Who Broke My Heart? You Did (Arsene).

I had been looking forward to our first appearance at Wembley since it was rebuilt. We ruled Cardiff, we left a groove in the M4 the amount of times us Gooners drove down there.

We were just about favourites in the eyes of the pundits yesterday, until about 4.30 in the afternoon when the teams line up’s were announced…..I lost my appetite for the game at this point.

Diaby, Denilson, RvP in midfield, taking on Essien, Ballack and Lampard. Mr Wenger can you work out why we lost????

We are Arsenal we play to our strengths not try to counter others.

Since January when we had all those nil nil draws we have been slowly building up a head of steam, Arshavin signing and when he started playing and got himself fit showed the difference in waiting 5 years for a player to come good and top quality.

Wengerball was back, even without our Cesc, Nasri has started to show why we paid so much money for him. Song came on leaps and bounds and even started to show his fiercest critics he is better than alright.
Theo came back and has shown what he can do on the right wing, Nasri moving into the centre and ruling games, Arshavin cutting in from the left.
Then we reach a big game and Arsene tries to be too clever, too much choice instead of playing our strongest team he stretches the paper thin squad over 3 games and as usual it doesn’t work.

I hate Mourinho but when it came to team selection and substitutions he was the best. Why not have a look at his record and his team selections. I am starting to fear that perhaps Arsene needs a little help and not yes men who can settle for excuses.

On another blog yesterday someone wrote they enjoyed the game but not the result!!! Has anybody ever enjoyed a game where we lost??? Then they go on to say they are better supporters. Unbelievable!

As for the game, we played okay to start with they cut off Cesc, We then stopped passing and just hoofed it up Wimbledon style to Lazybayor. You all saw it why I don’t need to go over it today as we are all pissed off!

Fabianski. 3… Like a cat on a hot tin roof, the game was too big for him.

Eboue. 4 .. In fairness if Arsene had left him as a right back he probably would have played better.

Toure.. 5… Not at is best but, he was trying to make up for the players either side of him, why he doesn’t manmark Drogba I don’t know it is always the other centre half who lets him in.

Silvestre. 4… A few bad passes and lack of pace let him down .

Gibbs. 7.5… Ah a player who had a very tidy game, caused all sorts of problems down the wing and defended well.

Denilson. 3… Out of his depth, too lightweight.

Fabregas. 6… Never really stood a chance, once he was closed down the rest of the midfield offered no outlet.

Diaby. 4… Just back from injury again, how he walks back into the team is shocking, cannot pass, defend or keep the ball. One driving run a match is all we can hope for.

Walcott. 7… Theo played well, needs to look up before he crosses apart from that he is getting involved more.

Rvp. 5… Arsenal’s striker, Holland’s right winger, played at left wing. What a waste!

Adebayor. 4…. Lazy, poor touch .It’s no wonder Terry and Ferdinand said they hate playing against him, that has helped fool Wenger and Arsenal in giving him vast amounts of money that he barely deserves.

The subs were too late, the game was already lost.

    Morning Roadsters.. 😦

I did this post as a quickie to start debate, but you had already started.

  2. JonJon says:

hahahaha nice one ave….. id of given diaby the same as denilson though….

  3. rico01 says:

    Morning Ave…

  4. avenell says:

Hi Rico.. If the players feel as bad as we do, that’s season over. How can they pick up from this? The dominos have started.. 😦

  5. Rasputin says:

You’ve said it all ave. In a big game you look for leaders – in times of turmoil on a website, you look for the owner to take command. I think you have shown that you are ‘the man’ on this site. The truth hurts and you’ve told it…….. well done 😛

  6. Big Raddy says:

Nice to be back on AR.

We have mentioned the underlying problem of AW’s selection – being re-active to the Chavs, as opposed to active in his selection.

Sure, we lacked some height in midfield (tho’ not playing Song belies that argument).

Hiddink nullified Cesc’s threat with Essien and Lamps, which surely meant we should play another creative MF.

  7. chaf says:

    Morning Ave

What did Diaby do to get such a high mark, did he do 4 things in the match? I can’t remember…

  8. avenell says:

    Thanks Rasp..
I wish Arsene could say he made a mistake every now and again, at least we might get some idea he will put it right.
But if he thinks he has been perfect this will always happen, it was Stoke City all over again.

  9. JonJon says:

the question is how do we recover from this….is it the domino effect as ave suggests…. which i believe….or do we spank liverpool et al and win the CL??????

  10. avenell says:

    Morning Chaf.

Re ..Diaby at least he had the old coming back from injury excuse. Not a very good 4 then.

  11. avenell says:

    Morning Raddy.

  12. chaf says:

Denilson is still very young, does anyone know how old he is, its no excuse I know he could develop.

  13. London says:

Morning Ave, good post, hope you don’t mind the tweeks.

  14. avenell says:

    Morning London.. Hows your head?

I just done a Kelsey and blasted that out in half an hour, didn’t really feel like it tbh.. thanks!!

  15. JonJon says:

denilsons 20…i think….but hes not really improving enough for me and he makes the same mistakes every game….

song has come under just as much critisism from me but he has rapidly improved and is showing signs of a quality player….

denilson shows signs of an average player….and if im honset id rather buy somebody whos 25/26 who has quality, than wait 5 years for somebody to stay average…

  16. avenell says:

With Denilson, he is okay as a back up to Cesc or he can come into the team with few changes, but coming into a team with our striker playing left wing and Diaby was suicide. That pass he made to Diaby before Chelsea hit the post was amaturish.

  17. chaf says:

    Saw your comment last night!

Really mixed my drinks yesterday, cider, wembley lager, Tiger, Stella and cider. The match spoiled a good day out, and I got curry on my white Harrington! The policing was bad at Wembley, and its still a shit hole.

  18. chaf says:

    Jon Jon

Def agree with you. Why wait, if he does eventually get good he’ll be off for good wages somewhere..

  19. avenell says:

Denilson is 21 and has played over 50 first team games now practising to be an Arsenal player.
    We cannot afford this.

  20. JonJon says:

well spotted ave…. denilsons pass to diaby was amatuerish…. and diaby trying to dribble it out was just as bad….. summed up their performance i thought…

still i really enjoyed the game and watching us get beat….. 😆

  21. JonJon says:

ive got all the time in the world for song now….

he’s shown me enough since his early season blips to show me hes going to be very usefull in later years….

diaby and denilson just havent done enough and if we sell them both we could buy somebody whos ready…. and ready now…..

  22. JonJon says:

hell id even take barry over denilson and diaby…. thats 100% definate

  23. avenell says:

We spent £5 million on Ramsey, £3 million on Merida. too much money on maybee’s when we have barely got it.

The stadium made us skint so we would have been better of buying for today, We could always buy for tomorrow when the debt was cleared.

  24. chaf says:

Its obvious to everyone. Some players are not up to it, do you think Diaby is brilliant in training? How does he walk into the team.

  25. JonJon says:

because hes french and wenger wants to prove everyone wrong….

well after yesterday im not giving wenger any more time…. he wins the CL or he sorts the squad out in the summer or he goes… ive had enough…..

  26. avenell says:

Would Ferguson put up with diaby? Sometimes the experiment has to stop, it’s gone too far. there is loyalty and stupidity and it is now getting too near the latter.

  27. JonJon says:

fergie wouldnt even put up with staam..horsehead…or becks…. diaby wouldnt stand a chance with fergie….

but thats what the difference is between a winner and a loser….. a ruthless streak…..

  28. Big Raddy says:

    Easy JJ.

One of the differences could be that Fergie has 3 players in the team that cost over £30m, and a number around £20m.

Give AW similar financial clout, and then see who is the winner.

  29. JonJon says:

i wouldnt be surprised if song and AA didnt play against liverpool…. just so wenger can vindicate his selection for yesterday….

but if he does that….we’ll lose again…

im upset when we lose like we all are… but to lose in such a manner is just down right disrespectful to the fans who have stood by him for so long…its an insult to feild a weakened team in a FA cup semi against one of our rivals…..

  30. JonJon says:

    i know raddy….

totally agree with that… but wenger persisting with players that continually let him down isnt the best thing for the club…..

diaby cost 2mil….ramsey cost 5….merida 2…. etc etc…. why????? why dont we just buy the real deal…. one top class player who can play in the team now… and not persist on wasting the transfer funds we have on players that wont be ready for years….

    in diabys case….never be ready….

  31. avenell says:

We paid £15 million for Nasri and £15 million for Arshavin and they are left on the bench.

In fact without knowing who exactly was on the bench, I would say it was possibly more expensive than the team we fielded.

  32. Rasputin says:

I still don’t think AW understands how important the FA cup is to the fans – especially after a 4 year trophy drought (or maybe he doesn’t care?)

The only good thing I can take from yesterday is that our fans comprehensively outsung theirs…..

  33. Big Raddy says:

Let’s not get into the ‘youth policy’ discussion. I agree that money would be better spent on established quality.

The Dippers game has little meaning, win or lose.

Would it be beyond AW’s powers to explain his team selection yesterday? 40+k Arsenal fans spent millions going to watch a team that none of the fans would have picked. AW owes it to the fans who pay his wages

  34. Big Raddy says:

    Let’s not forget Gibbs, Rasputin

  35. avenell says:

Raddy I don’t know if you read my This is where the youth policy fails post. But I could see it happening, it always does every year. Barca, Last year Man U and Tottenham, This year Tottenham when we reach the big games we always fail. It cannot be a coincidence anymore Arsene needs to look deeper.
We never look stoked up to win unless we go behind.

  36. JonJon says:

We have a bigger target now in front of us, which is the Champions League, and of course the Championship -we want to come back as close as possible, and stay fourth. We have big targets.”

    wenger threw the game….

  37. JonJon says:

the only two players in the side that gave a performance yesterday were theo and gibbs….

    two english players….

going back to rasps point about what the FA cup means to us….

i think its just us…… the rest of the team and the manager want the CL…..

wrong attitude om afraid…. it definately meant nothing to ade…..he might as well not have turned up…

  38. Big Raddy says:

Nothing on AA. A man who didn’t play midweek…..

    Why was he rotated?

