He Never Ran Like That for £80,000 a Week.

I have to give Mark Hughes his due, Arsene Wenger couldn’t get Adebayor to play like he did on Saturday even though he doubled his wages,  as Johnny Lydon once wrote “Anger is an Energy”  and it obviously motivated Ade into the best game he has ever played.
I was angry at first at his goal celebration, mainly because he should not have been on the pitch to score a goal, but now I think it is quite funny to think that us Arsenal fans caused him so much pain that he tried so hard to get one over on us. He must really hate us with a vengeance..lol.

I never saw him stamp on Cesc’s ankle or as Rico said this morning,  he took a swipe at Song, I never saw that either. But I have been listening to Talk Crap and the worst offender for talking shite on there is that tosser Quinn,  not Nial the other fat one whose career highlight consists of scoring a hat trick against us in about 93’, he reckons RvP half deserved the stamp (although he doesn’t condone it) because he went in two footed on the initial challenge. And the Arsenal fans deserved the celebration because of the stick he was getting during the game.
The points against us were..
RvP came in two footed and could have been sent off first.
Ade was getting a kicking from all the Arsenal players.
From one angle it was hard to tell if Ade meant the stamp or not.
He only meant to stamp on his hand and it was unlucky that RvP got his head in the way

And the goal celebrations were okay because.
He never left the field of play.
He was getting stick from the Arsenal fans. (who started it?)
Arsenal fans were singing songs about his parents. (It was copied from other supporters when Ade played for Arsenal)
RvP went over to the Man City fans when he scored.
Mark Hughes even said he ran over to a section of Man City fans.. (haha.)
Thierry ran the length of the field when he celebrated his solo goal against the Spuds in 2002.

My take on it is I don’t really care if they ban him or not it won’t help us much, It will probably help man U more and It won’t get us the point we deserved. We must not lose confidence because of these two recent Manchester games we don’t need to turn on the manager or individual players just yet.
If RvP came in two footed the ref should have booked him as he saw that, but retaliation is far worse that is what we got told when Vieira got sent off for it.
I do think he meant to stamp on Robins hand and not his face. but it was still with intent.
When he ran to the Arsenal fans to celebrate, the fans should not have reacted, but what if our fans were a mob like West Ham or Cardiff fans and caused a riot after the goings on at Upton Park a few weeks ago FIFA and UEFA would have had a field day and it could have sent English football back 10 years. Also luckily there was only a few injuries there was quite a crowd surge to get on the pitch and could have crushed the fans especially woman and children .
RvP did go to celebrate in front of the Man City fans, but they were there next to the goal, not at the other end.
What would the Everton fans do if Rooney celebrated like that against them.. just clapped and cheered., yeah right. Or if Sol done it against the Spuds?
Oh and Thierry never played for the Spuds so for him to run down to there end to celebrate was wrong, but it was not a hate reaction which Ade’s was. In fact some of the Spuds even applauded him, and two wrongs don’t make a right.
I guarantee that is if Clattenburg would have sorted Ade out from the start we would not have lost.

And Mark Hughes is a knob!

Good post ave – I wish I’d saved my last comment from the previous post because it made many of the same points. Citeh have to accept huge responsibility for Ade’s actions. They put his face on the front of the match day program but somehow airbrushed it to make him look like some god-like figure. Then they sent him on separately with his own trainer to warm up in front of the crowd further setting him apart. You can imagine Hughes getting him all fired up in the pre-match team talk. By the time he took to the pitch he looked like he could bite Gallas’ head off (peaches quote!) he’s thick as the proverbial and they fuelled his already seizmic ego to the point where he wasn’t in control. If you view the slo-mo’s you will see that he tried to hurt Cesc by putting his full weight on his ankle, he pushed Song in the face in an off the ball incident and he stamped on RVP’s face….. he was like a rabid dog out of control and citeh are culpable. I don’t blame our away fans… they are by definition passionate supporters and they were provoked……

  2. avenell says:

    Thanks Rasp..

I heard he also warmed up in the arsenal end of the pitch before the game and like you say came out on his own.

I would also like to know ade’s stats for distance covered on saturday compared to his average last season.. I would say over double.

  3. Rasputin says:

It as a deliberate ploy by citeh and Hughes to pump Ade up to bursting point unleash him against our boys and unfortunately they showed their frailty by succumbing…. I am disappinted in cesc for not being a leader….. in Denilson for not learning that every time he passed the ball square Ireland intercepted….. in Song and Clichy for not doing the simple things well and in AW for playing Diaby and out wide (Diaby at all!!!). In truth, the only player who shoed any ability at Wengerball was Rosicky and he should have started the game. RVP’s goal was an individual moment of brilliance but he will never do it consistently enough to get 30 goals a season.

  4. avenell says:

I agree rasp.. I cannot wait to see Tomas and AK in the same team with Cesc.. Will arsene see it if it works?

  5. avenell says:

    Cheers Irish.. 🙂 well done.

  6. Irishgunner says:

Thanks Avenell – must read the post now 😉

  7. Rasputin says:

    Great read Irish,

That sums it all up perfectly. Two games we have lost against rated opposition may not look bad, but the fact is we should have won both as you say. We have 5 relatively ‘easy’ games ahead and must be like Chavski and get the maximum 15 points by beautiful football or winning ugly … just get the points!!!!!! Then we have the spuds away and a win there will set us back on track …. But AW just does not seem to learn from his own mistakes. There is being stubborn and there is being stupid …. I never want to call for his head, but I can feel it welling up inside me …….

  8. Irishgunner says:

This thing about RvP’s tackle warranted a kick in the face is just rubbish.

You see tackles like that every other game and what Adebayor did was cowardly.

  9. Rasputin says:

I agree ave, AK, Tomas, Cesc, Nasri, Dudu – they can all play Wengerball, we just have to hope that Le Boss gives them the chance, and if one or two are injured he looks to Ramsey, LJ or Merida instead of EE and Diaby …. flying pigs moment ……

  10. Irishgunner says:

I feel like you too Rasputin.

I’m not one for knee jerk reactions but Wenger isn’t helping himself.

  11. avenell says:

The more people get on our back the more I want to get behind the team and manager Irish, I have heard us getting slated from outsiders for a couple of weeks now and hearing it from our own on top is sickening.

  12. avenell says:

I was just reading that the company that was selling the CD with the obsene Wenger chant on it, may take Arsenal to court for getting it banned on Amazon.
You cannot make it up.. lol

  13. Irishgunner says:

I’m not going to slate Wenger Avenell – I do question him but won’t turn my back on him (although i did for 15 mins Saturday cos I was so angry).

To other fans I will always defend him, stand by him but I find myself questioning him.

I don’t get his team selections.

Avenell, there are certain fans who are on Wenger’s back even when we win. They want him to fail so they can say how right and clever they were, I want him to fix and tweak and succeed.

  14. Irishgunner says:

Avenell – Then Wenger should take the company to court for libel, simples.

  15. avenell says:

I Hope you know I didn’t mean you irish.

It’s the fans phoning in the national stations like 5 live that wind me up saying wenger has lost the plot.

  16. Irishgunner says:

I do wonder about shows like that Avenell, I listened to it once on the internet I think.

They only seem to like radical opposites:

Those who won’t question Wenger at all and those who hate him with a passion.

There never is anyone with a middle of the road opinion, a bit like myself and most others : “Love Wenger but why does he do x, y and z”

  17. avenell says:

I’m like you I admire the bloke, but I do sometimes wonder why he is so successful with the decisions he makes on team selection.

What he gets critisized for most though is lack of buying which I believe he is in agreement with the board about.
This thing about him getting bonuses for not spending and the shareholders getting rich I don’t buy it..

  18. Irishgunner says:

This is off kilter but I do wonder what Wenger does with all his money – he doesn’t seem at all materialistic.

He doesn’t seem like the type of person to have a property portfolio.

By my saying all that I agree with you about him not getting bonuses because it doesn’t fit.

  19. rico says:

    Hi Peeps

I like that post ave – very much….

You know, Lardy’s run past thirty of our players reminded me of Kanu against Chelsea – the one where he finished it by securing his hatrick – and to be fair Lardy’s deserved a goal at the end of it!

Never have I seen such pace or even skill from him whilst wearing an Arsenal shirt, so all i know from that is he will now have done the ‘one special move’ he is capable of doing each season, for us is was a wonderful goal against the spuds 😉

He won’t last, he is a big man with an equal sized ego and attitude, but he will stay at Citeh as they are the only club fool enough to pay him so much money, unless of course by January his fellow members see him for what our boys did… I am sure they will…

  20. avenell says:

Wenger buys a new stylish light brown jacket every week.

But you are right about him not seeming to be materialistic, I reckon he looks after his family, then invests a bit.. I would love to see him surprise us and buy out lady nina’s shares.. try sacking him then lol..

  21. avenell says:

Cheers rico.. life for ade was like a box of chocolates.. and they all love him..

  22. avenell says:

Actually thinking about it Forest and Ade both couldn’t walk in earlier life .. 🙂

  23. Irishgunner says:

😆 I think he just dry cleans the same jacket each week.

He only has like one daughter, she can’t take up much money. I wonder does he want to adopt me?? finance my trip 😉

  24. Irishgunner says:

I do hope his City career goes pear shaped soon – all the Citeh fans have been gloating about him on the internet (don’t think i know a Citeh fan – yet anyway get the bandwagon rolling) it’ll be so great when we finally get to say “WE TOLD YOU SO”

  25. avenell says:

I used to employ a few painters who when I took the partnership were on crap money, I gave them rises until there pay was good, bonuses, diesel money, lent them the co van, bought them fish and chips when they worked late. etc, etc.

After a few weeks there workrate went back down to what it was originally and the still nicked the toilet rolls.

So I agree again it won’t last with Ade, history says so..

  26. Irishgunner says:

I hope you learnt a lesson Avenell – never reward anyone for hard work 😉

I used to work in a factory on 12 hour shifts on minimum wage and we used to work like hell or else we got fired. We got a shift allowance bonus which upped the pay but still.

