“Is It Coz I is Arsenal?”

Eduardo gets his leg stamped on and Taylor gets a 2 match ban.. Dudu takes 18 months to recover. That is like a ban, only Dudu’s only crime was according to MOTD ” he was a bit too fast for Taylor”
Instead of being happy for our little Croatian Gooner to be back playing at the top level and enjoying what he can bring to English football, the media have picked on him big time.
Now I am all for getting this cheating out of the game, but any action should be done before the season starts and not retrospectively picking on one player who let’s face it has been through the worst two years of his life.  If you are going to clamp down on it let the clubs know where they stand BEFORE the event.

The press want Eduardo to serve more time than the Lockerbie bomber for doing what Steve G and Ronaldo do every game they play in..
The facts are Man U would NOT have won the League last year or the year before if it wasn’t for Ronaldo’s diving. So when one team are allowed to get an unfair advantage, how can it be wrong if Dudu evens up the playing field, I mean cheats always prosper when they are Manc or Scouse cheats. We all know why.

Here is an idea, what about get a few referee’s to study footage from the last 3 or 4 seasons in all the games played by the so called big four and take away any goals scored directly as a result of the cheating. Then change the results accordingly.. . Who would have the most goals taken away? I may be biased but even the most unfair referee would deduct less points from Arsenal than any of the others.
Now UEFA have got involved directly.. I honestly didn’t know how much Arsenal are hated in this world. UEFA… WHAT ABOUT ASHLEY YOUNG?????

And don’t forget you are now setting a dangerous precedent, you had better stick to it.

There seems to be three types of player that the media abuse to different levels. There is the all good, super dooper  lashings of ginger beer, do no wrong Englishman like Gerrard.. now what did that commentator say when he dived ?. “He went over because he anticipated the tackle”..

There is the foreign player.. We don’t like there sort around these parts, “this is a local League for local people”.
Then there is the biggest criminal of all. The foreign Arsenal player the fact that he dares to walk onto a football pitch in a red and white shirt the press perceive him to be a Jack the Ripper type character worse than any mass murderer.

I can only remember two other famous dives by us  (I know Vieira was no saint) .. The one where we beat Portsmouth by Sir Bobby P in our invincible season and in the Champions League final by Eboue that led to the free kick where Campball scored. I can remember ten times  more against us. Rodney, Babel, van Nistelrooy the list is endless. The financial and prestigious penalties are endless too.

Why not go further Arsene don’t give any interviews to that second rate TV company ITV, they started all this with constantly showing the replay of the incident and the bunch of tossers (experts) that they had commentating and on the panel.
Go all the way UEFA deduct us a couple of points from our qualifying group, then will the real Arsenal please stand up.. Please stand up..

This evening we have a trip to Old Trafford, a difficult game that we have avoided so early in the season recently, but this may be an advantage to us as Man U never seem to get out of the traps as quick as us, but they seem to creep up on the league towards the end of the season..
The most mouth watering part of the game for me is going to be how our centre backs handle the threat of Rodney, Berbatov or Owen. For the first time in three or four seasons I feel that they should be in our defences pocket, I have never seen Gallas in such great form, if it was my choice now he would be the captain, how things change but fair play to the man, he has won me around. And he is standing next to the mighty Vermaelen. Not one person has said we miss the man with Arsenal running through his veins.. Kolo who? (Arsene cannot choose a defender can he?)

Will Mr Wenger OBE pick Dudu? I would .. If  there was ever a strong character then it is this man.. Who would bet against him scoring the winner. I can feel my chest puffing out as I think about it.. Those are the dreams of what being a Gooner is all about.

I think we will win by 2 goals to nil have faith my fellow Gooners..

    Wel said, Avenell!

Spot on Avenell – and Wenger is right, its a witch hunt, and sadly I think it’s because its Arsenal, we showed the way when in came to buying from abroad, it started with our fine boss. The English media have never forgiven our club for that, nor the amount of players that have followed him through the door.

Also, we are to blame for the England team being so poo, aren’t we?? No we are not, England have been poor because those players who the media, paps, MOTD and Sky pundits reckon are saints, when it comes to playing for their country they have gone missing!!

Add to that the FA appoint a manager who thinks it’s more importatnt to keep his hair and posh suit dry than standing on the sideline encouraging his team!!

