If Things Don’t Change, They Will Stay the Same.

So it is the last day of the transfer window, last year I sat up until midnight and joined in the frenzy as the window closed, believing that Arsene would make that last minute signing.
I wanted Alonso badly. I was to prove correct in my admiration for the player, Liverpool’s best player of last season and since he has joined Real he is outshining Ronaldo by a considerable mile. It is no coincidence that the Dippers have started off the pace without him.

Does anyone really think we will sign anyone? All the trails we were pursuing seem to have hit a dead end. The difference this year is we have got used to the fact that when Arsene says it is unlikely we will sign anyone, he sort of means it’s unlikely that we won’t sign anyone.
Before he was being coy and always gave us a little something, now unfortunately that little joke between Arsenal supporters has worn thin.

But the good news, I feel that the old Arsene is back, that glint in his eye is back, he looks 10 years younger than he did last season. Perhaps Lazy bones and Toure were affecting him too and now he is happier in his work. The interview that he gave to Sky after the Man U game was pure comedy, although he was disappointed he was in charge of the situation and he was toying with the interviewer last year he may of said something out of place.
At the end of Saturday’s game where Arsene was sent to the stand was pure classic too, he reminded me of Michael Jackson in the Earth Song video, first he stood like Jesus, then crossed his arms in a show of defiance. What bottle it must of took to stand up there in front of the baying Man U fans who have been abusing him throughout the game…. Er as usual.. er FA. anyone???

So my fellow Roadsters…. Is there anyone you fancy or have we been linked to anyone with just over 24 hours to go until we know the squad we are going with to win the Premiership and Champions League double.

    Morning again Roadsters..
    Just a few observations… 🙂

  2. Irishgunner says:

I think that the window stays open till tomorrow eveing doesn’t it?

I e-mailed the FA about the chanting, don’t think I’ll hear anything back.

I dunno will we see anyone, I’m not going to get worked up like last summer.

  3. avenell says:

    Morning Irish..

    Yeah 5 pm..

I was thinking of doing complaints widget >>>>
With direct email adresses to the FA, Uefa, the beeb, Talk crap etc..

Even Talk Sport have got fed up with the what about Torres, what about Rodney dives from Arsenal supporters and admitted they have opened a can of worms on that one..

  4. Irishgunner says:

    I think that’d be a good widget 🙂

I bet I hear not from the FA – I told them they are as bad as the rest, only hearing what they want to hear.

  5. avenell says:

I will gather that info and give it a go Irish..

Are we actually linked to anyone at the moment?.. Newsnow is dead as a dodo..

  6. Irishgunner says:

Just the old Chamackh, Vieira and Matuidi rumours and that seems to be it.

  7. JonJon says:

    im back

vieira and chamkaka are linked ave….van der vart also but the chamkaka one looks the most likely..its got a Arshavin and nasri vibe to it…

  8. avenell says:

What about other clubs? any big news?

  9. Irishgunner says:

Heitinga (Dutch dude from Atletico Madrid) gone to Everton.

    Castillo gone to Wolves.

    James leaving Pompey apparently.

    So no big news 🙂

  10. JonJon says:

    everton still need another defender…

lescotts gone and jag’s injured until xmas….so senderos could still be off…

  11. avenell says:

Not James to the Spuds lol..
‘arry is determined to skint them out.haha.

  12. JonJon says:

modric broke his leg so they’ll sign a replacement…

  13. avenell says:

Oh yeah.. I hate that Lee Bowyer.. 😉

  14. JonJon says:

westham reject 9mil from fiorentina for matty upson

  15. Irishgunner says:

C’mon Arsene cheer us up with another good signing – c’mooooooooooooooooooooooooooon.

  16. JonJon says:

sunderland have 12mil bid accepted for hulls michaelturner… lol

  17. Irishgunner says:

Jon Jon – There are rumours that Frazier Campbell is going to Hull as part of that deal – he only joined them a month ago ha ha

  18. JonJon says:

i think we’ll see chamakh and vieira irish….and if senderos goes another CB…

heres a question…does anyone think wenger still sees song as a CB??? he can play there yes but do we think wenger values his contribution now as a midfeilder????

i do..i think hes made that anchor role his own…weve got nobody else who can do what he can do in the middle so i think he’ll be one of the first names on the team sheet…in midfield

  19. Irishgunner says:

I think AW sees Song as his answer to Yaya Toure.

Not a midfielder, not a CB – a bit of both.

Everytime Gallas or Vermaelen go off upfield – Song is there to fill in.

  20. JonJon says:

    frasier campbell??? lol

  21. JonJon says:

    yeah irish..

thing is a good team has good individuals but a great team has good combinations…

that triangular combo of gallas vermy and song is excellent…our defence looks assured and strong…

couple this with the cesc nasri and rosicky combo and we have total defensive and attacking balance…

and with a player like AA who can do what he does we will be a strong strong force…i like this 433..

its all about rotating at the right times and keeping our key players fit for 85% of the season…

  22. Irishgunner says:

Don’t laugh at Phil Brown Jon Jon – he’ll say you spat at him and the FA will charge you with misconduct. UEFA will possibly have to get involved as well.

