What do points mean? …………………

Prizes, thats what points mean, and today we are going for the Brucie Bonus ๐Ÿ™‚

I am still smiling from a comment London made yesterday. The wise man had found out that our game against Sunderland was being shown live on Italia television and that all we have to do is find a good Italian bar, sit down with a few beers and watch the game.

Here I am sat in a tiny village; lucky to have a local public house and a post office, and all I now want to do is find a little Italian bar with a television! It just isnโ€™t going to happen, sadly!

You have a good time London, hopefully watching us score a few ๐Ÿ˜›

What a day yesterday! The Henry debate goes on… and on and on, Arson suggests a replay, as does Thierry โ€“ then one of the biggest bullies in the game tells ROI to get over it and me, Iโ€™m just bored with it so thatโ€™s the last time it finds its way into a post โ€“ well one that I write anyway!

What saddens me though is all the lack of football news because of what has been going on.

Wojciech Szczensyโ€™s loan to Brentford is the only bit of news I can find about us, oh and Fat Frank is having the same kind of treatment that Robin is having in attempt to speed up his recovery. I am not sure there is a horse big enough out there!

On to our little game today ๐Ÿ˜›

Do we think Arshavin will be rested? โ€“ I personally canโ€™t understand why he would be, especially as during the last few games for us he has had a gentle work out so he shouldnโ€™t be too tired! I know he played midweek but he is a fit footballer and should be able to manage another stroll around today. Rest him on Tuesday please, not today. Sunderland will fear him and thatโ€™s half the battle won.

Same goes for Cesc, Gallas and Sagna, rest them on Tuesday if needed, not today..

But Wenger pointedly said that the mental and physical fatigue of international fixtures had taken a toll on the French contingent and Andrey Arshavin, so my hopes will be dashed when the team is announced ๐Ÿ˜‰

Theo is in the squad, I hope he is a sub and comes on for twenty minutes, against what should be a tiring defence by then ๐Ÿ˜›

Same goes for Denilson and Vela, if they are in the squad, start the game with them on the bench – Tuesday at home would be a better game for some of these players to start, not today in what could be a tricky trip up tโ€™north and where three points are so so important.

Sunderlands last few results โ€“ won one, lost two and drawn three. They beat The Dippers, drew against The Mancs and got beat by the Spuds!!! Work that lot out …

Like us though, Sunderland are having a tough time with injuries. Their keeper Gordon is out and Fulop takes his place, and they are missing Cattermole, Turner, Jones and Anderson.

For them, that must be like our injury list so all is equal!

Last season we drew 1-1, but last season we couldnโ€™t find that small gap between two posts. This season is a different story and we are creating more clear-cut chances and taking them. I honestly canโ€™t see any other result than an away win, but football is a funny old game ๐Ÿ˜‰

Arson says:-
“The game against Chelsea has more significance if we win at Sunderlandโ€™.

Of course it will, but if you make too many changes today Arson, we wonโ€™t get all three points, the winning run will have been broken and with it will go a little bit of our players confidence.

We have a big week ahead and after the next three games we COULD be top of the English Premiership, top of the group in the Champions League and sitting pretty as we head into December.

Just start with the strongest eleven we have fit and we will win!

I am sticking with

Almunia
Sagna TV Gallas Silvestre
Cesc Song Rosicky
Nasri Eduardo Arshavin

But I donโ€™t for one minute think that I will be right! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have a great day

A question to leave you with about the ACON – Who would you trust more, Ramsey or Denilson?

And speakin on songโ€™s yello card issue, i think heโ€™ll still start wit Song cos this is an equally imp game like chelsea n if by 60 mins weโ€™ve closed the curtains on Sunderland heโ€™ll replace Song wit Denilson ..Else heโ€™ll play him tell the end .. This wat i feel .. So we myt have a chance of seeing a bit of Denilson today .. Also Walcott in aftr 70 mins for a workout will be cool .. Stretching their LB .. So looks like our subs are goin to enjoy the show if we manage to kill the game by 60 mins or so!!

  3. rico says:

Morning ganesh, i have pasted you comment from the last post. I say play Song for the first half at least, let him keep the midfield secure and settled.
3-0 up and make the changes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Who do you trust more Denilson or Ramsey ??