  27. avenell says:

Just reading that RvP has had a complaint about his goal celebration to the city fans..

Good ban him.. play Dudu, Arsh and Rosicky in the same team.. :).. we will piss it..

  28. rico says:

Irish, that sounds so bloody wrong – hope you didn’t stay too long there 😦

Ave – re the Robin (not so reliant these days) 😛 😛

  29. rico says:

How long did it take FIFA to charge Eduardo??

How long will it take the FA to charge Lardy ???

  30. avenell says:

Robins left foot is more of a woodpecker these days.. 😉

  31. rico says:

This is it ave 😛 😛

    Police probe Arsenal celebration

Van Persie received medical treatment after a clash in Saturday’s game
Police have received a complaint over the behaviour of Arsenal striker Robin van Persie after he scored during Saturday’s game with Manchester City.

It is alleged the striker celebrated in front of home fans at Eastlands and mouthed a swear word towards the City supporters in the stands.

Greater Manchester Police said they would speak to the fan who complained before deciding whether to investigate.

Van Persie received treatment after a clash with City’s Emmanuel Adebayor.

The Football Association has said it will examine Adebayor’s own celebrations following a goal he scored during the match, which Manchester City won 4-2

  32. rico says:

ave, that is an insult to cider 😉

  33. London says:

    Good post Ave

The idea that Wenger gets a bonus for not spending is so pathetic words fail me. The perpetrators of this nonsense and we all know who they are should stop claiming to be Arsenal supporters because they are not; they are Arsenal criticisers. There is a fundamental difference: to support Arsenal is to want to find the good; by contrast, Arsenal criticisers revel in finding and stiring up the bad.

  34. kelsey says:

    Good post ave.

I agree that ultimately hughes should also shoulder the blame.I have already given (no pun intended) this morning.

i would like to pick up on a point rasputin made about ever increasing crowd vilence which has been highlighted these past few days by the Commisoner of the met.Police. outrageous football wages, with on the whole working class fans struggling for work in these recession times,is a dangerous cocktail.

Nice article irish, could have written it myself,i agree on every point.

Finally, Rocky has an enlarged heart, swollen glands and a lump in his throat which could be anything. We are going to give him various pills and injections for just one more week. Thanks for asking ave and rico,he is one of our family, and causing a lot of distress for us all.

  35. avenell says:

    Hi London..
it’s like this other bullshit that we don’t practise shooting in training. That probably came about because in one training session that the person saw we never shot..
When I used to train sometimes we was only allowed to touch the ball twice to improve our control.. The manager was good enough not to make us do that during proper matches though..

  36. Big Raddy says:

    I agree London.

What is a supporter if they don’t actually support??

Structured criticism is fine, but I object to ‘children’ calling any Arsenal player “complete shite”. These fools aren’t supporters.

Sure some players are better than others, and some have poor games. But no-one I have ever seen in the shirt has been complete shite, and that includes Selley, Lee Chapman, Perry Groves, Ray Hankin and that CB who took over from Frank McLintock !!

  37. avenell says:

Kelsey.. sort of good news about rocky then, a least he has a chance..

13 arrested at the Villa, Birmingham game too..

  38. rico says:

kelsey – i just hope the glands go down and they take the lump with them, like you say, it could, and hopefully will be nothing – i wouldnt wish what you and yours are going through on anyone. Pets to some are just that, but i understand what you mean, one of the family indeed … stay strong

  39. Irishgunner says:

Rico – The pay was fine as long as you did shift work (days one week, nights the next) cos you got 20% added on the paycheck, I just wanted people to feel sorry for me ha ha 😉

Kelsey – I hope your dog will be okay. Its so hard to lose a pet. I’m like cats what you are with dogs.

  40. rico says:

You naughty tinker Irish, I did feel sorry for you…. 😉

  41. Irishgunner says:

The thing I don’t get is people who say they have been Arsenal fans for donkey years saying this is the worse we’ve ever been.

I’ve only been an Arsenal fan for 15 years and even I’ve seen worse – 1994 been one when we came 12th I believe, if I didn’t give up then I knew I was never going to.

  42. Irishgunner says:

I had no summer Rico, I was off college and had to work 12 hour shifts and was too tired to do anything. It happened me two summers, hardly the life of a college student – do you feel sorry for me now? 😉

Seriously though, there were married couples working there where one would work the night shift and the other the day shift, that’s tough going.

Now the factory is going, thanks Michael Dell!!!!!!

  43. rico says:

Irish – I am a 38 year fan, this is a wonderful time compared to many seasons 😉

  44. avenell says:

    and the rest.. 😉

  45. Irishgunner says:

I was going to make a cheeky comment Rico but I shall refrain 😉

    So 1971, am I correct???

  46. avenell says:

Yeah I make that .. MCMLXXI too. 😉

  47. Irishgunner says:

How long have you been a gooner Avenell?

  48. Big Raddy says:

Exactly Rico. We play in a state of the art stadium, have International star players (I think Almunia is the only non- International) and been Top 4 for ages.

Only one team can win the EPL. Coming Top 4 is not terrible – it isn’t as good as we all hope.

That said, I haven’t forgiven AW for giving up in the FAC last season. A Cup is a Cup, and he showed little respect for the FAC and the fans.

  49. avenell says:

A year earlier than that I think Irish.. I went to my first game in Feb/March 71′ against Chelsea 2-0..

  50. Big Raddy says:

Before you ask, I started going n 1960, years after Kelsey 😉

  51. Irishgunner says:

Eddie is okay for Wed 😀

  52. Irishgunner says:

    😆 Big Raddy

You all got to see Brady 😦

  53. Irishgunner says:

The UEFA Appeals Body today accepted the appeal lodged by Arsenal FC against the two-match suspension handed to striker Eduardo.

    ‘Not established’
Following examination of all the evidence, notably the declarations of both the referee and the referees’ assessor, as well as the various video footage, it was not established to the panel’s satisfaction that the referee had been deceived in taking his decision on the penalty.

    Decision annulled
Therefore, the decision of the UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body of 1 September, in which the player was suspended for two UEFA club competition matches, is annulled.

  54. avenell says:

Haha that should shut a few of the talk shite presenters up too.

  55. avenell says:

Play him on wednesday.. hat trick please Dudu.. 🙂

  56. avenell says:

I see what your 6.29 meant now Irish.. 😳

  57. Irishgunner says:

Just as well Wenger kept him “fresh” on Saturday so 😉

  58. London says:

Born is a king of Highbury

  59. Irishgunner says:

😆 i could have explained a bit more Avenell. good news though, needed that 🙂

  60. Big Raddy says:

Great news. Wonder what the GutterPress are going to make of it.

Irish I did get to see Brady, and Stapleton before him.

And of course, the great George Best.

And Pat Rice, Niall Quinn, David O’Leary, Sammy Nelson, Pat Jennings (the greatest), Terry Neil, etc etc

  61. avenell says:

Don’t forget the original king of highbury, “Charlie” “Charlie” and all that..

  62. Big Raddy says:

Maybe we need an Irisher in the squad. Not had one for a few years.

  63. Big Raddy says:

AAh…. the good old days Ave.

    Don’t start me ……

  64. avenell says:

“Stevie Stevie Morrow” was he the last?

  65. kelsey says:

adrian durham has just said on talksport, that he hopes aresenal gets knocked out in the c.l. by a cheating diving player who gets a penalty . charming.

  66. Irishgunner says:

The last two Irish players were Anthony Stokes and Eddie McGoldrick I think.

I actually got upset when Wenger sold McGoldrick cos there was my Irish link gone 😦

Think Arsenal will have to wait a bit – the current Irish crop aren’t great. Given and the one who won’t play for his country are the best of the bunch and would be the only ones good enough for Arsenal.

  67. London says:

That’s the first bit of good news we have had in a little while. The clouds are starting to clear.

  68. avenell says:

I mentioned on the last post Raddy.. I bet you are enjoying this Beatles revival/anniversary thing.

  69. Irishgunner says:

Kelsey – So he wants us to get knocked out my Liverpool after Babel dives??

    Oh wait that already happened….

Been from a land with a multitude of Celtic supporters they all agreed it didn’t affect the outcome.

  70. London says:

I will never forget the original King of Highbury.

  71. Big Raddy says:

London. Alex James or Charlie Buchan ?

Ave. Yes, I am a huge Beatles fan, and if it weren’t so pricey I would buy a copy. The loss of quality with MP3 is huge, and sadly most people listen to music with an ipod, so they don’t know how fantastic the sound of full bandwidth recording is.

    Isn’t Kwame Ampadu Irish ?? 🙂

  72. Big Raddy says:

Kelsey. Why listen to the fool? He just tries to be controversial so you get angry and phone him.

  73. Irishgunner says:

    Indeed Patrick was BR 🙂

Don’t think he ever played for the Irish seniors though.

Okay ha ha I’m bluffing – found that on wiki 😉

  74. kelsey says:

i did not phone him 😉

    Can’t buy me love

    Eduardo= daytripper 🙂

  75. Big Raddy says:

Oh and UEFA have accepted that there was contact and therefore it was a penalty. Perhaps they should look at the Scottish FA who started this circus.

  76. Irishgunner says:

Anyone else here do fantasy football? The official one?

  77. Big Raddy says:

  78. rico says:

Bloody heck, I have only popped off for a while and so much to read 😉 😉

Irish Charlie George – 1971 – he did it for me, you are spot-on 🙂

That’s just it Raddy – and nice to see you again, we have come so far as a club, AW taught us how to win again, and win silverware, now we are all getting greedy 😉

  79. Big Raddy says:

No Irish. Too intellectual for me

  80. Big Raddy says:

    Thanks Rico.

  81. Irishgunner says:

    Eduardo better start Wednesday now.

Thing is Witsel is playing so have to keep the players away from him. Apparently his suspension only applies in Belgium.