  23. JonJon says:

hahah irish…i’ll just keep him sweet and offer him a free sunbed..

  24. Irishgunner says:

You know who I think will get great go out of the 4-3-3 formation?

    Carlos Vela!!!!

He shouldn’t have played for Mexico – silly boy.

  25. Irishgunner says:

Give him batteries as well for his X-factor microphone come earpiece and you’ll be sorted.

  26. JonJon says:

velas one of the reasons why i dont think we need another striker…

to state the obvious we only need three strikers in a 433…

we have dudu, rvp, nikki, vela, theo,AK…even diaby and rosicky can play in the front three..

i can only think that wenger wants chamkaka to lead the line but i thought thats what nikki was for…let the rest of them play wide and let nikki play central

i dont see how playing rvp as our main man does anything for our front line…like i said we need good combos and i dont think wengers got the right combo upfront yet…the fact that only three of 16 of our goals has come from strikers emphasises this…

  27. Irishgunner says:

I think Aw should stick Theo in the middle when he comes back – in one of the Carling Cup games or else give him ten minutes there in a bit of a rotation like what is happening now.

  28. JonJon says:

id even have dudu playing central over rvp…

  29. JonJon says:

i wouldt have theo in the first team irish…hes not good enough.

unless its the CC games…id make him wait and work for his place and if he doesnt like it id sell him for 20mil..

  30. Irishgunner says:

    I’d have Eddie central anyway.

  31. Irishgunner says:

” I think Aw should stick Theo in the middle when he comes back – in one of the Carling Cup games” 😉

  32. Irishgunner says:

Isn’t it all internationals this week?

  33. JonJon says:

    yep….

so expect a few players to be injured…we wont have a team left to play citeh… 😦

  34. avenell says:

I hope Dudu gets a hat trick for Croatia.. 🙂

  35. Irishgunner says:

    I hope Dudu gets a hat-trick too but probably for a different reason 😉 – Kidding 🙂

If Cesc plays I’ll be annoyed – if he was injured enough for the Manc game he should take the time off.

  36. rico says:

Afternoon all, you snuck a cheeky little number in there ave 😉

You know what, thats exactly what I said when Arsene stood where he did, he looked so confident, almost cocky – I loved it! And yes, maybe you are right, the old Arsene has been ‘born again’

I still hope – for two at least, but ideally three.

    CH – ?
    HM – Matuidi
    CF – Chamaka

  37. JonJon says:

me too i hope dudu stuffs us..err them…

i cant see cesc playing…i think wengers toughened up and got wise to it now…

just look whats happend to theo..and vela…i dont think cesc will play..they dont need him anyway..not with alonso xavi and iniesta

  38. Irishgunner says:

He is included in the squad though Jon Jon

  39. JonJon says:

well thats just horsey bum dribble..

    still…i dont think he’ll play..

  40. JonJon says:

    hi rico..

i think weve been priced out of the walzing deal…8mils too much for wenger.. 😉

vieira and chamkaka look on though…maybe the CB but it depends on phil..

  41. avenell says:

Wenger should have rested cesc against Portsmouth, why play him injured is beyond me.. He done the same thing on Saturday and played arshavin injured..
    Russia won’t rest him..

  42. Irishgunner says:

Don’t mind about Arshavin too much because if he is bad enough he can pull out of the Russian squad and take the week off.

Fabregas was on the odd one – it was a terrible Pompey team.

  43. PDT says:

Hi all…popping in before I go to bed.

Excellent point about Arsene, Ave! I think the shareholders’ meeting last season gave him a little bit of a shock and he is out to prove that he is right. He is aggressively defending his players, standing up to the refs, not backing off an inch and destroying the so called entente with Fergie.

  44. PDT says:

I guess we just might get one of Sakho, Subotic or Hangeland. I would like to get Hangeland, especially because we play Fulham in October, but will be happy with any of the three.

I don’t think he will buy Chamakh before getting a CH. Possible loan deal for va der Vaart, but I would say it was very unlikely.

Then again, Arsene is like a kid in a candy store where attacking talent is concerned and vdV is defintely worth getting.

  45. PDT says:

    Good night, all!

  46. PDT says:

I do feel sorry for Mowbray, though. He did not complain about Eduardo, but ended up paying the price with his player being sent off. Talk about bad karma…

    Anyways, good night! Really!

  47. Irishgunner says:

    Night PDT

  48. JonJon says:

i wont dissagree about VdV or hangelaand PDT..both will add quality to the squad..

yeah guys i think wenger messed up with playing cesc..i dont think he was even needed for celtic…

but wengers always had this thing about playing players when they are injured..and we wonder why a thigh strain takes 6 months to recover from when you play for arsenal…

arshavins just a hard case…hes been injured and unfit since we got him but he still plays everygame…id love to see what he can do when hes 100%..

  49. avenell says:

    Night PDT..
    speak tomorrow.. 🙂

  50. rico says:

Night night PDT – dream about signings 😉

JJ – 8M, thats nothing for a quality midfielder, but yes, too much for old Ebenezer I guess 😉

I would love to see Chamakh join us, and its soooooo quiet about him right now, it has to be something is going on quietly 😛

Irish – you heard from UEFA or the FA yet? 😉

  51. rico says:

I would love VdV – glad I got ALL the letters included 😳

He is an out an out winger I think, so would that mean Nasri to be the alternative midfielder, many raved about him playing in that role?