  4. rico says:

Off out early, got to go and check the progress of the little pups ๐Ÿ™‚

    Back in a little while…..

  5. London says:

    Morning Rico

You could be right, your selection is probably the strongest that is available and if Arson does pick it I think the assault on the Sunderland goal will resemble Bagdad on the first night of the American bombing raid. But the Makems have been weakened so much by injuries that I think we would thrash them even if we put out our CC team which included Senderos and Silvestre as our CBs. My guess remains that Wenger will start with a team selection somewhere in between, with Walcott to start. I’m going for 3-1 to the EPL champions of 09/10.

  6. London says:

I have just noticed that question “Who do you trust more Denilson or Ramsey?” A very good question indeed I think if you had put that one in the main post you would have got a melt down of replies. I trust Denilson more defensively and Ramsey more offensively. Simples.

  7. rico says:

    Morning London

Caught you just before I logged off

Your comment has again made me chuckle ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope we keep a clean sheet today, but I would happily take the score you predict – as long as we get the three points I will be be very very happy…

I very much agree with 09/10 champions being us, get the chavs out the way with a win, and then its up to us..

    Got to dash

  8. rico says:

What do you mean London, its in there ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters,

Its gonna be cold, wet and windy oop norf today …. time for the gritty resilient Arsenal to show that they can mix it just to shut up the detractors that will always focus on our perceived ‘frailty’. That doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t play our magnificent creative attacking football, but just in case they go ahead against the run of play, we need to show that we can dig deep and beat them in all departments.

1:2 is my prediction and it won’t be pretty ๐Ÿ˜‰

  10. JonJon says:

    hello guys….

i like the headline rico…i remember when i was little and the majority of Telly was gameshows with punchlines…

mu favorite was…out of the black and into the red, you dont get nothing for two in a bed… ๐Ÿ˜‰

today could be a good day for us…if we beat sunderland today and manure slip up against everton and liverpool and citeh draw i will be a very happy man..

i still think wenger will rest a few players in your lineup..like sagna, song, AA and maybe gallas…

like you say sunderland have alot of players injured.key players….and im sure cana’s suspended…

and as for the denilson question…once again i find myself agreeing with london…if wenger wants a DM then play denilson-as long as rosicky and cesc play alongside him i think it will benefit him…

  11. rico says:

    Hi Rasp & JJ

I don’t think either are truly ‘right’ to fill the HM/DM role, they are not strong enough, I really hope we buy an out and out big b*****d in January ๐Ÿ˜‰

  12. rico says:

But out of the two, Denilson for me too….

  13. JonJon says:

    hi rico..

at the start of the season i was with the theory that we needed another player in the CM position to go with song cos i didnt think we had enough…

now im with a new theory..

i think to myself, do i trust denilson for about 10 matches whilest songs away….and the answer is yes…

if he plays alongside cesc rosicky AA nasri then all he needs to do is beak up the play, intercept the pass and pass it 5 yards to either of the above player..which he happens to be good at…

  14. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

It seems like the ‘Yummy One’ might be starting today and playing up front with Dudu and Tomas ๐Ÿ™‚

I agree with everyone who has said Denilson is the man to replace Song in the ACON.

I could be going to the Ems to watch the game in Club Level on the big screens but I’m saving my foot for tuesday night ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

0-2 for me today please and a big smile for the ‘Yummy One’ ๐Ÿ˜†

  15. JonJon says:

hello peaches, yes we could see the yummy one up front today…

    i’ll go for 1-3…to us. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  16. JonJon says:

i was reading this article and this made me laugh.

SUNDERLAND boss Steve Bruce claims Arsene Wengerโ€™s success at Arsenal has damaged the job prospects of British managers.
Bruce reckons the Frenchman is so good at his job, he has convinced Premier League chairmen to look abroad for bosses.
Home-grown managers are enjoying a resurgence as they lead five of the Premier Leagueโ€™s current top eight clubs.

i find that contradictory…i think thats the word.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

in fairness to steve bruce the article was about wengers greatness…but it was in the daily star so they always try to twist things..

  17. peachesgooner says:

Good for you JJ thats nice and positive. Hows Mrs JJ doing – any happier with her lot?