  39. Rasputin says:

Good point Raddy, I’m in error – Gibbs and Theo have been our best players in the last two games. Unfortunately therein lies a problem. Gibbs is currently playing better than Clichy was IMO – but Clichy will walk back into the side whereas the rest of the footballing world has seen what a mature and composed young player he is and will no doubt be enquiring re his availability

  40. JonJon says:

im back…. been for a stroll in the sunshine….

you are right rasp…. clichy will walk straight back into the team….whereas, IMO also, Gibbs has been better defensively and going forward….and deserves to keep his place….

  41. avenell says:

Why doesn’t Kolo man mark Drogba? Drogba always picks on the weakest of our CH’s and scores. Silvestre/Sendesaurus.

  42. JonJon says:

i dont think kolos ever been good at marking…he’s always been the side kick…the recovery defender….but you would of thought against a hoofing side with a powerful forward you’d of told your quickest defender to stick to said forward…especially when said forward does the same thing to you game after game…..

  43. Big Raddy says:

Seems pretty basic to me JJ/Ave

  44. JonJon says:

does anyone think we’ll beat the dippers????

  45. kelsey says:

    Good Afternoon,

well i have read all the comments, and i can’t add much more than i and everybody else said.I do remember once Wenger dropped henry and replaced him with aliadaire in a Cup Game.realistically our best chance of winning anything has gone, and regardless of who did or didn’t play, chelsea were there for the taking, they never overan us,we literally handed them their goals and other chances on a plate.

i have maintained all season that we need a world class keeper, and although Almunia has performed admirably, what will yesterday do to Fabianski’s confidence.i have also said Silvestre was a united cast off and regardless of cost, was a waste of money.i also believe RVP was carrying an injury going into the game, and one shot at goal was pathetic.

JJ you ask about the dippers.I think we will get slaughtered by at least 2 goals and then hopefully regroup for the home game against boro.

The FA Cup s steeped in history as the greates cup competition in the world and yesterday we were let down big time by the boss and the players.

  46. JonJon says:

jesus…. have you seen the manutd line up….. fergies throwing it as well…..

if everton dont win today then they have to look at themselves….

fergies obviously got the PL and CL in mind….so i can understand that…

but we have only the CL left so i dont understand why we did what we did…

kesley…i agree with that…. liverpool will take advantage….

  47. kelsey says:

they will probably read this, but do me a personal favour don’t go on that bigoted site again.Just read the latest comments, hardly a word about football let alone Arsenal.

  48. JonJon says:

fuck em kelsey…. let em read…. if they havent got their heads in the sand its up their own arses….. one of em even said last night that he enjoyed watching us lose…. then had the audasity to question my faith the the badge…

  49. JonJon says:

i bet he even clapped when chelsea scored the equaliser… good play old sport….. if he wasnt in the bar munching on a prawn sandwich… 😉

  50. JonJon says:

if wenger wants a left footed CB then he should look no further than lescott….

  51. rico01 says:

I was about to post re the Man Utd line up – I reckon its all to do with the CL and not taking a risk (Arshavin aside) Mind you, and for Manure, the EPL title is most important..

    Bizarre ??

  52. rico01 says:

Actually – i stand by what i have said before over and over – Football is a fix!!

  53. rico01 says:

    I mean, Football is fixed!

That means this year we will win the CL 😛 ……!!

  54. kelsey says:

Did you read that DDm and charybidis both reckon that Wenger was forced to buy Arshavin by Gazidis, going against his all out youth policy.i always wondered why we didn’t buy him last summer.interesting thoughts on that, but who knows.

  55. kelsey says:

it has already been proved that some games are fixed with players, refs and UEFA personel involved.Any sport were money is gambled on is always open to coruption.

  56. JonJon says:

i hope so rico…. or wenger has to go…. i stand by that statement…. 😦

  57. JonJon says:

kelsey i agree with that…. re AA

friar was initially the man who was conducting proceedings…so gazidis could see how things operate and he was going to let the deal fall through…gazidis stepped in and closed the deal..

  58. rico01 says:

No JJ, there is no better manager out there for us, honest 😉

kelsey, i know, it makes me cross that clubs get away with it.. look at today, fergie has said he wants to win all available, but this team will get beaten by everton i think.. talking of everton, no way will moyes sell any of he players, they are going to be in the top 3/4 soon, in the place of the dippers or russians of course – we will be right up there next year 😉

  59. rico01 says:

The FA Cup is all about the ‘F’ word

Foster and Fabianski having mares 😉

  60. JonJon says:

i know it sounds a little harsh rico….

but i want a manager who picks his best players for the big games…. i want a manager who doesnt disrespect the fans by throwing a crucial game….

i lost all respect for wenger yesterday not only as a manager but as a man of honour also…..

the only way he can make it up is if he proves me wrong and wins the CL….

  61. JonJon says:

    the F word… hahaha rico…..

  62. kelsey says:

Really it is all about the fact that Wenger has complete control over the spending at the club or not.if he is working on a restricted budget like some Championship club, then he has performed miracles to even keep us in the top 4.On the other hand if his control is that he is blind to see that the emphasis on youth and bizarre signings like Bischoff and silvestre will improve the squad, plus a track record of either buying injury prone players or keeping them for evermore, when obviously money is available, then i believe we have had the best of the great man.He is under no pressure to win anything, and that is unique in itself, and therefore complacency can or has set in.

  63. JonJon says:

thats a point i agree with kelsey….complacency has set in…. im hoping the gazidis/kroenke combo start to change that…..

  64. rico01 says:

I am staying out of the Arsene stay/go, i love him and never want him to leave 😛

  65. rico01 says:

but, i would add that i dont always think he know’s best 😉

  66. JonJon says:

    hahaha…. you go girl….

arent you abit hurt though rico from yesterday????

  67. rico01 says:

for sure JJ, but i cant change that result, today is another day 😉

  68. avenell says:

Are you there Rico for a tennis match?

  69. JonJon says:

    you are a ray of sunshine rico…. 😉 x x

im flicking through the fa cup and the valencia game…. our mans playing… we sign him and all will be forgiven…. 😉

  70. avenell says:

    HeHe Everton in the final!!!

  71. JonJon says:

at least manure wont win the quad…..

    and we’ll finish 4th…

    a successful season then????

  72. peachesgooner says:

Hello – I would lke to concur with rico that arsene doesn’t always know best

    How are we all?

Everton in the final then blah blah blah

  73. London says:

All the manc sites are calling for Ferguson’s resignation: shocking team selection.

  74. peachesgooner says:

ave – what a fine post you wrote on such a very sad morning 🙂

  75. peachesgooner says:

Hi London – did you get completely ratted last night?

  76. peachesgooner says:

Where have you all gone – don’t leave me all alone thats not fair 😦

  77. avenell says:

Thanks Peaches.. How was your day yesterday apart from the result?

  78. avenell says:

There was only a 3 minute gap ..lol

  79. peachesgooner says:

hi ave – well I have to say that the weather was fantastic, I did find a couple of girls to travel with to the ground, I sent you a photo of my view – you didn’t even reply – the football was rubbish cos our team selection was pants and the chavs don’t know how to play football and then we lost……….had lots of beers with some men later and came home…..

  80. peachesgooner says:

…….I’ve managed to avoid the chocolate all day but I do feel the need for some now……

    How was your viewing experience?

Did you/anyone want me to pop round to Arsenes this evening and have a chat about team selection?

  81. JonJon says:

fergies bound to get a bashing…but with one trophy already in the cabinet… and two more still to go for….including the PL….its understandable he did what he did…

we on the other hand havent lifted a cup in 4 years….and we only had two cups to go for….the other is not for a fortnight…so we could of rested our players in the PL…. we cant win it….and we are nearly safe in 4th….

fergies decision was based on the fact he doesnt value the FA cup as much as the CL or PL…

    wengers was just stupidity…..

  82. peachesgooner says:

I see, you’re not really there, you’re just fooling me into talking to myself………

  83. kelsey says:

    I just loved Berbatov’s penalty 🙂 🙂 32 million,Hahaha

  84. avenell says:

Sorry Peaches I didn’t get that message, my steam driven Nokia isn’t set up for pics I don’t think.
What was Wembley like compared to the Emirates?

  85. peachesgooner says:

JonJon I absolutely agree with almost everything you’ve said today and I shall never understand why he wouldn’t want to be in the FA cup final – afterall it was one of the first trophies he won with us.

  86. kelsey says:

but late now,i told rasputin to phone you when we heard the team Arsene was putting out. What do you think of the arshavin rumour, that he was a forced buy.

  87. JonJon says:

that penalty was the best ive ever seen from a 32mil player kelsey….

i tell you what though… i want lescott in this team next year….

  88. avenell says:

Peaches you need to divert the Chelsea open top bus past Arsene’s house.. It may help his memory..

  89. peachesgooner says:

Wembley is very similar to the Emirates in set up – we at the Emirates have much nicer seats though, what did you think London/chaf?

What I thought was dreadful was the way we were herded to the station alongside the chavs – it didn’t kick off where I was but it was very uncomfortable.

  90. peachesgooner says:

kelsey – where did that rumour come from? Arsene must see how AA has added so much to the performances of the team recently – if its true, Arsene really is a stubborn old goat.

Yes, rasp was keeping up to date of the disquiet amongst you who were left at home 😆

  91. JonJon says:

    thankyou peaches…..

so you had a terrible wembley experience????…..i was speaking to a true hardcore arsenal fan yesterday who said he really enjoyed the game??????

  92. peachesgooner says:

What?????????????????? How could you really enjoy the game when Diaby was on the pitch and Arshavin was on the bench – nah, he must have gone somewhere else 😆

  93. kelsey says:

    read my 4.28 peaches.

  94. kelsey says:

JonJon is right,he actually enjoyed us losing, mind you to be frank i think he is clueless 🙂

  95. JonJon says:

yes he did peaches….up his own arse!!!!!! 😉

  96. JonJon says:

    LMAO Kelsey….

  97. peachesgooner says:

The wembley experience is not that terrible – I was surprised how quickly the stewards ushered you out of the ground as at the Ems supporters are encouraged to stay behind for up to an hour to lessen the burden on the underground and surrounding streets……….