And Ave, you are right, this intervention by UEFA has just opened a whole new can of worms, and trust me, real soon we WILL be sat as events unfold, having the last laugh…

Watch your backs Dippers, Manure and Chelsea!!

  5. rico says:

    Sorry I forgot……

    Morning Everyone 😉

    Morning Roadsters

I spoke too soon, there is more than one person who can deliver a good rant when called for.
The title is top drawer, nice one Ave.

  7. London says:

Has Fabregas definitely been ruled out?

  8. London says:

This is a really good interview with Alexandre Song, well worth a read and as the journalist emphasises at the end; he is still only 21.

Morning London – sadly yes, Cesc is out, as is Theo and Nasri 😦

  10. JonJon says:

    morning everyone..

    excellent ave..

rico, dont worry..weve only got one song 🙂

hi london..that article is quite informative…he is quickly becoming one of my favorites at the club and i feel quite ashamed that i gave him some bad treatment last year…

the boy has indeed become a man and hes been a pivotal influence in our new formation and the way we play…

at 21 he will only get better so who needs an essein or a yaya…weve only got one song…

oh and a message for that prick evra…alex is coming to get ya….

im really up for today…i dont think wenger needs a motivational speech..he just needs to show them a few news reports over the last few days…that should do the job..

its us against the world..go get em lads…

  11. rico says:

  12. rico says:

Morning JonJon – hope all went well yesterday

I echo your sentiments on Song, he has done himself and the red shirt proud. Looks if I may be eating my words over Eboue soon too, IF he continues to play like he did in the week 😉

  13. JonJon says:

    hi rico…

i still dont think eboue had that good a game what most make out…i think he was average made to look above average cos celtic are crap….that performance from eboue was high energy but riddled with mistakes…against tougher opposition like stoke or hull then he would need more than just high energy..as the last 4 years have proved..but against celtic it just proves that eboue would be one of the best players in the SPL…but again let me repeat…stoke and hull…the SPL is crap…i wish we could play celtic every week…

and thank you rico yes it all went well…we could see the shape and the glimmer of a heartbeat..

and i think its a boy becuase you could just make out the limbs…all 5 of them… 😆

  14. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..
What worries me is the midfield of Diaby, DENILSON, Song and Eboue only created 6 chances all game against a pub team.
We need a playmaker. I hope Rosicky is fit.

  15. rico says:

    😛 JJ

Tongue in cheek re Eboue, just pleased he seems to have stopped the acting so far 😉

I have to pop out for a while, back shortly

    Morning Ave

  16. Wrighty7 says:

    Morning all!

Love that title, Is it coz I is Arsenal? Good stuff!

    My team;

    Almunia

    Sagna Gallas Vermalean Clichy

    Denilson Song

    Arshavin

    Van Persie Eduardo Bendtner

I say give it to them. Thats the way to play United. Show no fear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WE ARE ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!! ha ha

  17. avenell says:

Oi,oi Wrighty. What is your score prediction today Mr Confident?

  18. JonJon says:

    morning ave…

i think he’ll play the midfield you mentioned because of the defensive solidarity but personally id swop diaby and AA around…

play diaby as a support striker and play AA in the middle as play maker with song statman and eboue as cover..

i think we’ll go with eboue today to help sagna with evra..hes the mancs only real attacking threat…

vermy and gallas will keep roony at bay all day long and berbas too lazy to help rooney…the mancs midfeild is crap without ronaldo and we are strong in the middle of the park defensively so we stop evra we stop the threat..

but like you say we need our own threat so AK47 in the cesc role today please mr arsene sir…

  19. JonJon says:

    oi oi wrighty..
yeah i agree give it to them..and we gotta play dudu…

the manc defence will be at 6’s and 7’s with rio so we need someone who will take the chances when we get them…

not only this but we need to show the world we are behind dudu….no resting him and protecting him..dudu plays…

  20. Wrighty7 says:

OI OI OI OI OI OI OI!

Manchester United 1-2 Arsenal my friends

  21. JonJon says:

3-0 to the mighty arsenal…dudu hatrick

  22. avenell says:

Speaking of unfairness.. How did Bentley get away with a £600 fine for D/D when he is on £70k a week?
    Big Tone goes to prison..

  23. Wrighty7 says:

    Bentley is a muppet Ave.

I reckon it was because Big Tone did it at Xmas time. They always clamp down on D/D around that time mate.

  24. avenell says:

I guess so Wrighty.. but that fine is like me and you getting done a quid..

