points…and a first league goal for one of our young warriors…

    not a bad result…

  108. JonJon says:

wenger said he has slight muscular strain…

  109. JonJon says:

    come on citeh..yes…

    adebayor… πŸ˜‰

  110. peachesgooner says:

    I’m baaaaaaaaaack

    Very wet though 😦

  111. JonJon says:

    a draw here is perfect…

game in hand on chelsea and only 6 points behind…

same amount of games as citeh and 5 points ahead…

    title race is on…

  112. peachesgooner says:

    What tiff?

Traore was a real man today – got a standing ovation too

Eboue limped off – but that man works soooooo hard, shame he has no end product he could have been MOTM πŸ˜‰

  113. peachesgooner says:

Eboue was playing as 2nd striker you know πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜›

  114. peachesgooner says:

    ……and defending for Stoke 😦

Should have been 3-0 st half time

  115. JonJon says:

thats we we needed today peaches…we needed the players to dig in….

  116. peachesgooner says:

…..and Franchise came to sit with me after half-time…..he always livens things up πŸ™‚

  117. peachesgooner says:

I thought Rosicky did a bit of digging-in in the first half but he went missing later…….

Gallas was a star today – Stoke really didn’t threaten at all and then Rory Delap got tired and went off so we all breathed a sigh of relief

Well done to Aaron Ramsey πŸ™‚

  118. JonJon says:

chelsea are moaning about richards handball before adebawhores goal but they forget that the corner that resulted in their goal was really a goal kick…

    swings and roundabouts…

  119. peachesgooner says:

…..and our tiniest Marmite player – the one rasp used to have as his avatar – did actually put in a good shift today………

He’d had a couple of half chances from the same position as his goal earlier….

  120. JonJon says:

yeah i read he was good today peaches…lead the line well and got a goal…about time.. πŸ˜‰

  121. peachesgooner says:

Come on ave – what was the tiff?

I think you should send an email to Friere, not that I’m interferring in any way – we were all p****d off and he wasn’t helping but hes entitled to his say..

  122. avenell says:

Oy that was my idea you idea thief.. πŸ˜‰

  123. JonJon says:

freire will be back….he goes off on one all the time, but i think he had some important exams coming this week so that would explain why hes not around…

apparently almunia made an error and gallas tried to put his arm around him to give him a gee up and almunia pushed him away…

im only going off whats been said on SSN…i was hoping someone at the game would clear it up…

  124. avenell says:

    I don’t know about Gallas..

  125. peachesgooner says:

There you are…..what was the tiff?

  126. peachesgooner says:

Must have been 1st half – the 2nd half is under my nose

  127. JonJon says:

    im well happy weve won…
ive been feeling crappy all week and i feel much happier now…

  128. peachesgooner says:

See what a little football happiness does……..

Even the Ranting Rasputin might smile 😳

  129. peachesgooner says:

Bit of news……in the programme it said that Colin Lewin has had his appendix out this week…….good news/bad news ……

And this is for rico……Armand had a pet guinea pig as a young boy…… πŸ˜›

  130. JonJon says:

    chelsea losing…

    good result for us this

  131. avenell says:

Petr Cech is a shit keeper..

Well that’s what almunia was called after he did the same thing against Drogba..

  132. avenell says:

The best result would be a meteorite to land on middle eastlands..

  133. peachesgooner says:

    Tevez puts Citeh ahead……

  134. avenell says:

    Elvis is dead.. πŸ˜‰

  135. peachesgooner says:

Is that to blow both the teams away ave….

  136. peachesgooner says:

    Ok sorry, I didn’t F5 😳

  137. avenell says:

    Pervert.. πŸ˜‰

  138. peachesgooner says:

    πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜› πŸ˜†

  139. avenell says:

    πŸ™‚

In seriousness, This could boil over up there.. No handshakes for the shakehands man..

  140. JonJon says:

cech is a shit keeper..hasnt been the same since his injury….

he and almunia are quite average…

  141. peachesgooner says:

…….and I had to move from one room to another….

Its ok Irish will be up soon and we can have a sensible chat……

  142. peachesgooner says:

Why didn’t we exploit Cechs frailties last week – hes looked really dodgy this season and we gave him too much resect – we’re not very ruthless are we?

  143. avenell says:

Lack of Strikers I suppose.. and he looks his worse when dealing with crosses…

Trouble is we don’t do crosses..

  144. avenell says:

That assasin has shot drog again..

  145. avenell says:

Hughes doesn’t seem to like having his players getting a kicking..
    What goes around..lol..

  146. JonJon says:

this games boiling over..someones gonna get a red soon…

cech is chelseas weak spot…but they are that solid at the back they make him look good…

we just couldnt break down their back line…

  147. JonJon says:

    lumpy misses a pen…. LMFAO

  148. avenell says:

Cole learned a lot about respect to the refs.. lol..

  149. JonJon says:

when we played chelsea we had lack of pace, skill, strength, movement and height up front…

citeh have adebarndwhore, tevez, robinho, SWP and chelsea look vunerable….conceeded two goals

they are not invincible…they struggle just as much as anyone when they come across a forward line that has everything…

  150. avenell says:

    and drog misses a sitter..

  151. JonJon says:

    and terrys injured.. πŸ˜‰

    oh happy days…

i dont mind if citeh win…they still crap they will drop points all over the shop..

but the chelsea machine needs to be halted before they get too far ahead…

  152. avenell says:

Your right.. it’s just the Mark Hughes hatred..

  153. avenell says:

Wow John Terry can stand up..
I don’t know why we don’t send him to Afghanistan.. he could sort that lot out on his own..