I suppose if you’re used to going to the Emirates all the time Wembley is not so different. I spoke to a friend who’d been in club Wembley and they have a better selection of places to eat than our Club level.

  98. JonJon says:

lets hope gazidis forces wenger to buy lescott, alonso, silva and villa…

  99. peachesgooner says:

I was just thinking the same thing JonJon…..

  100. avenell says:

Although I don’t believe the Arshavin tranfer wasn’t Arsene’s choice. Normally when a big signing comes to Arsenal isn’t there normally a big press conference with Arsene and the shirts etc?

  101. JonJon says:

    thats a good spot ave….

lets hope we see the same when we sign villa… 😉

one good thing about having a really successfull season and finishing 4th….again…. is that adebayor will go this year… 😉

  102. JonJon says:

guys….if wenger didnt really want AA…do you think he left him out yesterday to prove a point to gazidis…..

i hope my theory is right…. and i hope they have him in the office tomorrow morning….

  103. peachesgooner says:

I hope there isn’t any friction between Gazidis and Arsene – they should both want the same success for the team

  104. JonJon says:

im sure they both do peaches… but arsene wants to do it his way…..but that hasnt worked for years…..i hope gazidis gives him 40 mil to spend and tells him to spend it…..

  105. chaf says:

The 4.59 comment was magnificent. Couldn’t agree more..

I still think Wembley’s a shit hole. We nearly got in a few scrapes before and after. the policing was bad, and there was no segregation. Mind you we were with some fifty something bruisers. And as I said before we left the area at 11pm and I got curry on my white Harrington!

  106. chaf says:

Somethings gotta give somewhere, surely someone at the club is higher than AW. He should get a yellow card

  107. JonJon says:

gazidis said earlier in the season that 4th place isnt good enough anymore….

for too long now wenger has lead fans a merry dance making them think that we are a little club exceeding beyond expectations…. yes we have won many trophies under wenger…. but we won many trophies before wenger too….we are not a little club… we are the biggest club in englands capital and always have been…..

its time we started delivering and wenger needs someone to tell him so….

  108. rico01 says:

The sad thing is that none of us know the real facts, and we all speculate, sometimes i wish the truth could come out, but then we would all be even more confused 😉

  109. peachesgooner says:

chaf – I did feel very vulnerable walking away from the ground, there was some nasty banter going on between fans – obviously there was a big police presence. I’m not sure – barring holding fans back how that can be solved.

  110. kelsey says:

It wont happen but i would really like to know the thought process Wenger went through when he picked the team, then saw at half time the deficiences but left it until the last few minutes to make any subs, which by then was far too late.He cannot possibly justify what he did.

  111. peachesgooner says:

Excuse me chaf – whats a Harrington?

  112. avenell says:

You should have worn your black day time Harrington mate.. and black Loafers..

  113. peachesgooner says:

    ha ha keep it a secret then – I don’t care 😆

  114. peachesgooner says:

Mrs Snoop has solved it herself – a bit of Vanish and a soak using cold water should remove the curry stain

  115. rico01 says:

I am off for the year, nighty night 😉

    Be safe 🙂

  116. avenell says:

Rico I have a special treat for you !!!

  117. rico01 says:

What is that Ave – I need my beauty sleep 😉

  118. chaf says:

Sorry – someone called me. A Harrington jacket is an old sixties blouson jacket modelled by the likes of Rodney Harrington in Peyton Place, Steve McQueen, and similar to the red one worn by James Dean in ‘Rebel without a cause’ It was adopted by skinheads in 1969, and me, and I’ve had one ever since.

I don’t have any Loafers at the mo Ave, got some nice American Brogues, had a mustard Fred Perry on and some green Gazelle Addidas trainers. (And the lucky Levis- but probably buttoned them up the wrong way yesterday)

  119. rico01 says:

Have you got me a camper van ????? 😛

  120. chaf says:

I’d like to know what goes on in his mind as well. Some parts of it are magnificent like the South of France, some of it must be the back streets of Marseille.

  121. chaf says:

    Nuts in May BBC4 9.00pm – if you haven’t seen it….

  122. chaf says:

And I know that Marseille is in the south of France! But back streets of Paris are not as descriptive….

  123. chaf says:

If I wanted to talk to myself, I’d still be married….

  124. chaf says:

I’ll be back later. Will you? Yeah.

  125. avenell says:

Rico if you are still there I have e mailed you – Nita x

  126. London says:

The policing was bad but I can promise you from where I was the biggest danger did not come from the chavs it came from the people that me and Chaf were with: they are no shrinking violets. As we came out our side at the end we were walking to the bridge, two very loud chavs were walking fast and loud mouthing how they were in another final….that was until a knee went in their bollocks….he shut up. Then we started walking towards the bridge where there was a great mass of the two sets of fans. At this point me and Chaf were starting to get very worried…..not of the chavs but of the people we were with. Sort of fun in a scary way.

  127. London says:

How can Wenger possibly justify playing Diaby over Arshavin?

Perhaps for the ariel support the Frenchman offered our make shift defence at corners and set pieces. It’s quite easy really.

  128. peachesgooner says:

London – sounds like you were with the right crowd, if a little scary.

chaf – you must’ve looked super cool in the jacket but make sure you button up the jeans the other way next time 😆

  129. London says:

What do I think of the idea that Arshavin was a forced buy…………..compete and utter bollocks.

  130. London says:

    He loves that jacket

  131. London says:

    It’s too quiet, I’m off

  132. JonJon says:

    hi london…

i cant agree with that…. diaby has shown in games he’s played hes useless at defending…especailly set pieces…. all we did was take away our most potent attacker… from a wide area where chelsea were vunerable…and put a player whos a liability in a narrow area…..

chelsea are a narrow team….we let them play narrow… wenger handed the game to chelsea….

cechs been shot for form and other than the goal we never tested him once….no long shots…no high balls….

the tactics were flawed and we lost….

and im not buying into the fact it was a makeshift defence…. the same defence did a job against villareal with the right midfield set up in front of it….

we had eboue at right back….and weve been told ll season that eboue can still get into any PL team at RB…. kolo and silvestre…who are two seasoned pros….and gibbs who is no worse defensively than clichy…. the defence wasnt the problem…. it was the midfield…..

the midfield was a problem because wenger tinkered with the team for no reason at all…. square pegs in round holes….. not for the first time this season…..

wenger said we were going to attack…. but his team suggested he wanted to defend… why… we cant defend and never have been able to close out a 1 nil purposely since the days of GG….

we are an attacking team and wenger took the attacking players out of the equation…. wrong move…. and chelsea took the game….

  133. Benwell says:

    Hi there

New to the site, but I guess I know a few of you.

Selection was indeed pants, he reverted to all his favourites rather than going on form and robbed us of a funny rendition of “We’ve only got one Song!”

Good that Old Mother Riley couldn`t fix the pens lets just hope that the Blue nose Scally`s can hold out against the plastic chavs. Managed to upset a few yesterday, tickets on general sale at the bridge up to 10 each, touts prices £250 AFC end £100 Chav says it all really!

  134. avenell says:

Hi Benwell. Welcome to Avenell Road mate.. Yea we have all been around the block a bit.

  135. JonJon says:

    evening benwall…

we have indeed only got one song…. 🙂

  136. Rasputin says:

Evening all, I’ve just arrived as you’ve all gone to bed 😦

  137. Rasputin says:

What a bummer that the toffees are in the final – we’d have rinsed them………..

  138. avenell says:

Not yet Rassy mate.. Have you cheered up?.. I’m right hacked of still.
Seeing Everton win today as well, we should have the FA cup in the Emirates this year.. 😦

  139. London says:

    Evening Benwell

That was a good comment, hope you come on again and give us a few more. Apparently, the chavs didn’t sell out untill last Wednesday and as you say they could buy up to 10 per person. Someone told me that they couldn’t even sell out the game against the dippers. Tossers.

  140. Rasputin says:

Agreed ave – it looks like SAF attaches as little importance to the FA cup as our esteemed leader if you go by his team selection today – mind you he has better cause as he’s favourite to win the prem and already won the CL

I haven’t cheered up – I still feel sick to the pit of my stomach because the chavs were nothing special and we had the players to beat them playing our style of football.

I was singing ‘there’s only one Arsene Wenger’ with 60,000 others last wednesday as I thought we’d got the old Arsene back……. it looks like I was wrong 😦

  141. JonJon says:

rasp….. im like you mate…im distrought if im honest….it will take me a long time to get over that… i feel worse now than what i did when we lost in the CL final….

its not just defeat hurt….its let down hurt too….if you understand me…??? 😦

  142. Rasputin says:

JonJon….the last time I felt anywhere near as bad as this was earlier in the season when we conceded two late goals against the spuds. I was at the game and sat next to a totnum fan who the stewards refused to remove. You can guess how I felt when he celebrated their equaliser..

It was so unnecessary yesterday. We didn’t need to rest players for the pool game. Even if we lose against them it wouldn’t be a trajedy. I’m going to have really mixed feelings when we play them because if he fields our strongest side (the one he should have played against the chavs) I’ll feel really angry….

  143. London says:

Just seen your comment above I didn’t say I agreed with the justification of playing Diaby instead of Arshavin. I was making the point that it would be easy to justify, if Wenger felt the need. Tactics are always wrong when you lose and always right when you win, we lost, they were wrong.

  144. London says:

It was interesting that the song “One Arsene Wenger” wasn’t sung once yesterday, everyone was mumbling at half time what is he doing?

  145. peachesgooner says:

London – Arshavin should have started. He adds experience and sparkling skills. Cesc and Theo love having him on the pitch. Song should played alongside Cesc – thats the partnership that has worked recently and if Arsene had wanted to win this game he would have picked a team to win this game.

    He didn’t and we lost.

  146. JonJon says:

i understand london mate…. i cant agree with that justification is all i meant….it made no sense…

oh well whats done is done…..

rasp…. i was thinking about the spud game too….i smashed my TV when that happened….

but that wasnt in the semi of the FA cup… i feel really deflated….it must of been much worse for you being at the game and all as you describe…id of hit the roof if id of been sat with you….

i knew i shouldnt of built my hopes up but i did…i guess im just guilty of loving the club too much…. which we all are i suppose….