  52. avenell says:

Glasgow Rangers want ‘Lil Jack’ on loan.. too cold up there for him..

  53. rico says:

ave – you still decorating ??

If so would you like to hear a joke about the kids in school who had to come up with a sentence that included the word ‘contagious’ ?

    😳

  54. avenell says:

That has got little Johnny wrote all over it.. 😉

and yes fitting skirting boards to pissed cottage walls.. I have scrapped the mitre block.. what’s 45 degrees?

  55. Irishgunner says:

Rico – Two automated messages 😕

  56. paul says:

Can’t see Van Der Vart moving as his wife his having Chemo at present

  57. rico says:

We can empathise ave, nothing in this cottage of ours is straight 😉

We had new doors fiited last year, the poor chap from Brackenwood had to carry out a few repairs to get them in level…

    1 day, 1 hour and 54 minutes left ——

    Come on Arsene

  58. Irishgunner says:

I think Van der Vaart has to move Paul. That’s very sad about his wife.

  60. rico says:

That’s just typical Irish, they are both gutless..

Hi Paul – that is sad for him and his wife.. But I think Irish is right, he has to move.

  61. rico says:

That email tells you nothing, it doesnt even say that they will read your submissions to them and deal with it accordingly – toothless!!

  62. Irishgunner says:

Terry has got himself a nice payrise at Chelski apparently

  63. Irishgunner says:

Its pointless Rico – didn’t see anywhere else to e-mail.

I’m sure many more Arsenal fans have tried to highlight it but its Wenger so they don’t care.

  64. JonJon says:

VdV hasnt even been given a squad number…i think theres something in the rules that states this is a breach of contract on the clubs part and he can demand a free transfer…..i think he’ll move…although madrid not giving him a number suggests they want him out anyway…

  65. JonJon says:

your trying to get blood from a stone irish….

  66. Irishgunner says:

VdV was on their “list” of players to sell.

  67. rico says:

That’s just it Irish, you spend time and energy emailing them because you are peed off with things, and that is the poop reply you get – its disrespecful to you as a footie fan grrr (stop moaning rico 😉 )

JJ, we have a few numbers free, he can have any of them if he so chooses 😛 😛

  68. Irishgunner says:

The e-mail took a minute to write Jon Jon.

To show my disgust I didn’t even write “Dear Sir/Madam” take that FA!!!

  69. JonJon says:

    lmao irish…

  70. Irishgunner says:

I think the FA should be brought before UEFA for simulating being a fair establishment in the furthering of football in England.

Then UEFA should be brought before FIFA on the same charge in a European sense.

Then FIFA should be brought before the World’s rights commission.

If Eduardo is a cheat then what are these lot?

  71. JonJon says:

hahaha thats one of the funniest comments ive heard in a while…

  72. Irishgunner says:

Mike Dean should also be charged with cheating people into thinking he was a referee.

  73. rico says:

LMBO Irish, you should be on stage, that’s a corker 🙂

  74. rico says:

    His true identity is

    Jasper 😛

  75. Irishgunner says:

I need to sit down now I’ve overworked myself 😉

  76. Irishgunner says:

Did ye hear there was an Eduardo type leg break in Belgium this weekend?

Witsel who plays for Standard Liege made bits out of a guys leg – I won’t link the video if ye don’t want to see it – its very nasty.

  77. JonJon says:

ive been watching the replay of the diaby own goal again and i think he messed up because he thought almunia was coming for it..noticing that almunias studs were caught on the goal line and with rooney running in behind he had no choice but to go for the ball…still caught in two minds as diaby often is anyway he didnt know whether to clear it or to head it back to manny…the result being it didnt go in either direction and ended up being an own goal..

i keep saying this but if almunia would grow some balls and come for them crosses he wouldnt put his defenders in the position to make those kind of mistakes…he did the same thing to clichy last year and the result was the same…

diaby was 7 yards out for crying out loud and the ball was a floater..it wasnt whipped in at pace…it was almunias cockup…thats a keepers ball 10/10 times…

ive always been 50/50 with manny but im gradually going off him…he gets beat at near posts, gets beat from 40 yards, doesnt come for crosses 7 yards away from him and never commands his area… and it aint like they are one offs they happen all the time…

he’ll do for now i suppose because we dont have much choice but i cant see him being no.1 much longer..

  78. Irishgunner says:

Kelsey has been saying it for ages – Almunia can’t command his area at all.

Take Oliver Kahn – one of the best – who you mess with his penalty area – HELL NO!

