The Adebayor Show Continues-From Gooner to Goner..

Since last summer I’ve firmly believed that Ade would be sold on this summer. I wrote a post back in April explaining my reasons why I thought he was off…

For those of you who cant remember here’s the link;

When Ade first signed for Arsenal, Wenger knew what he was buying. He was buying a raw, physical, hardworking talent that if polished correctly, could become a gem. Arsenal were desperately in need of a Plan B striker. Ade’s physique, natural pace and work ethic made him a perfect candidate and although his finishing was abit suspect, he was young enough for Wenger to mould into the next superstar…

All these things aside, another attribute that Adebayor brought to the Arsenal party was his poor attitude. He was known at Monaco for being abit of a trouble maker. Regularly opening his mouth at the wrong times, saying the wrong things and ending up keeping the Monaco bench warm as a consequence. So why didn’t we see this part of his persona when he was settling into the side??? The answer is easy…

Thierry Henry!!!!

Adebayor was in awe of the talent he was playing with at Arsenal. He knew he wasn’t the best player in the squad, he knew he couldn’t make demands and strut his stuff in a team containing Thierry. Adebayor was a sidekick. A yes man, who kept his mouth shut and worked hard on the pitch to impress the man he was playing with. This was a hungry Adebayor, with everything to prove and he used his attributes on the pitch to make him one of the PL’s most feared strikers. Although his finishing was still leaving alot to be desired, his constant harassing, hounding and physical one on ones with defenders, left gaping holes for the other players in the squad to work their magic. Adebayor played as part of a team, he was a team man and he knew it and he was quickly becoming a fans favorite.

He finally got his chance when Thierry left. We needed someone to step up and with injuries to our other strikers, Ade played a whole season. With doubts about his finishing still hanging over his head he just stuck to what he knew best. Smashing into defenders, helping to create the gaps and due to his hard work more than his natural ability, he earned himself 30 goals and high praise from several quarters of the Gooner faithful.

So where did it all go wrong??? That ones easy too. No more Thierry Henry.

For some reason, Adebayor felt that he was the best player at our club. No longer was he a team man. In his eyes, he was the team. He was top dog.  His feet left the ground quicker than quick and his ego inflated at the same rate. His attitude changed from then on. He was no longer the young, hungry Adebayor in awe of the players around him with a point to prove. He became the Monaco Adebayor. The Adebayor who Wenger hoped he could control and use that cocky attitude to its most lethal potential on the pitch. How wrong Wenger was..

Ade’s attitude hasn’t only stopped with Monaco and Arsenal. We see it with the national side too. Adebayor repeatedly falls out with players and coaches and its all because of one reason. Adebayor fully believes he is untouchable.

Its such a shame because a more humble, more dedicated Adebayor with a mind set to keep on improving, could go on to become a truly lethal striker. That chance has gone.

One of Wengers motto’s is that you need to keep on believing you can improve, or you will never make a top player.

Ade seems to believe he has made it. He has proved how good he is by ‘that’ season, he doesn’t need to work as hard anymore, he has nothing left to prove and he couldn’t be more wrong…

Henry didn’t manage to score 30 goals and get 20 assists season after season because he thought he had made it after the first. He kept on improving, he kept on beleiving he could improve and he reached the same high standards season after season. Thats what made him so special, he knew he was the King, but he proved he was the King time and time again. Leading us to glory on several occasions..

Ade’ s 30 goals was a good personal achievement. Yet it wasn’t a good team achievement. There was no silverware at the end of it all. That’s exactly Ade’s problem. He is no longer a team player. He’s a ‘Team Adebayor’ player. And he’s lost touch with the fans because of it. The people who pay his wages? He no longer cares about and  I think Wenger realises this….

So the current transfer saga doesn’t surprise me, but why is it taking so long???

I have a couple of theories…

1…Wenger wants him out and Ade wants to leave, but he was hoping the constant flirting with Milan would mean they would be in for him this summer. They haven’t.. So ‘Team Adebayor’ has tried to force their hand by manufacturing a move to Citeh…with the terms and the fee agreed, the medical and the work permit completed, there is nothing else for Ade to do but to sign on the dots. Yet where are Milan??? Still no sign..Ade knows there is no way back now. So he’s delaying the move hoping and praying that Milan come in for him…

2…the rumours about how it will be perceived in Africa maybe true..but its a smokescreen..Ade is taking time out to make it look like he’s thinking carefully over the issue and when he makes the decision he will make out it was the fans that forced him out and he had no choice but to sign for Citeh..Besides, he wants to be part of the revolution and the opportunity is too good to turn down…its purely a football decision and its not about the money at all!!!!!!!!