  82. Big Raddy says:

Mmmm Just opened a lovely bottle of Sangiovese and will settle down next to my beloved and watch some TV – hope there is some English crimi to mindlessly entertain us.

    Hej Hej

  83. avenell says:

Brilliant timing Big R.. and a very distinguished silence beforehand.. The Arsenal way.

  84. Irishgunner says:

Rico – Ian Wright was the reason I started supporting Arsenal and his comments since his leaving have been a let down.

Every interview or every time Brady has been a pundit he has always stuck up for Arsenal. Proper Gooner.

  85. avenell says:

I mean from Arsenal.com.. not your wine opening BR .. lol

  86. avenell says:

The only time I can remember Brady slagging Arsenal off was when he joined West Ham and said Arsenal midfield never suited him we just hoof the ball forwards.. How things have changed with Denilson in the side.

  87. Irishgunner says:

“Arsenal midfield never suited him we just hoof the ball forwards..” ha ha that’s a bit ironic seen as Brady works in the Irish set up and believe me there is no need at all for a midfield with Trapattoni.

  88. rico says:

Irish – all those hard seasons we suffered… you are lucky to have missed them 😉 😉 IW – a let down, what a pefect way to describe him, albeit so sad he is the way he is…

Enjoy your evening Raddy, it sounds like you might 😛

  89. avenell says:

I have said this before .. but on Brady’s first game for West Ham at Highbury he came running out to a standing ovation..

Then Stuart Robson came running out thinking he was going to get the same reaction… waving to the crowd.. you can imagine..lol…

  90. Irishgunner says:

Have you all seen the now infamous clip of Dunphy comparing Wenger to John Cleese and Brady saying he wouldn’t have appeared on RTE had he known about it???

I swear, since that night Dunphy has been Wenger’s numero uno fan, Brady must have had a word.

Poor old Rafa though, god does Dunphy hate Bentiez…

  91. avenell says:

Er no.. nor do I do the fantasy footie.. I must stay in more.. 😦

  92. Irishgunner says:

You’ve not seen the clip Avenell?

Benayoun was a top pick for me in fantasy football – knew he would come good

  93. avenell says:

That’s how Brady used to play.. don’t make him angry..

I liked Benayoun when he made england look crap over in Israel..

  94. Irishgunner says:

Benayoun also scored that penalty for West Ham against the Spuds didn’t he?

  95. avenell says:

Testing 123 lol.. been chucked off the main computer 😦

  96. avenell says:

Logged in now.. where is that jonjon geezer?

  97. JonJon says:

im here fella…just got in from clothes shopping…mrs jonjon has been complaining that her clothes are too tight and seeing as though its all my fault it was my responsibility to buy her some new clothes. 😦

ive just heard about dudu…great news….

  98. avenell says:

Yeah Dudu is innocent…. I cannot wait for the Alan “fat bastard” “drink driver” Brazil show tomorrow..
Glad Mrs JJ is okay.. Is she enjoying it all?

  99. rico says:

    Morning Roadsters

What wonderful news about Eduardo, just knew that result would turn out this way 😉

Off to check out the goosip and to see if Lardy has been charged yet 😉

  100. rico says:

So the home grown rule will come into effect next season :

  101. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

So what kind of a mess are UEFA in now? First they charge Eduardo for diving and now they say it wasn’t a dive. Surely whatever happened yesterday for them to change their minds should have happened at the first hearing 2 weeks ago?

The video footage that follows the play leading up to the incedent cleary shows Eduardos foot flipping after hes been touched by the Celtic goalie. Was that not available 2 weeks ago?

The Times still reckon it was a dive though …….

  102. kelsey says:

    morning rico and peaches.

I actually think that rightly or wrongly e shouldn’t have appealed,as this may open up a can of worms. This is only the second time in three years that this rule has been implemented, and obviously our lawyers found a loophole.I hope it doesn’t come back to haunt us,and the real question is on the field of play, who is actually in charge, the referee or UEFA or FIFA using retrospective judgement.

The drogba case against Barca was completely different as all the events happened after the game had ended.

  103. rico says:

    Morning peaches & kelsey

I am very sad this morning, Patrick Swayze has died, 57 years old

  104. rico says:

UEFA could never prove Eduardo’s ‘intent’ – that and just how close the keeper was, and the nasty injury he suffered previously. I think the arguement would have been based around that – and the reason for it being overturned.

  105. peachesgooner says:

Hi rico – I’m sad about Patrick Swayze too 😦

  106. rico says:

Bloody heck, Keith Floyd has died too !!

  107. rico says:

I thought he was getting a bit stronger peaches, had no idea he was that close to death – so young, and Keith Floyd was only 65 😦

  108. peachesgooner says:

I don’t understand UEFA – they should have told the Scottish FA to shut up in the first place. Someone should have used a bit of intelligence and think through what sort of appeal Arsenal were going to put in. Obviously there is psychological scarring from his injury and Arsenal were going to mention that.

Eduardo went down under a soft challenge from the goalie – I don’t believe he was playing for a penalty and funnily enough neither did the ref.

UEFA have made themselves their rulings look really stupid.

  109. peachesgooner says:

Might have to have a Dirty Dancing/Ghost fest tonight – better than watching the mancs or the chavs……

  110. rico says:

Agree peaches, it was a soft penalty indeed, and i cringed when they replayed the incident – but i can understand why he fell over 😉

The FA have until the end of today to charge Lardy – i wonder if they will?

I would rather watch Bob the Builder or Mr Blobby than them peaches 😉

  111. rico says:

The chavs and mancs i man 😉

  112. peachesgooner says:

Hi kelsey – Irish made the same point as you that it would be better for football if the ban was upheld.

Of course I’d have to agree if was a Rooney/Gerrard/Drogba/Anelka dive it would have beeen good for football for the ban to be upheld 😆

  113. rico says:

UEFA were very silly, they asked the ref to look again at the incident a comment – he did and said he would still give the penalty! Why on earth they ever charged Dudu after that is beyond me 😉

  114. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

what I don’t understand is the fact that rooney fouled another player in the Slovakian box last week.. shoved his arms in the air and got a penalty..
    That was the refs fault..

Andy “peter ” Townsend is not mentioning this and in his commetry for ITV last week was virtually sucking up to Rooney..

I can handle the ban if it was the same for everyone.. but it is an anti Arsenal witch hunt as Arsene says. That is why we should have fought the case..

  115. avenell says:

If anyone in the football world had a right to evade a tackle it is Dudu.. why start with him?

  116. avenell says:

If Steven Hunt had of dived out of the way to avoid Petr Cech’s head would he get a 2 match ban?

  117. peachesgooner says:

    Talking to yourself ave 😆

  118. rico says:

Morning ave, you are on a roll 😉

  119. rico says:

First sign of madness peaches 😉

  120. avenell says:

Suggs walking up your garden path.. same old joke..

    morning rico/peaches

  121. rico says:

    Ha ha ave 😉

  122. PDT says:

    Good morning, good people!

Great news about Eduardo! I am very glad that the truth was recognized. Dudu is not a cheat and should never have been given the two match suspension.

  123. PDT says:

The Standard Liege game is a chance for us to regain our confidence. We are a momentum team and we need to build the momentum up again. We have the players to rack up a rugby score against the Belgians, but the real question is whether Arsene will play his best team. I don’t get Arsene any more.

  124. PDT says:

I won’t be surprised if he trots out Silvestre and Mannone against Liege. Claudio Ranieri was nothing comepared to the Arsene who selects the teams today.

  125. PDT says:

This is why I have to go frequent other blogs…there’s no one to talk to here.

  126. PDT says:

OK, before I go, here’s my team for Liege.

Of course he will NEVER EVER play a team like that!

Score prediction 4-1 to the Arsenal.

  127. rico says:

Lardy has been charged – hooooooorah 😛

    Hi PDT – great team

  128. rico says:

PDT – We are still trying to spread the word to get more bloggers, but it’s hard 😦

  129. avenell says:

Same old FA.. helping Man U win the Premiership.. 😦

I hope Man citeh appeal so he can play at the weekend.. cum on hughesie!!

  130. rico says:

Are you serious ave??? I honestly couldn’t care less about the derby match, what Lardy did to Robin was criminal, he deserves all he gets… and some..

  131. avenell says:

If Man citeh appeal he can play at the weekend and the FA are allowed to add an extra match to the ban I believe.. 🙂

  132. rico says:

Ah, thats a different scenario then ave 😉

  133. avenell says:

I don’t like to speak too soon, but I am surprised that Arsenal are not charged for the fans conduct. after all it was the fans who knocked out the steward. even though any clubs fans would have reacted the same way or worse.

  134. rico says:

I commented about that yesterday ave, keep up 😉 😉

To be fair, Lardy incited the violence, but our fans were the ones rioting and if Manchester Police look into it, a few will be in doo doo…

As should those who pour beer over the Spuds heads 😉 😉 (London)

  135. avenell says:

Manchester police have issued evidence to the FA.. against Ade only hopefully..
But you know how much th FA love Arsenal 😦

  136. avenell says:

I’ve got to nip out for an hour..

  137. Irishgunner says:

    Evening all,

No Van Persie, Denilson or Almunia.

The first one isn’t a surprise, Denilson came off early and may have a knock or totally lacking in confidence but Almunia…….. has Wenger actually dropped him for been plain rubbish since the season started?

R.I.P Darren Sutherland – Irish Boxing Hero. He could have conquered the world 😦

  138. avenell says:

Yeah I heard about him on the radio this morning.. what made him do what he did?

  139. Irishgunner says:

No idea Avenell – He seemed like a really confident guy, his pro career was going well.

Suppose it’ll all come out soon, terrible loss of life whatever his demons were.

  140. avenell says:

Not a very nice find for his manager either..

  141. Irishgunner says:

He was taken to the hospital with shock… just not a nice story at all.

  142. rico says:

Hi Irish – that is such sad news – it seems today is full of sadness – three lives gone 😦

    May they all RIP

  143. Irishgunner says:

Evening Rico – indeed, and all died young too, especially in Sutherland’s case.