  25. London says:

I am about to disappear into the country, can I leave you with this thought: It is true what Jonjon says that we will be lacking a play maker today but it is not Denilson’s fault that Fabregas, Nasri and Rosicky are injured. See ya, 2-1 to the good guys.

  26. Wrighty7 says:

    Ave,

If I was Bentley I would donate a sum of money to a form of charity to show how sorry I really was.

  27. avenell says:

London, It was me who said about the playmaker.. That really isn’t the point about Denilson.. The point is if he cannot create, what is his job?.. Song does the breaking down and holding.
Playing Denilson alongside Song is two players doing one players job.
Also if we were to use Eboue and Diaby as our wide midfield like we did against celtic diaby creates the odd chance for others but Eboue rarely does.

Wrighty.. good point my mate has just done a John o’Groats to Lands End bike ride for charity, because he got nicked for D/D and wanted to help right a moral wrong.

  28. peachesgooner says:

    Great title ave 😉

I’m really looking forward to this game – a win, any win will do 😆

  29. avenell says:

    Hi Peaches thanks..
I want to thrash them or win with a dodgy decision. anything to piss them mancs off.. 😉

  30. Freire says:

    Hello everyone,
    good afternoon.

  31. rico says:

Hi Guys – everyone just getting a little nervous ?? 😉

    I am 😉

Evra Own goal and a 1-0 win will do me 😛

  32. avenell says:

Damn Spuds and the Dippers have scored late..

  33. avenell says:

    Almunia..
    Sagna..
    Vera Lynn..
    Gallas..
    Clichy..
    Eboue..
    Song..
    Diaby..
    Denilson..
    AK47..
    RvP..

Please prove me wrong Mr Denilson sir.. please..

  34. Freire says:

    Cmooon arsenal!

  35. Freire says:

    is anybody online?

  36. avenell says:

Sorry Freire.. I have been trying to watch the game..
I see mike Dean is warming up to send one of our players off.. every time we tackle we get a yellow..

  37. rico says:

Evra will get the red 😉 …

  38. rico says:

Eboue is back to his usual rubbish – statman is too 😦

  39. rico says:

I did think the Fletch on AA was a penalty….

  40. avenell says:

Something isn’t right.. Redknobb said we are playing well.

  41. Freire says:

    What a goal, man!
    Arshavin is god!

  42. Freire says:

Let’s wait to see what FA will say about the Whoney’s penalty.

  43. JonJon says:

    oh dear oh dear…

theres three reasons that we are going to lose this game…

    almunia
    denilson
    diaby

new system..looks good..but when it comes to the big games the same players let the system down every time…

  44. JonJon says:

almunias bad decisions again…coming when he shouldnt and staying when he should come…

    diabys just dumb

and denilson..dont get me started… hes been manures man of the match…

does he know we arent playing in the red today???

  45. Freire says:

    I agree, JonJon.
I never liked Almunia, Diaby or Denilson.

    Diaby, R.I.P.

  46. JonJon says:

we had this game in the bag…then two mistakes by the two people who make the same mistakes over and over and we are punished…

almunia was at fault for both goals..

    diaby is a liabilty

    denilson is just shit…

  47. JonJon says:

add eboues ridiculous dive and we are no different to what we were last year…

weve had a good start against a bunch of shit teams but when it comes to the big boys the same players cant step up…

this is the reality check we needed…we are back down to earth with a huge bump…

  48. rico says:

    BOLLOX!!!

  49. Freire says:

MY RELATIONSHIP WITH WENGER IS QUIT.

DIE WENGER! YOU’RE WRONG TILL THE BONES!

CAN I SPEAK A LOT OF ‘F*CKINGS” NOW?????

  50. rico says:

    Here is my spin….

Manure came to us last season quite early, they lost 2-1 and went on to win the league… Get my drift….

    Was that really a penalty??

Did we just not out play the current champions??

    Robin – Bench
    Denilson – Changing rooms
Diaby – off from the bench
    Eboue – sell him

    Bring in

    Van-de-Vart
    Chamakh
    Subotic (spelling)

We also have no depth on our subs bench…

  51. JonJon says:

    nah friere that wasnt wenger….

wengers system works its the fucking players…

song was a one man army in that midfield all game and it was only a matter of time before almunia made his mistakes he normally makes…

all that good work and denilson couldnt pick a pass, diaby shouldnt be defending there because he cant and almunia should of come for the own goal cross and stayed where he was for rooneys run cos gallas had him covered and rooney was on his left foot anyway…

ive said the three reasons why we lost and wenger wasnt one of them..