  79. JonJon says:

when fabianski returns from injury id give the jersey to him for the rest of the season…he cant do no worse and at least he comes for crosses…

  80. rico says:

JonJon – I really like it when you are not at work 😛

  81. Irishgunner says:

*I keep writing who instead of would – don’t know why…darn typos

  82. JonJon says:

and if fabianski cant cut it then we buy a new keeper…

theres no point in becoming defensively solid as an outfeild unit if your no.1 cant make a basic save or a basic catch…

just look at the celtic goal for example…it was a great shot but what keeper gets beat from there??? the only reason nobody mentioned it is cos we won 100 nil but we wont hit 3,4,5 goals against everyteam we play…we need him to step up or drop him…

theres no doubt hes in poor form…and your keeper is one of those players you need to be consistent the whole season…

    almunias just being consistently shit…

  83. JonJon says:

    thats cool irish..

    awww thanks rico..me too.. 😉

  84. Irishgunner says:

I knacked off someone from facebook – good thinking from whoever it was.

  85. rico says:

Irish – I really would like that picture, funny enough I have been trying to find it online to frame -it’s to replace the one here at home that had Lardy in it !! Any ideas where I can get it please?

I mean it JJ, same with ave, he sleeps all morning and we miss you both 😉 😉

Good job the girls are around 😉

  86. Irishgunner says:

Do you just want if off the internet?

  87. Irishgunner says:

I.E – Will I e-mail you the picture – i have one with no writing as well.

  88. rico says:

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but have you seen the Dermott Gallagher i/v with Sky – he thinks that UEFA have gone well over the top with Eduardive 😉

  89. rico says:

Yes please Irish – you are a star 😛

  90. Irishgunner says:

    Okay – doing it now

Haven’t seen it, is it worth trying to watch?

Also McLeish has backed Wenger in the whole “Watergate” issue 😉

  91. Irishgunner says:

    Sent!

  92. JonJon says:

    cheers rico…the feelings mutual… 😉

yeah i was up early this morning and SSN was really behind us..they had him live in the studio and he was saying that mike dean didnt have a great game, the 4th official got it embarrasingly wrong and the dudu innocent was blown out of proportion and isnt sensible

seeing as though a dive only warrants a yellow card anyway..how can they ban him for two games for something thats a yellow card offence maximum???

  93. JonJon says:

the guy that smashed his leg to bits and almost crippled him for life got a 3 game ban…

i agree with wenger when he says that diving is the last thing they should be clamping down on…especially when theres players like fletcher who can get away with kick after kickand foul after foul without so much as picking up a yellow…

  94. rico says:

I have them Irish – thanks big heeps 😛

  95. rico says:

DG just says, that had Dudu got a yellow card on the night, he would have had to receive two further yellow cards to get a ban – yet here he is following the interference from UEFA, facing a two match ban.. He thinks it is wrong and that it will cause all sorts of problems in the future..

Sky have also showed the tackles that Manure made on us, refreshing change and think DF and Evra were fortunate..

  96. avenell says:

Is he gutted that his two brothers have split there band up. 😉

  97. Irishgunner says:

    No problem 😉

This needs to be cut off (don’t watch if you have a faint heart or bad stomach)

  98. JonJon says:

have you noticed that fergie has been unusually quiet??? he knows he has problems with his squad and they were outplayed at home…he knew the curse of OT with the refs being biased towards the home team was unbelievably exposed on saturday….everyone including the media has picked up on it and its an embarrasing way to win a game…

he cant defend it…he said after the game that fletcher got the ball and it wasnt a pen…yeah fergie fletcher did get the ball, after he hacked down AA and handballed it at the same time…

from a PR point of view we have finally come out on top….

  99. JonJon says:

    trust ave.. 😉

  100. rico says:

Guys and Gals, I am off for a very very late lunch, back soon 😉

  101. Irishgunner says:

I do hope Man Yoo have no-one lined up to buy.

By the by, where is this Obertan dude they bought that Blanc thinks is over-rated?

  102. JonJon says:

i dont think they have the money irish…and fergie said his transfers were done a bit back..if they had the money why couldnt they pay off tevezs fee and why get a freebie in owen???

as for abergene…thats a wierd one..

  103. Irishgunner says:

If that is the midfield they are stuck with then 😆

It was a very weird purchase, I mean Chamakh must be somewhat good cos Bordeaux don’t want to sell but they were literally laughing at United buying Obertan and they’ve not even played him – is he injured or just rubbish? Both?

  104. JonJon says:

to be honest ive never heard of him…he cant be that special…like you say they are trying their damndest to keep chamkaka..yey they practically drove obergene to OT as soon as the bid was received…

  105. Irishgunner says:

He’s only 20, I thought he was older. He looks a bit like Silvestre 😆

  106. JonJon says:

he must be rubbish then.. 😉

is it true rosicky is in the czech squad??

  107. Irishgunner says:

    That’s disgraceful – he’ll come back injured.

the Czechs haven’t got much of qualifying anyway do they?

  108. Irishgunner says:

    *much hope

  109. Irishgunner says:

I must go out and get some fresh air now that it has decided to stop raining.

Tomorrow we buy our new defender/midfielder/striker 🙂

  110. JonJon says:

i honestly dont know why wenger allows it…i suppose there isnt alot he can do really but surely the players like rosciky and cesc realise that its abit out of order not playing for us and then being declared fit for internationals a few days later…

we could have done with them both against manure but they were declared injured but in their country squads two days later…

  111. JonJon says:

    seeya irish..

  112. kelsey says:

    JonJon,

Rosicky is either fit or not.Originally he was in the squad for Saturday according to Wenger’s pre match interview, and then he wasn’t in the squad that travelled.