Either way Adebayor is as good as gone and we have 25mil in the back burner. So what do we do with it?

25mil is alot of cash, it is for Wenger anyway..Wenger could buy the title for 25mil such is the genius of the man we have at our helm.

I think its fair to say that the majority of Gooners would like to see another striker brought in..Two names that are being branded about are Chamkaka and Huntelaar..From what I can gather, Chamkaka is another striker in the mould of Adebayor. Hes likes to run the channels and he likes to put himself about yet he misses alot of chances..We don’t need another striker like this..Huntelaar, although lacking in pace, makes up for it by his deadly finishing..Huntelaars a finisher and what this team needs is an assassin…Personally I don’t think we need another striker, we have enough and in Vela and Dudu we have our finishers..I’d question myself on the fact that Vela is still too young, and Dudu’s fitness still has to be proved over an entire season. They are risks..At a time where we are going into a 5th year without silverware, we could do without the i would be happy if Wenger paid that little bit extra and got Huntelaar..

The main part of the team for me that needs a good look at (and a good player) is the midfield…

A good footballing team has to have good individuals…but a great football team relies heavily on partnerships and combinations….

The GK has to have a good relationshipwith his defenders…The CB’s have to have a good partnership. The FB’s need a good partnership with the widemen. The CM’s need to have a good partnership and lastly the CF’s need to play well together…

I don’t see too much of a problem with the GK. Kolo and Gallas have looked abit rocky at times but Wengers moved swiftly to rectify that with the signing of Vera Lynne. The FB/wideman combo looks solid with Clichy/Rosicky and Sagna/Nasri. With Ade gone, we have several available partnerships upfront which look dangerous. AK47/anyone else would do me…The problem is the CM. Cesc is a vital and fundamental part of the way we play. So Cesc needs a partner..Someone who can play box to box. So the 25mil needs to go into the midfield…

1..Sell Ade

2..Buy a midfield warrior..

One down, one to go..

Have a great day peeps. Fingers crossed for the confirmation we’ve been hoping for…

    Brilliant JonJon!!!

Not only have you summed up the situation perfectly, but you have opened my eyes to elements Ade’s history and behaviour that I hadn’t considered.

I am still worried that because Ade’s main motivation is money, if Milan don’t make an offer and citeh (who are already appearing to cool on the deal) decide not to sign him, the remaining clubs who could afford to meet his ridiculous wage demands will look at his behaviour and track record and steer clear.

  2. JonJon says:

    morning rasp..thanks

he wont wait too long..if milan come in for him he will leave for aroud about the same wage…

if not..he’ll go to citeh for mega bucks…

    either way he wins

    and we win

  3. peachesgooner says:

Oh, I was going to say brilliant!!!!!!!!

    Fabulous read JonJon……

I remember when I realised Ade thought he was a superstar – he and Thierry were both injured towards the end of the 2007 campaign and they came onto the pitch at the end of a win – Thierry looking supercool and divine and Ade was wearing all white and high fiving everyone in sight. It was appropriate for Thierry as he was our captain but not for Ade, I remember thinking ‘who does he think he is, he’s stealing some of Thierrys thunder’.

I’m really worried this morning – theres absolutely nothing about the move in the papers. You could be right that hes considering his position to make it look like a football motive – I don’t think he or his advisors are clever enough for that. But we’ll see…..

  4. peachesgooner says:

    ….and Morning all 🙂

  5. peachesgooner says:

    ……and I’m going to footie tomorrow 🙂 🙂 🙂

  6. JonJon says:

    morning peaches

i think arsenal have been too quiet for it not to be true…and so have team adebayor…

    hes gone dont worry… 😉

  7. rico says:

    Top stuff JJ, Top stuff

I know I must be boring you all with my view on Nik, but I still think he is way off getting the 25 we need each season and I hope we get another striker when Ade goes.

  8. rico says:

I have just re-read the post JJ, it is such a shame that a human being can be so arrogant – a human being who wants to play a ‘team sport’ can be so full of himself. Looking back its so very clear to see how Ade has thought his is high above the others in the team, his selfish, self centered, one man goal celebration when he acores – wanting the others to run to him and share his glory –
Yet when someone else scores his attitude stinks, in fact its almost like he isn’t happy, jealous that someone else has done well.

Thankfully, the club know this and as that wonderful song goes

    ‘Time to, say goodbye’…….