  144. rico says:

    Spot-On Irish – so very sad 😦

The others were too young to, but had 30+ years on Sutherland 😦

  145. Irishgunner says:

    Is Jon Jon about?

There is a lot of reports saying Arsenal fans were singing the Adebayor elephant song, can’t say I heard it myself.

City fans are complaining – though I don’t agree with it, its a bit rich considering they were singing it last season.

  146. JonJon says:

    evening guys…

hi irish…the elephant song wasnt being sung…it was the arshavin song..a handful of fans tried singing the elephant song before kick off but it dwindled quickly becuase it didnt catch on…for two reasons mainly…

1…its racist as feck..and alex song and eboue play for us.

    2..its a spud song…

but during the game it was the AK song being sung

hes 5 foot fouuuuuurrrr, hes 5 foot fooouuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrr

    weve got arshavin

    fuck adebayor

  147. JonJon says:

the simple fact is that hes hurting cos he was rejected…
the fans didnt force him out at all..no we didnt like him very much but he brought that on himself…

he still had 4 years on his contract..if wenger thought he was beneficial to the team then wenger wouldnt of sold him…wenger doesnt give in to fans demands…weve been crying out for signings for years and wenger still insists on his policy….it was wengers choice to sell ade not the fans….

ades hurting like a groom thats been stood up at the alter…and that showed in his attitude on saturday..

    the man has no class…

  148. Irishgunner says:

Cheers Jon Jon that’s what I thought.

    How you keeping?

  149. Irishgunner says:

Just wait for his career to fall apart now 🙂

  150. JonJon says:

so ades looking at a six game ban eh???

two separate charges worthy of a three match ban a piece…

if citeh appeal ade will be able to play against the red mancs but then the FA can add another 3 games on top becuase of the appeal…

so the best scenario is citeh appeal…ade plays against manure and helps citeh beat them…then he serves a nine match ban in which citeh lose every game and by the time he comes back he’ll be off to ACN and miss another 6 games..

so ade misses half the season, citeh finish outside the top 4 and ade decides hes not being loved and he wants to play for the galaxys best 11 on the moon and he’ll slag off the club and the fans until the sheiks fork out the money to blast him into space…

  151. JonJon says:

    no probs irish…

yeah im good thanks..just about recovered from my bday sesh…thanks for all the wishes everyone…

i was a little annoyed on saturday but when i calmed down and thought about it we lost another game we should of won because of individual mistakes…

almunia and clichy were the culprits mainly but we had 10 shots on target to citys 5..

    the scoreline flattered them really..

it was a case of our keeper is shot for confidence and we lacked a real finisher in the team…

we’ll be ok i think…weve got the banana skin fixtures out of the way ad now we mut show some balls and bounce back…its what champions are made of…

we have a good fixture run now until late november i think so lets start collecting three points again…

  152. Irishgunner says:

I can’t wait till he throws his tantrum and the poor citeh fans are left deluded.

They think he is a god 😯

Trouble at Metz, trouble at Monaco, trouble at Arsenal, trouble at Togo – see a pattern.

Wait till Santa Cruz gets fit and takes his place – joy.

  153. JonJon says:

oh and a brighter way of looking at things is

before the season started and we saw our fixture list…who here would have taken three draws from three away games against everton utd and citeh???

i would of…and we still have the same points as what we would if we’d have drawn those games so its gonna be ok..

manure lost almost every one of their big games last season and stillwon the league…

i said a few weeks ago that the top 4 is quickly becoming the top 6 and they willall take points from eachother…

its what we do against the lesser teams that will win us this league…

we drew and lost too many last season against the lesser teams…we need to beat them like manure did last year and let the best clubs all take points off eachother..

  154. Irishgunner says:

Do you think Almunia is injured or “injured”?

  155. JonJon says:

ive got a post lined up about ade, irish so i wont talk too much about how much trouble he is but i agree with you on that one..

  156. Irishgunner says:

That’s very optimistic of you Jon Jon 🙂

A win tomorrow night and to trash Wigan would be a good start.

  157. Irishgunner says:

I look forward to that post 🙂

  158. JonJon says:

    almiunias been dropped….

the man obviously has his mind elsewhere for some reason or another and our CL draw is more like a CC draw so wenger can chop and change with his youngsters without worrying too much…

i think hes giving mannone a chance to see what he can do whilst fab2 is out and mannys confidence is shot to bits…

the thing that wenger should have learned with ade is that if a player is in bad form —dont keep playing him becuase the fans will turn more and more against him…

its best just to give manny a break…let him sort his head out and then work his way back into the team…the fans will be behind him all the way…but if he continues toplay and play like shit he will become the new scapegoat…

wenger has to do whats right for the player and the club…

  159. Irishgunner says:

I thought that too – that he was “injured” he had a complete howler last weekend and has not been good all season.

Mannone might do okay you know. Don’t think he is as erratic as Fabianski.

Defour been out for Liege is a massive bonus.

  160. JonJon says:

    i’ll tell you what irish…

i was laughing my arse off this morning when i heard that fifa have announced by the start of next year all teams must submit a 25 man squad and 8 of them must be homegrown….

benitez has already thrown his rattle out…LMAO

but this just shows that wengers a genious…he saw this rule coming years ago and thats what hes been working on…we are more than ready for it where other teams are going to struggle…including our rivals…

ive never been more behind this team as what i am right now…

i spent most of sunday arguing with mancity bloggers on other arsenal blogs and they really pissed me off.

we need to just stick together and support the team to the max.. fuck all the other teams..

im really liking the new look arsenal..a few years ago we’d have taken dudus punishment on the chin and we’d have stayed quiet about the ade situation..

but not the new arsenal…weve used the media to our advantage and freed the arsenal one… 🙂

and straight after the citeh game arsenals top dogs allowed robin to issue a statement telling of what a tit ade is…and its worked..the media have had a field day with ade…

the gazidis machine is in full flow boys and girls…

this arsenal is the new no nonesense we cant be bullied no more arsenal…

    i love it..

  161. Irishgunner says:

Why is Wenger saying he doesn’t like the idea then or is he been a smart arse?

Chelsea are fecked with the rule aren’t they?

  162. Irishgunner says:

😆 Barack Obama has called Kanye West a “jackass” good man Barack

  163. JonJon says:

when has wenger ever told the truth irish?? 😉

he tells the world what they want to hear…

he doesnt mean it..it doesnt change our policies one bit….whereas it changes plenty of other clubs policies…

of course hes being a smart arse.. 😉

barack obama makes me laugh with the things he says..i think the US have found a politician that tells the truth.. 😉

  164. Irishgunner says:

That’s what I thought Jon Jon.

When I heard the rule, I said “ha ha, that suits us” and then Wenger says it restricts competition or something odd…

Matter of interest – Chelsea can’t have enough “home grown” players or those under 21, seen as they can’t buy until 2011 what do they do? 😆

  165. JonJon says:

i think they can find a loophole with loan deals irish…

the rule bans them from making transfers…but i dont know if loan deals count…

all chelsea need to do is say theyve ‘loaned’ a player for 18months…then make the transfer official when the ban is served…

although saying that…the other club will want payment during the ‘loan’ i cant see any club saying heres our best player-pay is when your ready…

will payments during a loan deal be classed as a transfer???

  166. Irishgunner says:

Nope Jon Jon – they can’t register any new player. If you sign a player on loan you still have to register that player for that period.

I.E. He has to be registered as a Chelsea player for the loan period.

    No loop hole there 🙂

  167. Irishgunner says:

There is a keeper they have agreed to sign but the deal has been put on hold till 2011.

As far as I’m aware Chelsea can’t bring in any new players. So they’ll need to see what their youth academy has got to offer 😆

  168. JonJon says:

    cheers irish

well thats them fecked then… 😉

  169. Irishgunner says:

    Hopefully ha ha 😀

They can’t call back the players in January they sent on a year long loan either

  170. JonJon says:

so liverpool and chelsea are fecked…

liverpool dont have an acadamy cos all kids in liverpool are out stealing wheel trims and pool dont have any money to keep spending 17mil on english players…and chelsea dont have any kids cos theyve spent the last 5 years buying all their players and letting their kids go…and they cant buy anymore

    what about citeh and spurs???

    villa will be ok

    so will we…

we have walcott, ramsey, jacky, gibbs, JET, frimpong, simpson, lansbury, hoyte, i could go on and on…

one thing that bothers me though…do players like cesc and clichy count??? theyve lived in england more than 5 years and they have come through the academies since 15-16???

  171. Irishgunner says:

Yep Cesc and Clichy count I think – some rule about them been at the club at a certain age and been there for 3 or more years.

There has to be 7 u-21 players in the 25 man squad i think is that right?

City and Spuds would be okay I reckon – not as good as us but okay.

  172. Irishgunner says:

“As of next season clubs will be required to have a squad named of up to 25 players, of which no more than 17 can be over the age of 21 and not home grown,” said Scudamore.
“The definition of home grown is trained for three years under the age of 21 by somebody in the English and Welsh professional system. Clubs will have to declare their 25 at the end of August when the window shuts and then again at the end of January.”

  173. JonJon says:

    excellent news..

good day to be a gooner..

    dudu cleared…piss everyone off

    new fifa law..piss everyone off

    adebayor charged..piss adebayor off…

  174. Irishgunner says:

Now for the Mancs and Chavs to get beat and it’ll be a great day

  175. Irishgunner says:

I’m off to watch the Manc game and have a few drinks – talk to you tomorrow Jon Jon have a good evening.

  176. avenell says:

There is no team in the premiership affected by the new rule as it has been watered down.

  177. rico says:

I wonder if the rumour about Almunia’s Mum are true?? Maybe that is why he is so off form 😦

    Hi JonJon 😛

Just popping in, bloody paperwork 😦

  178. JonJon says:

    hi guys…

trust ave to spoil the party..bah humbug 😉

was it mannys mum rico…or was it mrs mannys mum??