It is sheer madness to let him play even for 10 minutes. We have two weeks until the next game and if Rosicky is days away from playing, surely the obvious thing is for him not to go.Wenger needs to toughen up when it comes to International duty,we invariably lose players to injury.

  113. London says:

    Kelsey

There is another way of looking at this: allowing Rosicky to play a couple of easy internationals could be a useful way of him getting some much needed match practice in preparation for the high intensity of the Premier League.

  114. avenell says:

    Good evening Kelsey..

Matuidi is the only player I can find we are linked with, any other news?

  115. avenell says:

And London is back.. wearing the green Hunters still.. 😉 tally ho.

  116. kelsey says:

I can’t argue with you London, it’s that i smell something fishy about the whole Tomas rosicky Affair.

    Evening avenell,
no links, just got this feeling that Viera might be back in a dual capacity as stand in for whoever for a limited amount of matches and add to the coaching staff, but i may be well off track.

  117. rico says:

HI Guys – I am all full of pizza, coleslaw and sweetcorn 😛 😛

Catch you later Irish – go check on those chickens 😉

Top Ten suggested transfers – includes us getting Paddy and Matuidi – but something seriously makes me believe Chamakh will be with us come the next league match 🙂

  118. rico says:

London – I hope you are wrong, for me its, no play for club, no play for country 😦

  119. London says:

    Tally Ho Roadsters

I cannot think of a quicker way to get Rosicky playing again.

  120. JonJon says:

i can understand that theory london…letting him play in an international would be a good way of regaining his sharpness…

but i just think it smacks of something fishy when two key players are declared unfit for one of the biggest games of the season yet 2 days later they are named in their national teams…

  121. JonJon says:

    spuds have signed krankjar

  122. avenell says:

If they keep signing Portsmouth players they will end up like Portsmouth, I thought they would do well last year, but they fooled me.. 🙂

  123. rico says:

I can’t see AW letting either play in an international game when they are deemed unfit for us -they will both be withdrawn before the game, i bet 😉

  124. rico says:

Bloomin heck JJ, another player we were once linked to, guess thats because of the Modric injury

  125. rico says:

Right guys, offski for me – catch you tomorrow when we celebrate all our new players being signed… NOT!!

Same old, same old I fear

    Stay safe all

    Nighty night 🙂

  126. avenell says:

    Night rico.. x

  127. rico says:

    Morning Roadies

VdV is staying at Madrid – so we can forget about him joining us. Saying that, I think I have given up all hope that anyone will be signed today by us

    5PM deadline..

  128. rico says:

It’s going to be a long long ten and a half hours….

The Daily Mail say we are looking to strike a deal for Chamakh, but they also say West Ham will snap him up today…

  129. rico says:

The expensive vehicle with vey high mileage is wanted by Citeh….

Yep, Bentley is possibly off to join Lardy !!

  130. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

yawn.. nothing going to happen by the looks of it..

Darren Fletcher coming in lol.. that’s it..
Apparently it is too late to get someone in from overseas apart from a loan deal, is that true?

  131. kelsey says:

    Morning rico and avenell,

i believe that is not true,we have until 17.00 GMT to sign anyone from the UK or abroad, as was the case with AA.

  132. raif says:

    morning people how we doing..

looking forward to a Playerless signing day to day?

  133. PDT says:

    Good morning!

I am still hopeful of a central defender at least.

  134. kelsey says:

i have been thinking a lot about what amounts to FIFA over ruling what the ref deemed to be a penalty in our game with Celtic.

It may have been stated before but i believe it wasn’t a penalty, but nevertheless it was given.it didn’t alter the game as effictively we were already two goals to the good, and Celtic still needed three goals to win,at that time.

This ref is one of the best in europe and took charge of the CL Final between Milan and liverpool.

We are meant to be in a “respect the referee” era,but basically the ref has been totally over ruled, and one questions if this will set a precedent.

No one can say Eduardo is a serial cheat like Drogba or Roanaldo and i am afraid even our own Eboue, and this is a stab in the back at Arsenal, the so called foreign team.It will be interesting to see if FIFA remain consistent after this.

  135. Irishgunner says:

Where are our new players? 😕

  136. rico says:

    Morning again all…

5 hours and 20 minutes left, plenty of time to get Chamakh and Matuidi 🙂

  137. rico says:

PDT – I reckon if Phil goes, we may buy a defender, but if he stays – no one 😦

  138. JonJon says:

chamkaka will not be coming…hes off to westham…

villa wanted 2 new CB’s..silvestre was on their list but they seem to have signed dunne and collins…west ham will use the collins money to buy chamkakaka…

the heitinga deal may fall through so senderos looks to be on his way…

vdv has says he will stay in spain so he wont be coming to england….

so far…we arent signing anyone…st. ettiene wont lower their demands for waltzing and wenger wont part with 8mil for the french U21 captain…

vieira wont be coming unless jose says he can leave but hes impresses jose in preseason

my sources are SSN and constant roaming around every other teams websites… 😉

    oh and using the force!!

oh and AA has pulled out of the russian squad…hes out for 6 weeks…apparently…

morning everyone..isnt it exciting…its like watching all your mates opening the GI Joe with the kung fu grip for xmas and you have nothing cos you got your birtday and xmas present in one earlier in the year.. (arshavin and vermalean)

  139. Irishgunner says:

I hate deadline day – we build ourselves up and get disappointed 😦

  140. Irishgunner says:

We’ll also see the corruption courts of UEFA charge Eddie today.