  9. rico says:

Old Red Nose has bought a striker, Mame Diouf ….

    Never heard of him 😛

  10. JonJon says:

thats where the 25mil comes in rico

at the start of the window id of said our priorities were a CB and a CM

    we have our CB

we have 25mil to get our CM and a new striker for rico with whatevers left oer.. 😉

  11. Rasputin says:

    Morning peaches, rico,

Apparently citeh are lining up Forlan if the ADe deal doesn’t go through. I think the arab owners will lose patience if Ade mucks them about, and I don’t believe that MH is that keen on Ade any way. He’s alreday got 4 very good strikers who are all better than Ade.

  12. JonJon says:

i know rico, ades celebrations do my head in..

he never runs to congratulate the player who assisted him he always runs off by himself…

and when someone else scores he takes no interest..if he does join them he strolls in to the background and is last to say well done…

  13. rico says:

Forgot to say Good Morning to you all…. 😉

  14. Rasputin says:

I don’t like the inane way he lopes away smiling broadly after he’s missed a sitter……

  15. rico says:

That suits me very well JJ, I wonder if I could choose him too 😉

Rasp, I dont blame them if they do get fed up with the idiot’s antics – but Ade is driven by money as we all know and as soon as he gets a whiff of Citeh pulling out, I reckon he will panic and sign – fingers crossed eh 😉

  16. rico says:

Ah – thats why he is always smiling Rasp, because he’s always bloomin missing 😉

  17. JonJon says:

i think citeh are trying to force ades hand rasp…

  18. rico says:

I wonder if Chamkaka and the little waltzing ones will be presented tomorrow at the friendly, or maybe they will be spotted in the crowd – keep em peeled peaches 😉

  19. Rasputin says:

You may be right JonJon, but they don’t reaise just how stupid and underhand he is. If it becomes obvious to them that he’s just using citeh to get a deal with Milan, they’l drop him like a stone. I wouldn’t mind betting that there’s an ultimatum – sign by the weekend or forget it…….

  20. JonJon says:

and the weekend is where i expect him to leave us rasp…

and we unviel our new player(s) 😉

  21. avenell says:

    Morning Roadsters..

nice one JJ, your not keen on Ade anymore then?

Richard Dunne has just been on SSN saying John Terry should join them..
And the Man city subs are Richard Dunne, haha.

he also said Ade looks like he will be coming..

  22. rico says:

Morning ave – saw that with Dunne too, what a door knob 😉

Off or a while, catch you later

  23. JonJon says:

hi ave, can you honestly see anyway back for ade now at arsenal???

hes gotta be off…surely he cant stay…surely wont wont him to stay??

  24. avenell says:

I’ve just been to get my old laptop from the menders and the guy is a Man city supporter.. and he doesn’t want Ade.. haha.

IT helpline.. Oh and your screen is knackered JJ..

  25. JonJon says:

i know ave, i’ll have to get another..

it will be my 3rd one in less than a year… 😦

im guna have to stop watching the arsenal games online… 😆

  26. avenell says:

Take Ade off as your wallpaper.. it will last longer..

  27. avenell says:

It was good of AK47 to say about Cesc..

His vision is excellent, he plays every ball into a perfect position for our players. He is fantastic.

But they cut the bit out what said..

“although Denilson is the better player, because stats don’t lie”

  28. JonJon says:

hahaha ave i cant take Mr Arsenal off as my wall paper…what sort of fan would that make me????

AA’s a legend… and its nice to hear cesc say such good things about tomas

  29. peachesgooner says:

D’you think I’ll get to see Tomas tomorrow?

  30. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening all

Just a quick question, are you going to have a Fantasy League for the Avenell Road blog?

  31. peachesgooner says:

Hi gnarley – excellent idea, can we ave…can we????

  32. Irishgunner says:

    Afternoon all,

Is “he” still associated with our club?

  33. peachesgooner says:

Hi Irish – it would appear that ‘he’ is 😦

  34. Irishgunner says:

    Hi Peaches,

Darn it, would he just go away. Imagine if he jogged out at Barnet tomorrow 😯

  35. avenell says:

Peaches.. I don’t see why not if you want to.. I suppose you would like to do the Times one, lah dee dah..

Have a look into the best one and we can try to set it up if there is enough interest..

  36. Irishgunner says:

    Afternoon Avenell

  37. peachesgooner says:

Hi ave – yes I do rather like The Times one – i’ll do a bit of research and see how we can be part of theirs.