  147. London says:

You didn’t write that because you think I thought differently did you?

  148. avenell says:

Arsene was willing to play Arshavin injured with stitches in his foot, now it has healed he drops him.

  149. London says:

    very strange indeed

  150. peachesgooner says:

…..and thats the saddest thing, because on wednesday night the Emirates stadium was ringing with those words………

  151. Rasputin says:

I think it is an ‘open secret’ that AW’s priorities are CL first, followed by the prem, then the FA cup a lowly third and no significance at all attached to the Carling cup apart from an opportunity to blood young players…

  152. peachesgooner says:

London – you were kind of defending his selection of Diaby – did I read that right?

  153. avenell says:

But Arsene needs a trophy, any trophy, the natives are getting restless.

  154. Rasputin says:

    Evening ave, London, peaches…..

There is only one thing that can retrieve our season now…realistically, what do you think our chances are?

  155. avenell says:

My confidence after yesterday.. 10% chance..

  156. London says:

    let me explain

Someone wrote above: “How can Wenger possibly justify his team selection” to which I offered a reason.
Hitler invaded Poland and he had a reason. I didn’t agree with either decision but a reason existed for both actions and in the case of chosing Diaby as he offered more ariel protection it seems quite easy to understand but not necessarily agree with.

  157. peachesgooner says:

If, as you all think the CL is his priority then the scariest part of yesterdays team selection is that he’ll try it again before we play Man U in our semi-final

  158. JonJon says:

ive lost all faith in wenger now rasp…

i said earlier i lost all respect for wenger the manager and the man after yesterday….

our chances are less than 25%…..

until the end of the campaign i will resverve any further jugdements because you never know…… but i feel we have the wrong man in charge if we are to win something again….. he seems just to be happy to finish fourth and make money……

    we shall soon see….

  159. peachesgooner says:

London – I apologise, I thought you were advocating that it was a sensible course of action.

  160. Rasputin says:

London – I neither understand or agree with that decision. How is it that a man who is clearly stubborn and single minded about his footballing philosophy apparently loses confidence in his ethos and fields a side based on the opponents threat rather than his players strengths? It didn’t work against Stoke and it didn’t work yesterday

  161. London says:

Supporting a football team to me is about dreaming. We are going to win the Champions league. For the next bit your are going to have to squint in order to believe it. Wenger has burnt his bridges, there is nothing else to rely on no FA cup final to cling to, it is the CL or nothing, something akin to the Bolsheviks killing the whole of the Russian Royal family, the message it sends is that there is no going back…it is the Champions league or nothing.

  162. London says:

I’m sure you will accept that Wenger didn’t purposely want to lose the game? Yes, Ok, therefore he believed what he was doing was right. We lost, he got it wrong.

  163. London says:

The ethos (Wengers) part of your comment is what fascinates me. Why don’t you elaborate in a main post?

  164. peachesgooner says:

Surely the point is that he was got it wrong from the start – before a ball was kicked, and if he does the same again………

  165. avenell says:

I have thought about why I support a football team, and tbh I don’t know. They don’t care about me really. I like everyone have spent thousands of pounds doing it. but to explain it to a non supporter is difficult.

  166. JonJon says:

i firmly beleive wenger threw that game london…. i know you wont agree with me and your welcome to disagree…

but in wengers post match interveiw he said we have two bigger targets to go for and the players needed resting….thats horseshit…. the PL has gone and the CL is almost two weeks away…. we could of rested the players in the PL…. the liverpool game doesnt matter…. 4th spot is almost secured….. i would of prefered a win yesterday and a loss to liverpool if im honest….

wenger threw it…… and i’ll never forgive him…

  167. Rasputin says:

London, I have sensed before that you will always try to find a way to knit together events so as to imply that it is part of a clever plan by AW. (losing yesterday will spur us on to win the CL as we have nothing left to fight for?)I think he knowingly chose not to field his strongest side yesterday (bad english but you know what I mean). I can’t get inside his head, so I can only conjecture as to what his motives were. I have already stated that I think the FA cup comes third in his list of priorities – so maybe that had something to do with it.

  168. London says:

That creates a very interesting cross roads, you either believe he is the right man for the job or you don’t.

  169. avenell says:

With Arsene. I believe there is one way or the highway.. He won’t accept he got it wrong yesterday and I am 99% confident if Arshavin was bought against his wishes he would have walked..

I can understand that as that is what I would do.

  170. peachesgooner says:

JonJon – I agree with you – he didn’t care about the game.

Arsene – we the supporters, we care about the FA cup, we rather like winning it especially now its at Wembley again and we would have liked to have had another chance to sing ‘one song, we’ve only got one song’

  171. London says:

There may be another explanation that you hadn’t thought of; that being, that there was a 10 day international break that had to be filled with something. I wrote a piece on Eboue and the Defence. You seemed irritated by them both…give it a go.

  172. Rasputin says:

London – you have completely lost me now? Are you saying that the international break had something to do with AW’s team selection yesterday? Please don’t fall back into suggesting that someone isn’t thinking properly just because they don’t agree with you.

  173. London says:

I’m going to go, I’m not trying to tell you that you are wrong, it’s just that I like to try and see the good rather than the bad. It’s just the way I choose to support Arsenal. A demain.

  174. London says:

Wrong end of the stick mate, think coming up with a new idea to write about on this blog every day, think international break with no Arsenal news, now read the comment again and it should make complete sense.

  175. JonJon says:

lets not fall out guys… we are all upset but lets not take it out on eachother……

lets take it out on wenger…. 🙂

peaches tell me where he lives im going to brick his windows and piss in his letterbox….

  176. Rasputin says:

Choosing to support the Arsenal is what we all do…. I don’t recognise any set of virtues that makes one supporter better than any other – we all support the club in our own individual way. I think that it is possible to unconditionally support the club whilst not agreeing with everything the manager does (or anyone else associated with the club for that matter)

  177. peachesgooner says:

London – I feel that Arsene needs someone to question his judgement and decision making until then weird things like yesterday will continue to happen.

I feel that he is the right man for Arsenal, I love his vision for Arsenal football but for someone who is supposed to be competetive he doesn’t like winning much does he 🙂

  178. chaf says:

    JJ. Dear me, you vandal.

  179. avenell says:

    Am I here tonight? lol..

  180. JonJon says:

ave…. need a word…. just been on wrightys site and my name was linked to our site…. then on the next comment my name came up as yours?????? dont get it????

  181. JonJon says:

thats not the least of it chaf….

i’ll climb on his roof and shit down his chimney too….

  182. peachesgooner says:

Are we all over to wrighty’s then or is this job?

  183. JonJon says:

    no worries….. hahahahahahahahaha

    that was fun…. i didnt even realise at first…. what a wally…. 😉

  184. peachesgooner says:

just putting rasp in the picture

  185. JonJon says:

that was for kelsey peaches…. he didnt deserve what he got……

  186. Rasputin says:

Don’t you start peaches 🙂 …. I’m old fashioned, I like to take words literally… Its so much simpler if people just say what they mean don’t you think?

  187. avenell says:

Jonjon I just done a test comment.. de link then have another go..

  188. chaf says:

    We all are here

Saw the goals on TV just now for the first time since the game. I have come away from games upset, and to be honest, not that many over the years, esp the Wenger years. Yesterday I was as upset as I was bemused. All TV was off in my house all day in case it got mentioned, I have just brought myself to watch it. I still don’t know what to say.

Except, if you shit down his chimney JJ he will say it was a very spirited shit, but it was a young shit that would mature in time.

  189. Rasputin says:

    chaf 😛

  190. Rasputin says:

Better eat some garlic first JonJon – he prefers shit with a french flavour!!!

  191. avenell says:

Hehe .. send him the invoice to clean your coat Chaf everything is Arsene’s fault.

  192. JonJon says:

hahahaha didnt work mate…… hahahaha….im the real avenell….

i could get you in all sorts of arguement now 😆

  193. chaf says:

    Also poor Fabianski.

What a stinker, I thought the Polish came over here to get work…..

  194. avenell says:

Torres is going to kill Silvestre on tuesday. 😦

  195. JonJon says:

    sussed it mate…. 😉

  196. avenell says:

Jonjon.. you do anyway.. muckers.. lol

  197. Rasputin says:

That’s good, he’ll get a red card for that 😉

  198. JonJon says:

    chaf thats a classic…… LMAO

  199. chaf says:

Tell me whats going on or I’ll call in Ironside

  200. Rasputin says:

Maybe a yellow then and a stern talking to….

  201. avenell says:

How’s my bank accounts looking jonjon? 😉

  202. JonJon says:

i felt sorry for our flappyarseky…..

he made fuckups….but so did cech and reina in the CL game…..

he’ll be ok…. its wenger that has to give his head a shake…..

  203. peachesgooner says:

No a red would be much better, lets hope it happens in the first 5 nimutes 😆

  204. avenell says:

Silvestre may be better in Goal and Fabianski as CH.. he’s supposed to be quite a good outfield player..
I hope Arsene doesn’t read that.. gulp.. 😦

  205. JonJon says:

as bad as wengers tactics avenell.. 😉

  206. chaf says:

I think Fabianski might be better sorting the plumbing out, with Silvestre as the van driver.

  207. chaf says:

Then when he goes rushing out, you know its for some taps or something

  208. peachesgooner says:

chaf – have you been drinking, you’re so jovial 🙂

  209. chaf says:

    Samaritans are engaged

  210. avenell says:

We need to get Fabianski that stripey goalies shirt, he can look like supermario..

  211. avenell says:

Hot and cold goal posts and the FA cup down the soil pipe…

  212. peachesgooner says:

…….circus clowns were mentioned in other dispaches…….

  213. chaf says:

To be honest Peaches I’ve made a weekend of it.

Man U losing has helped a bit, and Hull getting closer to relegation. Things could be worse, we’re 4th, as we all knew we’d be, in the CL semi’s, which some of us thought would be our limit in that, and we know we stand a great chance of winning the league next season, give or take a youngster.