  141. rico says:

No JJ, we will be signing him, i will bet you ave’s house 😉 Hasn’t he already said he won’t go to WH, and would rather stay at the vinyard

  142. rico says:

Irish – the lawyers are on the case and plan to get Eduardo off 😛

  143. Irishgunner says:

“Former Liverpool, Aston Villa and England striker Stan Collymore believes that Arsenal’s Eduardo da Silva and any other player found guilty of diving should be banned for eight games by football’s governing body as a way of preserving the integrity of the game. The player-turned-pundit also took a swipe at Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger following his defence of the Croatian international and stressed the Frenchman should also be banished to the stands.”

    😆 😆 Aw the moral high-ground from a woman beater 😆

  144. rico says:

That man riles me big time, no saint in his day was he, on or off the field!

  145. Irishgunner says:

Rico – I wouldn’t be surprised if UEFA didn’t listen to the lawyers, actually screw the lawyers, I hear Usmanov knows some people 😉

  146. JonJon says:

hull might be moving for senderos…they have 12mil from turner and the need a new CB

  147. PDT says:

Hi Rico! You may be right, but I hope he buys a defender anyway…

  148. rico says:

    😛 Irish..

He would be mad to join Hull, but if it means we get a CH better than him then fingers crossed

  149. rico says:

PDT – me too, and put Phil and Silvestre in with any deal… 😉

JJ, have you sneaked a sicky today or are you skiving 😉

  150. Irishgunner says:

Subotic??? is linked with us again

  151. JonJon says:

it looks like we might win the dudu case…

uefa issue a two page dossier with only one paragraph that mentioned their evidence for the dudu dive..

our lawyers issued a 19page dossier that included witnesses, video evidence and mentioned the fact hes spent the last 18month out for a smashed ankle…

if we lose this its a shambles..

  152. JonJon says:

    i got a holiday booked rico… 😉

i worked about 100hours last week and booked an extra long weekend to recover.. 😉

subotic is linked but they want 18mil…cant see it happening to be honest…

  153. PDT says:

    I don’t want to see Senderos go…

  154. PDT says:

JJ, re Eduardo…is the case being overseen by a judge or is an UEFA official taking the decision?

If it is a UEFA official, we will be screwed.

  155. PDT says:

    100 hours..that’s sick!

  156. rico says:

Ha ha JJ, that’s good for us 😛

He had a scuff with Jens didn’t he, he must be mad, so just the player for us 😉

PDT – he has to go, or he goes for free next summer – he has said he doesn’t want to stay so his heart has gone, and we don’t need players who don’t want to play for us 😦

  157. JonJon says:

ive been scanning the bordeux websites and reports say that he has representatives in london now…but west ham look favs…

  158. rico says:

No JJ, he will be in talks with us…. 😦

  159. PDT says:

Extreme article by your standards, Irish! 😀

Where are you off to? Round the world?

  160. JonJon says:

that a good point you raise PDT…i honestly dont know but i hope there is no uefa rep on the panel..thats like a man being up for murder and having the murdered mans family on the jury…

    i read that pricks comment irish….what a knob…

  161. PDT says:

What are the three worst decisions that Arsene has taken as manager of the Arsenal, in your opinion?

  162. Irishgunner says:

Ha ha PDT – check back for the responses I’ll be a bitter Arsenal fan – damn right I am 😉

Off to London – Hong Kong – Australia (staying in Oz if I get some work).

  163. PDT says:

Leaving Arshavin on the bench would be up there.

Don’t know if signing Silvestre or Cygan was worse.

How about being completely duped by Flamini?

  164. Irishgunner says:

    1) Selling all his DMs in one go
    2) Letting Bobby Pires go which comes under the 30 year rule – silly silly
    3) Not getting in help when he needs it (not overtly anyway)

  165. PDT says:

Hope you have fun! GG9 is in Tasmania, if you get down that way.

  166. JonJon says:

    good question PDT

in no particular order of importance.

    1..francis jeffers
2..keeping ade for the extra year
    3..playing eboue anywhere but RB

  167. Irishgunner says:

And the three you mentioned PDT – there is a lot.

  168. Irishgunner says:

We’re starting off in Sydney and hope to move about but its all work dependent.

Ireland is a waste of time at the moment so now is the opportune moment to go.

  169. JonJon says:

good point…i’ll change my number 3 to completely throwing the FA cup semi by leaving song and AA

  170. Irishgunner says:

😆 maybe we can get all Arsenal fans on the panel a bit like Gerrard and his trial 😆

    “Self-defence” ha ha ha

  171. PDT says:

Irish, I am not convinced he “sold” all his DMs. Flamini took advantage of his naivete, Lassie took advantage of his niceness and Gilberto deserved to be allowed to leave after his service to the club, especially after the grace he demonstrated in his last season with the club.