Irish – what d’you think – shall we have a fantasy footie thingy……

  38. rico says:

  39. JonJon says:

  40. Irishgunner says:

    Yep definitely Peaches,

    Afternoon Jon Jon and Rico

  41. avenell says:

    Afternoon Rico, Irish ..

Man City in for Lescott, I bet that goes through quicker than the Lazy one.. 😦

  42. rico says:

I think thats a great idea, and if i end up with 1M left in my kitty and need a cheap striker I can buy Ade from Citeh 😉

  43. rico says:

Everton have said he is not for sale at any price, we will see I guess 😉

  44. Irishgunner says:

This time its definitely the player holding up the deal and not Arsenal FC

  45. rico says:

Bloody weather (sorry) I have spent the last three hours fitting arm bands on our chickens 😉

  46. Irishgunner says:

    😆 Armbands

Rico sure you don’t want two kittens, they have the cutest little faces 😉

  47. JonJon says:

I would love them Irish, I really would but its unfair on them 😦

  49. rico says:

  50. avenell says:

I always liked Mull of Kintyre myself JJ..

  51. rico says:

    Ha Ha ave 🙂

  52. rico says:

And she still makes great sausages 😉

    RIP Linda

  53. rico says:

I got my new shirt today, the red one with short sleeves, the better half has the blue one 😉

  54. Irishgunner says:

One of them caught a field mouse this morning, they learn quick 🙂

  55. avenell says:

Did you get names on the back?

  56. peachesgooner says:

I’ve sent an email to the Times asking for info about how we can have our own league……

  57. Irishgunner says:

I’m debating whether I will get the new blue away shirt ….

  58. rico says:

I did ave, and its been on order for ages – you wont ever guess who’s name is on it ??

  59. avenell says:

    The bench warmer Theo?

The Avenell Road Times Fantasy league.. How posh..

  60. peachesgooner says:

  61. rico says:

I will give you a clue, I won’t ever be wearing it to a football match next season when I go 😉

  62. Irishgunner says:

    Bendtner 😀

  63. Irishgunner says:

    Adebayor 😯

  64. peachesgooner says:

That was my next guess 😛

  65. peachesgooner says:

    Nikki not Ade…….

  66. rico says:

Ha ha, no its the England Cricket Shirt with Jimmy on the back…..

  67. Irishgunner says:

  68. peachesgooner says:

    Silly us….. 😦

  69. peachesgooner says:

Irish – she was playing tricks on us…… 😉

  70. rico says:

Jimmy’s a Gooner, that why he is on the back 😉

    sorry, that was naughty 😉

  71. Irishgunner says:

    Who’s Jimmy?

  72. rico says:

    Jimmy Anderson, England bowler

  73. avenell says:

Fancy wearing a shirt with Vodaphone on it, tut tut..

  74. peachesgooner says:

  75. Irishgunner says:

    She was Peaches 😥

  85. avenell says:

    I’m a loyal supporter.. o2 for me!!

  86. rico says:

    Breaking news on Sky…..

Ade has been at the club this morning packing his bag and saying his bye bye’s – we should hear real soon…

  87. Irishgunner says:

Rasp wanted to go but he’s been asked to carry his bat………again…….

  90. rico says:

Around here though ave o2 gets no coverage, and neither do the others, Vodafone is the only one which does as we have a mast not too far away…

Bored ave,I have heard that the elderley get bored more quickly than the younger ones 😉

  91. rico says:

Thats funny ave – we get the money 🙂

  92. Irishgunner says:

Ibrahimovic to Barca and Inter get €40mil plus Eto’o plus some ice-cream

  93. avenell says:

I was going with Oasis and “champagne super nova in the sky” (blue) 😉

  94. avenell says:

Irish.. Is Hleb a Maureenho type player?

  95. rico says:

peaches, there won’t be cricket tomorrow, too much rain about

  96. rico says:

You could compare him to SWP’s ave, Moanrinho left him on the bench 😉

  97. Irishgunner says:

Apparently Mourinho wanted Hleb as part of the package.

He is going on a one year loan if the deal goes through.

  98. Irishgunner says:

Mourinho did play Damien Duff a lot though at the start for Chelsea and he is similar in how he plays to Hleb, although Duff probably hugs the touchline a bit more.

  99. rico says:

Its only a year loan though I think for Hleb ?