    Things aren’t all that bad.

  214. JonJon says:

someone needs to tie fabainskis bootlaces to the goalposts and give him a massive spliff before the game to calm him down….

  215. chaf says:

    Jamaican high grade..

  216. avenell says:

I am out of here now guys.. goodnight. have fun!

  217. peachesgooner says:

chaf – very sensible thoughts at the end of a sad weekend.

For me finishing in the top 4 is vital, not just cos I love the Champions Lge but it means we’ll continue to attract players.

Maybe we will beat the Mancs over 2 legs and be in the final – you have to be in it to win it……..

  218. chaf says:

    Me too. Goodnight…

  219. peachesgooner says:

My comments gone into spam again – so I’m gonna say goodnight guys.

    Catch up tmoro xx

  220. avenell says:

I dug them out Peaches, sorry Goodnite x

  221. JonJon says:

    night guys….

Please do not think for one minute that I disagree with a single word of this comment. I recognise your right to support Arsenal anyway you chose. I already know that you recognise mine.

  223. Rasputin says:

Morning London – let’s hope we have performances and results that we can all rejoice together in for the rest of the season 😛

  224. London says:

In fact, thinking about that comment of 11:39 a bit further Rasputin, I am going to suggest that it becomes the mission statement of Avenell Road.

    Would anyone care to comment.

  225. rico01 says:

Morning All, how’s everyone this bright sunny morning..

Ave – Please could you put me down for a 2-2 draw agains the dippy dippers 🙂

  226. Rasputin says:

Morning rico, is the sun shining on your chooks and in your arsenal heart today? 🙂

  227. rico01 says:

Morning Rasp, its is, both – I am now thinking about tomorrows game and looking for ward to seeing Arshavin 😉 (hopefully ….)

Hope you have the beautiful sunshine too, down side is two men are here sorting out roof tiles and pointing and that kind of stuff, so not a lot of peace 😦

  228. Big Raddy says:

I agree London. A fine mission statement – though I have to say that some of the rubbish written on other sites makes me question my tolerance of all views Arsenal !

Arsenal addiction is a Life Sentence

  229. JonJon says:

That is a perfect statement to make….

    morning all….

the sun is shining…but im still heartbroken….

  230. Rasputin says:

One good thing about tomorrow’s game is that if we win, we will effectively put an end to the dippers title challenge – so let’s play Wengerball……

Forget their height, weight, vital statistics, star signs, so called ‘glorious history’, and propensity to say errrrmmmm 5 times in every sentence and play football, through round and UP them…..come on you reds…….

  231. rico01 says:

Spot on Rasp, and then they win nothing again, despite the millions they spend! There is no Stevie Me Me Me and Alonso will stay away from his friend Cesc because what happened last time 😉

    errrrrrrrmmmmm – very funny 😛

  232. rico01 says:

Intresting from Fergie – he said he changed his squad after seeing how poor the turf was at wembley…

  233. JonJon says:

i will look forward to the pool game when it arrives….then i’ll get into it…

    has wenger said sorry yet….

  234. rico01 says:

JJ – he has to me by email, he is writing yours as i type 😉

  235. rico01 says:

Almunia says he is 100% to return on Saturday

  236. Rasputin says:

Come on JonJon, even I’ve had to cheer up today 😛 All is not lost – dare to believe…….. and buy your ticket to Rome 😆

  237. chaf says:

    Good morning everyone.

I think the game tomorrow could go ‘massively’ either way. Mind you I’m always wrong, but if we score first they will have to come out.

What will happen in the team selection, will Vela play at CB, with Nick at LB. I can’t wait now.

No sign of an apology? “I got it wrong” …

  238. rico01 says:

    morning chaf

  239. chaf says:

What is still annoying me is that, personally, I never get too hyped up for a game, especially lately, but with the way we were playing, with the team flowing, the confidence, I let myself go along with it all.

Thats why I felt cheated at the end. If AW didn’t think it was that important he should have let me know. All day saturday drinking session, first semi with my son, buses, trains, cabs, stain remover, sunday afternoon and evening hair of the dog (more like kennel)…

Yes Arsenal, its an addiction and a medical condition supporting you.

    Last time I moan about…

  240. rico01 says:

chaf – think to tomorrow now, and killing off any chance the dippers have to win anything this season 😉

  241. chaf says:

    Morning Rico.

We had a chicken when I was a kid. We lived in a big house with my grandparents and they bought a chick, to fatten it up for christmas, but once it got a name ‘Matilda’ and it used to come in and sit in front of the fire, it got a christmas present instead…

I think it nearly out lived my grand parents!

  242. rico01 says:

chaf – that is a lovely story, not too close to the fire i hope 😉

I wish many more people would be like that… stop it rico, this is a footie site, not a site to covert meat eaters 😉

  243. chaf says:

    No chance with London

  244. rico01 says:

Where is JJ when you need him..

I did hear that London loves his animal 😉

  245. JonJon says:

    im here rico 😦

    i’ll be ok tomorrow… i promise…. 😉

  246. London says:

    Yes, they taste nice.

  247. rico01 says:

JJ – I had hope you had your left foot on 😉

  248. rico01 says:

Morning London – trust you 😉

  249. JonJon says:

i once found an injured duckling when i was a wee lad at a local lake…. it was so tiny and i waited for three hours to see if mamma and pappa to show but no sign….

so i took it home and babysat it all through the summer holidays…. when i took it back to the lake it wouldnt leave me…it kept following me…so i kept it…

i built it a play pen in my garden and looked after it for another two months

until the fox came and got it….

so i poisoned some meat to get revenge and left it out one night and ended up killing the neighbours cat… 😦

  250. rico01 says:

bloomin heck JJ – thats a story and a half 😦

    Poor old you 😥

  251. JonJon says:

the best thing was rico… is that my school was 2 mins away from the lake… my girlfriend at the time would meet me after school with the duck….her brother was a few years older and could drive, he was my mate also and he used to bring them both to meet me…

we would all go for a walk around the lake and let the duck have a splash……

its funny how when something just pops up and takes over your routine….changes your lifestyle if you will…..you become attached to it

when the fox got it i just wanted to kill it….

  252. rico01 says:

JJ, i am not surprised, if anything or anyone jurt one of our animals i would be the same, nature is so very cruel sometimes 😦

  253. JonJon says:

    wenger is cruel also… 😦

  254. JonJon says:

right now wenger is the fox that stole my duck….. 🙂

  255. Rasputin says:

    You’re ‘fox n ducked’ then JonJon 😛

  256. JonJon says:

youve got some one liners you rasp….

between you and rico….ive almost forgot about saturday.. 😉

  257. rico01 says:

JJ – what happened saturday, i have forgotten 😉

  258. avenell says:

RvP and Ade out tomorrow.. Dudu fit.. 🙂

  259. rico01 says:

Hi ave – thats good, theo and dudu up top then, please no nikki b 😉

  260. avenell says:

    If I was a betting man.. 😦

  261. rico01 says:

    You still around ave ??

  262. JonJon says:

    thats horseshit….

we are going to field a stronger side than we did on sat…..

    wengers gone cuckoo…

  263. rico01 says:

    Oh hello JJ 😉

  264. London says:

Tomorrow’s line up is going to be very interesting, if Eduardo is fit then my guess would be that Wenger will play Bendtner and Dudu up front.

  265. avenell says:

    Or Bendtner and Arshavin behind.
    How are you London?

  266. avenell says:

Or Diaby behind like against Man U.. last chance saloon.

  267. rico01 says:

London, I would love to see Dudu and Theo, but I think you might be right 😦

  268. Rasputin says:

Hi ave – since I still haven’t got on the prediction scoreboard, can I have double points if I go for an outrageous scoreline and it is correct? 😉

  269. avenell says:

Rico said it depends how you like your chicken Rasp.. BBQ’d or running around.. 😉

  270. Rasputin says:

Ave – you know I only organic eat bean sprouts washed down with himalayan mountain spring water 😛

  271. avenell says:

Not a Abbot and a Pukka pieman then.. 🙂

  272. Big Raddy says:

Tonight I am cooking a Risotto con Funghi Porcini (Rice and mushrooms). Washed down with a bottle of Chianti.

    Should be a winning formula.

    Still pee’d off about Saturday,

  273. rico01 says:

Ras & Ave – you are so naughty 😉

Hi Raddy, that sounds right up my street, yum yum 😛

  274. rico01 says:

How’s your cold ave ?? Any better yet, sorry i havent asked recently ;)I know you men and colds 😉

  275. avenell says:

I don’t like to talk about it thanks.. 😦

Well it’s not getting better and I was awake a .. lol

  276. Benwell says:

He should go whith whatever defenders we`ve got left with Song & Denilson in front of them releasing Fab from the donkey work with Arsh, Theo & Eduardo causing havoc with their movement. It would also counter Liverpool with the way that Rafa sets his team up with Mascarano & Alonso in front of their back 4.

If I remember correctly the dippers were shit at the Emirates and extremly fortunate to get away with a draw thanks to the rent boys equaliser from a hopeful punt up field one bounce and a good impromtu strike!

  277. JonJon says:

    evening guys…. hello again benwell…

why do we always get hit by hoofers….?????

  278. rico01 says:

Haha ave – not so good then 😦

Are you up for doing a pre-match post are you open to offers to help you out as you are so poorly ????

  279. rico01 says:

Evening Benwell, nice to see another Gooner 😛

  280. JonJon says:

    i think bacs back 😉 for tomorrow…maybe JD too….

so we could have a strong lineup….

which pisses me off because we should of had a strong lineup at the weekend…

played the reserves tomorrow and against boro if need be….

    ok…ok i know…..enough rants…. 😉

  281. Benwell says:

We haven`t had a good old fashioned ball winning centre half since GG`s days (apart from Upson who I liked) All our defenders want to take care of the second ball and not just go and deal with the first, that`s why they end up looking at each other when its bounced between them!

He needs to balance the centre halves not keep getting the quick skillful ones.