  172. PDT says:

Was selling Anelka a mistake? How about giving Gallas the armband?

The iffy decisions sure add up as you look back over the years.

  173. Irishgunner says:

He still let them go though PDT.

” Flamini took advantage of his naivete,” – change number 3 to that so, naivety when it comes to some aspects.

  174. PDT says:

I am still not convinced that Cesc shouold have the armband. I’d rather give it to Arshavin.

    Or Denilson.

  175. Irishgunner says:

The Gallas one is odd – he acts and plays like a Captain now but while he had the armband was sulky, so he can obviously do it.

Anelka’s head was turned by his brother. He pissed away his best years moving from average club to average club so its hasn’t really bit us in the backside.

  176. JonJon says:

i think flamini was pushed…we tried to sell him to birmingham and then 3 month later we were beging him to stay…

we never offered him a contract after his amazing form in the CL cup run and then we dropped him for an unfit cashley…

the way we treat flamini was out of order and i dont blame him for going…i agree about gilberto and dolphin head…

  177. PDT says:

Denilson has a lot of leadership potential.

  178. Irishgunner says:

Van Persie has been a better Captain than Cesc imo. He rallies the troops a bit and tries to help the less experienced players.

Cesc got it to keep Barca at bay.

  179. rico says:

    What a question PDT

    1 – Stephanos (spelling)

    2 – R Wright

    3 – Jeffers

  180. PDT says:

Got to go…dinner’s on the table!

    I hope I wake up to Subotic/Hangeland/Sakho + Matuidi/vdV + Chamakh/Villa.

And while I am dreaming, I also hope we finally land Buffon!

    Have fun!

  181. JonJon says:

nah selling anelka wasnt a mistake…we made a 23 mil profit on him and built a new training complex that all our kids use in their development…we replaced him with henry and anelka has never become the player he would have at arsenal…even at chelsea…

    anelka was his own mistake…

  182. PDT says:

    rico!!!!!!!!!!! You are the champ!!!!

    You have a good memory!!

  183. rico says:

I’m just very old PDT, enjoy your dinner and may all your dreams come true 🙂

  184. Irishgunner says:

Enjoy dinner PDT – My optimism is diminishing by the second 😦

Not even a whisper of a signing.

  185. JonJon says:

i’ll be honest…at the time there was nobody in the team to give it to…cesc was the best option becuase of the amount of games he’s played and to keep him here a little longer…

but in all honesty we have no leaders…i dont even think robins a leader…

now id give it to vermalean..or AA..but TV wins hands down…

  186. rico says:

I think TV is a leader, he has already shown that with us, one day he will have the armband 🙂

  187. Irishgunner says:

” The case will be heard through written submissions to the 10-man disciplinary panel chaired by Austrian official Thomas Partl.” – lets home they are all Gooners 🙂

  188. rico says:

Great players don’t always make great captains – i never understand why managers think they do –

Look at cricket and Ian Botham, David Gower and Freddie – all great players, shocking leaders and decision makers 😦

  189. Irishgunner says:

I love Vermaelen already – I was a bit worried after seeing him in pre-season but even then his positioning looked good – he’s like he has been with us a few seasons.

  190. rico says:

AA is out of the international game – hoorah

  191. Irishgunner says:

    Who is your quintessential captain?

Doesn’t have to be from Arsenal but who would be a proper leader – even from the bygone days.

  192. JonJon says:

adams..cant do better than admas…weve had some great captians in the past but since vieira weve had none…

    adams all day long…

  193. Irishgunner says:

Maldini is mine – I’m so incredibly biased towards him 😉

Adams would be the one for Arsenal – loved it when it got that goal against Everton to put the icing on the cake winning the league.

  194. JonJon says:

the thing with people like maldini and adams and even terry and gerrard is that they grew up with the club and have natural love for it…not only this but they are natural leaders and damn good players to boot…all the pieces fit..

they always make the best captains…always…

  195. Irishgunner says:

Could be on to something there Jon Jon.

This day is so long, I have to go out soon and I bet there will be a flurry of activity – just not at Arsenal 😦

  196. Irishgunner says:

“Couple of transfers at Old Trafford on the cards are Rodrigues Jadson of Shakhtar and Tom Huddlestone of Spurs. Jadson is due in for contract talks and Huddlestone’s agent has been on the phone. Heard the conversation while catering.”

Fat Tom Huddlestone 😆 that’d be funny

  197. rico says:

Adams for me too, oh how we miss him 😦

  198. Irishgunner says:

    4 Hours to go ………..

  199. JonJon says:

    hundredstone??? to manure??? hahahahahahahahahaha

    16mil… LMAO

  200. Irishgunner says:

Its too funny to happen ha ha

  201. JonJon says:

senderos looks set for hull…theyve had a wheater bid turned down so sendy looks on his way there…especially now heitinga has signed for everton..