  100. peachesgooner says:

rico – is there rain tmoro, I thought it was gonna be nice tmoro and raining on sunday……

  101. Irishgunner says:

    Full squad to face Barnet:

    Manuel Almunia
    Vito Mannone
    William Gallas
    Johan Djourou
    Mikael Silvestre
    Thomas Vermaelen
    Tomas Rosicky
    Andrey Arshavin
    Jack Wilshere
    Thomas Cruise
    Craig Eastmond
    Luke Ayling
    Conor Henderson
    Francis Coquelin
    Jay Emmanuel-Thomas
    Mark Randall
    Emmanuel Frimpong
    Gilles Sunu
    Sanchez Watt
    Jay Simpson
    Nacer Barazite

  102. Irishgunner says:

Yep Rico – a year long loan.

  103. rico says:

    No Merida tomorrow then 😦

  104. rico says:

I hope it works out for him ….. 😉 😉

  105. Irishgunner says:

They have nice ice-cream in Milan, really nice – I tried all the flavours (expect the ones with nuts) so Hleb will love it there – the bench is quite comfy at the San Siro too 😉

  106. peachesgooner says:

    no Eduardo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  107. Irishgunner says:

He might still be on holidays? Didn’t he have the metal plate/pin removed from his leg so maybe he’s still regaining his fitness and getting up to strength.

  108. rico says:

Bordeaux chairman Jean-Louis Triaud has dismissed speculation linking Marouane Chamakh with Arsenal.

The Gunners are reported to be weighing up a €6million (£5.2m) approach for the Morocco international.

With Emmanuel Adebayor seemingly poised to complete a big-money move to Manchester City, Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his attacking options.

A cash-plus-player deal involving Mikeal Silvestre has also been touted, but Triaud insists no discussions have been held regarding Chamakh.

“Arsene Wenger hasn’t called me to say he is interested in signing Chamakh,” Triaud told France Football.

“Who has talked about Chamakh going to Arsenal? Journalists. These are just stories without foundation.”

That means he is coming to us then 😉 😉

  109. rico says:

Off for a while, catch up soon

  110. peachesgooner says:

No Traore or Senderos either – must be saving them up for something special…. 🙂

  111. Irishgunner says:

    Like a transfer?

  112. JonJon says:

everton have told citeh to shove their 15mil for lescott up their arseholes

  113. Irishgunner says:

Moyes seems very determined not to let anyone go.

Its likes he’s telling the board “I’ll work on this crap budget but don’t take any of my players away”.

Average football but he is doing well there.

  114. JonJon says:

hes a good manager…worked on a shoestring and turned them into a top 5 team..
they are the best of the rest and theyve even broke the top four monopoly.

hes the arsene wenger of the little teams

  115. Rasputin says:

    Afternoon Roadsters,

Going back to JonJon’s post and TH’s influence. I remember Ade saying that after TH left, he would phone him up after games and compliment him on his performance….. maybe in hindsight that wasn’t such a good thing.

Theo’s come out and said we should win ugly. In that case he should venture into the box more with the ball at his feet and win us a few penalties…

  116. JonJon says:

theres been several ossasions where AW has said that ades game still needs alot of work.. i’ll try find you the quotes..but it suggests that wengers lost patience…

  117. kelsey says:

That is an excellent post, well done.

The dilemma now is that the possibility is increasing the Ade is staying. No one else has come in for him,City could well go for Forlan, and just as pre season starts Ade once again is stalling the transfer,by allegedly his vast wage demand.

i think he can work out thatcity aren’t in the CL and the people of Togo would worship him, whoever he plays for.

That is the point,it’s all about himself, not the club.
Wenger has to show real strength now,and I wouldn’t like to be in his position if the deal falls through.A I sais before,i think Wenger realizes the predicament bur if Ade would just show some real commitment and be part of the team and not only be interested in himself, maybe with a god season,we can off load next season.

i suppose i am living in cuckoo land.

  118. kelsey says:

    and i can’t spell.

  119. rico says:

    Evening all,

    How are the teeth kelsey?

  120. rico says:

All quiet, so I am off – enjoy the evening

peaches, you have a fab day tomorrow and enjoy seeing Thomas in the flesh again 🙂

  121. rico says:

Ha ha ave – i have just emailed you my friend

  122. JonJon says:

    evening all…

    hi kelsey..cheers..

i dont want to even contemplate the idea of ade being an arsenal player next year…the damage is done…as a team and as a club we cannot go on like this…its not even every transfer window….it goes on through the season and enoughs enough…if we want rid of the negaitvity surronding the club then we have to get rid of ade…hes not even that important to the team….we are worth more than what he takes us for and its time he went on to another club and did it to them…

  123. JonJon says:

barca have confirmed they are swapping etoo for ibramovich…

  124. JonJon says:

and madrid have said we have made no approach for the huntelaar….