  282. JonJon says:

the kolo campbell combo worked quite well benwell…

sol was a beast and kolo was quick so it worked well….

we need to find that beast again…..or……we find a midfielder who can actually act like a general in midfeild and close down them hoofers before its hoofed…..

even better…..we buy both…. a beast and a general and we are covered all areas 😉

  283. chaf says:

    Good Evening everyone.

    Benwell, how do you do…

I don’t think Denilson plays well with Song. (Open for comment)they both do basically the same thing, and Songs doing it better at the mo.

Big Raddy made me hungry reading that…

I’ve spent the day gardening, my back is hurting…

  284. chaf says:

I agree with that, get a CB who can hardly even speak, let alone think…

  285. JonJon says:

the song/cesc combo as the two deep midfielders is our best option….. that only works if we have players like AA and nasri in front….

denilson doenst fit into my plans at all anymore and neither does diaby…. songs the stand out player this season and he deserves the slot….

  286. chaf says:

Yeah surely we only need one DM

  287. JonJon says:

chaf… we need to find a CB from the mountain caves of central wilderness….im sure wenger has scouts there……

a big ugly, hairy, grunting, scarred, nutcase, who we keep looked in a cage and we only let him out for games….

    god i miss keown… 😉

  288. chaf says:

I take everyone saw ‘Wengers View’ on AFC. Song was tired, tell that to Frank McLintock.

And Diaby was brought in to counter Chelsea’s strenght in midfield. How? He should have come on in his car.

  289. JonJon says:

i dont even think we need an out and out DM… we just need someone big and strong who can get about abit and pass and shoot…. songs started doing that so he gets the nod….

denilsons too lighweight and gets bullied and diabys just dopey….

  290. chaf says:

JJ – LMAO if thats the right expression (had to look it up on google what it meant earlier)..

With you on that. But Keown was articulate as well, even Darwin would have been puzzled

  291. JonJon says:

i saw that chaf and it pissed me off…..

    diaby… lmao…

  292. peachesgooner says:

    Good evening everyone

I’m not really here yet, just saying hi and hoping you’re all ok.

Catch up again later, rico if I miss you later hopefully catch you tmoro.

ave – how are you feeling sweetie 🙂

raddy – glad you enjoyed your holiday

rasputin – mission statement eh 😆

chaf – did the vanish work yet?

    hi Benwell – new roadster

OK, have to split – see you in a while

  293. JonJon says:

keown was a qaulity bloke….. animal on the pitch and gentleman off it…. we need him on the staff….id take him as wengers number two….

could you imagine wenger trying to tell keown to sit down and shut up….

    maybe that what we need….

  294. chaf says:

Right – I need alcohol. I’m on my bike to the offo. Will be returning soon.

If I see a big hairy lump kicking a ball 500 yards I’ll stick him on the bus to London Colney

  295. JonJon says:

    hi peaches…bye peaches…

    bye chaf…

  296. chaf says:

    JJ Def,

I believe, and some people would know more than me, that Keown did start to work back stage for a bit a couple of years ago, but they couldn’t see eye to eye. I suppose they wouldn’t though would they!?

  297. JonJon says:

wasnt keown defensive coach in the 2006 CL run when we didnt conceed for a million games and we had senderbramble and flamini in the back line…. that was an achievement…. shame he didnt stay…

  298. rico01 says:

What super comments I have just read 😛

Chaf – dont let anyone nick your bike then 😉

  299. JonJon says:

if he finds the sasquatch for our CB role and ends up giving him a saddle ride then i dont think anyone would go near the bike rico….

  300. rico01 says:

    JJ 😛

  301. London says:

It’s interesting how recently there seems to have been a ground swell in the yearning for the return of big English stoppers in our central defence and yet the funny thing was that at the time when the team was full of them I remember wistful conversations about the merits of ball playing Europeans…I was trying to think who is the best central defender in the world at the moment but I couldn’t think of one player who was head and shoulders above the rest, perhaps, it is because the best club teams in the world right now are English and so If I go beyond Gallas I might have to think of a manc or a chav….yuck

  302. rico01 says:

London – that is such a good point about who is the best now, sadly i would go for Vidic 😦

Guys and Gals – I am done, dinner to eat and stuff to do, catch you tomorrow all

stay safe and dream of whipping (oranges ave) the Dippers 😛

    Nighty night

  303. JonJon says:

theres nothing really wrong with the back line london…. but for sqaud depth and for hoofing teams we could do with a nasty piece of work to come into the team to hoof the ball back were it came from…. or the man….. either will do… 😉

  304. Benwell says:

Sorry JJ forgot about Sol that did work nicely.

They brought Keown in to do a bit of motivation work and organise the defence but some of the poor lambs didn`t like his fothright approach.

Yes a commanding centre half and a solid midfielder dream on!!!!

I do think Denilson as had enough chances I just thought it worked nicely when Fab first came back.

  305. London says:

Just out of interest Jonjon who would you say is the best CD in the world right now?

  306. JonJon says:

    night rico….

i think its come to the time where we have to accept we are going to be struck down by injuries every season…. we cant use it as an excuse anymore…..

we need to have the players in the squad who can come in and do the job… and not for wenger to sign freebie crocks… bischoff and silvestre…. and tell us we are covered….. we arent…… and it shows.

  307. London says:

    Evening Benwell

I still think it is early days with Denilson, he has come on leaps and bounds this season. It’s easy to imagine that at 25 he will be one of the best in the world. Although, that said, I do agree with Jonjon when he says: Should we really be expected to wait that long?

  308. JonJon says:

if denilson is definately going to be ready at 25 then he should stay….but not as a first teamer…. denilson should be backup untilhes ready….

im happy to wait patiently for 5 years for a player to come good as long as we already have a good player there who can play for 5 years until said players ready….

  309. JonJon says:

london if i answer honstley will you promise not to laugh????? jolean lescott….

  310. JonJon says:

if we sign lescott and veloso in the summer than i think we’ll be ready next year for a full on charge on the treble…

  311. JonJon says:

if babel and barry are going cheap id take those two as well…. strength and depth…. injuries covered….positions covered… no square pegs in round holes and no messing about with tactics…. same formation every game…same tactics…. sod the other team… we play our game every game…. one player in one player out like for like…. simples… 🙂

  312. London says:

Jonjon, you know, the more and more I think about that team selection the less and less I think that Diaby instead of Arshavin was the problem and the more and more I think that it should have been Arsahvin instead of Walcott. Theo is protected because he scored but the crosses he put sent in were pathetic. To a certain extent I sympathise with Adebayor for the lack of passes that made their way to him. It sort of annoys me that we focus on Diaby and not Walcott.

  313. London says:

No Jonjon I wouldn’t laugh, it just high lights how difficult it must be to try and find quality replacments for the CD; Christ, I’m even starting to wonder just how much the sendersaurous has improved?

  314. Benwell says:

It`s not neccesarilly about having the best in the world, although that would be great, but if you get the balance right and two that compliment each other it works.

If you notice Vidic isn`t half as good without Ferdinands pace next to him and poser Ferd is shak without Vidic.

  315. London says:

I think we dodged a bullet by missing out on Babel and Barry is getting slower and slower where as Denilson will get better and better. Not to mention Nasri.

  316. JonJon says:

walcott put a stint in though london…. he ran at them and at least tried to cross…..

daiby just kept losing the ball and messing about and offered the team absolutely nothing….

if AA was on one wing and Theo was on the other chelsea would of been clueless…. one with pace one with skill theyd of shat their knickers…. we would of forced them on the back foot and played the majority of the game in their half… ade would of found space… so would RVP….

it was a tacticl cockup in my opinion…. we let chelsea breathe when we should of strangled them…

  317. London says:

Ooooh and I forgot Rosicky, which I suppose is understandable. I think we deserve a bit more honesty about the Czech captain.

  318. London says:

Yeah, I know what your saying about Walcott put in a stint, I just think that Arshavin would have put in a better stint…we will end up like dogs chasing our tails over this one.

I wonder if Walcott and RVP had have signed their new contracts would they have played? Arsenal do that without any shadow of a doubt. Look at Wilshire: before he signed….he was in the team at every opportunity; then, he signs professional terms and it’s into the reserves for you young man.

  319. JonJon says:

thats true benwell…. ferdinand and vidic are a package…. ferdinand can cope alone because lets face it he is an awesome CB… but vidic is nothing without Rio…..

babbels a good player…. rafa just doesnt know how to play him… he fits our style and if he was on the cheap id take him….. quick, dribbler and can shoot…. he’d be a good sqaud player….

im not evening mentioning rosicky again until i see him on the team sheet…. we need to think about replacing him too…. hes been coming back for a season and a half now…. its too much we need somebody else… if he comes back then great…. an extra player who fits the system….

  320. JonJon says:

thats a great point london about contracts….. ive actually heard that theo put pen to paper a fortnight ago….

whereas rvp is still stalling…… although a deal has been reached…..

  321. London says:

I reckon that Wenger believes that he has already replaced the captain of the Czech Republic with……the captain of Russia.

I wouldn’t be suprised if Wenger was as frustrated about Rosicky as we were and did something about it when he could: in the January transfer window.

Wenger only seems to swap like for like: When we lost Hleb he brought Nasri and it wouldn’t suprise me one bit if he feels that he has already replaced Rosicky with Arshavin…they even play in the same position, left mid.

  322. JonJon says:

    true london good spot…..

so if we lose diaby who will he replace him with….. diaby to me is a striker thats trying to be converted to a midfielder….. but it isnt working….

  323. London says:

I agree, the defence is all about getting the right balence, as I was writing I suddenly wondered who I thought was the best in the world? I couldn’t work it out so I just tagged it on to the end of my comment.

  324. avenell says:

We could replace Diaby with one of those crash test dummies with the + on his head.. similar amount of injuries.

  325. London says:

Do you remember when Diaby was out and he came back to play in the CC final and everyone raved about him, well that is another reason that Wenger thought it was a good idea, sorry to labour the point but it just sprang to mind and I thought I should have used that in my argument (legal definition) last night.

I find it difficult to accept that Wenger lost that game on purpose but there obviously is a tipping point, a point when he will not put anymore effort for fear of derailing his more important priorities, the CL and the league. I believe Ferguson thought the same; the difference with Chelsea is that they do not have players in their reserves that they have to keep happy in the same way as we do.