  179. avenell says:

i thought it was the mother in law…

seems a bit strange dropping Almunia before fab comes back..

anyone know when fab2 and nasri are going to be back ?

  180. avenell says:

didn’t take mr arsenal long to turn..

he Man City captain Kolo Toure has put the boot into his old team-mates at Arsenal for the way they treated Emanuel Adebayor before and during Saturdays game at the Eastlands, saying they all snubbed him before the game started and then picked on him during the match.

But he agreed that Adebayor was wrong to celebrate like he did in front of the Arsenal fans, but again it was because he was being jeered throughout by the supporters, while Toure himself was being applauded!

“I am astounded because he has received blows from all the Arsenal players,” Toure said in the Sun.

“Even though he was the first to go and salute them in the tunnel, even those who had an affinity with him didn’t want to shake his hand.

    “For me that is unacceptable.”

“There was a very difficult moment with the supporters,” he continued.

“At the start of the game they were whistling at him as if he never brought anything to the club. It was hard.

“I don’t caution him for his gesture although I tried to stop him and I also have apologised to the fans. It’s not to them that he should do this.

“I told him that this was not a good thing and he apologised. The problem is that they booed him while they applauded me.

“It was a reaction of pride. The whole world could have a reaction like that.”

He also says that Adebayor actually did Arsenal a favour by accepting the move to Man City, whereas all the supporters believe he was just doing it for the money.

“Certain people want others to believe he left for the money but we know he was pushed to leave. I know it because I was present,” he said.

“I firmly believe he left to bring money to the club.”

  181. JonJon says:

i dont have a clue about fab2…i didnt even know he was injured until about a week or so ago…

nasri supposed to be back at the arse end of october..

  182. avenell says:

mr wenger said he let them go because of the acn.. i had that row somewhere else.. ha ha.

  183. JonJon says:

ave kolos a turd as much as adebayor is….

but what interests me is where did he learn words like affinity and astounded???

  184. avenell says:

we should creep up the table this week.. manchester derby and chavs v the spuds. some team will have to lose points..

  185. JonJon says:

    i heard that too ave…

wenger sold them because of the ACN and their arsenal careers were almost over anyway by their performances…

all this bollox about the fans and the club needs money and lack of leaders is sour grapes cos we chose to keep gallas and nikki instead of those two tossers…

  186. avenell says:

if you remember we gave toure a roasting when he left.. and we was right.. 🙂

  187. rico says:

Ah, sorry, I heard it was his Ma, but I could be wrong – offski for me

Night all – stay safe – catch you tomorrow

  188. avenell says:

did you notice we broke through 30,000 comments tonight?

  189. avenell says:

    i’m not totally sure rico..

    night.. x

  190. JonJon says:

have you seen our fixture list ave??

if we keep playing the way we are playing (ok the city game wasnt the best but we could have should have won if we’d have took our chances) we can go on a 9-10 game winning streak…

weve got two of the hard away games out of the way so weve got time to gain momentum…we play spuds and chelsea but they are both at home…and we get to play the mancs red and blue at home in the business end of the season…

its nothing to slit our wrists over just yet and the ACN will feck chelsea and citeh right up as well

  191. avenell says:

we need to build confidence up again quick.. play ak47 and tomas.. break up the crab 3..

  192. JonJon says:

we play our strongest 11 against wigan and we smash them the same way we did pompey and everton…

and a nice win tomorrow with our strikers hitting a few would be a good start…

but your right we need nasri, rosicky and AK playing the majority of the games this season cos denilson and diaby are offering us nothing…song cant be blamed cos hes supposed to be a CB-CM but the other too are hindering the side..

  193. avenell says:

haha rooney’s got the hump been taken off..

  194. JonJon says:

ive just turned it on…and it was on about rooney with the turkish fans.. ha

  195. JonJon says:

david platt commentating on the chelsea game just said chelsea have taken their foot off the trigger..

  196. avenell says:

that valencia geezer looks crap. how much ?

  197. JonJon says:

its ok ave..utd have a 5 hour plane journey and then have a derby of all proportions at the weekend..

they’ll be knackered for the next game so all in all they could drop 6 points 😉

  198. avenell says:

ferguscum never moans when he flies them around the world for a money making friendly.. two faced tosser.

  199. JonJon says:

utd have a really shit squad….really shit

  200. Freire says:

    Hey everyone!

Ave, let me see that thing you bought, please?

  201. JonJon says:

    alright Freire..

did you see any CL footy 2night???

rooney had an arguement with the turkish fans…fergie was asked about it in an interveiw and he said…”he didnt see it”…

    fergie makes me laugh…

so it proves that wenger is not the only one who says he didnt see it.. 🙂

  202. rico says:

Morning all – don’t you just hate it when you can’t sleep!!

30,000 comments ave, is that good ;);) 😉

Just read about the fan with the laser pointing at the Manure players – not very nice!

Didn’t watch any CL football, but I see both Manure and Chelski won – just

  203. rico says:

The squad for tonight – forgive me if you have all seen it..

    Vito Mannone
    Wojciech Szczesny
    Bacary Sagna
    Gael Clichy
    William Gallas
    Thomas Vermaelen
    Mikael Silvestre
    Kieran Gibbs
    Emmanuel Eboue
    Alex Song
    Cesc Fabregas
    Abou Diaby
    Aaron Ramsey
    Tomas Rosicky
    Jack Wilshere
    Nicklas Bendtner
    Sanchez Watt

  204. David says:

Diaby is a CAM. He isnt a left Winger. Personally I would love to see Bendy play CF and Diaby right behind him….Arshavin on the left and Rosicky on the right.

I still think Diaby will be a top top player but we cant keep playing him on the left. The player himself has said he hates playing on the left.

  205. David says:

Its also time for Clichy I believe to leave the club.

    1. He is injury Prone

    2. He makes those errors like Senderos. Maybe not as blatant but surely as detrimental.

    3. He is abysmal going forward.

    4. Juve were going to pay the same thing ManCity paid us for Toure. 15m for him is good business imho.

    5. Its time to give Traore/Gibbs a fighting chance. The competition between the two is only healthy for our LB position.

  206. rico says:

    Morning David

I agree about Diaby, but in all honesty I would rather we had a player better than him, and Denilson.

But Clichy? I am not sure if Gibbs/Traore are quite ready yet to be no1 LB, great cover to have but personally I would stick with Clichy.

  207. rico says:

Off back to get some zzzzz’s hopefully

  208. rico says:

    Morning again Roadsters 😉

  209. rico says:

Off out for the morning – catch up later

  210. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

I’m feeling like our team is a complete joke at the moment. I wanted to be looking forward to a great performance tonight but I think that with players missing Arsene will choose his favourites to make up a team that will struggle to hold onto the ball in mid-field.

If Diaby has to play (unfortunately its true) then please play him behind Nikki and not in front of the back four. Diaby is a real liability as he loses possession too easily and seldom finds a creative pass.

I’d rather see Cesc and Song in front of the back four.

Tonights the night that Nikki gets on the score sheet, he’ll have Rosicky and Eduardo on the wings and between them if we keep possession the goals could be raining in.

There, I feel much better now 😆

  211. peachesgooner says:

Actually forget Diaby – Arsene won’t – and play Ramsey instead…….much better idea…….

  212. PDT says:

    Good morning!

Here’s my revised team for today :

I am betting he will go back to 4-4-2 with Mannone in goal.

Scoreline prediction also changed to 3-1.

  213. PDT says:

Another possibility (faint) is that he will play 4-3-3 with Cesc-Ramsey-Song backing up NikB-Eduardo-Rosicky.

My guess is still on the 4-4-2.

  214. PDT says:

When in doubt, Arsene plays Eboue, and he will be in doubt today, despite (and because of) the legions of injuries. Sorry for the bad pun!

  215. peachesgooner says:

Hi PDT – thats funny about playing Eboue when in doubt 🙂

Your 4-4-2 team looks a better balance with Nikki and Eduardo up front but Eboue on the wing is hopeless – can’t you find a better winger?

  216. peachesgooner says:

Why not Nikki and Diaby up front and Eduardo on the wing?

  217. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters and Roosters,

Whichever team he picks from the squad this evening we should win …… I just don’t want to see players out of position and an unbalanced side that doesn’t click and has no cutting edge up front.

Team selection, players out of position and leaving substitutions too late are my main issues with AW. He’s been repeating the same mistakes for 3 years now.

He should start with the strongest team available in the prem from now until Christmas and then see where we stand in the New Year.

  218. peachesgooner says:

Flying pigs rasp – ‘start with the stongest team available’ why should he suddenly change the habits of a lifetime 😉

  219. Rasputin says:

    Morning Peaches,

The only place Diaby can do no harm is up front. He has never, never, never been effective out wide and he has always given the ball away cheaply when played in centre midfield. The next Vieira? – don’t make me laugh!

  220. London says:

Here is my guess at tonight’s team.

    And we win 2-0

  221. London says:

    Although I would prefer

  222. peachesgooner says:

    Morning London

Diaby on the wing again aaaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh

I know its not your fault but can’t he play in the middle if he has to play at all……..

  223. Rasputin says:

    Hi London,

100% with you on your prediction and preference – with Merida and/or LJ to come on if we’re winnig comfortable

  224. peachesgooner says:

London – I like your preferred team much better, no Diaby – simples 😆

  225. Irishgunner says:

    Morning all.

Sanchez Watt is on the bench tonight – he will get on and score. Unknown quantities are the best.

Wenger won’t want to lose anymore forward men although RvP will be okay for Saturday. Eddie will start and Wenger will take him off after about 70 mins and bring on Watt.

  226. Irishgunner says:

It [the challenge on Van Persie] looks very bad. You ask 100 people, 99 will say it’s very bad and the hundredth will be Mark Hughes.