  125. JonJon says:

apparently ades held talks with wenger to ressurect his career but wengers told him to ride back out on the horse he rode in on…

  126. avenell says:

Rasp if the clubs finances are that bad.. why does the russian tosser keep buying shares?? it’s all spin to win the fans around..

  127. kelsey says:

    Good Morning all,
I am not sure IF ade goes any money will be spent.Wenger is no idiot, and he must have hopefully calculated with a fit squad including Eduardo,we don’t need any other attacking options.

I doubt very much we will see Rosicky play today, but having him in the squad is a psychological boost to the fans and some of the players.

it has been mentioned today on another channel that players should have some sort of charater test as well as football acumen.Diarra was a wrong decision,so was Hleb to an extent and now it appears that one player that is hated by at least 80% of the supporters is causing yet more unrest, just as pre season kicks off.

If i were MH and read the alleged stories about loyalty bonuses(which is also stated in todays Times) I would stay well clear.

If he stays,i would bench him and then sell him to whoever in january.Football is a business, and sometimes a short term loss is the best option.he cost 7 million, but at 80K a week, others in the squad will think, hang on a minute, what about me.

His loyalty is to himself and the people of Togo, and I fully agree that he is the most disruptive player ever to wear the shirt of Arsenal.

  128. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters,

This is the article from the ‘ever reliable’ Mirror…… On the strength of this, several other articles are reporting that the deal is done. The Bordeaux chairman has denied we have been in contact regarding Chamakh?

“Emmanuel Adebayor last night completed his £22million move to Manchester City – but remains locked in a battle with Arsenal over his £2m loyalty bonus.

The Togo striker is adamant he is due the cash from the Gunners because he did not put in a transfer request.

It is a demand that will leave Arsenal fans stunned as it was Adebayor’s apparent lack of commitment that soured their relationship with him.

The 25-year-old hit just 16 goals last season – as he courted the attentions of AC Milan – compared to the season before in which he smashed 30.

Adebayor – who will pick up £170,000-a-week at City – said his goodbyes to the Arsenal players and staff at the Gunners’ London Colney training ground yesterday.

He then trave l led to Manchester to finalise the paperwork to complete the deal.

Adebayor ‘ s wages a t Eastlands will be around double what he was earning at the Emirates, with his agents set to pick up around £2m for their “services”.

  129. Rasputin says:

    Hi Kelsey,

I wouldn’t have thought it was possible for Ade to go any lower in our estimation. He is in danger of becoming the most hated player of all time…… I’d rather have a beer with Bentley than Ade 😦

  130. raif says:

i really hope ade is gone.. i dont get how he can expect 2mill from arsenal.. if it wasnt in his contract then he dont have a leg to stand on..

why cant he just fuck off in silents

  131. Rasputin says:

    Hi raif,

I’ve just had a trawl round all the other websites and everyone is saying the same thing. The club has to be aware of the depth of feeling. The most amazing thing is that citeh even want him … he’s trouble, they will od us the biggest favour in football history if they take him off our hands.

  132. London says:

Morning all, from overcast, Maida Vale

I know I am a bit late but it is still important to me to say that I thought that was a really clever post. I must admit when I first saw it I expected a rant but my complements to a very well considered point of view.

“The most amazing thing is that citeh even want him” This has always been the reason for my caution…and still is. I am probably the most tolerant blogger on this channel when it comes to Adebayor but he is really trying my patience.

There seems to be four big named strikers that are likely to move in the near future: David Villa, Etoo, Ibramovich and Adebayor.

Out of all those the one certainty to me is that Barcelona will sign Villa which means that they will have to sell Etoo; he is most likely to go to Inter or City, my money is on the former.

My guess would then be that Ibramovich goes to Chelsea which leaves Adebayor to City? Are they really that dumb? I certainly hope so this saga is very detrimental to the moral.

I am also in the camp that would like to see another striker brought in if Ade does actually go.

Can’t wait to see footage of that “crock” Rosicky playing today…anyone who called him that should hold their head in shame today. Anyway good to be back…

  133. avenell says:

Afternoon Roadsters.. did anyone hear Ade’s agent on talksport?

He was saying that Ade is a bit shocked that Arsenal have sold him to Man city, and he isn’t sure if that’s where he wants to go..
I think he is waiting for another foreign club to come in for him (or even chelsea) to get near the wages that Man City are offering.
He will decide over the weekend, let’s hope Man City don’t lose patience.
He also said Ade was on or has been on holiday??