There is so much talk about how important it is to keep our players at the end of the season well if Bendtner, Denilson Diaby and quite a few others don’t get minutes on the pitch then they will leave this is one of the biggest problems Wenger faces; he knows that Arsenal players are always wanted especially the ones that are just about to bloom…..Wenger made that team selection the same as Ferguson did for the good of the squad… for the good of the club….. they both got it wrong.

  326. JonJon says:

the difference with fergie is that he wins trophies every year and keeps his fanbase happy…. he is once again going for the PL and CL double and so it is understandable for even the most critical of manure fans that he did what he did…. back to back doubles yes please???????…

wenger has nothing to gain in the PL and the CL is not for 10 days or so…. it makes no sense…..

we could of had the FA cup this year… our name was all over it and wenger chose to push for third in the league instead of winning the FA cup…. stupidity… and it may come back to haunt him if he doesnt win the CL…..

  327. avenell says:

The only difference between the two is, we are fighting for fourth place that we should get anyway, Man U are trying to win the PL.
Ferguson has a bit less pressure on him from the fans to win a trophy as he has come home with the goods in recent years. I think the FA cup was more important for Arsene to try to win this year then he realised judging by the mood of the various blogs and fans calling in on the radio.

  328. avenell says:

Have you ever checked your inbox mr jonjon?

  329. London says:

    Evening Ave

After tweeking your “Bring on the rent Boys” piece it made me remember how cautious I used to be when going to Chelsea and I must admit I was a little bit concerned about how people were going to act when on the same tube together going to the game. I needn’t have worried it was all fun and laughter with both sets of supporters cracking jokes. When you arrive at the tube station there is still the Wembley way that leads you straight to the stadium as it used to be with the twin towers. Arsenal were on the left facing the stadium and the chavs were on the left, for some reason we had got scent of a place to drink on the left but when we got there they made it clear they there was no way they were going to let 8 gooners in, so we brought some cans and sat in the sun, we just happened to pick one of the main thoroughfares for the chavs to get to the ground, yet again I was a bit concerned especially as my friends insisted on singing Arsenal at the top of their voices every time a chav opened his mouth anyway the thing that struck me was how the effect of the ever increasing ticket prices had taken their toll on the chavs…..they all seem such nice, white middle class boys who would never forget to say please or thank you. We made our way through a sea of chavs to the stadium which looks like the Emirates but a bit bigger, we crossed over in to the sea of red and white, to great relief not because I felt in danger just that you obviously get a better type of person dressed in red and white. We went in, they have moving stairs the same as they have in airports to take you up to you seat. The team selection was kept more secret that anything I can think of right now and to my surprise there was no Arshavin but Diaby, I said to myself this must be for height reasons, well what’s the point in sitting down and telling yourself you are going to lose. This is how my mind works.

  330. London says:

    Talk to y’all tomorrow

  331. avenell says:

Did you feel slightly let down when you heard the team though London? I was.

Good long comment mate you deserve a longer response, Man U fans were doing there nut on the Radio this morning 450 mile round trip and Fergs threw the game.. At least they have a chance in two more competitions.

  332. JonJon says:

that was an interesting read london…. i read it twice… 🙂

we will discuss tomorrow matey…. night

  333. JonJon says:

im off myself guys goodnight…. tomorrow we start again… 😉

  334. chaf says:

Tonight we drink… tomorrow the revolution

  335. chaf says:

    Wheres Kelsey been?

  336. peachesgooner says:

    Hiya, anyone still here

  337. avenell says:

    Hi Peaches! yes “sweetie” 😳

  338. peachesgooner says:

I’ve been trying to remember the last time I felt so cross and uninterested about Arsenal. It was after the spuds game that we threw away to let them draw 4-4, inconsolable I was for days – couldn’t speak really, I remember thinking before the next game which I think was a lunch-time ko that I wasn’t ready for football yet – my heart-ache was too great – I couldn’t get excited about a game………thats how I’m feeling now 😦

  339. peachesgooner says:

    Hi ave sweetie 😳

  340. peachesgooner says:

So, I check in to my favourite therapist and he ignores me………..

    Hows the cold ave?

  341. peachesgooner says:

chaf – thats from ‘Les Mis’ 🙂

  342. peachesgooner says:

Too late, I’m going to bed, nite nite, catch up tmoro xx

  343. avenell says:

Sorry Peaches.. are you still about?

  344. Benwell says:

    Some great points guys.

We all know that AW didn`t do it on purpose “he just didn`t see it!”

We all love his style but wish he could add a bit more grit.

Fergie was getting pelters when the chavs won back to back titles so he built a new team on the blind side and everyone was quite surprised when they went on and won it back. Let`s hope the genius`s plan comes together to such an effect!

As for Diaby Mcaan saw to him, unfortunately he looks like Pat and AW can see it!!!

  345. avenell says:

I cannot knock Arsene for what he done on a budget, but he does all the hard work then throws it away again.

Benwell. how many of us do you recognize? lol…

  346. Katie says:

Hi nice blog 🙂 I can see a lot of effort has been put in.

  347. gnarleygeorge9 says:

So this is where a lot of u have got too. I never even knew about this site. Howdy all

  348. Evo in Oz says:

    gday all

  349. squallviii says:

  350. squallviii says:

and the reason why i didn’t manage to predict the scoreline last saturday is because i couldn’t get internet connection from friday until yesterday!!! 😥

  351. squallviii says:

    tonight i predict we’ll win 3-1 !!!!!!!!!!!!

  352. squallviii says:

as long as wenger doesn’t make bad first team selection!!

  353. JonJon says:

    morning guys….

hi evo and gg9 nice to see ya again… 😉

  354. kelsey says:

Bloody Hell, welcome have you read the rules chaps.Being on a different time zone, you may have to alter your agenda. 🙂

  355. JonJon says:

    morning kelsey…. you ok mate????

  356. Big Raddy says:

    Morning All,

Great to see you GG and Evo

  357. JonJon says:

    morning radders… 😉

  358. Big Raddy says:

    Hi JJ

    GG put this up earlier.

What a great start to a Liverpool awayday.

And really captures the atmosphere in my home on game days (though we have better furnishings!)

  359. kelsey says:

I wish I could say i have no worries about the game tonight, but I can’t. I think we will play 4-5-1 with Nic as the sole striker(a waste of time) and arshavin in the hole.

The 2 plusses are that gerrard is out and that liverpool haven’t played for a week, which can take the momentum away sometimes.

I think I am rght that the real big games against the oher top 3 in the last 4 years,we have always come out second best(FA Cup and CL).

I would love to see a result today but our defensive options are limited and only Song can come back.

If we lose it won’t have much bearing on 4th.place,but though my heart says we may get a draw my head says we will lose 2-1/(sorry rico)

AW will have a lot to answer for if he cocks up with the selection again, and i don’t think Eduardo will play, there is obviously still something wrong with him, otherwise he would have been on the bench on saturday.

  360. JonJon says:

that certainly does capture the spirit…. and sends tingles down the spine….

    im feeling better today radders….

    saturday i was heartbroken….sunday i was dejected inconsolable and in mourning…yesterday i needed counselling….but today….today is match day…. i just need the arsenal… 😉

  361. kelsey says:

Are my eyes deceiving me again. Was there a new poster on here early this morning with just a smiley, and now it has vanished.

  362. JonJon says:

kelsey….im with that opinion also…im abit aprehensive….my heart says yes…my head says no….

    as for dudu….i dont know….

  363. rico01 says:

    Morning Roadsters..

kelsey, in my heart i dont think we will win tonight either 😦

However, this team of ours is full of surprises, so you never know 😛

Evo and George – Hello to you both, its lovely to see you 😛

  364. kelsey says:

    Frank will know, JJ 🙂

  365. rico01 says:

JJ, glad to hear you are feeling a lot better today 😉

  366. JonJon says:

your right kelsey… there was….but it turned out to be an advert so i put it back in spam until ave can check it out….

  367. rico01 says:

kelsey, you been doing the okie kokie this morning ?? 😉

  368. JonJon says:

    LMAO kelsey…

morning to the ray of sunshine that is rico… 😉

  369. rico01 says:

    JJ 😉 indeed

  370. Big Raddy says:

I think we can get at least a point. We have a happy knack of getting a result on the back of an important defeat.

  371. kelsey says:

I had a word with my counsellors and am FIGHTING back 🙂

  372. rico01 says:

kelsey 😛 have you been do such a thing this morning, i may take a peep 😉

  373. kelsey says:

this submit comment is slower than silvestre this morning.

  374. Rasputin says:

    Morning Roadsters and Roosters,

Great to have some old friends visiting the site last night. Ave will have to stay up into the early hours or maybe set up an AR-later club 🙂

  375. rico01 says:

kelsey – that is not possible 😉

  376. rico01 says:

    Cock-a-doodle-dooooo Rasp 😛

  377. Rasputin says:

Roadsters, are you forgetting what a frustrating and fickle club we are???

We will beat pool 2 nil tonight – that’s 2 to us and none to pool ave 😉 … you may as well give me my point now. Also wouldn’t it be a good idea to reward blind optimism in your scoring system? Why am I addressing ave, he’s having his usual lie-in til lunchtime…

  378. Rasputin says:

Morning rico, was that a question?….. it doodles very well thank you 😆

  379. JonJon says:

    all i want is a win tonight….

ok we went out of the cup….but wenger says we can still get 3rd or 2nd….

so lets beat the dippers and close the gap…

    right rasp????

  380. Rasputin says:

I’m with you JonJon. If the fans and the players believe that ‘Wengerball’ can beat any team…. we only need its originator have the same faith. Play our strongest team AW – winning is a habit….

  381. rico01 says:

Glad to hear it Rasp 😉

JJ, have you been popping positive pills ?? 😛

  382. avenell says:

    Morning all..

Nice to see Gnarley and Evo on welcome boys.