Wenger agreed with Van Persie’s post-match comments, which, despite their direct nature, were posted on the official Arsenal website. “Of course I back him,” the manager said. “In football, everybody is free to have an opinion. If somebody stamps on your head in that way, you wouldn’t say: ‘Thank you very much. Can I turn the other cheek?’ Only Jesus Christ did that.”

    😆 you tell ’em boss

  227. London says:

    Or even better

  228. peachesgooner says:

    Morning Irish

Eduardo and Rosicky to start is something to look forward to. Sanchez Watt can wriggle himself some space hopefully as long as the occasion isn’t too big for him.

Is it just me or is it strange to blood a youngster in the Champs Lge – he did it with Ramsey last season….

  229. peachesgooner says:

London – you’re getting over excited now 😆

  230. Irishgunner says:

    Morning Peaches,

    And Ramsey scored 🙂

Its away from home, he’ll be fine.

Rosicky will only get about an hour if he starts you think?

  231. Big Raddy says:

    | like London’s team.

Cesc to come on late 2nd half.

But Eboue is sure to start RM.

I don’t really care as long as we win. Last time we played there, we won 7-0 and that was without Wrightyl

  232. Big Raddy says:

Oh dear, my English is deteriorating. I had better get over to Blighty and talk to some locals.

I would like to have seen Merida travel with the team, and take TR’s place at half-time. However, AW’s tends to go with teams that on paper look unbalanced( not just on paper!), and I expect the same tonight.

Will TR start? I hope so. He is such a fine player.

  233. Irishgunner says:

I think Rosicky will start and then come off about the hour mark.

  234. peachesgooner says:

Hi Raddy – how are you 😀 Hoping for a goalfest tonight then – no more 1-1 predictions 😆

Irish – I’m sure you’re right and the plan is for Rosicky and Eduardo to play 70 mins

  235. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

rico.. 4.00 in the morning and you are having a conversation.. 😯

  236. Big Raddy says:

    Fine thanks Peaches.

Just seen the time. School starts soon & I had better saddle up !

Back later when the team is announced—-

  237. peachesgooner says:

Raddy – if you come for the Birmingham game you can meet Irish before she goes to Oz…….

  238. avenell says:

What’s up with Denilson? has he been caught and put in a sandwich spread jar..

  239. peachesgooner says:

Morning ave – how are you 😀

  240. peachesgooner says:

Maybe Arsene is excersising his rite to rest players and use some of his bench warmers ave…..

Sandwich spread jar 😆 quite good 🙂

  241. avenell says:

Not bad thanks Peaches.. I was looking forwards to this evening.. then I came on here and started to read the dreaded names .. Diaby, Eboue, Bendtner on the wing.. 😦

What about yourself? not working today..

  242. Irishgunner says:

Four weeks Saturday Peaches 😀 – I need to pack, what to take what to take????

  243. peachesgooner says:

I’m waiting for my hair to dry before I go and muller a tree in my front garden …..

Whatever we want and say, hes going to play Diaby on the wing isn’t he 😦

  244. avenell says:

Yep … and bendtner on the other.. 😦

  245. Irishgunner says:

I think he’ll play Diaby in the middle. Like So:

    ————— Mannone ——————–

    Sagna ——- Vermaelen —– Gallas —– Clichy

    —————- Song ———————-

    —— Fabregas ———- Diaby ————

    Bendtner ——— Eduardo ———– Rosicky

So he’s half way between midfield and the wing 😆

If he switched back to a 4-4-2 it might work better

  246. peachesgooner says:

I’d rather see Eduardo on the wing and Nikki up front myself with Diaby tucked behind Nik. LIke so…

Agree a 4-4-2 is probably better with Diaby and Nikki up front

  247. Irishgunner says:

Toure told Sky Sports: “Adebayor was crucial against Arsenal. He’s already apologised and the matter is closed for us,”
“He shouldn’t be banned. The referee gave him a yellow card. The Van Persie incident was just an accident.”
“We’re behind him and he’ll score so many goals this season because he’s devoted to the club and he loves his football again.”

Shut up already Kolo Toure “loves his football again” “devoted to the club” 🙄

  248. peachesgooner says:

Just had a call from kelsey who now has 2 dogs in the wars. The new young dog discovered a wasps nest the other day, was stung to pieces and is in a very bad way 😦 Rocky the older dog is also not good and this was all followed by a trip to the dentist which is a saga in itself.

Hope the game tonight cheers you up kelsey 🙂

  249. peachesgooner says:

Well said Irish 😆 Now they’re both planks 😉

  250. Irishgunner says:

Awww poor dogs 😦 Hope they get better

Our cats are getting bullied by the chickens 😆

  251. Big Raddy says:

    How sad about the dogs.

When I took my dog to Italy, we gave him a bell so that the snakes would hear him before he trod on them. Worked a treat, but I am unsure about the hearing ability of Wasps.

It is sad to read that garbage from Kolo. Obviously he had to support his mate, on which subject…..

It is clear that the reason for Ade’s departure was NOT purely financial, it may well have been an attempt to improve the atmosphere in the dressing room. Kolo & Ade are good friends, and I can imagine that Kolo was influenced by the Togo Twat – we heard rumour of Ade’s neighbours taking him to court for his unruly behaviour, which indicates that the problems were not confined to Arsenal.

I cheered when we got shot of him, and I still feel the same way.

  252. coadsi says:

Good day all, first time posting here. Interesting comments earlier about Kolo Toure. I lost all respect for him after he submitted a transfer request in January when the team had a number of injuries and needed him. better if Kolo shut it and only be considered a fool.
I am still happy we sold Ade no regrets. Ade is like that unattractive girl with a bad attitude that u knew ages ago and would not give the time of day. then after X years u happen to see her again and it looks like she had a makeover but then the attitude remains, so u still dont even bother giving he the time of day. STILL NO REGRETS

  253. avenell says:

Hi coadsi.. welcome to Avenell Road .. sorry for the delay you can blog with freedom now.

  254. coadsi says:

    Thank you avenell much appreciated

  255. avenell says:

I always wonder if Kolo put Yaya off from signing too.

Or Mr Wenger thought 2 brothers in that dressing room as it was last year was not a good idea.

  256. Irishgunner says:

Toure also made a comment about how Adebayor should be angry towards Wenger and the Arsenal board not the fans.

Anyone else think Toure himself feels angry towards the above mentioned?

  257. coadsi says:

Irish i think he indeed feels angry. i think he prolly wanted the captaincy. he prolly saw himself as the senior person, only invincible remaining blah blah blah…….

  258. avenell says:

Which side of the fence was Eboue on?

  259. peachesgooner says:

Hmmmmnnnnnn – thats very deep Irish, why should Toure be angry with Wenger and the board?

With Wenger I can understand as he appointed Gallas captain over Toure or Gilberto……but the board?

  260. peachesgooner says:

Eboue is a dope so I don’t think he has any influence…

  261. Irishgunner says:

Think you are right Coadsi – also he probably say it as Wenger picking Gallas over him, which was the right call imo.

Eboue is probably on the fence ha ha they all like him at Arsenal though

  262. Irishgunner says:

Wait to see if I can find the quote Peaches

  263. Irishgunner says:

“Certain people want others to believe he left for the money but we know he was pushed to leave. I know it because I was present.

“I firmly believe he left to bring money to the club.”

Toure, however, hinted that Adebayor should have aimed his reaction towards Wenger or the Arsenal board rather than the fans.

He added: “I don’t caution him for his gesture although I tried to stop him and I also have apologised to the fans. It’s not to them that he should do this.

“I told him that this was not a good thing and he apologised. The problem is that they booed him while they applauded me.

“It was a reaction of pride. The whole world could have a reaction like that.”

  264. avenell says:

I’m not saying Eboue had influence, I mean if he was best buddies with Ade and kolo, he’s a bit isolated now.

  265. Irishgunner says:

I think Eboue is buddies with everyone Avenell they all seem to like him

  266. avenell says:

I just wish some of his buddies could tell him to stop the cheating..

  267. avenell says:

What time is KO is it an hour early?

  268. avenell says:

No ignore that.. it must be sky starting there coverage early..

  269. coadsi says:

I remember him saying after he left that there were no leaders at arsenal. well now he has his hearts desire as captain of cithe.
all of a sudden kolo is a fanacier saying arsenal sold Ade and him for the money (because they did not want to leave) while wenger said
“Only he can say if he will regret leaving. All I can say is that is life and professional football players move on.

  270. avenell says:

Why are we on sky.. what happened to ITV2?

  271. Irishgunner says:

Only Liverpool are on UTV – I have to find a dodgy stream and then watch extended highlights on rte 2 of anything I might have missed 😦

  272. Big Raddy says:

F’ing good jobAve, Ebway is dumb enough without the TT’s influence.

Why can’t these guys just shut-up …..”hell has no fury as a woman scorned” (W.Congreve) come to mind.

Anyway, big game tonight and the GK situation raises it’s ugly head. Why the hell are we reduced to playing a 21 y.o? Any other team would have taken an old boy on loan, or even signed someone for a year. David James would have been a fine signing.

    We should buy Akinfeev

    More crass bad management.

  273. avenell says:

I don’t know why I am talking about sky.. nobody lives over here who’s on..lol.

Is it on the box in Denmark Raddy?

  274. Irishgunner says:

If you’re good enough you’re old enough.

Akinfeev and Casillas broke into their teams very young. Not saying Mannone is anything like them but give the lad a chance. He might do okay.

  275. Big Raddy says:

    Me too Irish.

  276. Irishgunner says:

I hate stream BR – in particular when some else decides to use the internet and take all my bandwith…..

  277. coadsi says:

He might not be a Sergio Asenjo (who is only 20) but i would not complain about the age. in fact i would prefer Szczesny to Mannone (based on pre-season performances)

  278. Big Raddy says:

No Ave. Well…. it is but after the Barca game (11.15 over here), so I don’t know whether to watch Barca and not touch the laptop to find out the score, …. No, I will never do that …. I will be too concerned about us, and then ruin my enjoyment of both games.