  52. avenell says:

Freire.. The die Wenger is a bit strong mate.. But a few fuckings is okay..

I bet Arsene thinks the football world is against him now.. should be an interesting post match interview..

  53. Freire says:

    WENGER WASN’T ONE OF THEM???

Why the hell did he keep Diaby on the pitch, ahn????
Why the hell he keeps Diaby and Almunia in the squad??

Mate, i’m freaking nervous, sorry, but I can’t control myself

  54. rico says:

    Friere

Wenger mad good subs and at the right time, what he needs is players who know how to bloody pass…

Song – top man again today

  55. avenell says:

Rooney was half way down before he got near Almunia.. he knew the ball was lost..

Now he has got MOTM.. unreal..

  56. Freire says:

Let’s see what FA says about Rooneys diving.

  57. JonJon says:

our defence was excellent…song was excellent…

but when you rely on diaby and denilson to help song your taking a risk…

and almunia never ceases to amaze me…

we have enough depth but we made two mistakes and we were punished….and its the same mistakes over and over

  58. JonJon says:

    it was a pen..definately

  59. avenell says:

Rooney was still going down before he reached Almunia..
He fell onto Almunia’s arms.. he would have been down if Manuel wasn’t near him..

  60. JonJon says:

    exactley..

rooney wasnt going anywhere he was going away from goal on his left foot and he had a defender up his arse…

manny shouldnt of been there in the first place but he did cos he does things like that and he threw his arms out made contact and lost us the game…

he should of come for the diaby own goal too…no other manure players around…about 7 yards out…why was he stood on his line…

we outplayed manure and had it in the bag and manny cost us that game with mistakes he makes all the time…

ive said for ages hes a decent shot stopper but his decision making is wank and when it comes to crosses hes shit…every time..

  61. avenell says:

If I was Almunia and I saw Diaby on his own, I would just expect him to deal with it.. No point in getting involved.

  62. JonJon says:

if i was almunia and i saw a chance to collect the ball and make it safe id do it…no matter who was infront of me…especially if it was only a few yards away and there was no attackers…

what gets me is that our defence was excellent…the back 4 and song were fantastic and rooney didnt have a sniff all game…when ak scored that goal that was the game because they never looked a threat

none of them did…we had them, they couldnt break us down…

we beat ourselves..but dont we always..

but it didnt help denilson giving the fucking ball away outside our box every time he got it..

other than that the rest were pretty good..even eboue..until he dived…

i just think that almunia, diaby and denilson are not big game players…

and thats not just a judgement from this game…its from the big games in the last few years…they bottle it every time…

  63. rico says:

Rooney wanted that penalty, it was the only way they could get back in the game, cheating little bad word!!

Why didnt Robin score, he was shocking again today!

And poor old AW, red carded, why ??

  64. rico says:

    Song my MOTM again today

  65. avenell says:

I loved Arsene’s post match interview..

I have got some good news for you guys and girls though.. 🙂 😦 🙂

  66. rico says:

    Go on Ave 😉

  67. JonJon says:

i didnt think robin was that bad…no worse than AK

its just we defended like demons but when denilson eboue and diaby broke forward none of them picked the right balls…

denilson kept giving it away, diaby was just as bad and eboue does what eboue does best where he knows how to get there but once hes there he doesnt know what to do and stops and passes it back to the midfield…

robin and AK were having to come deeper and deeper to get the ball so they were getting no help…

and robin couldnt have done anymore with that flick…foster made a bloody good save…

the problem today was songs partners and the keeper…everyone else did there job and if those three would of done theres we would of won that game…we threw it away…

of corse rooney was looking for the pen…but contact was made…almunia made the mistake…rooney just did what all strikers do…

AW was carded because when robin had the goal disallowed wenger thought it was a goal and ran down the pitch ala jose mourinho shouting into the mancs section…the 4th official heard him and the ref sent him off..

whats the good news ave??? rosicky cesc and nasri are back and we are selling denilson and diaby… 😉

  68. avenell says:

Rico.. I have just had an email from Arsenal News look in the links.. we are in.. 🙂

  69. avenell says:

That means your match report will be featured Jonjon.. 😉

  70. rico says:

JJ, just ignore me, I am peed off that we threw that game away – Eboue back to his old self, as was statman… we need two players at least and that I hope is Ave’s news 😉 😉

  71. rico says:

    WOOP WOOP 😛 😛

  72. JonJon says:

    your concerns are valid rico…

i agree we threw the game away but there are positives to take from this…we werent beaten..we werent outplayed…we threw it away by silly errors that didnt need to be made…

    two errors two goals…

but you cant make errors at OT and hope to get away with it…

  73. JonJon says:

i think we picked the wrong team anyway…if it wasnt for the defence we would have been hammered

we should have played eboue song AK in the midfield

    and robin bendtner dudu upfront…

the defence would have done its job just the same but our attack would have been more clinical and creative..

but ill save the rest for the report.. 😉

  74. rico says:

JJ – my 7.18 comment says just that, we out played them at OT, two stupid mistakes and we lost – I for one will not take anything other than positive from this game, no Nasri, Thomas or our Mighty Fine Skipper – also, no Theo from the bench 😉

All they were missed was an OAP Keeper and an Ugly sister, we are in for a great season 😛

We DO NEED a forward, I truly hope we get Chamakh…

  75. rico says:

Anyway you mutley bunch, I have a sore throat, a little bit of a high temperature and I keep ‘oinking’ – so I am off to bed with a few paracetamol 😦 😦

Look forward to you review tomorrow JJ
And great news about Arsenal News ave – good on you, got there in the end after a lot of hard work..

You all take care, until tomorrow

    Stay safe, nighty night 🙂

  76. peachesgooner says:

    Evening all

I can’t be too depressed – we had them on the rack, Song was very good today as were the back four but why play Denilson and Diaby – and leave them both on – when they can’t pick out a pass. Its football for goodness sake, surely they must be able to read the game by now and find a player in their own team.

Agree with whoever said that AA is off form – when I saw him at Barnet six weeks ago he wasn’t really up for it and it seems that hes still not. Great goal though – he must have been furious that Fletcher got away with that clattering in the box. We weren’t ever going to get anything in the box today though 😦

  77. peachesgooner says:

Nite rico – have you got the dreaded swine flu, wish you better.

  78. rico says:

Hi peaches, my better half is just getting over swine flu, just hope I have a little old cold – but thanks

  79. peachesgooner says:

Diaby dithered and dithered and dithered – its as if he thinks time stands still when he has the ball.

If all hes good for is running onto a great ball and scoring then play him in the games when the defence is suspect – if we need a creative pass hes not the man for that job 😦

  80. avenell says:

Keep him in the oppositions half Peaches behind our striker.. He could be better than Bendtner there..

I can get over the og that happens to even the best players. but it is other aspects of his game that concern me.

  81. avenell says:

Oh and I hope you are better tomorrow rico.. night night..

  82. peachesgooner says:

Agree ave – don’t ever let him pass the half way line 🙂 just let him run on to passes and smash it into the back of the net 😆

  83. avenell says:

Sorry Peaches just has dinner.. and watched MOTD.. not too bad at least Lee Dixon was on to keep “mad dog” Lawro at bay..

  84. peachesgooner says:

R u there ave – what to do with Diaby? The last two seasons we’ve seen him play brilliantly and disasterously – its so frustrating because when he is brilliant you can’t quite believe that he can be so dreadfull on other occasions.

Own goals happen – we know that and I’m not annoyed with that error a much as seeing him make a bad pass or get caught in possession. Of course if he’d buried his chance and Robin had scored from his then we’d be laughing.

So what happens to Fletcher now that its certain that he didn’t get the ball and we should have had a penalty??????????

  85. PDT says:

    So everyone’s disappointed we lost.

I am sorry we lost, but am still quite optimistic…this is not the end of the world for us.

Just want to make a few points :

    1. This team has heart. They ran and they ran and they ran till the whistle.

    2. It is early days yet. Losing to the mancs is not the disaster that everyone seems to think it is. We have a whole season to go, to say nothing of the international break (which has been a bigger problem for us than losing a game).

    3. The team that ran rings around the mancs was a team without Fabregas, Rosicky, Nasri, Theo and Vela. Spend a moment thinking what our first team should look like and the bench strength we have!

    4. The next three teams in the league are City, Wigan and Fulham. What will be important in these three games is how we play, how Arsene rotates and whether we can keep a clean sheet. Nine points from the three games will keep the fires burning till the winter.