Rasp 2-0 is not going to get you double points at Ricolins. 😉

  383. rico01 says:

Morning ave – are you insulting my bottom !! 😉

  384. avenell says:

Morning Rico. I could not insult something I have not seen.. yet. 😉

  385. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Evening all

Big night/morning pending. Hey maybe Song might be the new Micky Thomas 🙂

  386. Big Raddy says:

Evening GG. How is the life down in Tas?

  387. chaf says:

    Good morning.

3-1 to us tonight, I feel good about it, we’re always good when no one expects it.

Read that Ade is rested for being tired. He must’ve been doing something strenuous on sunday then. Cos it couldn’t be what he did saturday…

  388. avenell says:

    Morning Raddy.

Hello Gnarley, long time no see. 🙂

  389. rico01 says:

Haha ave, i got no worries there then 😛

  390. rico01 says:

Haha ave, i got no worries there then 😛

    Hi George 😛

  391. rico01 says:

    Morning chaf, Raddy

  392. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Hows it avenell; I said howdy on another site to u BR. JonJon, London, rico, raif, rasputin, kelsey.

  393. gnarleygeorge9 says:

    Is evo about?

  394. Big Raddy says:

Not been ignoring you GG. Been on holiday, and came back to the nonsense on Saturday.

Effing typical – I miss Valencia and Bobby, but return to AW’s lunacy. Still no explanation from the Great Man

  395. JonJon says:

    hey chaf, ave,

GG…nice to see ya again pal

  396. gnarleygeorge9 says:

You r in the record industry. Do a full set of The Jam picture sleeves- singles & LPs have any value?

  397. avenell says:

Things are good, everyone is still down from the result on saturday.
I hope the players can pick themselves up from it better than us.

  398. Big Raddy says:

Yes, GG. They probably do. Check The Record Collector

  399. Rasputin says:

Good news ave – your band of maverick exiles is growing….. AR is like a bloggers Alamo 😛

  400. gnarleygeorge9 says:

Cheers BR I’ve added that to my favourites

  401. avenell says:

Morning Ras. It’s nice though, at least thay are highly trained and skilled bloggers.

  402. Rasputin says:

Hi gg, nice to see you spreading your cyber wings 🙂

Ave is the Robin Hood of site owners – takes from the rich gives to the poor…. rico and peaches will have to fight it out as to who’s gonna be Maid Marion

  403. Rasputin says:

    Morning ave….

I only come on here for light entertainment – I go elsewhere for serious football anaysis…. 😆

  404. kelsey says:

I love Robin Hood, the sherriff crease me up,Lilly Allen’s father I believe.
Even some of the lefties think we might lose tonight.

Takes from the poor and gives to the rich,is my understanding, rasputin.

Where is peaches,i need to talk to her,she has vanished yet again.

Ave what are highly trained and skilled bloggers 🙂

  405. avenell says:

We have Little Jonjon, but who wants to be Friar “chubby” Tuck?

  406. JonJon says:

    we are kelsey…we are…

  407. JonJon says:

    haha little jonjon. LMAO

  408. rico01 says:

I will surrender that position to peaches 😉

  409. JonJon says:

rico.. what maid marion or friar tuck??? 😉

  410. kelsey says:

she’s no good she can’t keep a secret 🙂 but she might re landscape their hideout.

  411. rico01 says:

JJ – Friar Tuck of course 🙂

kelsey 🙂 Hows your son doing?

  412. kelsey says:

rico, 2 steps forward,1 step backwards.I am getting him out here for the summer.home cooking, sun on his back etc. Thanks for asking.

  413. Rasputin says:

Morning Kelsey….. Peaches is not feeling well this morning.

  414. Evo in Oz says:

good to be here lads and lady or two

  415. kelsey says:

    sorry to hear that ras.

out for the day now, another game to play.it is baking here today,i kid you not.

  416. avenell says:

    Hi Evo, hows things mate?
Pop in tonight when the match is on it’s normally good fun.

  417. avenell says:

    Peaches… GET WELL SOON!!!!!

  418. rico01 says:

Evo – good to see you 😛

Good luck Kelsey, dont forget the sun block 😛

  419. Evo in Oz says:

hey avenell, good thanx mate, yeah ill be getting up for the 5am kick off, so will definitely fire up the blog too!

when do you normally post each day?

  420. avenell says:

We don’t post every day and at diffent times I’m afraid, some of the bloggers guest write so it depends who has a post written. Jonjon may have a pre match for tonight.

  421. Rasputin says:

    Hi Evo,

Are you ex-pat or aussie born? – I just need to know before I start coming out with the Bruce n Sheila comments. I wouldn’t want to give Evo any stick… 😛

  422. avenell says:

    Kelsey.. and your brolly. 😉

  423. rico01 says:

Rasp – you do make me laugh 😉

  424. peachesgooner says:

I can’t speak but I can blog as long as you’re sweet to me.

Men in tights – deep joy 😆

I still think I’m too cross to be up for this game tnite – I wish it was against West Brom

  425. peachesgooner says:

rasp – you’re on good form today 😆

  426. Rasputin says:

    My usual pre-match hysteria… 😳

  427. Evo in Oz says:

aussie born putin, so fire up the comments mate, lol 🙂

  428. peachesgooner says:

rico – I noticed someone else advocating Dudu and Theo up front……..

  429. Rasputin says:

What do you call an Aussie who marries a gorilla?………… A social climber 😆

  430. Evo in Oz says:

i wonder if Eduardo will start of come off the bench?

  431. peachesgooner says:

kelsey – have I missed you, I have the headache from hell although its now cushioned by several ibuprofen and paracetamol. I’m sure you’ll find me later……

  432. rico01 says:

hi peaches, sorry to hear you are poorly, i did see that, great minds eh 😉

  433. Rasputin says:

I pray we go for a 4:4:2 – dudu and either AA and Theo… no need for high balls, play to feet and bamboozle them.

If he goes 4:5:1 (more likely), I think that Nik (sorry rico 😉 )is a better target man than Ade because at least he tries to find one of our players when he competes for headers and hopefully an attcking midfield line-up will be there to pounce!

  434. Evo in Oz says:

eduardo and arsewaxin would be an interesting combo, but surely bendtner will start, 100% guarantee on that!

  435. peachesgooner says:

rasp – I agree, 4-4-2 is how we play best, our collection of skillful players are so small though – do you want to see Song alongside Cesc or Nasri or Arshavin

  436. peachesgooner says:

Ok, thats brushed away the cob-webs, I’m up for it now.

I always expect us to win and why shouldn’t we – we have a fabulous team and we play the best football.

Liverpool have dropped points at home this season against teams that have gone there for a point – Arsene won’t be defensive will he? He’ll want to win won’t he?

  437. Rasputin says:

Peaches – I’m a Song convert! Whilst he continues to play as in the last 5 or 6 games, he’d always be in my starting line-up. I think he frees Cesc to be ‘Cesc’

  438. rico01 says:

    Nik, no please Rasp ;P

With Ade and RvaP out, I hope he goes with this line up

    Eboue Kolo Sagna Gibbs

    Nasri Song Cesc Arshavin

    Theo Dudu

Subs – Denilson/Diaby, Mannone, Nik, Merida, Silvestre (sadly in case) Vela Coquelin…

  439. Evo in Oz says:

i thing theo will always be on the wing for pace until he fills out and gets a bit older, arsewaxin at goal is deadly, much like eddie!

  440. peachesgooner says:

rico – I love that line-up too but I think Nikki will start and as rasp advocated in a 4-5-1 😦

  441. JonJon says:

    bendtners crap.. 🙂

    dudu and AA

    hi peaches/evo

  442. peachesgooner says:

say it how it is JonJon 🙂

  443. Rasputin says:

I didn’t advocate 4:5:1 – I want 4:4:2, but we all suspect it’ll be 4:5:1. Rico, I know you don’t like nik, but would you concede that he is no worse and a lot less annoying than Ade?

  444. Rasputin says:

I’d live to see Dudu and AA start up front and bring on Nik with 20 mins to go when we are 2 nil up and coasting.. 😉

  445. rico01 says:

peaches, sadly i think rasp is right, but me, i would love that line up 😉

    4-4-1 – we lose i reckon
4-4-2 – we get at least a draw..

What gives me hope is that AW has said in an i/v yesterday/today, that he is going out to win all our last league games, and that our title challenge is not over until its impossible. He said he doesnt want 4th…

So, I hope The Toffees thrash the Chavs tomorrow and we gradually creep past them….and then pip the dippers for second 😛

  446. JonJon says:

both ade and nik are crap…. 😉

until someone tells them both that the ball has to go between the rectangular posty things and into the back of the netty thing they will stay crap… 😉

at least nikki runs….ade needs a rocket up his arse

  447. rico01 says:

JJ – Nikki does run, but thats only because he has to get onto the pitch 😉

  448. rico01 says:

Ok, dont all shoot me, i was having a bit of fun, Nik is not ‘that’ bad 😉

  449. Rasputin says:

JonJon ….. RSC has said he wants to leave B’burn at the end of the season to join a club with more ambition. I’d take him for either Ade, Nik or both……

  450. Rasputin says:

I thought Ade wasn’t playing because he’d fractured his lazybone …. but apparently he needs to be rested after the leisurely stroll he had at Wemberley.

  451. JonJon says:

rasp… id take RSC over Ade any day….let nikki stay for a few year to see if he can get a first touch or a few goals to his game….

id take pointy elbows davies over ade any day

  452. JonJon says:

    fractured lazybone… LMAO

  453. Evo in Oz says:

    hey jon jon

  454. JonJon says:

    hey evo… long time fella…

    how did you find us?????

  455. rico01 says:

JJ, I was accussed of being all elbows in my footballing days yesterday 😉

  456. Evo in Oz says:

GG gave me the word up

  457. JonJon says:

    rico davies… 😉

  458. Rasputin says:

What’s the time over there Evo – are you burning the midnight oil?

Don’t take any notice of my earlier comments – I love the Aussies – they have a wicked sense of humour….. unless we get lucky and beat them at sport once in a blue moon 😛

  459. Evo in Oz says:

only 945pm, but getting close to bed due to the 5am kick off 🙂

  460. avenell says:

    New post guys and gals..

  461. Evo in Oz says:

catch you all in 7 hours for the kickoff.cheers