I havn’t heard from Irish since wed night, she was rather cross when she texted me after the game. Shes not in Brisbane any more and doesn’t have good coverage on her phone or internet access it seems – I’ve left a message on her facebook page too.

  18. peachesgooner says:

I think you’re right JJ, that interview with Steve Bruce was a few days ago and it looks like the Daily Star have picked it about a bit……..

  19. JonJon says:

mrs JJ’s as beautiful and angry as ever ๐Ÿ˜‰

i bet irish was very cross peaches..especially on weds..

im currently watching the liverpool game and it a rubbish match

  20. rico says:

JJ, what is going on with you, you are being far to positive about our squad ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi peaches – thats rotten about your foot still being sore, are you going to get it x’rayed?

  21. JonJon says:

liverpool have just sat back since the goal and adebayors crap

  22. rico says:

I have the dipper match on to, i hate both so a draw would be good, with a few injuries added in ๐Ÿ˜‰

  23. JonJon says:

when i look at they way we play this season rico they are performances of a title winning team

we are smashing everyone put in front of us…we have found the right balance and some of the stuff ive seen this season is the best ive seen arsenal play…

as long as the core of the key players stay fit we’ll win the league..and so far they are staying fit..

    adebayor equalisor

  24. peachesgooner says:

I’m watching the game too……..want them both to lose of course ๐Ÿ™‚

My foot problem is called Plantar fascilitis and it won’t be better for months cos each time a walk it agravates it more ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

…..and while i’m not watching Ade scores……1-1 is ok for me ๐Ÿ™‚

  25. JonJon says:

yeah i want a draw rico..

  26. JonJon says:

that doesnt sound too good peaches…i hope it heals real soon..

  27. JonJon says:

oh dear..liverpool are in deep shit..lol

  28. rico says:

    Blimey Riley…………

    2-1 Citeh…

  29. rico says:

    2-2 goodness me ๐Ÿ˜‰

  30. JonJon says:

    a draw anyone? lol

  31. peachesgooner says:

    Who’d be a pool supporter……

  32. JonJon says:

citeh just won the occasion when we played them..thats why they beat us…but both of these teams are not CL material..

pool are in trouble and citeh are still shit..if they draw here they havent won in 6 games..thats not a team to be afraid of..

  33. Rasputin says:

A draw is what we want …. lucky, lucky pool – knowing them they’ll go on and win it now …..

  34. rico says:

    JJ, just teasing ๐Ÿ˜‰

I honestly believe this is going to be our season, I can’t disagree with what you have said, sometimes I actually struggle to beleive my eyes with some of our play – its outstanding.

peaches, that sounds painful, maybe you should just stay at home and blog every day ๐Ÿ˜‰

  35. peachesgooner says:

    Hi rasp ๐Ÿ˜›

Liverpools defending is more scary than ours ๐Ÿ˜†

  36. JonJon says:

    hi rasp…

this had draw written all over it from the start..im suprised it got to 2-2 cos it hasnt been a game full of chances..its been a poor game…

peaches i dont think anyteams defence has been really rock solid..personally i think we have the two best CB’s in the PL at the minute..maybe even europe…on current form..

  37. rico says:

Not me peaches – never ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi Rasp, I am like peaches, I want them both to lose, but a draw would be best as you say.

They both have shocking defence, bet Hughes is so glad he paid 15M for Toure, I know for sure I am glad we got 15M for him!!

  38. peachesgooner says:

I agree about our CB’s – its the little bit of panic that sometimes creeps in to the play when there are a lot of players in the area……..

  39. JonJon says:

    exactley rico..

liverpool and citeh arent that great..in fact id say neither will make CL

manutd are wobbling badly..they are picking up points but they will start to drop more and more as the season goes on..without ronaldo they arent the same team…

and chelsea will lose key key players at the acn..essein and drogba are essential to the way they play..they’ll drop points..

we have the strongest squad and we are playing really well..

the scripts been written for us this season…they’ll never be a better chance to win the league than this season and so far so good..

  40. Rasputin says:

Hi peaches / JJ – we got what we wanted then ๐Ÿ˜›

  41. JonJon says:

    good result..