  202. Irishgunner says:

Well Cesc is staying anyway ha ha we know that much

I wonder about Taylor at Newcastle – he’ll move before 5pm I reckon

  203. JonJon says:

he could well be irish…but i dont like taylor…i dont think hes any better than senderos…

  204. rico says:

Irish, I would take him in a flash, I know he is a bit of a git, but no nonsense defender (sorry JJ) 😉

  205. rico says:

Don’t you find it distressing seeing other clubs signing players and we are doing nothing 😦

    Is that serious about Huddlestone

  206. Irishgunner says:

City to bid £50mil for Cesc 😆

  207. rico says:

Now I know you are joking Irish, he would never play in the same side as Lardy again 😉

  208. Irishgunner says:

Cesc will leave us for Spain when he does go and that is a fact.

Something biggish surely has to happen in the next 3 hours?

  209. rico says:

Rumour on SS is that Ribery has been sighted at Manchester Airport – yeah right !!

  210. Irishgunner says:

I thought there was a deal in place for Ribery to go to Madrid next season?

  211. rico says:

That Madrid rumour has been denied Irish, but I dont believe that denial either..

  212. Irishgunner says:

Man Yoo denied it last summer too and where is Ronaldo now? 😉

  213. rico says:

    http://www.newsnow.co.uk/A/367748514?-19387

If this turns out to be true, I will be well happy

  214. rico says:

Ha ha, and fergie now has a virus 😉

  215. Irishgunner says:

I’ve got to go away for about two hours so hopefully something happens in that time…

  216. JonJon says:

fulham are set to take vela on loan…they need a striker if kamara is off to bolton…

  217. Irishgunner says:

From Lambros, via text on 81111: “I’m a security guard at Highbury House and I just saw Blaise Matuidi enter with an entourage. He’s apparently just had a medical and heading upstairs to sign his contract. You heard it here first.”

I love people at the club 🙂 really going now

  218. rico says:

Irish – Don’t do that, you know idiots like me will believe it and I will be so sad to find out the truth 😦 😉

  219. rico says:

And Brum are hoping for Traore JJ

  220. JonJon says:

rico…the matuidi deal could be on…

dont forget what my cousin said a few week ago..

i think the vela deal could be more important rico as it could have something to do with hanglider

  221. rico says:

If Vela is going on loan, we MUST be about to sign Chamakh

  222. rico says:

Hanglider 😉 You just never fail to make me chuckle 😉

I would rather Subotic JJ – but I know he is too expensive – I do remember what your cousin said, i was so excited when you told us, since no news on him I have been trying to hunt your cousin down…. 😉

  223. JonJon says:

    so have i.. 😉

  224. JonJon says:

i love this time of year…its so much fun…

    i wont be saying that at 5 though… 😉

  225. JonJon says:

oh ive just remembered rico…we shouldnt be doing this it makes us trolls..

oh the shame how will we ever live it down…??

all those newspapers that have dozens of reporters outside every airport and every ground in the country, will be reading us instead and getting their stories from here and its creating negativity…

naughty naughy Irish, Rico and JJ..

    arsenal…

  226. PDT says:

JJ, I think Arsene will surprise us today.

My bets are still on Subotic, Matuidi and Chamakh, in that order. Arsene wants Chamakh so much, he will make Subotic and Matuidi happen. If I were a betting man, I’d say 12+3 (for appearances) for Subotic would do it.

  227. PDT says:

Adams would be my pick as the greatest captain also.

  228. PDT says:

I am surprised no one pickup up my red herring about Denilson’s leadership potential, especially since I am the only one convinced about him in these parts.

  229. JonJon says:

ive beleived that for a while PDT…

although ive read on the dortmand site that they want 18mil for him so its looking unlikely…

ive always thought it would be hanglider, vieira/waltzing and chamkaka…

  230. PDT says:

I am surprised no one picked up my red herring about Denilson’s leadership potential, especially since I am the only one convinced about him in these parts.

  231. JonJon says:

i picked up on it PDT but i didnt want to hurt your feelings. 😉

i thought you were serious…i was about to write a thousand word rant… 😉

  232. PDT says:

To stay up to to go to bed??

I’ll leave the vigil to you, JJ. Have a great afternoon and may our dreams come true!

  233. rico says:

Blimey I only popped out in the garden for 5 minutes and so many comments to read 😉

You let me know when you find him JJ, I will hold him down and ….. 😉

PDT, I like those three players, we win win a couple of trophies with them in the squad, bue as for Denilson….. mme 😉

Please note that this comment was left by the Oldest Troll around at the moment 😛 😛

  234. rico says:

Stay up PDT, you can catch up on your sleep tomorrow, JJ has had to do that having worked 100000000 hours last week 😛

  235. rico says:

    Breaking News……………..

    Breaking News……………….

We are very very close to clinching the signing of …………

    AMOURY BISCHOFF …………

Oh, sorry, that was last summer 😳

    😆

  236. JonJon says:

yeah come on PDT stay with us youve got 2 hours to go…your almost there.. 😉

  237. JonJon says:

weve also signed a peanut head last seen in the manure reserves.. 😆

  238. JonJon says:

it just goes to show what a shambles last year was rico…

we lost too many good players and replaced them with dogshit….

weve lost no good player this season so anyone we add will be a bonus…

  239. rico says:

    NEW POST GUYS

This one is slow and we need a quick one to celebrate our signings in an hour or two…

Its the match report from Sir Arsene 😛