  134. avenell says:

Hi London.. How was the holiday??

The swap deal between Ibramovich and Eto’o is nearly done as far as I am aware..
Has Hunterlaar moved to Stuttgard yet? He’s a biggish name..

  135. peachesgooner says:

    Morning all

Yip yip yipeee – I’m going to football – how jealous are all of you out of towners 🙂

Hi London – how was your trip, are you coming to Barnet……

I’ll pop in before I leave xxxxxx

  136. London says:

    Hi Ave, Peaches

Although going to the Barnet game would be easy, the end my brother’s garden is one of Barnet’s corrugated iron stands, I can’t make it.

My holiday was very relaxing, I made my mind up the day before I left; the place was called “El Gouna”, now if you try and pronounce that you will probably see how I made my decision, lol.
It was in the snorkelling part of the Red Sea if anyone wants a recommendation for a five hundred pound holiday in a Swiss resort, just ask.

One funny story was one morning while I was on sophisticated Swiss holiday mode one of the waiters came up to me and announced, out of the blue, in a very strong Egyptian accent, that Arsenal was his team, to which my son said you are definitely at the right table; we chatted best we could and then thought no more about it as I carried on with my day.

The next morning, I go to breakfast and he rushes up to me and says “Have you heard the news about Abramovich”, to which I said “No”, he said “He has gone” I said what “Abramovich has left Chelsea” He said “Yes, I will show you in the paper” We started making our way through the breakfast area, blood rushing to my head, to find the newspaper. During this short walk any guise of sophisticated business man on holiday in Swiss resort went completely out the window as I reverted to Arsenal football fan, shouting at the top of my voice “Yes, yes, it is all over for them, they are finished without him. The other guests were not best pleased. We found the newspaper; which, to my disappointment revealed the name Ibramovich and not Abramovich. Lol

Ave, I don’t believe that swap deal with Ibramovich and Etoo. Valencia have to sell Villa; if he was going to go to Real he would have already gone; so, it seems logical that the only other place that he is prepared to go is to Barça.

  137. JonJon says:

    afternoon all…

    hi london..cheers fella…

    huntelaars still stalling ave…

can anyone believe the cheek of that bastard???? as if he hasnt done enough damage already and taken enough out of our coffers for naff all…..

    adebayor just fuck off already….

ive got a feeling bentley wont be the last former gunner to get his head kicked in…

  138. avenell says:

SSN…. He’s having his medical later today.. YYYYEEESSSSS!!!!

  139. London says:

I have been out of the loop, what do you mean about Bentley?

  140. avenell says:

Orlando Pirates 1-0 Man City .. haha.. they need Ade c’mon!!

  141. JonJon says:

bentley got a kicking in a restauraunt tother day london….

  142. London says:

You mentioned Huntelaar? Am I right in guessing that you think that there is a chance that he might join the good guys?

  143. JonJon says:

loyalty bonus my arse…what fucking loyalty????

  144. Irishgunner says:

Rosicky starts – Welcome back Mozart 😀

    Evening all

  145. London says:

I just can’t imagine what the shy, unassuming Bentley could have done to have provoked such an outrage. I’m sure all the jokes on that one have already been done to death.

  146. London says:

    Do we have a link?

  147. Irishgunner says:

    Its on Arsenal Online London.

Rosicky is running around the pitch smiling, he’s Captain too 😀

  148. London says:

    Got it, thanks….Hello Irish

  149. JonJon says:

i dont see why not london…real dont want him…stutgart have had an offer of 17mil accepted…hes stalling…weve got 22 mil from that wanker…

    theres a chance…

  150. JonJon says:

i like the look of germelene…looks like vidic..

    come on tomas…

  151. Irishgunner says:

    Evening London,

I don’t like links keep stopping on me, my computer is so slow to buffer 😦

  152. JonJon says:

does anyone agree that randall should be offloaded???

i know its pre season but every time i watch him i just dont get it…

  153. Irishgunner says:

Randall just seems to foul a lot.

  154. JonJon says:

yeah irish and give the ball away alot… i dont feel it with that lad…

  155. avenell says:

It’s a shame he plays a bit like flamini.. I quite like him except for his silly flicks etc..

  156. Irishgunner says:

Considering the other talent we have in the reserves at his age, I’d agree Jon Jon.