  42. JonJon says:

im hearing rumours that traore will play LB..

  43. peachesgooner says:

Arse.com says Traore is playing at left-back so we all got that wrong…..or they have…..

  44. JonJon says:

    awesome team lineup..

  45. peachesgooner says:

    snap JJ ๐Ÿ™‚

  46. Rasputin says:

If he is, that can only be because of his pace ….

  47. JonJon says:

    manny
    sagna gallas tv troare
    ramsey song cesc
    rosicky dudu nasri

  48. peachesgooner says:

‘The Yummy One’ only makes the bench….anyone got the team yet

  49. JonJon says:

    that will piss on sunderland..

  50. Rasputin says:

Oh nooooo …. maybe its because Tweetypie is playing CB and he’s resting Gallas (probably Sagna too = EE RB)

  51. Rasputin says:

    Phew … what a relief …..

  52. peachesgooner says:

    Is that the line-up JJ?

  53. JonJon says:

    good bench too

vela theo denilson eboue sivestre mannone AA

  54. JonJon says:

    yeah i think so peaches

  55. peachesgooner says:

ARSENAL TEAM: Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen, Gallas, Traore, Song, Fabregas, Ramsey, Nasri, Rosicky, Eduardo Subs: Vela, Walcott, Denilson, Silvestre, Arshavin, Mannone, Ebou

  56. Rasputin says:

Ramsey not up to the pace of the game at the moment, Rosicky trying to be too clever, none of his little flicks have paid off so far…..

  57. rico says:

Tiss on Sky is raving over us ๐Ÿ˜‰

  58. Rasputin says:

Fabregas’ radar is off at the moment, his passes are finding the opposition too often …..

  59. JonJon says:

we stream went down but from what i saw we were in control…

    they’ll tire..we’ll score,

  60. rico says:

I hate days when you are very very busy, and football suffers ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ just hate them…..

  61. JonJon says:

i think we should bring AA on for ramsey soon

  62. rico says:

We need to score!! nothing like stating the obvious rico!!!

  63. rico says:

Chavs are 4-0 up, and I thought WW would get something from that game ๐Ÿ˜ณ

    And Theo ??

  64. JonJon says:

    traores struggling a little

  65. Rasputin says:

AA for Ramsey – good sub ……

  66. JonJon says:

the games becoming open..perfect for a player like arshavin..we will score…could be a 1-0 though so we need to keep it solid at the back..

  67. JonJon says:

bring theo on next..play him upfront..

  68. rico says:

Come on boys – please don’t drop points ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  69. rico says:

    BOLLOX !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  70. rico says:

I just knew Bent would score… just bloody knew it!!

  71. JonJon says:

that game in hand is now a must win game…and so is the game v chelsea…we have to hang on to them until acn comes along…

a point here will be ok..we just dont wanna get beat..

  72. rico says:

JJ, I want all three ๐Ÿ˜‰

i have no stream, was it a good goal or poo by our defence?

  73. rico says:

Off to eat my first meal of the day ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

I think it may give me indigestion… !!

  74. rico says:

That is three points dropped, shocking, bloody shocking…

In my post I wrote – if we can’t beat Sunderland we dont deserve to win the premiership, but i took it out last minute….

How could we not win today? Its beyond me!

  75. rico says:

Thats me done for the day all, strictly looms and Im a celebrity – and i’m a sad sad rico….

I am poop at match reports so I won’t do a post tomorrow…..

    Bloody Sunderland!!

  76. rico says:

    Morning Roadsters

Still haven’t seen the game from yesterday, its on Sky+ recorded but I cant bring myself to watch us lose ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

  77. London says:

    New Post

  78. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters,

    Here’s my match report ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Too many players tried to be too clever – Rosicky, Cesc and Nasri all guilty.

We were complacent and didn’t show a great enough sense of urgency from the start.

Traore did OK at left back

No blame should be attached to AW for the lacklustre performance – he’s right, we should ban November as a month and international friendlies altogether

3 points thrown away and an opportunity missed to put a comfortable gap between us and the chasing pack.

We will be no higher than 3rd by Christmas

  79. Rasputin says:

Forgot to add that Dudu is off form at the moment – bad timing as we really missed RVP