BTW, I know some of you think that we don’t need to rotate at the beginning of the season, but that’s how you keep your best players rested as we approach the crunch months of December, Jan and Feb, which is the period when we have struggled in the past.

    5. Success in October hinges around the Champions League. The UCL draw has been kind to us. We have Std Liege and Olympiacos next month. It will be important for us to get full points from all three. If we can play Wengerball away at Liege and get a tennis score, that will really set the season up.

    6. Th most important thing is that everyone comes back from the international break fit and raring to go.

Plus, don’t forget, we could get some unexpected presents on the 2nd of Sept! I am still putting my money on a CB, with maybe a DM and a forward. My guess is Subotic (yes, I know he just signed a new contract), Matuidi and Chamakh.

Lastly, if I may allow myself the indulgence of a curse – I almost choked when I saw Lasagna playing in the same team as Kaka, Ronaldo, etc…may he burn in hell forever! We should have locked him up in the freezer and forced him to serve out his contract! Arsene was too nice to him.

On the other hand, AW might just be getting his mojo back – he did kick an unsuspecting bottle yesterday!

BTW, how many red cards did we pick up per season in the Arsene years while we were winning stuff and how many did we pick up in the last five years since Paddy left?

  86. Freire says:

    PDT,
4am and you’re writing this big text? LOL

I’m not so pacific as you are, mate.
    For me, Wenger is quit.

  87. PDT says:

Hi Freire, I am in Singapore, so it’s the middle of the day for me.

One result does not a season make.

    Morning Roadsters

Up with the larks, no sore throat and feeling tickity-boo…

This time last season after a result like that I would have struggled to sleep, but we out ran and out played the Mancs in their back yard. But for the Foster save, we would have been 2-0 up, a definate penalty and 3-0 up, game over.

We didn’t get the good fortune and ended up losing by an own goal..

I have great hope for this side, maybe AW will see that we need to buy now, more so than he did before.

30th Ausust, so 48 yours left Arsene to get those players we NEED!

    😛

Hard to swallow today’s result, yet trying to be unbiased is quite difficult. Both teams lined up with the view to cancel each other out,and for the best part of 50 minutes Arsenal appeared to have the upper hand. How mike Dean can justify the issueing on 9 yellow cards would be interesting to find out.As always it was a game of passion but never a dirty game.To lose by a penalty and an outrageous own goal, makes me feel absolutely gutted.i don’t think any true United fan would say that they deserved the victory, but the three points are theirs. The gulf between the two sides is minimal, and even allowing for players unavailable to both sides, both need to improve if they wish to challenge for the title. We lost but definitely not disgraced but the biggest clown on the pitch, unfortunately was, not for the first time Eboue, who was rightly booked for simulating a dive less than three days after the Eduardo incident.I am still upbeat and maybe for the moment chelsea are setting the benchmark

We were written off before the season started,so all in all, I see a new urgency and more determined effort by the team overall.A bad day at the office.I have purposely avoided the the two penalty decisions,(one given and one not) as i am sure there will be others debating this all day.

    Morning all

I thought Manure were there for the taking and we fielded an unadventurous side. I agree that Almunia and Diaby are not good enough and EE is a clown. I think Denilson is good enough with the right players beside him.

We were much better than them and that is why I was so sick. I had a large dose of ‘man’ disappointment.

  93. rico says:

Hello again – i am still not sure that was a ‘real’ penalty 😦

  94. chaf says:

It was more of a penalty than wednesdays I fear.

Still we will be able to highlight all the unnoticed fouls and get in touch with EUFA…

  95. rico says:

I agree chaf, we were much better than them and that is promising. None of our strikers (bar Dudu) have managed a goal yet, that is worrying and why I hope we get Chamakh, he is scoring for fun in France ..

Song was very solid again, but he can’t play every game, neither can Cesc – that’s when it goes wrong – Diaby, Denilson and Eboue are just not up to it. I would rather see Merida in there when Cesc is out

  97. kelsey says:

I forgot a Good Morning to all,

and Almunia though little to do in the first half looked distinctly ill at ease, and i haven’t changed my opinion on him.he is a good stop shotter, but doesn’t command his area.

  98. chaf says:

Morning – I agree Kelsey, he’s not good enough, but then who are the good goalies nowadays? Nearly all of them drop clangers. Even Cech is not as good after the bump..

    morning everyone.. New post..