  157. Irishgunner says:

More of those in the next few months please Andrey 😀

  158. JonJon says:

again…i know its only pre season but i dont believe for one minute that we work on set peices in training…

wenger is an innovator…a moderniser of football….i think the basic parts of the game like set pieces are wengers weak points…

  159. avenell says:

    Man city 2-0

  160. Irishgunner says:

I just wish he’d admit it himself and hire a proper defensive coach. Martin Keown is just waiting … he’d come off the BBC coach for Arsenal.

  161. Irishgunner says:

    Ha ha poor City

  162. JonJon says:

hurry up and sign ade…looks like they need you.. 😆

he wont admit it know him better by now….

  163. avenell says:

I don’t think it helps that our players are 3″ shorter than the oppositions.. I think we could do with a leader/organser CH more than a coach..

I don’t understand why we don’t give man to man marking a go either this zonal thing never seems to work that well.

  164. Irishgunner says:

    I know 😦

Who is the dude sitting beside him on the bench?

  165. avenell says:

I wish SSN would stop showing Ade in a Arsenal shirt, it’s upsetting..

  166. JonJon says:

    i dont understand the zonal marking…its pointless…

everyone pick a man and stay tight….you dont even have to win the header you just have to do enough to put the player off from having a free header….

if we dont have tall defnders then the object of zonal marking is defeated

baresi was two foot and a tab end but was one of the best defenders ever..because he could man mark…same with cannavoro….

  167. JonJon says:

i hate that tosser…what a prick…hes brought nothing but shame to this club and what makes me laugh is theres still fans out there that defend him…

  168. avenell says:

Not proper fans … Proper fans put Arsenal Football club first.. and want to protect it from tossers..

  169. Irishgunner says:

    That’s a nice goal

  170. London says:

There’s a bit too much of the Joey Barton in Randall for my liking.

  171. avenell says:

While Randall wears an Arsenal shirt I am going to support him.. 😉

  172. avenell says:

Mark Hughes confirms Ade medical today.. 🙂

  173. avenell says:

Arsene says he is having a medical… get your bus ticket JJ..

  174. raif says:

the only thing that stamds between arsenal and getting rid of Ade is that medical….

let’s all hope he passes it with flying colors

  175. JonJon says:

he will long as they dont find his lazybone…

    is it confirmed now

  176. avenell says:

    It is on SSN 🙂

  177. Irishgunner says:

    Is it done?

  178. peachesgooner says:

Hiya – I’m back – wasn’t it nice to see Tomas running around with the ball 🙂

  179. JonJon says:

peaches how did he look??? did he look comfy..did he look like he was feeling it???

    was he happy??

  180. Irishgunner says:

    Hiya Peaches,

    Enjoy the game?

Rosicky looked like he had a smile welded onto his face ha ha great to see him back

  181. JonJon says:

    has it been confirmed yet…????

ive got a bottle of crystal in the fridge that ive been saving for mrs jonjons birthday but its getting opened tonight if he hurrys up and fucks off…

  182. Irishgunner says:

Thing is Adebayor is in Manchester and Citeh are in Dubai so will he fly out to be unveiled by Hughes?

  183. peachesgooner says:

Hiya – it was just lovely to be at football I have to say 🙂

Tomas was obviously very happy to be back playing footie – there was some lovely link-up play between him and Arsh and LJ in the opening minutes. He went into tackles with no fear so unless something hurts him tomorrow we could have him back 🙂

  184. peachesgooner says:

JonJon – are you all excited again 😀

  185. JonJon says:

    good times are here again…

tomas is back the tossernator has naffed off and we will win the fucking lot next year… 😉

  186. JonJon says:

hes gone hes gone hes gone….

    right who wants my babies…

ave i could even kiss you…..

  187. peachesgooner says:

Just had a phone to say he’s gone – SSN have announced it 🙂

JJ – no champagne for you tnite aren’t you off to dance with the citeh fans 😉

  188. Irishgunner says:

    Bye Bye Adebywhore

  189. London says:

You no longer wear the glorious red and white shirt of the club I love with all my heart…… now fuck off you disruptive banned word.

  190. JonJon says:

    get in london….. 🙂

i knew you had it in you…

i wanna go peaches but i cant get through to my pal…

i might just get the train and go celebrate sinfle handed…i wonder how many citeh fans will be there???

i hope they realise if the money doesnt fuck the club up….adebayor will

  191. Irishgunner says:

  192. peachesgooner says:

London – well done to you, we had a few battles over our different opinion of Adebayor – I realise now you loved him because he wore our shirt but now you don’t need to 😆

  193. peachesgooner says:

JonJon thats not very nice – could you moderate it a bit d’you think 😀

  194. raif says:

his gone his finally fucking gone.