    If you get my meaning

BTW. Sam Cooke was a genius,. The Portrait of SC is jt brilliant. As is anything by Blue Nile………. tonight’s listening pleasure.

  279. Big Raddy says:

We would know if they were the real deal Coadsi (why did you choose that name??). Having said that Szczesny is getting fine reviews

  280. Irishgunner says:

Hopefully Mannone won’t get the jitters – that’s the benefit of having an older, experienced goalkeeper as BR said we should have.

An early save/catch for him to give him confidence will do nicely.

  281. Big Raddy says:

What interests me here is that MC clearly think Ade stamped on RvP otherwise why not defend the case? In which case, how can Hughes continue to defend Ade? Particularly in light of RvP’s statement which proves emphatically that Hughes and Ade are lying.

Do you remember when WG talked of problems with a young player? We all knew that Ade hated RvP, and vice versa. They are both hotheads.

  282. Big Raddy says:

This is a huge game for Mannone and if he fecks it up, it could ruin his career. However, the opposite is also true.

    Forza Mannone !!

  283. Irishgunner says:

Do you think Gallas meant Adebayor?

At the time I thought it was Bendtner, then Van Persie but maybe it was Adebayor. Van Persie and Gallas seem to get on okay, don’t they?

  284. coadsi says:

BR just a combination of names. MC knew they had no case thats why they decided to leave it alone imo. Hughes knows Ade is thick and cant defend himself to save his life. he (Hughes) is finding out just how thick Ade is now, as he will miss the manure game.

  285. peachesgooner says:

I agree that at first I thought it was Van Persie but I now reckon it was Ade. From the start of the season the players all looked more comfortable and happy with each other…….of course thats easy when you’re putting goals away for fun ……..

  286. avenell says:

I’m sure Gallas mentioned some 25 year old, so it wasn’t bendtner.

  287. Big Raddy says:

Hi Peaches. I always thought it was Ade.

RvP is married, has a child – not the party party boy that Ade clearly is.

Though from the number of pics of Nik B in Danish papers with a bottle in his hands – perhaps it was him !!

  288. Big Raddy says:

    Predictions for tonight?

I am going 0-2 (to the men in the white hats)

  289. avenell says:

I was going to say for 0-2 .. but I will go for 1-3..

  290. Big Raddy says:

Ave, Want to buy my 0-2 ?

  291. peachesgooner says:

    I’m going for 0-3 please 😛

  292. Big Raddy says:

    So we are positive !!

Come on you rip roaring Gunners

  293. peachesgooner says:

Now I’ve bigged up the attack and feel happy that Song, Gallas and Vermaelen can cope lets hope the Belgians want to play football 😉

  294. Big Raddy says:

    Off football.

Anything happening with the daughter’s band?

  295. avenell says:

Haha I owe PDT now for the 1-3.. I’ll see if there is a deal on at the last minute like Arsene does. 😉

  296. avenell says:

Mannone, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song, Fabregas, Rosicky, Bendtner, Eduardo, Diaby

Bench: Szczesny, Sagna, Wilshere, Watt, Gibbs, Ramsey, Silvestre

  297. JonJon says:

    hey guys…

    i just seen the lineups..

thats a good team…i just hope cesc plays with song and diabys in the hole and not the other way round…

this team is the closest weve come so far to a team i want to see… 😉

    eboue gallas vermalen clichy

    cesc song

    rosicky diaby dudu

  298. Rasputin says:

    Hi Roadsters / JonJon,

I hope Diaby falls down a big hole and is never seen again 😉

ave – put me down for 2 nil also….

citeh and Ade have ‘reluctantly’ (haha) decided not to contest the charge of violent conduct = they’ve done a deal to settle for a 3 match ban as it could have been increased to 5 if they had appealed……

  299. JonJon says:

    hi rasp..how are ya mate

diabys a victim of the sqaure pegs and round holes disease thats sweeping through our club…

like bendtner and walcott..if you play players out of position your going to get dodgy performances….

if diaby is in the hole tonight with rosikcy and dudu out wide we should see the best of him…

also…nikki is target man tonight…so we should see the best of him as well..

hopefully rvp will have a few weeks out and nikki can show the boss hes the man for that position…hes said it enough over the last few days now its his time to shine…

  300. avenell says:

Anyone notice Mr Kenyon has resigned today.. Is that to help the Chelsea transfer appeal..

“we haven’t even got the man who caused the problem anymore”

  301. JonJon says:

has he really resigned or has roman put him in the concrete slippers???

and i thought it was arneson who was their youth technical man??

  302. avenell says:

Kenyon does the deals I thought.. Arnason plays with them once they have signed..

  303. avenell says:

Where are these new posts?.. that’s 3 you’ve threatened.. 😉

  304. avenell says:

    Bring back Almunia.. 😦

  305. JonJon says:

ive got two in the pipe line…but its just getting them finsihed and putting them on…ive had little time recently…ive been a busy bee but i’ll get them up over the next few days..

  306. Rasputin says:

    Hi JonJon,

    1 nil down as I speak – Eduardo’s mistake …..

  307. Rasputin says:

    Make that 2 nil….

  308. avenell says:

No one predicted this one.. 2-0

  309. Rasputin says:

I did ave – did you misunderstand me?

  310. avenell says:

At least we have Diaby on the wing.. 🙂

  311. Rasputin says:

    Wing and a prayer

  312. avenell says:

I never predict an Arsenal loss.. 😉

  313. JonJon says:

    im having bad vibes

  314. Freire says:

    Does anyone have some stream?

hello all, bloody 2 nil :S

  315. Rasputin says:

I’ve just had this ridiculous idea .. maybe we should ave bought a couple of quality players in the summer…….

  316. avenell says:

Hi Freire.. try this it works after a while..

  317. JonJon says:

    mmm..rasp maybe we should…

friere..you dont want to see it mate

  318. Rasputin says:

We need to get one back before half time …….

  319. avenell says:

I bet Ade s sitting at home pissing himself..

  320. Freire says:

LOL..Jon, i’m with Arsenal wherever they are!
    Thanks, Ave

  321. Rasputin says:

10 headless chickens on the pitch at the moment. Why was Sagna ‘rested’ when it is Clichy who keeps buggering up?

  322. Rasputin says:

Clichy is having a nightmare … Gallas not much better. Where is captain cesc?

  323. JonJon says:

the sad thing is that since the manure defeat weve gone into shock…these players were supposed to have matured…

yet even the mature ones look like they are shitting themselves

cesc looks less and less of a captian and more and more unhappy every game

  324. avenell says:

Diaby ain’t that good is he…. really.

  325. Rasputin says:

I hate Diaby … he’s just plain thick … why is it everyone says he is so gifted?

  326. avenell says:

He is like Walcott.. one good piece of work a season.. then lives on it..

  327. JonJon says:

yep..agree with you guys..i think we all said this was diabys last chance this season and ive tried to stick by him (sometimes) but so far it looks like he’ll never make it…

  328. Freire says:

bad … No stream for me today :\
    Does anyone have another one?

  329. avenell says:

Bring Jack on .. he cannot do any worse..

  330. JonJon says:

    im shocked at clichy..

he was shit last year and hes been worse this year so far…

  331. JonJon says:

we are panicking…the passes are too hard…

we need abit of magic to change the tie..but without AK who will do it??

  332. Rasputin says:

Wenger – if you’ve got any brains .. get that twat Diaby off the f****g pitch

  333. avenell says:

    TR7 will..

    I’m looking for you friere..

  334. JonJon says:

clichy and diaby for the chop at the weekend???

  335. JonJon says:

clichys just as bad rasp…if not worse

  336. JonJon says:

    well played nikki

    now come on lads..

  337. Rasputin says:

You’re right JonJon – I said that 10 mins ago. Clichy has not been good for 2 years. Cesc is playing very deep and we keep putting in crosses and not attacking te ball in the box …

  338. avenell says:

Friere that stream works every now and again .. keep refreshing it..

  339. Rasputin says:

We’ve got that ‘afraid to have a shot’ disease again ….

  340. JonJon says:

they are working harder…forcing us into mistakes…weve no composure no confidence…

we need the half time whistle and then an early goal..

  341. JonJon says:

    yes yes yes…

    well done son..

  342. Rasputin says:

We didn’t deserve it but …. hhhoooooorrrrraaaahhhhhhh!!!!!

  343. avenell says:

We are going to do a chelsea.. goals on 45′ and 90′

  344. JonJon says:

no we didnt..but we needed someone to do something and nikki did it..

that goal will give us the world of confidence..wenger can give them a talking to and we’ll see that cocky swagger again in the secong half…

    4-2 victory

  345. avenell says:

Why is there so many scotsman football pundits?

  346. Rasputin says:

Rosicky is the new Fabregas! Wy does cesc keep floating balls into the goalkeepers arms?

  347. Rasputin says:

    Clichy must be rested …. he’s a liability ….

  348. avenell says:

    we need another one soon..

  349. avenell says:

shirt pulling is no longer a bookable offence then..

  350. JonJon says:

rosicky has always been a better allrounder…

his passing can match cesc too..

we really needed to score earlier than this but i’ll settle for a draw..

an away draw in europe is a good result….as long as we win all our home games

  351. Rasputin says:

We need to have a shot to score a goal. Cesc’s delivery from set pieces is poor..

  352. JonJon says:

    well played nikki

    nice and direct

  353. JonJon says:

does cesc want to play for us…

since he got back from spain he hasnt give a toss…

hes off to barca in jan i reckon

  354. JonJon says:

ramseys not that great when he comes on as a sub

id put jacky on and go for it

  355. Rasputin says:

Ramsey to come on – not for Rosicky please … make it Diaby …

  356. JonJon says:

    thats a poor decision…

  357. Rasputin says:

Why the f**k do we keep putting it out wide when we can’t cross and nobody attacks the ball in the box?