  154. JonJon says:

    hughes and ade… πŸ˜‰

    get in…good weekend…

    title race back on…

  155. JonJon says:

    liverpool drew???

    yesssss…

manure was the only down side but fantastic weekend..

  156. London says:

Well, I didn’t expect that…..and crucaite ligaments snapping here there and everywhere to boot.

  157. JonJon says:

    yeah king terry….
i really wanted england to do well this summer but then i looked at the back page of the paper and seen that tossers ugly mug and all of a sudden i wanted them to crash out at the first stage…

  158. JonJon says:

whats chelseas next fixtures?? and who do they play when the ACN is on?

  159. peachesgooner says:

Thats good for us isn’t it – the manchavs aren’t consistant so the chavs dropping points will always be good…….

…….we still need the spuds to drop points tmoro…..

  160. avenell says:

    And the Dippers only drew..

    manures run in…

title race is on but it wont be easy…weve got to get through january and feb without a scratch to have a chance…

  169. avenell says:

8 points behind the Chavs with a game in hand..

Things are not as bad as some are saying..

  170. JonJon says:

is anyone watching your on Sky sports…

the chavs are fucking fickle…one guy reckons the ref was wearing sky blue even though chelsea should have had 3 players sent off and their goal was gifted and the next guy says ancelloti is losing the plot…

    LMAO

  171. JonJon says:

    exactly ave….

and weve still got to play them again….

we can still do this…its not over by a long shot…we just need abot of consistency, luck with injuries and a massive effort…

this weekend will lift the lads…

  172. peachesgooner says:

See, all smiling now……three points is all it takes…..I love being a gooner…..wheres that moany old Rasputin 😳

  173. avenell says:

And they turned into dirty ba**ards..

It did look a handball for the Ade goal though.. The defender had loads of time to move his arms away from his chest and he jumped into the ball… But who cares? πŸ™‚

  174. JonJon says:

    yeah ave richards handballed it…

but the corner chelsea scored from wasnt a corner…

terry, belleti and cole all should have been red carded too….

like u say dirty moaning whinging bastards…

  175. avenell says:

    Money cannot buy success.. lol..
    Abramovich has been out chequebooked..

  176. avenell says:

Are you watching Inter v Juve.. the refs arm is wearing out issuing yellows?

  177. avenell says:

One of the Juve defenders has a bondage mask on..

  178. avenell says:

Not that I would know what one looks like.. 😳

  179. JonJon says:

no im watching your on…like to laugh at all the chav and pool supportres tearing their hair out…

  180. JonJon says:

now ive got the juve game on…

the speckled one sent to the stands???

  181. Big Raddy says:

Once again Kolo got taken apart by Drogba. He was very lucky not to give away 2 pens. and only Drogba’s lack of a finish saved the Mancs.

Fine game though, full of passion, skill, fouls and bad reffing.

First class entertainment, with Fat Lamps pen miss the highlight of the game.

As to our game….. we did enough, and the first half was a delight to watch (apart from the finishing)

Traore looks a fine player, Mozart was clearly unfit, Vela has a long way to go, and if WG is really unfit for next week, we have a problem.

  182. Big Raddy says:

    Forza Juve. La Vecchia Signora

  183. avenell says:

Hi Raddy.. depends on if Torres is fit.. then we may have a problem your right..

  184. JonJon says:

    hi raddy…

brilliant entertainment…you missed out injuries.. πŸ˜‰

i cant wait to watch FF for our game…

if gallas is unfit what about song and TV partnership…think it would have enough against a struggling pool side??? suppose it depends on the fitness of torres…

  185. JonJon says:

    ave.. πŸ˜‰

  186. avenell says:

That geezer looks like he got that mask out of a cracker.. “Me and my piano”..

  187. Rasputin says:

    Evening all,

Were you lot joking or did they pick up injuries?

  188. Big Raddy says:

Big players are always fit when we play the Top4…. except ours!

What is FF.? Is there a stream? Or a recording?

I hate that I cannot get Sky (no dishes allowed on the apts). I miss all the extras- The re-runs, the pre-game, and the in depth analysis (though most of it is total poo).

If WG is out, we will see Swiss fill in, and be mugged again. He doesn’t have too good a record against the Dippers.

Song will be needed in MF, but perhaps Silvestre will play CB. Let’s hope WG recovers.

And that we have a forward available.

BTW Sagna was much better today.

  189. Big Raddy says:

    No joke Rasp

  190. Big Raddy says:

    It’s dinner time

    A domani…

  191. kelsey says:

    rasputin,

the way wenger was talking he didn’t commit himself to the extent of the injuries to eboue, rosicky, gallas and

    .

  192. JonJon says:

    hi rasp…

football first on sky, raddy… FF πŸ˜‰

its likeMOTD but you get to see the whole match and not 2 minutes and then 10 minutes of 3 tossers slagging us off

  193. kelsey says:

traore, but eduardo pulled a muscle in training.

  194. JonJon says:

    gallas is the key injury…

i dont think the rest will be missed too much..

  195. avenell says:

Traore will be missed if Clichy isn’t fit.. he had a good game today.

  196. JonJon says:

    yeah forgot about traore

  197. avenell says:

Jonjon I need to have a quick word.. can I get an email to you?

  198. JonJon says:

    yeah sure..

  199. Rasputin says:

If Gallas and Traore have hamstring injuries as reported in ave’s link, it is unlikely they’ll be fit for next week 😦

Traore’s form has been a big plus to come out of our recent strife. He seems to have grown up a bit during the loan spell.

  200. avenell says:

Gallas does seem quite good at getting over his injuries though..

  201. avenell says:

    JJ

    Like the old days lol..
