Lets not argue over a couple of inches…..

On a day after the night before, when someone else should have been firing on all cylinders typing away a match report, having a gloat about being second in the Premier League, sadly you have got me again. The snow beat the fixture at the last moment and I guess we will just have to wait; maybe Saturday will be our day instead?

Wouldn’t it be great if the Chavs dropped points at home, we dispatch Everton with ease and second spot becomes ours after the Mancs get beaten!

The other day I wrote a piece about Henri Lansbury, it was about his time with us, his time on loan with both Scunthorpe and Watford and his dreadful time coping with glandular fever – how he used to play computer games but fall asleep during the game.. How he tried to train but couldn’t because he was exhausted and was left to watch feeling frustrated and useless….

Sadly, what I had forgotten is that I deleted the document from my computer, so this is all a bit hit and miss…

But then our new born Henri went from a youth cup game against Brentford, when he has to take a penalty at fifteen years old during a penalty shootout, he approached his run up only to see a stupid spectator walk behind the goal to get a better look!

He blasted his penalty wide, the youth side went out of the competition – and that stupid spectator was indeed Arsene Wenger!

But we all know that changed and now the lad has got through his illness, he bulked up whilst on loan at Scunthorpe, and now he is strutting his stuff at Watford – a club who does nothing but rave about him. He is there until the end of the season on loan, but thankfully he has just tied himself down with us – and that has to be good…. At least he has a bit of silverware thanks to win against The Dippers last year

Today there is still much speculation about the future of Fran Merida, has he signed for Atletico Madrid or not, will we get compensation for his sale, or not – who knows, and now I think to myself who cares! Then I read his agent says he is only talking to Arsenal – Diaz, do yourself a favour, shut the heck up – you engineered his move, you started to tell the world how unhappy he was, you said he was in love with Atletico Madrid!

I hate agents!!

I have always hoped he would stay with us, but I guess in a team full of talented young midfielders, he feels that he needs to move on to play – but in all honesty, he probably has less chance of becoming a better player in Spain – otherwise, why would he have moved from there in the first place??

But hey ho – we have Henri Lansbury, and English born and bred midfielder who shows great promise, and he’s ours until the day we choose to sell him – watch Watford, he’s not bad!

Suppose what I am trying to say is just what probably most of us feel – we have talent in our youth in abundance, especially in the midfield area. We can afford to lose one or two who can’t be bothered to wait and fight for their place and to be fair, at his young age if he hasn’t got the fight in him now, will he ever have?

Remember that night when Alex scored THAT header to knock us out of the Champions League? Well, that same man reckons we are the Chavs biggest threat to the Premiership Crown – Ha Ha Alex, you bet your bottom dollar we are (we can say that now Stan is on board) we are going to run your butts down until the end!

Not a lot of other news around really, afc.com haven’t said when the Bolton fixture will be, no doubt though the FA will cram in to a week when we really don’t need it. They will do anything to hinder our chances!

Lacine Traore, a 6’ 6” Ivory Coast striker who plays for CRF Cluj in the Romanian League is linked with us and the Carlton Cole rumours are gathering pace.

Traore is honestly only 6′ 6″ dispite reports that he is 6′ 8″, but who wants to fight over an extra two inches

But the leggy lad has a good left foot, a good right foot, can use his head and can multi task! The latter worries me, our old boss will put him at CH with his height!!

If he signs, he would be something very different for us, but this spin could just be that, spin. I’m going to wait for afc.com to announce any news this window

There is also talk about a player from Real Madrid swapping with Cesc!! I shall not bother naming him because it just isn’t going to happen!

Blackpool want JET on loan for the rest of the season which would be good for him, I can’t see him getting into the side this year, so best he gets on and plays football.