  358. Rasputin says:

Fabregas should come off – he’s woeful

  359. avenell says:

    Jacks coming on. 🙂

  360. Rasputin says:

    I’ll take it – who’s bunged the ref 🙂

  361. avenell says:

Kin’ell offside.. handball.. lucky arsenal.. 😦

  362. avenell says:

Were getting all our karma in the same game lol..

  363. Rasputin says:

Now concentrate, concentrate concetrate – we’ve been lucky and got out of jail

  364. JonJon says:

    thats character…thats toughness…

    and abit of luck 😉

  365. avenell says:

it’s character when it’s the dippers.

  366. avenell says:

  368. JonJon says:

    ramsey the right move then??

  369. avenell says:

wtf is diaby doing still on the pitch?

  370. JonJon says:

just throwin that into the mix…

not that i think hes done anything but we all were shocked when he came on but weve done better since

  371. JonJon says:

    vermys been good again

  372. avenell says:

They were knackered when he came on and the momentum had already changed..

  373. avenell says:

MOTM for us.. he will be captain one day..

  374. coadsi says:

Guys can any of u do a player ratings for me please?

  375. JonJon says:

    yeah agree with that

i always thought we would win you know…even when we had that start i thought we’d come back…

buts thats a fantastic come back…

2-0 nil down inside 5 mins , away in europe and they battled back…

    they did it..

  376. avenell says:

    mannone 5
    Eboue.. 6
    Song 5.5
    Dudu 4.5..

  377. coadsi says:

    thanx avenell

  378. JonJon says:

niki was the man for me tonight…

we needed to score…we were in the shit and your strikers job is to get you out of that shit…goals change games and nikki s goal changed the game…

  379. JonJon says:

    hi coadsi..

didnt you get to watch the game…it was a good comeback mate

  380. avenell says:

Are you going to see the game coadsi?

  381. avenell says:

How do we do that jj? lol..

  382. JonJon says:

mate it happens all the time 😉

  383. coadsi says:

I did not get to see it as i am at work at the moment but i will watch the replay later. so basically, Verm, Beny and rosicky did well?
despite the early goals how did Don Vito do?

  384. coadsi says:

    *Beny= Bendy

  385. JonJon says:

i still cant get over that…

    we were beat…what a win..

  386. JonJon says:

he didnt really have much to do coadsi..

the goals shook him and he looked nervous with kicking but gallas and vermy protected him pretty well…

  387. avenell says:

He never had to do much.. pick the ball out of the net.. a dodgy throw.. don’t think he made a save in anger.

  388. JonJon says:

clichy was shit by the way…and cesc and diaby werent much better…

  389. JonJon says:

ave, if liverpool, manure or chelsea had comeback underthose circumstances they would be the favorites for the cup…

we have had some good press recently..i wonder if they lick our arse after that

  390. avenell says:

have we.. I haven’t seen it.. who by?

  391. David says:

    What a great game

  392. coadsi says:

thanx guys. so basically we played like crap and won. well i am never satisfied when we play terrible but i wont rant as i was always said we shud be able to win games even when we play like crap.
Cesc seem to be only interested in playing for Spain and Barca these days

  393. JonJon says:

after the citeh game they should have been pounding us about losing to citeh…but they were more interested in saying what a tosser ade is..

    dudu got a reprieve…

we havent been a bad week in the PR department

  394. avenell says:

Ade got what he deserved it doesn’t help us in fact the press etc blamed our fans.. and they said arsenal even appealing against the dudu thing was a disgrace..

You must see and hear different programs and news.

  395. avenell says:

Coadsi, I hope your last sentence isn’t true.. 😦

  396. coadsi says:

me too ave, but he just dont appear to be interested anymore.
so clichy to have a chest infection this weekend or will it be his back that will keep him out?

  397. JonJon says:

i think weve done alright out of it..they’ll be creaming over that comeback

  398. London says:

Why do it the easy way when you can do it the Arsenal way.

I don’t feel particularly inspired so someone else can have the pleasure. See y’all tomorrow.

  399. avenell says:

There you go jonjon headline news on ssn eduardo could have been suspended but he scored.. good press..

  400. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

    Anyone about?

While I raged about how Diaby was unable to complete a pass and Cesc was on poor form last night it seems I missed the point – our new tactics are all about touching the ball as many times as possible without being particularly creative…..hmmmmnnnnnn.

  401. Big Raddy says:

We were creative at OT and lost. So I am happy with this new form of Wengerball (not).

However having watched the game again. We were not so bad, OK we didn’t create much, but they did park the bus after 5 minutes and worked hard to stop us. Thankfully SL ran out of steam and got punished.

That said, Diaby really had an appalling game for the third time in a row. Surely AW can give Ramsey a start and if he struggles bring Diaby on. I just do not see what AW thinks Diaby brings to the game. OK he is a big lad, has physical presence but he doesn’t use it, hardly wins a tackle, hardly wins a header, is rarely in good position to receive a pass, so what is the point.

Clichy clearly needs a rest and some time to re-assess. He is a shadow of the player he was 2 seasons ago.

  402. peachesgooner says:

    Morning Raddy

Agree about Clichy – Gibbs can give him some competition for his place and that can’t be a bad thing. At the beginning of last season I thought that Clichy was taking on a lot of the responsibilty for the problems between Gallas and Toure and so often found himself needing to do too many jobs but i’m not sure what his excuse is now.

That said, we love him for his pace and he has been one to come out and say he wants to stay at Arsenal forever. I think that with either Arshavin or Nasri in front of him on the wing he’ll play with more confidence in his team-mates.

  403. London says:

A view from an Arsenal supporter

It wasn’t as pretty as we were expecting but neither was going two nil down after 5 minutes. At this point, many a team would have folded, but I now see this game for what it really was: as a magnificent fight back.

  404. peachesgooner says:

Morning London – I agree whole heartedly with that sentiment. Are you choosing your words carefully or hung-over?

  405. London says:

    Morning Peaches

I think I was trying to put a brave face on it. I’m not that much of a lush, I never drink unless there is the letter “Y” in the day 😉

  406. peachesgooner says:

🙂 I thought you were gutted from your comment last night 😦

There are many comments around and about discussing how if it was the mancs that fought back from 2 nil down they would be lauded as the greatest team ever…….

Is it good or bad that Rosicky reminds of days gone by when we were a team filled swashbuckling players?

  407. Irishgunner says:

    Morning all.

Only got to see the highlights (but I had my own personal commentator 😉 ) but delighted with the comeback. Great 3 points.

  408. peachesgooner says:

Morning Irish – its a good service isn’t it that personal commentator 😉

  409. Irishgunner says:

    Brilliant ha ha

Eamon Dunphy is frightening me. Last night again he stood up for Arsenal 😯

    1. How can Wenger compete with the big boys without money.

    2. Excellent result for Arsenal because Liege are a good side.

    3. How happy he was for Eduardo to score because he got such a bad doing in the media and he actually thought he didn’t really dive at all.

Number 3 freaked me out most.

  410. Big Raddy says:

    What freaked you out Irish?

    That Dunphy told the truth?

  411. Irishgunner says:

That Dunphy is backing Arsenal so much Big Raddy. he used to have a go at Wenger every single time he could – now he is his numero uno fan.

Believe me-two seasons ago Eduardo who have been the anti-christ.

I firmly believe Brady said something to Dunphy.

  412. Irishgunner says:

I’m trawling around the internet and maybe I missed something but did Arsenal win or lose last night?? I’m full sure we won, others seem to think differently!!

  413. Big Raddy says:

Sorry Irish, been involved elsewhere on that very subject.

I have watched the game again today, and am amazed the media haven’t started that lucky Arsenal crap again. We won, we came back from 2 down, played well within our capabilities.

    Am I happy? …… Yes. 🙂

  414. Irishgunner says:

That’s the spirit Big Raddy 😀 Great win with a patched up team.

I’m writing a refute of Martin Samuel’s crap article on how bad Arsenal fans are at the moment.

  415. PDT says:

Good morning! Hope someone’s around today, for a change.

  416. PDT says:

After reading the comments, I realize that everything I have to say has been said already!

Note to myself – get in and post before the rest have woken up!

  417. PDT says:

Happy that Eduardo got a goal, even if it was off his knee.

When will Gallas score with his foot?

  418. PDT says:

One more game till AA23 is back. Looks like AA23 is even more important to us than DB10 was.

Plus Theo should be back soon. Wonder how he’ll fit into the new system.

  419. PDT says:

I don’t think Diaby can play in a 4-3-3. He can fit as a second striker in a 4-4-2, which means tat he can only play Carling Cup for now.

  420. PDT says:

Looking forward to seeing Senderos in the Carling Cup.

Wondering what the Carling Cup team will look like? Here’s a guess

    And we beat WBA 4-0.

  421. Irishgunner says:

Diaby is going to keep playing PDT in the 4-3-3

  422. Irishgunner says:

Forget the last post – article was so crap I deleted it 😳

  423. Irishgunner says:

Denilson is out for “a few weeks”

  424. Irishgunner says:

Togo Twat out for three games against Mancs, Fulham and West Ham

  425. peachesgooner says:

Irish – good thing i read it when you told me to then 😆 I always liked Martin Samuels when he was on The Times – its bizarre he was always pro-Arsenal until he moved to the Daily Mail……….

  426. rico says:

    Hello Roadsters

    New post is up

  427. kelsey says:

    Evening all,

i had a lot on yesterday and only caught the highlights. Lucky they were all wearing dark shorts in the first 5 minutes. Felt sorry for Mannone,he was a bundle of nerves to start with and could have saved the first goal, which though a mistake by Eduardo, originally stemmed from Clichy giving away a corner.Poor overall performance, but the pitch was bone hard and that didn’t help much.We do make life difficult for ourselves sometimes. The Liege crowd were really like an extra man.I will not critize anyone but I would give credit to Vermaelen once again, Rosicky, so pleased to see him again and Gallas after a nervous start. Not our best performance, and i said beforehand I thought it would be difficult, though not expecting the initial 5 minutes.Sometimes you have to win ugly.
